    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 33 ‡

After a fairly uneventful round, the battling Pokemon decide to amp up the ferocity! And by that I mean, um, Snake slips off to Sleep. Gurl conks right out. Zzz. Her Toxic poisoning goes away, but her Confusion stays for now. All eyes are on Breaker to see if he can give the energy a jumpstart, but he sits on his tush and stares into space instead. What the what? Lillium, who was gonna Sleep Powder Snake but wasn't close to being fast enough, instead decides to renew the Servine's Toxin status. As quickly as it went away, it comes back. Sucks to be Snake. (And is it just me or has it been a long time since anybody took direct damage?)

    Lillium: <-4 EP>
Snake: <+30 HP; -30 EP; Slp; Txc no more; Txc>
    Breaker: <+6 EP>

As her Confusion peters away, Snake begins to mutter under her breath. Shenanigans await! She opens her eyes (while asleep, which is creepy) and sets her sights on Breaker. She then begins to Glare him into submission. Ahhh! Full-body Paralysis sweeps over Breaker, who's now as immobile as a Slakoth with bedsores. If that weren't enough, Lillium decides to make lovey-dovey eyes at the little punk rock toad thing, inducing instant Attraction. Oh gawd. It's always one thing after another, innit?

    Lillium: <-4 EP>
    Snake: <Cfn no more; -4 EP>
    Breaker: <Par; Atr; Can't move!>

Snake uses Sleep Talk once again. This time, she releases an array of shimmering leaves at Lillium. Her Grass-type resistance keeps the damage down but the attack still does a decent amount of harm nonetheless. She counters by going to down on Snake's dreams, gobbling them up like they're discount pizza rolls. Om nom nom. Breaker, meanwhile, goes all Crouching Tiger on us as he leaps into the air and lands a terrific Hi Jump Kick on Snake. Bam! Is it just me or is one Pogey doing, like, exorbitantly better than the other two?

    Lillium: <-6 HP; -8 EP; +5 HP>
    Snake: <-28 HP; -2 EP; -1 HP fatigue>
    Breaker: <-6 EP; -3 HP fatigue>

Breaker is drained by the Leech Seed <-3 HP> much to Lillium's delight <+3 HP>. Breaker also takes mounting Toxic damage <-5 HP> while Snake gets a smaller taste <-3 HP>.

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

Naw, it was Helping Hand during the second action if you attacked Snake, which you did not.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 34 ‡

Slowly but surely, the battle seems to be plodding onward. Snake mutters in her Sleep and whips out some Sleep Talk shenanigans. She scuttles toward Lillium, hoists up the petite plant and then Slams her hard against the ground. Meanwhile, Breaker ignores his trainer's orders and hurries to Lillium's aid. He picks her up and dusts her off and hugs her oh-so-tightly. Golly, he was just ever so worried! Blinking, Lillium wiggles free and then spits a strange little seed in Snake's face. Suddenly, she awakens. Dark circles appear under eyes, which go all bloodshot. Dat's like hardly ever a good thing.

    Lillium: <-5 HP; -4 EP>
Snake: <-3 HP fatigue; Slp no more; Contrary; Insomnia>
    Breaker: <Can't move!>

Poor Snake. Something seems... a little off.

As Snake's sanity peters away, Breaker takes a load off and Lillium embeds roots into the ground. Om nom nom! Nutrients! They taste like shit but work like magic.

    Lillium: <-4 EP; Ing>
    Snake: <Can't move!>
    Breaker: <+6 EP>

Snake doesn't seem to be doing so well, which is a kind way of saying she's burying her face in her hands and cackling like a madwoman about to commit triple homicide on a group of Girl Scouts selling Tagalongs door-to-door. Oh jeepers. Meanwhile, Lillium starts applauding for Breaker who is completely stricken with Paralysis. Yeah! You lie there like a rug! Good on you, bucko! Methinks using Helping Hand on a Pokemon suffering Parattraction ain't so smart.

    Lillium: <-4 EP>
    Snake: <Can't move!>
    Breaker: <Can't move!>

    Breaker loses more health from the Leech Seed <-3 HP> to Lillium's benefit <+3 HP>. Breaker's Toxin increases <-7 HP> as does Snake's <-5 HP>. Finally, Lillium's Ingrain says "oh hey derr" <+2 HP>.

    First thing, use Protect.

Next, just relax. I have some doubts pertaining to breaker's ability to land an attack at this point.

End with a Giga Drain @ Breaker

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 35 ‡

After a round in which very little happened, some equally fruitless antics take place. Lillium shakes some golden spores at Snake, who keeps herself safe in an energy bubble. Nah-nah! Meanwhile, Breaker scrambles toward Lillium and starts kissing the hem of her skirt. 'Cause, y'know. He felt like it.

    Lillium: <-4 EP>
    Snake: <-4 HP fatigue>
    Breaker: <Can't move!>

Snake whips out a glass of iced tea (wh-where did she get that?!) and lounges as Lillium and Breaker are left to their own devices. Lillium watches closely to see what Breaker is gonna do... and when he starts to charge up a DBZ-style energy blast, a smile curves across her face. Finally! She starts bouncing and cheering like a nut, which only strengthens Breaker's forthcoming attack. Suddenly, he releases a souped-up energy blast which rockets Snake into the stadium wall. Aww, shoot! Now there's iced tea everywhere! ffs!

    Lillium: <-4 EP>
    Snake: <-18 HP; +6 EP>
    Breaker: <-6 EP; -2 HP fatigue>

Snake looks downright livid. She pulls herself up, shakes the liquid off of her body and stalks toward Breaker like some kind of iced tea-scented zombie. She latches onto Breaker and begins guzzling back his health out of spite. OM NOM NOM SO GOOD!! >O >O Lillium, meanwhile, leans back and enjoys the show... only to have Breaker scramble toward her, whip out a palm fan and waft her gently.

Lillium smiles. She looks like she's enjoying having the victory handed right to her.

    Lillium: <+6 EP>
    Snake: <+7 HP; -6 EP>
    Breaker: <-14 HP; Can't move!>

Let the HP shuffle begin! Breaker is down <-3 HP>, Lillium is up <+3 HP>, Breaker is down <-9 HP>, Snake is down <-7 HP> and Lillium is up <+3 HP>.

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 36 ‡

After some epic Ciceroing, Snake and Breaker turn on one another in an attempt to nab the second place spot. In the end, Snake gets a jump on Breaker before the punk rock lizard can do anything. Snake lets loose a final flurry of leaves which hack and slash Snake until he can take no more. Just like that, he falls. Tittering, Lillium wiggles up to Snake and joyfully socks her right in the face. Snake's eyes slide out of focus and she slumps over.

And with that, by quite a large margin, Lillium takes the crown!

    Lillium: <-10 EP>
    Snake: <-6 HP fatigue; -3 HP; +2 SpA>
    Breaker: <-5 HP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    Notes:

    > Good work, guys! That was lots of fun. Here are the final tallies:

    SET ONE:

    1) Cynder (Shindo) (3 pt.)
    2) Em (Squirt) (2 pt.)
    3) BT (Cicero) (1 pt.)

    SET TWO:

    1) BT (Robirdo) (3 pt.)
    2) Cynder (Miko) (2 pt.)
    3) Em (Fire Guy) (1 pt.)

    SET THREE:

    1) Em (Nano) (3 pt.)
    2) Cynder (Alphonse) (2 pt.)
    3) BT (Rosalinda) (1 pt.)

    SET FOUR:

    1) BT (Demonic Stool) (3 pt.)
    2) Em (Triton) (2 pt.)
    3) Cynder (Frost) (1 pt.)

    SET FIVE:

    1) Cynder (Lillium) (3 pt.)
    2) BT (Snake) (2 pt.)
    3) Em (Breaker) (1 pt.)

    > As a result, the point distribution goes as follows: Cynder gets 11 points, BT gets 10 points and Em gets 9 points. However, because the overall battle was scored based on sets won rather than points earned, we have a tie between Cynder and BT! Em, thanks for your participation. You fought very well. You can probably go ahead claim your points now, while Cynder and BT should wait until after the tiebreaker.

    Notes:

    > Okay! As you can probably tell, this will be a five on five, everyone out at the same time. The five Pokemon you used during the course of the battle have been restored to full health and will duke it out all over again. Here's the catch: the Generation restrictions are still in play on the individual Pokemon. For example, Cicero does not get a gender/ability, can only access its Gen I movepool, its attacks will follow the pre-Gen IV Physical/Special split, etc. Lillium, on the other hand, has both a gender/ability, can access her full Gen V movepool, her attacks will follow the revised Physical/Special split, etc. (Also, remember that attacks can still only take one target, even if you're using a move like Earthquake or Surf! And the damage cap is still in effect!) And that's that! It's a fair bit to keep in mind so definitely let me know if you have any questions. And with that… let the shenanigans begin!

    ‡ Round 1 ‡

The time has come! The Five Gen Three-Way has just about wound down to a close, but it’s not done yet—there’s still a whole ton of crazy shenanigans ahead before we can declare it complete! Having proven their battle prowess time and again, Cynder and BTPoke step beneath the hot stadium lights and prepare to duke it out. They begin flinging Pokeballs like mad, summoning their teams of five, and oh gawd, the anticipation is killing me! Let the tiebreaker begin!

Miko is the first to strike. He snaps his fingers and conjures up five shades that strongly resemble Cynder’s entire squad. The five specters sweep toward Rosalinda, who clutches her skirt readily. The shades lunge, kicking and punching the crappola out of her. Meanwhile, Snake shows off her favourite trick: she casts out a shimmering storm of leaves at Triton, who gets the Slap Chop treatment, while Cicero adds to the penguin’s pain with a big ol’ blast of Thunder. Gah! Not a good day to be a Water-type.

Ever the resilient fighter, Rosalinda pulls herself up after that Beat Up and bides her time. She’s waiting for something. Now it’s Alphonse’s turn to jump into action, barreling toward Robirdo, but the bird swoops out of the way at the last second. Unfortunately, because Cicero happened to be right behind Robirdo, he winds up taking the incoming ThunderPunch. Robirdo lets out an apologetic chirp at Cicero, who doesn’t seem too pleased with his feathered ally. Can’t really blame him.

A little dazed after that Leaf Storm/Thunder cocktail, Triton carefully steadies himself before getting a bit of revenge. He waddles up to Snake and happily punches the Servine in the jaw while Demonic Stool (aka. Mr. Devil Poops) performs a bit of hocus pocus. He sacrifices his health in order to put a Curse on Miko, who feels himself touched by some malevolent energy. Lillium, meanwhile, tries to dig her roots into the ground… and this is exactly what Rosalinda has been waiting to happen. She makes a Snatching gesture with her hand and, without warning, roots begin to fly out from beneath her skirt and bust through the floor. Lillium looks livid. Thieving bzznatch. After how easily she took the fifth set, she seems surprised by this level of competition.

Finally, Shindo, the slowest little powder puff on the field, joyfully lets out a mouthful of flames at Snake. A big ol’ Burn appears on Snake’s tushie as she’s struck. Shindo begins chortling in delight. The Servine just got served!

    Shindo: <-10 EP>
    Miko: <-8 EP; Crs>
    Alphonse: <-6 EP>
    Triton: <-38 HP; -4 EP>
    Lillium: <-4 EP>

    Cicero: <-8 HP; -10 EP>

    Rosalinda: <-17 HP; -4 EP; Ing>
    Demonic Stool: <-25 HP; -10 EP>
    Snake: <-27 HP; -12 EP; +2 SpA; Brn>

Robirdo, who feels awfuly Speedy after that Agility, proves why “pulling a Robirdo” is indeed a phrase meaning “to do something with great success”: he swoops down with badass poise and precision and slams his beak into Lillium, who flops over. She doesn’t like this sudden transition from battle champion to Skarmory food. Eager to get revenge for that assholeish Curse, Miko slams his Iron Tail into Mr. Devil Poops—at least that’s what would be happening if Mr. Devil Poops hadn’t put up a Protect. Mr. Devil Poops begins laughing like a maniac. If not for that Protect, he’d be showering Miko with ghost saliva right about now. Good thing that barrier works both ways.

Deciding to be safe rather than sorry, Snake raises her hands and conjures up a silvery screen. Alphonse tries to do the same, but Rosalinda ain’t having any of it. Falling back on her tricksy ways, she makes another Snatching gesture and steals Alphonse’s Reflect. Snake and Rosalinda high-five one another. Alphonse tries to stick out its tongue but it doesn’t have a tongue so it decides to just give ‘em the finger instead. Children in the audience, avert your eyes, plz and thx.

It’s Triton’s turn and the little Piplup wiggles his flappy little arms and causes badass blades of grass to rise out of the stadium floor. They try to latch onto Mr. Devil Poops’s keystone but can’t breach his Protective bubble. The same thing happens when Lillium tries to hit him with an Energy Ball. Nada.

And once again, Shindo finally gets to act and spits out an Ice Beam at Cicero, who’s all OH HEEEEELLLLLLLL NO. (Guys, I think Cicero doesn’t like Ice Beams very much.) With a good deal of elegance, he swoops out of the way of that Ice Beam—only to have it collide with Robirdo instead. Moral of the story: evasion in such crowded quarters doesn’t end well.

    Shindo: <-8 EP>
    Miko: <-8 EP>

    Robirdo: <-10 HP; -6 EP>
    Rosalinda: <-4 EP; Rft>
    Demonic Stool: <-8 EP>
    Snake: <-4 EP; Rft>

Happy to have escaped that fuggin’ Ice Beam, Cicero makes sure he’s not gonna pull a Cicero. He snaps his fingers and creates a not-terribly-lifelike-but-it-will-suffice Substitute to take damage instead. Meanwhile, Robirdo, who’s unhappy to have been hit by that fuggin’ Ice Beam, also goes on the defensive with a Protect. Safe for the time being, he whips out a magazine and gets in a spot of pleasure reading.

Looks like Cicero’s Substitute ain’t long for this world. Miko saunters up and obliterates the thing with one fierce Ice Punch, which causes the Dragonite to gulp. Feeling a little vulnerable all of a second, big guy? Though she’s already guarded by a Reflect, Snake decides to double her defensive odds with a complementary Light Screen. Rosalinda goes a similar route with a protective veil. Ain’t no Thunder Waves or Toxics gonna penetrate this thing! No siree!

Still miffed after having its Reflect Snatched out of its hands, Alphonse slams its metal bulk against the ground and casts out a concentrated shock wave. It ripples through the ground, losing strength as it passes through Rosalinda’s Reflect, and hits for mild damage. Rosalinda winks and Alphonse flexes its fist in annoyance. Nothing irks more than having your own Reflect used against you.

As it turns out, Robirdo was smart to put up that Protect. Triton tries to penetrate it with a big ol’ geyser of water but can’t seem to bust through. Meanwhile, Mr. Devil Poops once again starts cackling (and this time he actually does spray Miko with ghost spit… yuck). Hrm.. What could be so funny? As it turns out, the joke’s on Alphonse. Mr. Devil Poops connects himself with Alphonse using an invisible conduit through which he starts siphoning health. Alphonse lets out a robotic chirp. Robbed! Again! Infuriated that her ally has fallen victim to such dastardly measures, Lillium vomits purplish idk-what-that-is all over Cicero, who takes ill.

And once again, all eyes are on Shindo. Smiling, he merrily belches hot flames all over Robirdo’s Protect. Robirdo looks up from his magazine and rolls his eyes. Bitch, please.

    Rosalinda: <-5 HP; -4 EP; Sgd>
    Demonic Stool: <+13 HP; -15 EP>

Rosalinda <+3 HP> leeches some health out of the soil and Snake <-3 HP> suffer from her Burn. Meanwhile, Miko <-10 HP> takes an alarming amount of damage from the Curse while Cicero <-1 HP> feels the Toxin begin doing its thang, albeit slowly.

    ‡ Round 2 ‡

Things are pretty darn tight as the next round of our crazytown bananapants battle kicks off! Cicero beats his wings hard and whips out a Blizzard, an attack he much prefers to give than receive. The howling storm encloses around Lillium, but not before an impenetrable bubble encloses around her first. She winks. Can’t touch this! As it turns out, Shindo isn’t quite so lucky and takes a wing to the face care of Robirdo. Oof. However, the Jigglypuff has Robirdo’s wing in his clutches and refuses to let go. Robirdo squawks awkardl. The blubbery little bugger is planning something.

As Shindo maintains his grip on Robirdo, Snake whips out a Leaf Storm at poor Triton. The Piplup trembles, but there’s no need to fear… Miko’s here! The suave Sneasel leaps into place and raises his palm. A Blizzard of his own tears forward and catches the Leaf Storm. The two storms spiral into one another, creating a cyclone of leaves and ice that aimlessly tilts around the surrounding area. In the end, it meanders back and forth across the midfield line before petering away. Phew. Because Snake’s attack didn’t nail a target, she gets no Special Attack boost. Tough luck, friend.

With that excitement behind us, Rosalinda bends over and scoops up a glob of mud. She wrinkles her lips. This shit is nasty. She flings it at Alphonse who takes the attack to its face; fortunately, its Clear Body keeps its Accuracy in tiptop condition. The blue tin can then slams the ground hard, shooting off an Earthquake. The focused tremors travel under Mr. Devil Poops who’s given a nasty jolt. Jeepers. Triton assaults Cicero with a Blizzard, causing the Dragonite to howl in misery, understandably, while Mr. Devil Poops recovers and blasts Miko with a quick snap of current.

Time for Shindo to act. Still clinging Robirdo’s wing after all this time, he does a graceful spin and launches Robirdo into a nearby wall. Robirdo collides and opens his eyes feebly… only to see a flaming ideogram rapidly approaching. Bam! Nothing like a bit of arson to serve as the cherry on a blunt force trauma sundae.

    Shindo: <-7 HP; -18 EP>
    Miko: <-6 HP; -10 EP>
    Alphonse: <-3 HP; -8 EP>
    Triton: <-10 EP>
    Lillium: <-8 EP>

    Cicero: <-18 HP; -10 EP>
    Robirdo: <-30 HP; -5 EP>
    Rosalinda: <-2 EP>
    Demonic Stool: <-10 HP; -4 EP>
    Snake: <-12 EP>

As the battle continues, Cicero keeps up the Fire Blast shenanigans with a hot mouthful of flames for Miko. The Sneasel is left with a nasty-ass Burn. Ugh. As if that Curse weren’t bad enough. Meanwhile, Robirdo swoops in close to Lillium and bashes her in the face with a Drill Peck just as Miko performs another cunning Beat Up. Five shades resembling Cynder’s Pokemon appear and lunge at Rosalinda, who’s helpless as she gets the manicotti punched and kicked outta her.

After that Leaf Storm didn’t exactly pan out, Snake is eager to actually cause some real damage this time. She glides toward Triton and wraps the Piplup up in a bearhug from hell, sucking back plenty of health, while Rosalinda assaults Shindo with some furious waves of Psychic activity. Shindo tries to pull up a Substitute, but isn’t fast enough and gets distracted by the invisible hammers bashing him in the face. Ouch. Now it’s Alphonse’s turn to act as it shoots toward Cicero and clobbers him in the gut with a Meteor Mash. Whoo! Attack boost ftw!

Triton, who’s not exactly thrilled to have had all that health Giga Drained away from him, decides to get a little bit back. He spits out a stream of water that bends and curls in the air and forms a glistering ring hovering before him. Whoo! Mr. Devil Poops decides to get in on the action and apparently believes two Pokemon with Burns ain’t good enough, because he spits a little guttering flame at Alphonse. It catches the Metang on the forearm and leaves a nasty scorch mark. Burns for all! Meanwhile, Lillium, true to form, avoids attacking outright and instead fires a tiny seed at Cicero. It takes root on one of his wings. Uh-oh. Those seldom end well.

A little slow on the uptake, Shindo only now puts up that Substitute he was instructed to use. A Jigglypuff replica appears on the field, bewitching BT’s Pokemon into thinking it’s real. It looks like total crap, like some kind of hot mess of a soggy kindergartener paper mache disaster, but it does the job.

    Shindo: <-11 HP; -15 HP; -4 EP; Sub: 15 HP>
    Miko: <-18 HP; -8 EP; Brn>
    Alphonse: <-8 EP; +1 Att; Brn>
    Triton: <-14 HP; -4 EP; ARg>
    Lillium: <-14 HP; -4 EP>

    Cicero: <-12 HP; -10 EP; LSd>
    Robirdo: <-6 EP>
    Rosalinda: <-15 HP; -7 EP>
    Demonic Stool: <-4 EP>
    Snake: <-6 EP; +7 HP>

As it turns out, Thunders can be kind of difficult to aim properly. Though the bad news is that Cicero’s next attack simply misses Triton altogether, the good news is that it steers wide enough to catch Shindo—or, more precisely, Shindo’s Substitute. The Jigglimposter loses an arm and a leg and both of its eyes but remains fairly intact as Robirdo clobbers Miko with a Steel Wing to the back of the head. Shedding health quickly with more to come, Miko knows he needs to stay alive as long as possible to help his teammates. Thus, he closes his eyes and thinks health-restoring thoughts, but… something ain’t right. This isn’t working out like it’s supposed to. (I think you just pulled a Cicero, little guy.)

Snickering over their opponent’s misfortune, Snake and Rosalinda move forward to lay the smackdown on Alphonse and Lillium respectively. However, Alphonse ain’t having none of that. He uses Psychic to grab onto Snake, bash him against the ground and pivot him around just as he shoots off the Leech Seed. The Leech Seed whizzes toward Rosalinda and embeds itself in one of her spindly arms. Rosalinda looks alarmed but follows through with her Fire Punch, which knocks Lillium to the ground. The petite plant starts to pout. Yeah, the last match-up was much easier on you, wasn’t it, kiddo?

Pleased to have escaped Cicero’s Thunder just a few short moments ago, Triton waddles up to Snake and joyfully smacks her in the face with a sharp Plucking motion. As was the case with Alphonse’s Psychic, Snake’s cunning energy barriers keep the damage low. Meanwhile, Mr. Devil Poops locks eyes with Shindo and uses Hypnosis. And by that, I mean he locks eyes with Shindo’s Substitute and uses Hypnosis. And by that, I mean he stares at Shindo’s Substitute without realizing both of its eyes fell off after Cicero used Thunder. However, the Substitute’s power dupes Mr. Devil Poops and it keeps trying to lull the thing into a deep sleep, but the tactic bears no fruit. Derp. As the round ends, Lillium plunges her roots into the ground. Om nom nom. Nitrogen. Tastes like chocolate. Delicious, filthy chocolate.

    Robirdo: <-5 EP>
    Rosalinda: <LSd; -6 EP>
    Demonic Stool: <-4 EP>

Rosalinda <+3 HP> sucks back some nutrients from the soil, Snake <-3 HP> feels her Burn sizzle, Miko <-2 HP> is spared most of the Curse damage 'cause of the damage cap, Cicero <-5 HP> feels the Toxin jump in power, Miko <-0 HP> doesn't feel his Burn 'cause of the cap, Triton <+2 HP> enjoys a cool splash of water, Alphonse's <-2 HP> Burn also flares up, Cicero <-2 HP> loses some health to the Leech Seed much to Lillium's <+2 HP> delight, Rosalinda <-1 HP> also loses some damage from a pesky seed while her ally Snake <+1 HP> benefits aaaaaand, finally, Lillium's <+1 HP> Ingrain restores a speck of health.

Our intimate little clusterfuck continues as Cicero swoops over Cynder’s side of the field, breathing out a mighty Fire Blast. The hard-to-aim attack scores a partial hit on Alphonse while also singing Triton in the process. Meanwhile, Robirdo lets out a shriek and calls upon the sun to bathe the field in a bright light. Cicero rolls his eyes. You couldn’t have done that before the Fire Blast? Jeepers. Timing. Lillium, on the other hand, couldn’t be happier as her ability activates.

Meanwhile, Miko casts a penetrating glare over Mr. Devil Poops, locking him into this world… except not, because he’s just put up a Protect! Oh golly! Lillium, feeling quite agile, lets out a strange melodic ringing. However, Rosalinda smirks and gracefully gives her hand a wave. Lillium’s ringing comes to a premature end and Rosalinda lets out a jingling noise instead. Cicero, who has only just roosted right beside her, feels the Toxin leave his body. Lillium looks sour. Pulling a Rosalinda = being a spiteful butt indeed. However, karma seems to bite Rosalinda in her keester. She tries to put Triton to sleep with a Hypnosis, but the combo prevents her from putting in the concentration she needs. It’s a half-assed Hypnosis that results and one Triton is able to fight off.

The fracas continues as Alphonse bounds to Robirdo and clobbers him in the face with a ThunderPunch. Triton also delivers an attack, skidding toward Mr. Devil Poops for a wet and wild attack… only to collide with his Protect and flop over. Mr. Devil Poops cackles. Stupid top-heavy Piplup. Finally, Shindo releases an Ice Beam… and this is exactly what Snake has been waiting for. She counters with a SolarBeam, but the effect isn’t what she was expecting. The typing being what it is, the Ice-type Ice Beam rips through the Grass-type SolarBeam. The SolarBeam is obliterated and the remains of the Ice Beam collide with Snake. A lot of the wind has been taken out of its sails (especially once it passes through her Light Screen) but it’s a hit nonetheless.

    Snake’s and Rosalinda’s Reflects disappear.

    Snake: <-3 HP; -10 EP>

The battle continues as Cicero performs a Double Team. The radiant sunlight illuminates the clones, causing them to visibly flicker. It’s not too difficult to tell which Dragonite is the real deal, much to Cicero’s dismay. Robirdo spits out a Toxic at Lillium and it works, Poisoning the petite plant through and through. Miko saunters up to Demonic Stool to deliver a fierce punch, but… nope. In an embarrassing bit of physical comedy, Miko’s punch goes right through Mr. Devil Poops’s spectral body. If you thought Mr. Devil Poops was cackling before, he’s busting a gut right now. For a demonic spirit, he sure is a jovial fellow. Snake shakes her head at unfortunate pratfall and raises a Safeguard. Better safe than sorry!

Time for a little deja-vu. Grinning broadly, Lillium opens herself to the sunlight and begins to… do nothing? Huh? Oh, lookie there. Rosalinda has Snatched the Synthesis and feels new life coursing through her limbs. Lillium releases a string of shocking expletives. Oh, wow! Do you kiss your trainer with that mouth? Tapping into his Psychic powers, Alphonse easily picks out Cicero from the horde of clones and lifts him into the air before slamming him back down against the ground. The clones vanish. Triton also takes aim at everybody’s favourite punchbag Dragon, but Pokegods seem to be looking out for Cicero (which is weird because they’re usually loling in his face). The ensuing Blizzard flies high, soaring up into the sky above Cicero’s head before petering away. You got lucky, Cic. Real lucky.

Suddenly, Mr. Devil Poops hops over to Triton and begins sucking on his head as though her were a Piplup-shaped pacifier. Triton flails around before dislodging himself from the Spiritomb’s mouth, covered in saliva but ultimately safe. Welp, apparently that’s what a Dream Eater on a conscious target looks like… and it’s hella awkward. Finally, Shindo releases a jolt of current at Snake, who’s spared thanks to that there Safeguard. Snake leans back, stretches and winks. Surely you can do better than that, marshmallow boy?

Now it’s time for Snake’s Light Screen to go bye-bye.

There’s apparently no end to Lillium’s bad luck. Just as the Petilil was starting to get over that Snatched Synthesis, Robirdo swoops in bashes her with his beak! This battle is merciless. If you don’t believe me, here’s another example: Miko shoots out another Ice Beam only to have Cicero melt it with a raging Fire Blast. The attack loses a bit of steam but it still plenty powerful as it collides with Miko for some sizzly super effective damage.

Snake, who has been performing quite impressively so far, keeps up the good work with a blustery storm of jagged leaves. The leaves spiral toward Triton and cut him up good. Lillium, who looks like she wants to curl up under a blanket and go to sleep and forget about this stupid, stupid battle, curls up under a Safeguard instead. Meanwhile, Alphonse Brick Breaks Snake in the face and Triton uses Hidden Power on Rosalinda. The Hey, whaddya know! It’s super effective! Talk about luck.

While we’re on the subject of luck, let’s talk about Mr. Devil Poops’s sudden run of baaad luck. After that waste of a Dream Eater, he tries to cast a Curse upon Shindo, only to have the dilapidated remains of Shindo’s Substitute take the attack and negate its effects and it works. Shindo giggles. Dat’s too funny is pissed. The happy surly Jigglypuff releases a triple beam of fire, electricity and ice upon Rosalinda. Ice crystals rise around Rosalinda’s body, threatening to Freeze her solid, but the Safeguard and the sunlight prevent them from accumulating. Shindo snaps his fingers (lol he has none). So close!

Oh gawd, here we go again…

Rosalinda <+3 HP> leeches health from the soil, Snake <-3 HP> winces from the unrelenting ache of her Burn, Miko <-13 HP> takes a full dose of Vitamin Curse with a Burn chaser, Triton <+3 HP> receives a splash of restorative water, Alphonse <-3 HP> also rides the Burn Train to Painville, Cicero <-3 HP> is sapped by the Leech Seed while Lillium <+3 HP> benefits, Rosalinda <-3 HP> also transmits some health to her ally Snake <+3 HP> via the Leech Seed, aaaaaand, finally, Lillium <+1 HP> receives health from her Ingrain only to lose a little from the Toxin and Shindo <-3 HP> takes a sliver of Curse damage.
