Okay WO, I made a promise we would have a rematch, and here it is.

Auto-Safeguard: I think this may have been used in some battles in the old ASB, although I could be wrong, anyway, it basically prevents any Pokemon on the field from having a status condition for the entire battle, so moves like Toxic, Thunder Wave, Attract, Confuse Ray, and the like, will not work. Damaging moves which can cause a status condition will work here, just without the chance of causing a status condition.
Arena: Indigo Stadium, grass field. Fire attacks are allowed, but if any of them hit the grass, a random Water Pokemon from one of the spectators in the crowd will be sent out to put out the fire, and depending on its size, the Pokemon that used the fire attack will take up to 10% damage.

Right, I'm gonna send out my first pokemon, then! I choose Pelagia, my male Grotle. Could use the exp. ^_^

Okay, I think I'm going to send out a Pokemon who needs experience too, namely Skorpio, my shiny male Skorupi. Just because he's not evolved yet doesn't mean he can't handle an evolved Pokemon.

Okay Skorpio, this battle may be a hard one, but let's give it out best shot.

Start off by using a powerful Flash on Pelagia to blind him, then use Double Team, end with a Sludge Bomb.

For subs, if he uses Double Team himself, fire a well-spread out Poison Sting, or if he tries to use a move that requires concentration, use an ear-splitting Screech on him.

Okay Pel, start with a Withdraw! Go deep inside so that Flash does bugger all. Then use Bullet Seed to hit each clone and get rid of them before they can be of any use. Finally, use your own Flash to lower his accuracy, hopefully enough for that Sludge Bomb to miss.

Man, I'm just born for the stage!

::Lights turn on on the podium where he stood, mic raised to capture the cheers of the thousands ....and thousands...of fans, cheering..not his name.

._. Snitches..ANYWAY!!! Dl's here, so I'm guessing we can start this battle. Skorpio vs Pelagia. Let's not waste any time on this Grass field!!

The two Pokemon would watch a slew of Abra on pedestals rise up. At once, the Pokemon wiggled their index fingers, and a enormous Safeguard enveloped the field, giving the field a sparkling effect. Pelagia definitely didn't waste time staring at the sky. She immediately flipped and landed on her stomach, but her head and feet were pulled in as far as they could go. Skorpio was really miffed by that...as he knew a Flash would kinda be ineffective. But since she was..concentrating...

Pelagia kept her nerves as calm as possible, trying to heighten her focus within herself. But a Screech ripped through her concentration, forcing her out prematurely in agony. Snapping her beak, she looked over to the poison bug, whom was much closer than before.

Not sure what might be coming next, Skorupi decided to up his odds. Zipping left and right, to Pelagia's disdain, soon there would be 4 shiny red scorpions ready to battle. Well, that was the plan--but Pelagia was able to see through the deception-as her Bullet Seeds made short work of them all. For that oversight, Skorpio was plicked in succession by a multi-hit Bullet Seed.

Upset over that light hit, Skorupi tried to change up the strategy again, for something more offensive. A big ball of Sludge was created-and tossed skyward albiet awkwardly due to a Flash of light ripping through the field. Pelagia's Flash was able to shatter his focus for a little but she would still receive a rattling hit from that Bomb launched at her. She teetered over a big, but was able to recover, not poisoned!

Both Pokemon stared each other down, before looking to this strange field. What would and wouldn't work here..?!?!?

Meh, I thought of this arena only as an added challenge, as it never hurts to try something new, or something that may not have been done in a long time.

But hey, the Pokemon in this battle don't have to know Safeguard in order to have its status condition-nullifying protection.

Well WO, it's your move, let's hope this battle will be longer than our last one.

Now Pel, we can recover from that slight setback! Start with a Giga Drain, methinks. The use Iron Tail and finish with a Seed Bomb, methinks. If he uses Sludge Bomb again, use Protect.

Pelagia is none to happy about the end of last round, and she means to even the score. That is..if she could see straight. Although partially blinded himself, Skorpio unleashed a large enough Flash to take everyone nearby off guard.

Including my corneas.

As I gain vision back first, both Pokemon are now seeing blips of light and stars and what have you. Pelagia faces a direction, and immediately tries to establish a bond with the grass. No such dice, and she's left with a spent Giga Drain.

Stomping around in frustration, Pelagia began to slam her butt at the ground, apparently hardening it. Skorupi tried to keep his distance, Dancing backwards whenever it seemed she would land anywhere near him. The continuous rhythm of their odd Dance left Pelagia with yet another wasted attack, her Iron Tails hitting nothing but field.

Stopping her blind assault, a smear of red could be seen finally. The smear was not like the rest of the field, because it moved toward her. Knowing that was her target finally, Pelagia slightly raised the grove of leaves on her back, and formed a nice projectile shot. The arcing shot was unknown to Skorpio, he was too busy slashing his Poison tipped pincers aCross her body, forcing her face down into the ground.

Almost immediately, the ground began to explode all around Skorpio. He looked up only to be hit with an deluge of Seeds raining down on him. The Bombing attack left Skorpio right next to Pelagia, face down in dirt.

Pelagia, blinking to have her eyes readjust suddenly-takes a step back from that weird scorpion. Seeing as it's finally coming in clear again, she didn't want to lose it. So, she immediately ducked within her small shell, trying to Withdraw for just a moment...

Nooo Skorpio wasn't having that. Another ear-splitting Screech filled the air, causing her more than enough agony to shake her free from her concentration and stare down the scorpion with renewed anger.

Skorpio tried again to create an illusion of evaporation and multiplication, creating a slew of clones throughout the area. Having breathing room finally, the Grotle collected a small batch of energy, and fired at Skorpio.....

missing. She huffed as the clone dispersed, leaving the other three to laugh

The pit pat of tiny poisonous feet was all too familiar to Pelagia, and she feared the worst. Quick as a Grotle can, she created a Sandy Prison directly in front of here, where two of the three Skorupi's were. Instantly, she watched as claws slashed at her, even though sand was now thrown into the mix, eradicating the fake hits from the real one.

She flew back from the hit, but felt a sense of joy as Skorupi cried out, sand getting all over him and essentially trapping him from beneath. It turned out a bit bigger than she expected, but nonetheless, doing it's job.

Edit: Wait just a second, I was just looking at the rules topic, and it said that the first Pokemon has to be at 55% for the battlers to get any points from the battle, is that still true, DarkestLight, or does that have to apply to both Pokemon when there's a DQ or forfeit?

Hmm, I'm thinking that rule needs adjusting, as it is a bit confusing.

When a battle ends in a DQ or forfeit, shouldn't the experience be given if the Pokemon's health was reduced to a certain percentage or below (e.g. like with that one of them has to be at 55% or less to be able to gain points)?

I mean, more than half the battle to me sounds like the health in question has to be 49% or less...
