well, I said I wouldn't get into any more battles until my gym team was figured out, and it WAS just yesterday, so I'm in.
1v1
Arena: Indigo Plateau
Banned moves: Up to the competitors!
DQ time: 3 days seem reasonable?
I'll flip a coin to see who goes first, both battlers PM their Pokemon to me.
Basically I'm bored and I've not reffed for AGES so this is something nice and simple to help me get back into the game!

I want revenge on you for rofl-stomping me in the Verdant Tournament.
How about the only rule is that we use Basics for this battle? I got some Pogeys that need evolving.

That's fine with me, as long as BTPoke's happy with that! Drop me a note with the Pokemon you'll be using whenever you're ready.
I was planning on using a basic anyway, so I'm cool with that.
I'll send my pokemon ASAP

According to my coin flip, BTPoke's to attack first!
(god formatting this took me about 2 hours >.>)
Alrighty, then.
Start things out with Thunder Wave for some good parahax. If they use safeguard, Switch to using Super Fang.
Next, use Hidden Power. Let's hope we get something good.
Finally, use a good Thunder.
If they use protect at all, use Work Up
Use your nimble body and dodge that electric current while getting in Top's face then follow up by increasing the sun's power and finish off with a huge blast of flames to really get things cooking!
Acrobatics ~ Sunny Day ~ Fire Blast

Round 1
Arena: Indigo Plateau
vs.
Oh, Indigo Plateau. The home to the simplest arena known to man, a plain sandy stadium with the basic arena markings drawn on top in white paint. Let's just hope that the battle that's about to take place won't be so mundane! As though to confirm my suspicions, BTPoke and Perfect Chaos step onto the battlefield in unison and somehow manage to release their Pokemon at the exact same time. After a brief flash of red, two Pokemon appear - a little female Rattata and a Larvesta with no nickname.
As the faster of the two,BTPokeJoey's Top% bristles the fur on her back and sends an impossibly quick bolt of static straight at Larvesta, who leaps surprisingly nimbly out of the way. The bolt diffuses harmlessly into the ground, leaving a small scorch mark where it hit the sand. Irritated, Top% is determined to show off her electrical prowess, but is thwarted by Larvesta's acrobatics again. How a little bug can move that quickly is beyond me.
Top%: -5 Ep .:. Larvesta: -6 Ep
***
Determined to get revenge for her previous failure, Top% calls upon her inner abilities and hones them into a group of blue orbs, then fires them straight at Larvesta. The little bug Pokemon squeals as they hit him, dousing his fluff with water. Seems she got lucky with the RNG this round! Indignant, the little bug puffs out his chest and the sun roof opens, allowing the sudden bright sunlight to enter the arena. He sighs softly as the searing heat dries his sodden fur near instantly.
Top%: -5 Ep .:. Larvesta: -8 Hp,-7 Ep
***
Top%, determined to fry the bug like she failed to during the first round, begins to build up static in the fur on her back. However, there aren't any clouds in the sky to summon a lightning bolt from, so she just stands there, looking a little fluffier than before. Larvesta just bursts into laughter, pounding the ground with his little fists. After a quick shout from Chaos, he gets his act together and sends a great star shaped burst of flame from his horns to Top%, who takes a massive blow from it. She just stands, steaming with anger, within a star shaped area of ash, a little tuft of fluff on fire like a candle.

uhm, Cynder, I don't mean to question your level of knowledge, but I don't think moisture is required to conduct electricity...
Sorry, worded that badly, I meant to refer to the fact that there weren't any clouds so thunder couldn't be summoned. Basically me trying to come up with some kind of rationalisation as to why Thunder always misses in bright sunlight! Although that's probably not even accurate either, haha. I'll reword it to make that clearer now, though.
Oh, ok. That makes more sense. Although I'm pretty sure Thunder only has 50% accuracy in Bright Sunlight, but no matter. I kind of expected PC to counter it in some way/shape/form anyway xD
How come Top didn't take any damage from Acrobatics BTW?
Nice work Larvesta. They're probably gonna try and take that sun away eventually. Let's kick it up a notch with your speed, then follow that by throwing up a protective veil and finish off with summoning a scorching hot wind
Flame Charge ~ Safeguard ~ Heat Wave
it's kind of cool that your fire resistance is nullified by that bug typing, 'cause I can use Fire type moves on you as well.
Top %, use Me First on that Flame Charge and intercept him.
Next, use Rain Dance while they're wasting their time with a Safeguard.
Finally, use BubbleBeam and do some decent damage.

Top%, still prickling over the previous round's fry-up, just glares at Larvesta, daring it to move. Just an inch. That's all. So when she sees him begin to set his fur alight, she simply copies. With a grin of triumph, she charges straight at the bug (whose charge isn't quite as strong; despite having STAB), and tackles him out of the way like a bowling pin. They both feel a good deal more limber after the attack, however, their speed has increased 1 level each. Maybe it's because of the flames warming their muscles? I've no idea; not even going to try to rationalise that one.
Top%: -7 Hp, -8 Ep, +1 speed .:. Larvesta: -9 Hp,-5 Ep, +1 speed
***
Feeling a little more triumphant now, Top% lets loose a victory cry (it'd be a little more impressive if she wasn't so, y'know, tiny and ratty?) and starts to dance around. Bemused, Larvesta shrugs this off and raises a shimmering safeguard to protect himself against any future status afflictions; however, this has no effect on the steadily increasing number of raindrops appearing through the skylight. The rain gets heavier and heavier, until Larvesta is left looking a little... disgruntled.
Top%: -10 Ep .:. Larvesta:-7 Ep +safeguard
***
Still soaking wet, Larvesta summons a sudden warm wind that blasts Top% with heat, but not only is the damage minimal due to the rain dampening its effect, the sudden warm front hitting the cold of the rain causes a strong wind to form, blasting the two Pokemon to the opposite sides of the room. Top% fires off the bubbles regardless, and they're caught by the wind and hit Larvesta for critical damage.

((btw, there was no damage from the acrobatics because I figured he'd be too busy trying to dodge the electricity to attack, and GAH I didn't know that Thunder still had a 50% chance of hitting in sunlight! I'm SURE I read somewhere that it always missed in sunlight.. Whatever, I rolled, and you were unlucky because the attack missed anyway))
Use Bubblebeam, then Thunder, and then Hyper Fang.
If they decide to use Sunny Day before you use Thunder, use Flame Wheel instead of it.
Create a large-sized clone (about 15 HP) to block that first attack, then bring back out the Sun once more and finish off by hitting him with a huge blast of flame

Happy to be back with the rain, Top% breathes a fast barrage of bubbles that tear at Larvesta, splitting him clean in half... wait, splitting him in half? The real Larvesta sits chuckling in the corner, a little tired from making the substitute, but he just thinks it's worth it to avoid getting even wetter after this godforsaken rain. Top% just looks confused, but the substitute's still standing. Barely.
Top%: -6 Ep .:. Larvesta: -15 Hp,-10 Ep, (Sub: +15 Hp, -10 Hp)
***
Confused and a little against hitting an opponent that really should have just fainted (seriously, it split in HALF), Top% hesitates. It isn't until it begins to get warmer and the rain slows that Top% decides to attack, opting for a Flame Wheel instead of a thunder in the heat. The dupe goes down, and the real Larvesta is finally visible, finishing up his act of summoning the sun. I bet this battle has been confusing meteorologists everywhere!
Top%:-5 Ep .:. Larvesta:-10 Ep (Sub: -BROKEN-)
***
With his substitute down, Larvesta decides to show his true colours and readies an angry looking burst of flame which scorches Top%, who was lucky enough not to recieve a burn. Even so, with STAB and the sunlight, that hurt a lot. Smarting, she retaliates with a fearsome bite, which cuts straight through Larvesta's exoskeleton and leaves him writhing around in pain. He looks across suspiciously to the rat, doing his best to cradle his side.

Whoa, don't mean to be a nitpicker Cyn but the Hyper Fang damage is kinda high don't you think? I mean, considering how I used a STAB attack in Sunny Day conditions, even if Hyper Fang crit under RNG conditions, I would assume it couldn't do more than 16-18%.
Maybe you have a different reffing criteria but I would just like some clarification before posting my next moves.
GAH sorry, I got it mixed up with Super Fang! Will fix now. Sorry about all the mistakes, by the way, god that was stupid.
Nicely done, Larvesta.
Roast him up some more then let's use the power of the sun to blast him furthur and finish off with healing yourself up
Subs: If he tries to cool things down again by making it rain then forget the fire and solar assault and use some extreme screeching to make him regret taking the sun away and finish off with a beam of dizzying lights
Fire Blast ~ Solar Beam ~ Morning Sun
Subs: If he uses Rain Dance at any time.
Bug Buzz ~ Signal Beam
you're doing good, top%.
Use Bide to absorb all damage. Release the bide after the solar beam.
Then use taunt before they can heal.
Curses, this isn't going to end well.
EDIT: Well technically, wouldn't Top% absorbing the damage count as two actions since you want him to absorb both the Solar Beam and Fire Blast and the third action would be him releasing it?

In what appears to be a bit of a flashback to this time the previous round, one Pokemon takes a strong attack and the other does absolutely nothing in response. Except, this time, the tables have changed slightly and instead of a faker that Larvesta conjured taking the hit, the real Top% takes the full brunt of a fire blast; but oddly enough, she looks completely undeterred. In fact, she begins to gain a an orange tinted glow, similar to the flame she was just hit by.
Top%: -18 Hp, -7 Ep .:. Larvesta: -11 Ep

Larvesta, taking full advantage of the wonderful weather and Top%'s idleness, spreads the sunbeams on his neck and absorbs the already strong sunlight into his body. During all of this, Top% remains calm and sustains the energy she's absorbed from the previous attack, and readies herself for the inevitable blast to come. It turns out that her stoicism was completely founded, the blast of solar energy that Larvesta creates is absolutely massive and encompasses Top% in an incredibly bright white glow. She shudders, holding the energy she's absorbed back,
Top%:-13 Hp, -7 Ep .:. Larvesta:-40 Hp (cap reached), -10 Ep

Both sides are tired now, and take a moment to rest. Larvesta begins to relax in the sun, spreading himself out in its glow, but Top% begins to gloat about her success in the previous action with the bide, which leaves Larvesta feeling a lot less relaxed. Instead, he shuts her up with a quick but relatively light blow to the head. And with that, Larvesta's safeguard falls!

Thanks for reffing this battle, Cynder. It was a fun one xD
Good game, PC. Don't worry, you'll probably beat me next time.
Indeed, thanks Cynder for the reffing.
Same to you BT, GG. *sigh* Guess I have to figure out some new strategies in general now.
