Charging into battle! Ayeun vs. Puma (Ref: RL)

Alright Ayeun! Let's do this!

I shall go for something creative here, since it's a quick 1 vs. 1 challenge.

=> I send out first, attack second.
=> DQ Time at 5 days.
=> Damage Cap at 45%.

For the Arena, let's try something new. At least I think it is.

The abandoned Powerplant
Apart from the usual roads, the Powerplant seems to be a good stop for a quick battle. The fight will be inside of the Powerplant, direct influence on the structure might cause it to give in, disabling the following arenaeffect:
A shut off generator stands in the middle of the room. Player may decide to attack the generator, to power it up. After enough damage is done, (about 10-15%, the generator is an Electric type. Still, it's up to the ref) the power goes back on, lighting the whole arena up while bolts of lightning are fired randomly between rounds. These may target a random Pokémon, or damage the structure. (Yes. This is possible now.)

I'll choose Spinerella, my female Joltik with Compoundeyes. (:

And position yourself so that any attacks directed AT the generator hit you.

Aw, that's a pretty good tactic.
BUT NOT SOOO FAST!

Spinerella, that's what we've been training for our whole life.
Start things out with a Thunderwave, to slow this beast down a bit.
Afterwards, let yourself get bitten, but shoot a toxic blob right down his throat to ensure the hit. Afterwards, hit him with Cross Poison, that should deal a lot of damage now.

Round One

In a dark and relatively quiet power plant, two trainers stand with their pokemon on either side of a generator. Newcomer Puma and his Joltik and veteran Ayeun and her Deino. Commands are issued and this one on one battle begins. Determined that no attacks strike the generator and power it up, Fus moves around with Spinerella, constantly keeping the tiny bug in his line of sight. This proves an advantage when it comes to attack, for both pokemon. Fus opens his mouth and with a roar, sends a blast of pure draconic energy out in a powerful pulse. The burst washes over Spin', sending her bristles up in shock and causing cries of a thousand dragons to echo in her mind. Still, Spin isn't about to take the attack lying down, and she strikes back at her foe, ensnaring him with several tendrils of highly charged electricity. Each tendril snakes around a muscle, and Fus finds all his limbs start twitching without warning, as paralysis sets in.

Angered, Fus grunts and stumbles forwards, seeing his foe isn't attacking he gets his Hustle on and though Spin moves a little she leaves herself wide open for attack. The Deino flicks her off the floor with his nose and chomps down on the little bug. As tiny as she is, Spineralla lets out a high pitched buzzing squeal, but manages to secrete a horribly infectious poison directly into her foes mouth. Fus spits the bug out and tries to spit the poison out as well, but it's too late. The poison quickly spreads through Fus' blood stream and starts to work on him, gradually eating away at his health.

Finally Spinarella moves to attack. Skittering across the floor like something out of a horror film, she runs up Fus' leg onto his back and delivers a fast double slash, raking poison tipped claws in an x-mark across the tiny dino's shoulder blades. Fus growls and shakes the bug off, catching her incapacitated as she lands upside-down on the floor. He pulls her into his mouth again, and instead of chomping down just once, chews the electric pest around a few times, crushing her beneath huge flat teeth and royally covering her in spit. Finished with and spat out, Fus feels the first minor itch of the toxic poisoning, whilst Spinerella deals with the slobber.

That worked out pretty well!
Let's continue this, we shall try to power the generator, but first, since this Zweilous stands in our way, we need to sort this problem out. Paralyze him once more, so we outspeed him by a looot.
Afterwards, position yourself near the Generator and Discharge twice to shock both of them, the Generator and Zweilous.

If he dares to throw nasty status effects at us, Protect against it at any given time, however, if he tries to outsmart us with using Thunderwave, set up a substitute instead.

Retreat from the generator. If he wants to attack it, let him.

Round Two

Spinerlla skitters around, moving quicker than her opponent she is able to squeeze off another rope of electricity which wraps Fus up like a gift. The tendrils dig deeper into the muscle and cause the paralysis that Fus is suffering from to become more intense. Despite this, Fus is still able to push through the aches in his muscles, and slurps up the little bug once more. Rolling her around in his mouth, a little bit of a gargle, and finally spitting her back out.

Spin grimaces, and slides/skuttles over to the generator, intent on causing as much damage to her opponent and the arena as possible. She climbs up the side of the generator and lets loose a powerful discharge of electrical energy. The burst catches Fus as he approaches, and at the same time is absorbed into the generator, causing the monitor to display a sudden surge in power. Fus reaches out and bites down hard on Spin... or at least he would have if he hadn't mistaken a large rivet for the bug. In his haste to attack, he's picked the wrong target. Still, at least it tastes better.

Having given his jaw a right old work out, Fus backs away from the generator, putting as much distance between himself and his foe as possible. But he's just not fast enough to avoid another burst of discharging electricity from Spin, who charges the generator up another notch at the same time. Fus retaliates with a pulse of ancient dragon energy that knocks Spin off the generator and back to the floor. The generator makes a beep, which catches the attention of both pokemon. An automated voice speaks from within the machine. WARNING! Energy build up at 20%, immediate discharge imminent.. The generator sparks, and energy courses through the various cables running out of it, up to rods that hang from the rafters of the warehouse. The rods light up, and begin their own discharge, sending sparks out in every direction. The sparks come close to striking both Spin and Fus, but as the discharge is only short, they manage to avoid any damage.

- Despite the increase in chance of paralysis, the randomiser is still in favour of Ayeun.
- But not in favour of Hustle, which is why Fus missed on the second turn
- The Generator took two direct hits from the Discharge, causing it to spike at 20%, and discharge 5% back. The generator will continue to discharge at every 15% it receives, but will feed back a quarter of its total charge. So if it reaches 40%, it will feedback 10% and so on.

Okay, that was not the result I hoped the Discharge would get. Whatever! Let's get this rolling! Spinnerella, won't loose that easily! Stop the Dark Pulse with Struggle Bug, and send a Thunderwave afterwards. Then, hide behind the generator to avoid the dragon breath and charge it, and if possible, (meaning if hiding doesn't count as an command), duplicate yourself! If everything works as planned, we shouldn't even get damaged this round! (It's not going to, but let's be optimistic)

My apologies for not reffing sooner, life has been a bit busy of life. The UK has had it's longest heatwave for 7 years and I work in a camping shop. You can imagine how busy it's been lately. I'l get the next round up for you by the end of this day.

Round Three

It's time for Spin to take the offensive now, and she stands before Fus ready to kick some arse. Well she would, if not for the fact that she is trying to deflect an attack that hasn't come yet. Fus is still suffering under the effects of strong paralysis, so has to work harder to attack. Finally it comes, a powerful pulse of blackness that envelops Spineralla only for it to be swept away by a sudden flash of red energy. The Dark Pulse dissipates, and a lasso of lightning streaks out towards Fus and once more entangles him, digging deep into his muscles and causing them to spasm with random bursts of paralysis. Spin' snickers to herself at her opponents misfortune.

Fus HP -4, PP -5 ; SAtk-1 ; Heavy Paralysis

Taking a moment to catch her breath after executing a combo, Spin makes a move towards the Generator, but given her size and the distance to the other side of the powerhouse, she'll never be able to make it in time and execute her trainers commands. She shakes her head and continues to scuttle to the Generator, finally climbing onto it and getting around to the back where she sits for a well earned rest. Fus on the other hand isn't doing so well, as his legs refused to respond to his brain and collapse underneath him in a fit of numbness.

Spin chills out on the reverse of the power plant, with no energy left in her this round to attack further. Fus struggles with the paralysis that has yet again chosen to ail his body. The little Dragon can do nothing but sit as still as possible and try to ride it out.

Fire off a few Signal Beams! If Fus comes closer or decides to inflict nasty statuses, go for a protect the first time, and for double team on the second. Counter the third attempt with faint attack if necessary.

Round Four

Par

Fus shuffles to the far side of the generator, whilst Spineralla hangs on to the back of the opposite side. The Joltik leans out over the edge and shoots of a Signal Beam that knocks the side of Fus just before he makes cover. Taking a hard hit, Fus twitches and endures another burst of complete paralysis unable to send back an attack.

Spin ducks her head out again. No sign of her foe, but does she wait and attack when he's visible, or forget it? Fus pokes his head out and burps out a cloud of stinky dog breath. Spin wretches and shoots back another beam which again strikes Fus who is too slow to duck and avoid it. Spin coughs and shudders. A ripple of pain and numbness washes over her and she realises that she too has been partially paralysed.

Fus HP -14, PP -3 ;

Again, Spin pokes her head out, and again Fus does the same. A cloud of breath and a beam of flashing light are again interchanged.

Spinnerella, now it's your time to shine! We take this battle home! We want an instant knock out, before anything bad can happen, and if we get paralyzed I'm throwing my computer out of the window. Anyway, speed yourself up with Agility and X-Scissor this dragon, afterwards, bounce back and shoot another Signal Beam! If you get paralyzed, do these things as soon as you can!

Round Five

It's down to the last hurdle, with both pokemon on their last legs. Spin, less paralysed than her foe moves to attack, but this must be major hax going on, she is struck by a bout of muscle spasms! Fus on the other hand, though must slow has a little more luck, blasting the generator with a cloud of stink breath

Generator +7 Charge

Spin shakes off the paralysis and charges at her foe. She makes a leap for Fus' head. A beam of dazzling light marks her target and she lands, crossing both claws across the baby Dragon's head. It's enough to knock Fus out cold. The Deino falls and Spinerlla is left standing, albeit panting a great deal. The battle is over, and the Generator ids switched off.

- Spin did get paralysed in that first turn, but carried on the rest of the combo despite the speed boost of agility. Had it done full damage, Fus would have lost 28HP in total
