Name: Shayna Xanthrope (people call her Shay)
    Age: 18
    Race: Human
    Gender: Female
    Origin: Spira
Appearance: Like the picture, only she has a large black messenger bag going from her right shoulder to her left hip. Obviously her head would also be attached to her body... Shayna’s hair is a really dark brown with red tips, her fringe being quite long and the rest being layered, not touching her shoulders and flicks out to the side a little. Her eyes are bright blue and seem to sparkle when she’s in a good mood. Her gloves reach her elbows and are fingerless, including the thumbs. She’s quite short for her age, standing at about 5’3’’, although she is stronger than she appears to be. In her messenger bag, she also keeps a woollen jacket that goes down to just about where her shorts stop. Her Shuriken are strapped to her back, lose enough that she can get to them quickly, but tight enough that they won’t come flying off. The rest is pretty much as you see in the picture, really...
Personality: Shay is a bubbly young girl that enjoys the company of others. She is very much a tomboy, enjoying blitz ball and hanging out doing “guy” things. She is quite talkative, seeming to know exactly what to say at the right time, but if she doesn’t really know you, this is usually just a distraction. Shay is a thief, using her innocent looks to her advantage. She is quick witted, sharp minded and cunning. However, she doesn’t always know quite when to stop, and has been nearly caught on numerous occasions. In this respect, you could call her quite the adrenaline junkie, feeding off the excitement and possible profit. In general, she is quite a pleasant person to be around and despite the fact she hates to share, she does care deeply for those she finds deserves her sympathy and friendship.
    Weapon Style: Spira
    Weapon Type: Shuriken x2
Weapon: Like this, except they are about 60cm in diameter, the same silver colour as pictured, but with blue tips (similar colour to her eyes). Also, the hole in the middle is bigger in diameter, with another ring in the center, with thin spokes to hold it together, for grip.
History: Shayna grew up in Luca, the heart of Blitz ball and urban life. Being the eldest of 5 children, her parents found it rather difficult to provide for them all, taking Shay’s adorable talkative charm to distract people, whilst either her father or one of her siblings robbed them. As she grew older, she learnt to do it by herself, often targeting the harbour and unsuspecting blitz ball spectators. Hearing that things from Ivalice sell for a much higher price in Spira, she persuaded her friends to join her on a little adventure. Having been there for about a month now and happy with her spoils, she has boarded the Silver Zephyr, convinced that it is heading back to somewhere in Spira and completely unaware that is a warship. Her friends, unsure of the Zephyr, are likely to be still in Ivalice, or on the right ship back to Spira. Currently, Shayna is stowed away with the battle Chocobos aboard the Silver Zephyr, blissfully unaware of their destination.
    Other: Erm...

    ~ Shayna Xanthrope – Babysitting Chocobos~

The stowaway sits quietly and reasonably comfortably, hidden nicely behind bails of straw meant for feeding the chocobos, having created herself a chair out of it. At first, they showed hostility towards her, the shuriken looking particularly threatening to the war-trained birds, but they soon got used to her, even if she had to use her supply of apples to persuade them. ‘People are so much easier to gain the trust of.’ She thinks to herself, petting the beak of a particularly friendly chocobo.

Shayna yawns, the light in the room beginning to dim from the small window near the ceiling. This journey was much more boring than the one going to Ivalice, especially as her friends had decided to ditch her. What was wrong with this ship? It flew, didn’t it? Of course it would be heading to Spira, where else would it want to go?

She really had made this place her own for the journey. The straw was perfectly shaped for her to stretch out and be comfy, her shuriken lay next to her and a few of her more exciting treasures are scattered around her, catching her eye every now and again. She closes her eyes, a little tired, although mostly of boredom. ‘I swear the journey to Ivalice was shorter than this...’

Her eyes open abruptly as what she guessed was the ship’s warning alarms begin to sound. Confused, Shayna scrambles to her feet, climbing the straw bails to get a better look out the window. Her eyes widen in shock as she gets a glimpse of the sheer amount of Mist and the high winds battering the airship. Suddenly, she looses her footing as the airship suddenly drops to a nearly vertical angle, crashing into the wall, her shuriken barely missing her legs. The chocobos cry out in panic, also unable to stand at such a strange angle, flapping their wings and looking flustered.

“This can’t be good...” She says aloud, reaching out and grabbing her messenger bag, attempting to stash her spoils back inside. She freezes to the spot as she hears a loud CRACK from above her, noticing a series of cracks appearing along a wall and across the ceiling. Carefully, she straps the first Shuriken to her back, grabbing the second and hurrying to secure it as the cracks deepen, visibly dividing the room.

She hurries to the nearest chocobo, stumbling as the ship lurches forwards. She climbs onto it, clinging to the feathers around its neck, talking to it in an attempt to calm it. As the floor gives way beneath them, it is only then that Shayna begins to worry about the situation she is in. “Chocobos CAN fly, right?”

The next few moments become a blur as she tumbles from the sky, her knuckles white as she grips hold of the chocobo, passing out seconds before hitting the floor. As she regains consciousness, she groans, her head gently throbbing, the cold suddenly hitting her, unsure how long she has been asleep. She sits up slowly, her face draining of colour as she sees the sheer amount of blood covering her body. Realising she isn’t really in pain, she checks her stomach, finding that there is only a small bruise forming. ‘That’s a relief...’ Slowly, she stands up, her legs shaking, looking beside her to find the chocobo that she had tried to hitch a ride on splattered against a rock. “Now I know... Chocobos can’t fly...”

She looks around, gasping as she tries to take in the sheer amount of destruction. Bodies litter the rocky ground, bloody and battered, most dead or dying. There were a few others as lucky as she was that seemed mostly unhurt. ‘At least they’re alive.’ She thinks, taking her jacket from her messenger bag and putting it on, noticing that one of her Shuriken is missing.

She frowns, scanning her surroundings for her missing weapon. Spotting it, she hurries to where it is lodged, hoping to beat any scavengers. She cringes as she finds it stuck quite far into someone’s back, a crew member by the looks of things. Taking a quick look around, she swiftly removes it, strapping it to her back. The man’s pocket catches her eye and she carefully removes his wallet, opening it to find a fair amount of money inside. “Sorry... It was an accident... Thanks for your money... Have a nice time at the farplane.” She says, trying her best to at least try to sound mournful.

Shayna’s head turns as she hears a voice calling out and the sound of the person falling over. She watches carefully, a young lady coming into view, holding onto a piece of metal to support herself. Glancing back at the dead guy, her subconscious speaks to her. ‘You just stole a dead man’s wallet, the least you could do is go help someone, even if she is from Ivalice’. She sighs, guilt sinking into her stomach. She hurries over to the girl, extending a hand out, gesturing for her to take it.

Shayna frowns as the girl just stares at her, a confused expression lining her face. She rolls her eyes, a little annoyed that her rare feeling of generosity is being ignored. “I’m just trying to help. You look hurt, I am taking pity on you. You should be grateful.”

The girl’s expression turns to one of annoyance and, much to Shayna’s surprise, takes her hand. Shayna supports the girls’ weight, noting that her wrist also looks quite badly damaged also. “Thank you...” She mumbles, her eyes darting to Shayna’s feet and back to her face. “Although I don’t know why you pity me, have you seen yourself lately?”

Shayna looks confused, only really having seen the blood on her shirt. “What do you mean?”

“You look like you’ve had a fight with a chocobo.” The girl replies, a small smirk appearing across her lips, removing a small clump of feathers from Shayna’s hair.

“I did.” She replies, grinning. “If you think I look bad, you should see the chocobo.”
