Default DB versus DarkestLight [Ref: Crystal Tears]

I'm new to this so...yeah. I hope I'm doing this right.

    2 vs. 2 (Single Battle)
    Picks First - Myself
    Attacks First - My opponent
    DQ - One week
Arena - The "Grass Field" arena from the Indigo Pokémon League in the anime. (Do I make these up or is there some sort of list that I can choose an arena from?)
Banned Moves - No HP or Energy direct recovery moves, or Attract...from what I can tell no one uses that anyway but whatever.

I'll be starting with Severus, my Skorupi (M).

I aven't had a battle in ages, my the only one I'm in is...drying away.. so heck yeah. DL's the name.

Since yer using a first form, I'll use one too. Lets go with...Raynar, my M Corphish!

Raynar, let's do it to it. Start with a Taunt. That'll keep Severus coming at me. Then follow through with a Swords Dance, and end with Ancient Power

(Thanks =D it's good to meet someone here.)

"Take the Taunt Severus, and merely watch as Raynar does his Swords Dance. Then, parry off the Ancientpower with a Brick Break, whether it is by breaking rocks coming at you or blocking Raynar's pincer as he aims to strike you. Follow up by delivering a Sludge Bomb to his face and then blasting him away from you with a Dark Pulse."

MWHAHAHAHA! Making another dramatic return from yet another random disappearance, Crystal Tears appears on the ordinary Indigo League field to ref another exciting match. She makes note that again, she’s reffing for DarkestLight (Which she’s done… Often… Hmm…) who’s said Weba… Weba… Welcome back? Um, thanks? If she understood that correctly...

The match begins with Raynar, DarkestLight’s loyal Corphish throwing insults left, right and center towards the innocent little Skorupi (4 ENG @ Raynar) named Severus. Well, the poison type doesn’t take to kindly to this, and blatantly ignores orders. He charges forward, his stinger tail appendage glowing white before it slams into Raynars skull (7 DMG @ Raynar, 4 ENG @ Severus)! Raynar stumbles back, stunned.

Still rather peeved at Raynar, and happily watching the dazed water type attempt get over the pounding he just received. Skorupi calls forth a bomb of sludge that shoots through the air and splats down on Corphish (12 DMG @ Raynar, 3 ENG @ Severus). Well, Raynar has extremely bad luck, because the poison from the sludge gets into his mouth, and has managed in poisoning him. Not badly though. Holding off on the assault at the moment, Corphish because to intricately dance around (as best a Corphish can) and in return, the Gods bless him with more power (4 ENG @ Raynar).

Now here is a true show down, a peeved Skorupi and a powered up (yet poisoned) Corphish. Raynar slams his claws on the ground, which cause a stream of highly propelled rocks to fly towards Severus. Severus takes the hit, to angry to do anything else (12 DMG @ Severus, 3 ENG @ Raynar). However, Skorupi returns the *lovely* favour by charging up a nasty Dark Pulse and firing the pulsating orb at Raynar. Who is hit hard (8 DMG @ Raynar, 4 ENG @ Severus)!

Raynar’s pain amuses Severus, greatly. Mufufufufu…

Raynar goes on the defensive, concentrating for only a moment, multiple Corphishes appear on the field, surrounding Severus in a semi-circle shape (3 ENG @ Raynar). Severus seems undaunted, and despite the odds not being in his favour, he fires a round of 1000 needles towards one of the water types. Oh nos! The poisonous needles fly through a clone (2 ENG @ Severus) and Raynar is left unharmed as his clones disappear.

Action two commences with Severus slamming the ground with his tail. The ground around Raynar shifts and churns while Corphish closes his eyes and begins to glow and form a thicker shell (3 ENG @ Raynar). Four massive stones shoot up from the ground a second after, sealing poor Corphish inside (4 DMG @ Raynar, 2 ENG @ Severus).

The final attacks are issued and everything starts again! Raynar bursts through the stone slab, shattering one completely as he flies towards Severus and smacks right into him (13 DMG @ Severus, 3 ENG @ Raynar). Skorupi growls, enraged by the assault, his tail becomes engulfed in a deep green flame and it crashed down on Raynar at amazing speed (10 DMG @ Raynar, 3 ENG @ Severus).

Tapping into his more graceful, softer side; Raynar begins to dance with surprisingly elegance. The crystal clear sky above begins to darker as suddenly dark, looming clouds appear and rain begins to pour down onto the field (3 ENG @ Raynar). Though Severus would much prefer the arena dry, he only uses the new weather to help fuel his anger. He charges up a large, black orb that seems to waver unstably before it is fired at Corphish. The poor water type is hit by the explosive attack (8 DMG @ Raynar, 4 ENG @ Severus)and sent flying several feet before he crashes into the ground…

Raynar slowly recovers from the hard hitting blow and looks angrily at his opponent. Skorupi seems to be trying to overcome his irritability, and has lost some focus on his opponent. Corphish grins, he opens and shuts his claws a couple of times threateningly before reaching down and grasping a chunk of rock from the rock tomb. With haste he tosses the first rock and grabs another all the while speeding towards the scorpion. Severus gawks, his focus coming again as a barrelling chunk of stone slams him in the face! Skorupi is hit again and again by numerous rocks before FINALLY Raynar appears, furious by the beating he has taken, slams his two claws onto Severus’s head and back (26 DMG @ Severus, 8 ENG @ Raynar)!! Severus is stunned, his anger knocked right out of him along with most of his sanity! But alas, something still remains, as Severus becomes engulfed in black flames and curls back his tail. Raynar’s eyes go wide as the scorpion tail smashes his face inward! Raynar is sent toppling (35 DMG [DAMAGE CAP] @ Raynar, 3 ENG @ Severus).

Both Pokemon attempt to recover, bashed, battered and critically wounded.

I liked the reffing overall, but shouldn't Payback have done more damage? I know he had hardened and all, but 10 seems a little too low considering this description in one of the Towers.

Payback – DARK – A sweeping tackle that deals double damage if the user has just been hurt by the enemy.
    Fatigue: Moderate
    Damage: Good to Excellent
    Accuracy: Good
Other: More damage is dealt if the user has just been hit (that round)

Sorry if I'm being a nuisance but it'd mean a lot if you'd take a look at it. =)

Oh, oops. Lol. Um, I went with that description and the one from the attack dex on psypokes.

"if this attack is used after the foe's attack, the attack's power is doubled." In which case, the base power of that attack is 5, so I just added on another 5 to get 10....

In which I thank you for pointing out my flaw ^^'' I suddenly realized why the damage reading was so outrageous; I forgot to change the damage and apply it to Galick Smash.

    ^^'' Many apologies!

    *runs off to fix*

Severus is happy, he has caused his opponent serious pain. Raynar groans, his body broken by the brutal attacks he has suffered through this match. He watches warily as Severus picks up one of the rocks which were tossed in the round before. Raynar knows what’s going to happen, he clamps his claws onto a couple of chunks and prepares. Severus flings the rock (4 ENG @ Severus) at Raynar, who in turn, begins to throw as many rocks as he can so he can deflect Skorupi’s attack. The rocks slam into each other yet Corphish’s attack is continuous, so eventually large chunks come barrelling down on Skorupi (14 DMG @ Severus, 4 ENG @ Raynar)!

Severus groans as he knocks one of the rocks off of him. He charges at his opponent, who watches slightly worried as that damned scorpion tail begins to drip with poison. Skorupi slams Corphish once again with that mighty tail; causing good damage (9 DMG @ Raynar, 2 ENG @ Severus). Poor Corphish groans, that attack has deepened his poisoning. However, the groan only lasts a second before Raynar slams his claws into Severu’s head from either side (18 DMG @ Severus, 5 ENG @ Raynar)! Dazing the poor poison type!

Barely alive, Raynar watches as Severus’s fang like… Utensils glow black, and suddenly charges. Raynar lifts up his claw and readies himself as the poison type leaps! Severus crunches down hard on Raynar’s body (7 DMG @ Raynar, 4 ENG @ Severus) and then has that readied claw crash down on him (13 DMG @ Severus, 3 ENG @ Raynar)!

Both Pokemon fall away from each other; bodies extremely tired and beaten. Skorupi however, pants heavily, and gets to his feet. But Raynar lies still on the ground, defeated.

Change groans as he tries again, this time his fist becomes encased in a gleaming coat of steel, before he zooms forward and smacks Severus right in the face (1 DMG @ Severus, 2 ENG @ Change) . Skorupi had managed to endure (2 ENG @ Severus) the attack and live to the finall action.

Now, it seems that fate has finally caught up to the little poison Pokemon. Tyrogue doesn’t hesitate at all, before Severus can even begin to focus to cast a confuse ray, he’s slammed by a super fast strike (2 DMG @ Severus, 1 ENG @ Change). As Clayr appears on the field, the battle begins again. She rushed forward, spewing wicked blue flames from her mouth (3 ENG @ Clayr) just as a golden shield encases Change and completely absorbs the attack (7 ENG @ Change). Clayr growls; backing up a bit as Change smirks.

Hoping not to loose any momentum, Change leaps off the ground and just manages to slam his fists onto the grass as a purple beam thwacks into him and sends the fighter flying ([13 DMG @ Change, 4 ENG @ Clayr)! Change groans, but manages to smile as the ground begins to quake and break apart, rocks shoot up from the ground and toss the fire-type around like she’s nothing, before finally resting (15 DMG @ Clayr, 5 ENG @ Change).

Tyrogue takes a semi-defensive stance as the challenger Clayr flips over and charges. Doing numerous flips and twirls to gain speed and power, Clayr’s iron covered tail smashes into Change’s face (10 DMG @ Change, 5 ENG @ Clayr)! However, Change catches the Vulpix’s tail and spins her about before smashing her hard into the ground (20 DMG @ Clayr, 3 ENG @ Change)

Ok Change, let's keep it going!

First off, Hidden Power. Let's see what happens today.

Then, Mud Slap to her face.

    End with a Vacumn Wave.

If at Any time she tries to use a Fire Move, even Sunny Day, throw Rocks at her relentlessly.

Seeing if his luck is good or bad, Change decides to risk a Hidden Power. He concentrates, and soon enough white orbs appear around him, circling slowly as they change to a multitude of colours before finally settling on green. Change opens his eyes, and just as he does, the orbs fly away from him and slam into Clayr (3 DMG @ Clayr, 3 ENG @ Change). Clayr chuckles, as the attack barely even phased her. She fires another purple beam at Change, who is struck (13 DMG @ Change, 4 ENG @ Clayr) and skids back a couple of feet.

Tyrogue reaches down to the ground and begins to clump dirt and moist soil found underneath the grass together; to form a sort of glob of semi-wet mud (1 ENG @ Change). He looks up and frowns. Clayr is gone; cautiously he steps forward, wondering where his opponent could be. The ground beneath him suddenly gives away and then he is sent flying into the air as a red blur slams into him (8 DMG @ Change, 4 ENG @ Clayr)! Clayr has successfully attacked from below, ruining Change’s chance at a mud-slap.

Change snarls as he lifts himself off the ground. He quickly clenches his left hand into a fist and brings his right out as if he’s grabbing onto Clayr who is several feet away. Taking Clayr by total surprise, as he wrenches his right had inwards; Clayr is sent flying towards Tyrogue. Vulpix yelps as the left hand smashes into her back, sending her to the ground painfully (7 DMG @ Clayr, 1 ENG @ Change). She rolls over, her eyes glowing bright purple as an extremely familiar beam fires from her mouth and strike’s Tyrogue’s face, sending him head on heels backwards (13 DMG @ Change, 4 ENG @ Clayr)!

Well then. Let's make life hard for Clayr.

Seeing as she's trying to weaken us-we'll make her lose strength.

Rock Slide first, so she blocks it. Then Earthquake~And then Rock Slide again. We're gonna hit her one of those time..

And Grass Hidden Power. Pfft that's rich xD.

Change seeks to turn this battle around; he quickly starts to gather up some rocks before whipping them at Clayr (3 ENG @ Change)! Clayr gulps and closes her eyes, yet as golden dust hits her face, she opens her eyes to see the rocks being incinerated by the protective shield (7 ENG @ Clayr).

Grumbling, Tyrogue tries again, leaping up and slamming his fists onto the ground, he makes the ground quake and break apart (5 ENG @ Change). Vulpix nervously watches and feels the energy drain from her as the golden shield appears once again and keeps her safe from the earthquake (7 ENG @ Clayr).

Change is furious now, and belts a few more chunks of rock at the fire type he’s facing. She tries to summon the shield again, and the first rock is block (7 ENG @ Clayr). However, the second rock breaks through, shattering the golden aura and leaving Clayr vulnerable! Clayr yelps and whimpers as she is bashed over and over again by rocks (11 DMG @ Clayr, 3 ENG @ Change).

    Argh. Annoying.

"The moment you see him make a move for Vacuum Wave, fire a swiftHypnosis at him right before he uses it. But if you get hit, do it immediatley afterwards anyway; we need him to fall asleep. If you succeed, a Will-o-Wisp shall suffice, hopefully not waking him up, and finish the round with a Sunny Day.

Before Clayr can react, gravity seemingly works against her and she is flung towards Change, who happily responds by nailing her right in the face (7 DMG @ Clayr, 2 ENG @ Change)! Clayr grumbles and gets up, she stares at Change, unknown to him; the glowing purple eyes he sees now are emitting a frequency that triggers his brain to think its time to sleep (4 ENG @ Clayr). Change yawns slightly and falls onto his back, asleep.

Happy that her opponent is now asleep, Clayr trots over to him and expels searing blue and white flames onto the fighting type (2 ENG @ Clayr). Change doesn’t even twitch; he’s dead to the world (+3 ENG @ Change).

As the Tyrogue continues to sleep, Vulpix looks up into the sky and calls for the sun (3 ENG @ Clayr). Reacting to her prayer, the sun breaks through the little bit of remaining cloud and begins to heat up the arena. Change however, it oblivious to this as he turns over (+3 ENG @ Change).

Clayr rushes forward, her body glowing a bright red colour to signify a power charge, she stops only a few feet from Change and suddenly a giant ball of flames erupts from her and smashes into the fighter. Who appears to be enduring the attack (4 ENG @ Change)and therefore receiving significantly less damage (10 DMG @ Change, 5 ENG @ Clayr)! Change snaps awake and winces as his burns have worsened.

Change closes his eyes; the world around him fades for a split second before the darkness gives away to a vision (6 ENG @ Change). He sees Clayr, though the image is blurry, with deep purple eyes before the scene changes to the ground rumbling and Clayr evading a large rock pillar. He struggles, forcing his mind to get a clearer picture. The fog surrounding the visions begins to thin, and zoom in on the fire type. Her thoughts: panicky yet somewhat calm float into his mind… Left, right, left. Keep in the air as long as you can… Seeing as though Change foresaw the coming Confuse Ray, he is not fooled (4 ENG @ Clayr).

Knowing the outcome of this round, Change grins and decides test Clayr’s reactions with his own powerful attack. As his burns ache and beg him to quit, he slams his fists and feet on the ground. Causing a powerful earthquake to rock the arena. He watches, remember his visions and her thoughts and then it happens. Clayr leaps off the ground, evading one rock (2 ENG @ Clayr) that has shot up into the air before being smashed by another! She hits the ground and rolls into a large crack, falling to its bottom, which is five feet down. The crack is long and wide in most places, but narrows near others (16 DMG @ Clayr, 5 ENG @ Change)

Groaning, Clayr gets to her feet painfully and shakes her head, making the dizziness disappear. She looks around, surprised and slightly daunted to see that she has fallen into a deep fissure. Vulpix looks up, frightened to see Change the Tyrogue holding a couple of rocks. She gulps, and begins to dig furiously into the side of the wall as the rocks come tumbling down. One rock, two rock, three, four... Barely missing, until finally one tags her on her behind (5 DMG @ Clayr, 3 ENG @ Change), but she disappears then, into the ground (4 ENG @ Clayr).

Change leans over: trying to spy if Clayr was pinned of if she escaped. Clueless, the fighter is, to the shifting dirt a couple feet behind him, which gives way to reveal a dirtied and rather peeved Vulpix. Clayr holds in a growl and lets her ghostly powers take over. Her eyes turn a dark shade of purple, and just as Change turns around to see the possessed fire type, the energy lashes out at him, tormenting his mind (4 ENG @ Clayr). Tyrogue grumbles, grasping his head as cynical laughter and screams echo in his head while the world spins out of control. He tries to focus, his master's faint commands still linger in his mind, he glares at what he hopes is Clayr. The blur of colour zooms towards him, and he delivers a hearty punch! Clayr gives out a startled cry and falls to the ground, her face aching (6 DMG @ Clayr, 2 ENG @ Change)!

Clayr groans, getting to her feet once again, she is knocked to the ground again as Change delivers a powerful, ailment-fuelled tackle (14 DMG @ Clayr, 4 ENG @ Change)! Vulpix falters, her body is beaten and bruised, and she is tired. She collapses to the ground, defeated by Change, the Tyrogue.
