♣ROUND 7♣
Insert appropriate welcome here! Back in the Stadium, everything goes crazy once more. With a red flash another Pokémon is released, this time an Oshawott called Vox. Vox. That sounds kinda harsh for the little otter, but who cares! He instantly starts to unleash a hydro pump at Sudafed, who takes the hit quite good it seems. Rolling around on the ground is good right? The stone duck doesn't lke getting wet too much, and unleashes a thunderbolt to destroy Vox. "Destroy".
[ Vox | -15 HP | -13 EP | ~ ] - [ Sudafed | -20 HP; -3 HP due to fatigue | -8 EP | ~ ]
Sudafed shows off another move in his repertoire. The mighty Volt Switch. He charges at Vox full speed, ramming him hard, only to get thrown back by the little protective bubble Vox raised just in time. That was a close one! While Vox breaths out in relief, Sudafed starts running behind Oslo. Wait, that is a legit move? Seriously? Another flash of red light and Professor Jere-whatever is back in fight! Ready to screw Vox up.
[ Vox | -0 HP | -8EP | ~ ] - [ Sudafed | -0 HP; -3 HP due to fatigue | -0 EP | Switched to Jeremiah! ]
So the Professor joins the battle again, quietly observing the current situation. We have a tiny otter there, who seems to be the enemy, a trainer shouting commands behind our back and a beam of ice directly flying at u... Wait what? Jeremiah got hit in the wings, partially freezing them. Pff, didn't want to fly anyway. He quickly recovers and starts sucking health out of Vox. Sweet Revenge! Oh, it tastes kind of blue. (Don't ask me. I don't know.)
[ Vox | -12 HP | -8 EP | ~ ] - [ Jeremiah | -10 HP; +6 HP | -10 EP | Partially Frozen (Wings) ]
------------------------------------------
...Afterwards...
Referee Notes
- Sudafed will be locked in battle at [33] and [0], as well as regenerating 1 EP per action!
- Now before someone asks, I'm aware that Volt Switch fails in the game if your opponent protects against it.
However, in ASB it's literally described as the Pokémon running back to the sidelines after the attack.
And I can't really think of a good reason why Protect would stop that (:- As if anybody would care that Volbeats Wings are frozen. Seriously, it doesn't change a thing, except slowing his Movement down a bit (:
- dabsaww will issue his commands next!
- If the Energy of a Pokémon happens to reach 0, it will lose 1 HP for every 2 EP consumed. Also, it's action pool is reduced to two per round. However, the effect of "Relax" is doubled. (From 5-10 to 10-20 EP per Relax; ADJUSTED)
Screech-Air Slash-Air Slash
I believe Sudafed has 33 HP, not 53, oui?
Okay! Jeremiah, take the Screech and use U-turn, which will switch you out and switch Sudafed back in. Sudafed, use Thunder followed by Explosion!
U-turn ~ Thunder ~ Explosion

I seriously hope I did not screw the round numbers up :D
♣ROUND 8♣
Vox ensures that his opponents know the pain he felt last round, getting zapped by a frickin' stone duck, and lets out a screech. Jeremiah responds with a nice tackle to the face, and runs off like his predecessor, who enters the battle field once again. And he doesn't look too pleased.
[ Vox | -7 HP | -6 EP | ~ ] - [ Jeremiah | -7 EP | Switched out (Sudafed)]
Pff, a stone duck is not intimidating at all. Better slice the stone with air, that's TOTALLY gonna work out. That he doesn't care about the blade of wind is just acting strong. He's completely destroyed on the inside. That's why he conjures a thunder. Wait. A thunder? The Otter gets completely annihilated by the strong electric move, but is able to stay in fight. (Yes. This is possible now. Don't think about it.)
[ Vox | -18 HP | -7 EP | ~ ] - [ Sudafed | -4 HP; -3 HP due to fatigue | -0 EP | ~ ]
Hm, Vox studies the weak points of his opponent. TIME TO STRIKE ONCE AGAIN WITH SAME MOVE! Hell yeah, he's nver going to expect this. He even comes closer to get even more damage. The wind strikes Sudafed, when it suddenly lightens up and... explodes? What. Oshawott gets thrown into the wall, leaving a crater in otter-form behind.
VICTORIOUS AT LAST! The Air Slash strategy wasn't so bad after all, eh?
And with that, Jeremiah returns to the battle field, to finish this once and for all.
[ Vox | -20 HP capped | -7 EP | ~ ] - [ Jeremiah | -30 HP due to exploding | -0 EP | ~ ]
------------------------------------------
...Afterwards...
Referee Notes
- Explosion does damage equal to the HP of a Pokémon left, rounded up/down. However, 15 is minimum.
- Oslo will issue his commands next!
- Unless overcome, Jeremiah's wings will stay frozen for 2 actions.
Keep it up, Jeremiah. Body Slam ~ Giga Drain ~ Body Slam. Sub: Shock Wave clones on the field.
Not a huge fan of your switchy antics Oslo, but eh what the hell it's working!
Lets try to freeze him

♣ROUND 9♣
This battle reached the point where people start betting on one of the combatants. However, nothing is decided yet! Vox shares my opinion and tries to combine two ice beams, but ends up shooting them consecutively. Aye, using the same move twice is not a good combo at all! At least it does some damage. Volbeat gets thrown against the wall, but calculates his next move and uses his momentum to bounce back and throw himself right into Vox' guts. Aaw.
The professor smiles and cleans his imaginary glasses.
[ Vox | -9 HP | -30 EP | ~ ] - [ Jeremiah | -19 HP | -8 EP | ~ ]
Vox gives the freezing another try. He unleashes the wrath of a Blizzard, but it doesn't work out too well. He does hit Jeremiah, but there's no freeze in sight. Jeremiah slowly approaches Vox and sucks his life force away. Ew, that had to hurt! And if that was not enough, even his wings defrost. Which is a pretty cool word if you think about it. Defrost. Defrotinationestical. Okay. I should stop at this point.
[ Vox | -12 HP | -13 EP | ~ ] - [ Jeremiah | -12 HP; +6 HP | -9 EP | ~ ]
Vox, completely exhausted by his last maneuvers has to rest a bit, while the professor charges one last time with complete force, knocking Vox into the wall. He does not look too good. And with "not so good" I mean like rolled over by a Wailord using Roll Out. And with that, we have a winner!
[ Vox | -7 HP | -0 EP | Fainted! ] - [ Jeremiah | -0 HP | -8 EP | ~ ]

...Afterwards...
And here we have it! The epic battle back came to an end. I'm glad I was allowed to ref this battle, and it included a lot of nasty strategies like a U-Turn Stone duck blow up and the Richter Combo I witnessed for the first time there. Dabsaww, you also fought good, and I hope the gods of randomness will not try to screw over every battle I ref.
With that, congratulations to Oslo! Your next challenge awaits if you know what I'm talking about (:
Another thing, Oslo gets 4 Points, Dabsaww 2, while I escape with 4.
See you next battle! *smokes a throwbomb uh throws a smokebomb*
Referee Notes
- Herpaderpa dabsaww, I rolled your freezing chance thrice, just to see if it would have happened later, but unfortunately, no. You might want to try combining different attacks, as these usually fit together better.
Good battle, dabsaww! Thanks for reffing, Puma.
Yeah good battle!
Thanks puma!!
