ASB Bar Fight! DarkestLight vs MeLoVeGhOsTs Ref: RaZoR LeAf

Have you ever seen a pokemon drunk? No. And do you know why? Because alcohol has an adverse effect on pokemon. One we will discover over the course of this battle. The battle takes place in a well stocked traditional british pub, with the tables and chairs all pushed to the outside of the room, and the ref serving behind the counter. There's a Combat Disco next door where most of the young crowd go to watch the pretty lights and listen to the music, but round here is where the good stuff happens, and our bar staff are terribly good looking (we poached them form the combat disco, with a promise of a better health care plans). At the end of every even numbered round, both battlers must choose a drink from the menu alongside their chosen attacks, for their pokemon to ingest. The drinks fall under a few different categories, and are chosen from that category at random. Each category has a different type of effect, and each drink within the category wil do something different. Note, that all the drinks on the menu are real drinks. Battlers must be over 18 (I'm british, rejoice young Americans!) or provide a decent enough Fake ID.

The Categories are as follows:

On Tap - Inebriates the body (six drinks)
Wine - Made to share (six drinks)
Cocktails - Uniquely elemental (eighteen drinks)
Spirits - Addles the brain (six drinks)

You can choose the category, but you cannot choose the drink. As each new drink is revealed, it will be added to the Main Menu as a reference.

Under the Counter - You cannot choose from this category. After 10 rounds have passed, your pokemon will have a chance to drink one of these shifty, non-standard drinks at random no matter what category they choose. The effects of these drinks can be catastrophic(ly funny) and will affect BOTH pokemon, no matter who drinks it.

But I'll observe from the outside smoking area with my bottle of Wild Fruits Kopperburg. Delicious!

Also, watch out for vodka, that stuff is mad, especially when you drink an entire bottle of the stuff and can't remember why you trashed your room. >_>;

Into a rather unassuming and quaint looking pub walks a band of loud mouthed, rough looking hooligans cheering and shouting about pokemon battles. This bunch of morons is quickly thrown outside by the heavy set bouncers in sharp suits, a gang of more well behaved people walk in. Many takes seats around the edges, but two in particular move into an open space near the bar and send out pokemon. A small Joltik and a black and green Sneasel. As the two pokemon exchange greetings, their trainers eagerly eye up the drinks menus that are handed to them by the bartender. As drinks and free nachos are served up to the spectators the trainers issue commands to their pokemon.

Joltik jumps onto a bar stool and immediately begins to charge electricity by rustling it's fur. Loki Black darts forward, jumps up over Interwebz and delivers a two hand slap to either side of the bug's face. Shocked by the sudden in-your-face attack, Interwebz's charge stops suddenly and the electricity dissipates in seconds. Loki lands back on his feet behind Interwebz, who likewise jumps down off the bar stool and scuttles around to create more distance between him and his foe again.

Loki takes a step forward, but instead of attacking, pushes himself backwards and starts to pirouette on the spot. As he spins on the spot, faster and faster forcing adrenaline through his veins, pumping energy and strength through his body. Interwebz watches the spinning. Through his compound eyes, he sees every facet of the move in glorious detail. Waiting for just the right moment, he pounces forward, curling into a ball and slamming into Loki, knocking the Sneasel down and ending it's dance.

Loki gets back up and watches his foe. Interwebs spits on both his front talons and comes at Loki, poison claws at the ready. Loki dodges to the side and flips over Interwebs, but the little bug uses it's multi-faceted vision to see the movement as Loki moves it, and reaches up, racking his sharpened tips against Loki, as the pokemon does the same with his own claws over the Joltik's back. Both pokemon cringe, but continue their attack to the end. Loki lands and looks down at his chest. The talons have dug in a little deeper than usual, resulting in some critical damage.

The two battlers place an order with the barman who nips out the back to get the ingredients he needs. Whilst he does so, the battle continues. Burning with rage, Loki Black jumps at Interwebz and lets loose a series of rough kicks and punches letting out his frustration of being cut. Interwebz buries his head under his furry body, and waits for enough energy to build up before discharging it around him, throwing Loki off with a crackling bolt of electricity.

Loki sneers, glances as his claws that are starting to glitter as an icy aura takes hold around it. He gets ready to throw a punch when there is suddenly Joltik all in his face. Interwebz throws a sneak attack, head butting Loki quickly, before Loki can throw his punch in retaliation. Interwebz gets a frost bonk on the head, but is otherwise no worse to wear as the aura melts away under the pub's central heating.

Finally, Loki brings his claws together, and raises them above his head, before bringing them both down hard on his furry spider foe. Interwebz has a burst of energy surging through his body. He darts out of the way, his agility raised enough to get him out of harms way when the time comes. And the time just came. Loki grunts as his claws crunch into the carpet

The barman returns and serves up the drinks. He mixes three different types of Rum with a variety of fruit juices, adds some ice and serves a Zombie cocktail to MeLoVeGhOsTs and Loki Black. He then serves up a shot glass of a vibrant green Absinthe to DarkestLight and Interwebz. As a result, Loki Black's primary type is changed from Dark to Ghost, whilst Interwebz becomes confused, albeit feeling like his muscles have been relieved on any kind of issues they may have had.

Having taken their drinks, the two pokemon face off, their throats warmed by the shots. Interwebz scuttles quickly forward and bits down hard and fast on Loki Black's leg. Except it's not a Sneasel leg that's getting a good chew, it's the leg of a bar stool. Whilst gnawing absent mindedly on the furniture, Loki focuses his attention of creating a shield of hard silver light. An almost transparent film sits between him and his foe, but it stays perfectly still in one place as Interwebz finishes eating the stool and stops to consider what he's doing.

Loki Black HP -0, PP -6 ; Reflect

Interwebz grumbles at the taste of wood in his mouth (lol) and stares down his foe for a moment before vanishing into the shadows. Loki can barely prepare before the Joltik reappears next to him, having cloaked himself and moved around the reflecting screen. Interwebz throws a few quick slashes Loki's way before the now Ghost type pokemon hits back with a dirty underhanded kick that tosses the bug away.

Interwebz moves to attack again, but his brain is still addled by the drink and instead of jumping to attack Loki, he starts to spit and scratch at himself, randomly biting and poking his own claws in confusion. The act of crazy self-harm is enough to clear his head of the effect, but at the same time Loki flips the bug over onto his back, and clubs him away like a golf ball.

Drinks are ordered and the barman gets to work cleaning new glasses. A plate of nachos goes out to one of the tables. Interwebz creates tiny little sparks within his fur and aims them towards Loki Black. The sparks jump from the charged spider to the ice type, and pop around the Sneasel's body. Each pop sends a tiny line of electricity at Loki's skin, causing every muscle it touches to twitch involuntarily. Loki shakes it off, and runs at the little bug, jabbing him with claws, poking him with razor point tips and generally treating him as foully as possible. That's not cricket. Incidentally, cricket isn't playing on the TV above the bar either. It's rugby.

Interwebz gets ready, ready to sneak an attack in where he can. Loki jumps into an attack, but as his foot bends on the ground, the muscles in his leg spasm uncontrollably and he stumbles forward, falling to the ground. Interwebz has already launched himself into his sneak attack, and glides over Loki's crouched form, before landing on the other side of the room without having laid a mark on his foe.

Loki growls and spins to face Interwebz. The little bug starts to rub his pincers together and begins to make a loud chirping that gets right into Loki's head, making his ears sting and his head ache. Loki steps forward holding one clw up to his head, but letting the other to frost over. Loki slaps the tiny Joltik with the ice covered blade, stopping the noise at last and sending a frightful chill up Interwebz' back.

The barman grunts, and puts two glasses on the bar. He tips a full-bodied Merlot into one glasses and mixes up a Mojito into the other before passing them on to the pokemon. Interwebz drinks down the red and feels overcome with warmth. His eyes glaze over a little, and find things aren't quite as focused as they were before. Loki ponders the leaf decorated cocktail, and notices that everything seems sharper and more focused already. Huh. He drinks the Mojito and feels his Ghost type fade away and be replaced with the verdant freshness of Grass.

Loki black charges black energy around his claws ready to pounce. Interwebz scuttles cautiously. Then a burst of speed from Loki signals his mad rush at his foe. The tiny bug type throws up a protective shield designed to completely repel all attacks. Safe within the barrier, Interwebz watches his dark type foe approach the shield, closer and closer until.. Loki slashes at the shield, shattering it and slams his claws into the little spider. The shards of the shield falls into him like daggers, and Interwebz is pummelled by the unexpected feint. With over powering force and increased strength Interwebz is knocked out, wishing he could have had just one more drink.
