Moving past the tired Bidoof, you walk into the mists. Visibility shrinks, and Silvermane takes point. The three of you continue on your journey, moving closer toward a larger commotion. An Ivysaur lies on the ground, injured, with two Skiploom protecting him. A Pidgeotto flies past as well, escaping the vicinity, shaking the branches where Metapods lie in mass numbers.

The smell of poison hangs in the air, and from here, you can see those rocky walls much closer now.

What do you want to do?

You trudge on, noting the rocks getting larger. Something jumps past you in the fog, but its too hard to make out. Rui sticks close, while you watch Silvermane.

The fog doesn't let up but a thunderous crash next to you makes Rui float up in anticipation. Suddenly three Toxicroaks dive out the fog, locked in an intense battle with each other? No. Two dive back into the fog, while one turns and glares at you three. He ribbits loud, before running back into the fog to resume the battle.

Over in a small tree, Silvermane growls, as a Sunkern makes faces, but stays hidden. Something's just not right here..

Fed up with the fog for the moment, you snap your fingers. Already out in front Silvermane raises his head and blasts a stream of fire straight ahead. The fog spreads away from the heat source, and the fog clears for a good 5 feet ahead. Just from that action, you notice one of the Toxicroak hunched over, holding its side.

Wha? The other two are jumping around a small tree...and punching at it with their claws. The tree though, keeps lurching about-as if its stuck. A closer look reveals its a Torterra stuck in quicksand, and the Toxicroaks are trying to hurry it along...

What do you do?

What a bunch of killers! You back up and let Sil jump atop the Torterra. The Toxicroak stand on either side of Silvermane and watch as he jumps to the other side, where the Torterra can see him. Paws get a grip on Torterra's back and he pulls....pulls..until a set of jabs hit both sides. The Toxicroaks don't like this Arcanine interfering with their soon to be easy meal.

The Torterra calls out weakly, as its right forelimb can touch solid ground, but that's not enough.

Sil growls menacingly at the Toxicroak that bob and weave around him. Irked at these cretins, Silvermane releases a Roar so guttural it freezes everyone on the spot. A Farfetch'd that had been hiding in the nearby area flees like no tomorrow. In the trees, the roar woke up a pair of Hoothoots.

One Toxicroak is thoroughly shaken and backs off, as the Torterra seems to try and rest its hope of climbing out on its one forelimb. The other Croak lunges and connects with a strong Jab, breaking skin with that talon. Rui comes in for backup and releases a Psychic blast that sends that croak fleeing.

The two Croaks regroup near their injured brother and keep at bay, as SIlver walks back over to the Torterra. He pulls and pulls, and manages to get Torterra's left formelimb on solid ground. The beast sighs, and begins to heave himself on out-slowly.

Silver shivers a tad. What do you do?

The Torterra making its way out of teh quicksand, you quickly note that Grotle you met earlier come running out of the underbrush, to join its...father. Yay happy. You walk off to leave them be, recalling Silvermane with one swift motion. Rui takes point now, as the pairt of you head on into the fog once more.

You get a ways in, and you can see a massive rocky wall a few fet away, extending for a long ways. A few Wurmples are on the ground, bouncing on a very large set of red petals. You notice two pairs of them.

Wurmples aren't your thing, you decide, and you head on this hidden path. As you walk, the rocky walls seem odd to you, almost as if they were a door. East of your location, you hear a buzzing, and a Masquerain flies out of the fog. Rui points to the wall, to see a Nuzleaf pushing against it, obviously stretching. A few Oddish go scurrying off into the underbrush.

The door seems solid, and you cant hear anything beyond it, but that could be because its a heavy door. A draft from the staircase hits your back as you decide what to do.

Looking around, blinking to get used to the light, you see the myriad flocks of zubats and golbats scattering away, startled by the light. Looking down swiftly you can see that the elevator has stopped about 10 feet from the ground. Perched on the railing of the elevator is a Murkrow, gazing at you curiously and grinning.

The Area:

The Old Village

An abandoned part of the village that is set for refurbishment some time in the future. Who knows what you can find here, pokemon seem to flock to it from wherever they are. There's also rumours of places hidden beneath the old village..

The Journey:

The fight is nearly over, as Yana and Dodger face off against the Ariados. Dodger lets out a loud bellowing roar that's backed up by Yana's own howl (-3/-3). The Ariados lets out a hiss before scattering back up to the rafters of the building he was hiding in. Ryan just snores (+6,+10).

Dodger snorts before he too curls up on the ground, using some lumber as a nest and falls asleep (+12, +20). Ryan is still sleeping (+12, +20). You let them sleep as Yanna sniffs around the area. The hole in the building was where the Umbreon and her litter were hiding, however there is a large hole in the building where the Ariados was hiding, and Yana's senses tell you that the dodging shadow is in there, or at least, went in there.

The Journey:

Your eyes catch the Larvitar as it watches the Primape. Your Ivysaur lets out bright powder to the wind as it floats towards the Larvitar (-5). He sits there, sniffing the air, the powder not affecting him yet. Rudi concentrates as floating flames start to appear hovering around the Larvitar (-1/BRN (-2 HP)).

The Larvitar knows it's under attack now as the Blaziken comes out of nowhere, and punches it with an electrically charged fist (-10) the attack doesn't damage the Larvitar, but it does knock it closer to Nepenthes. Nepe himself unleashes another cloud of powder that the Rock Type inhales (-4/SLP).

Now with it asleep, Nepenthes attacks with a set of vines that come from his bulb (-4/-18). Rudiasho goes on the offensive as well striking a blow to break concrete (-5/-14).

The Flygon watches as the Larvitar is agitated by his burn (-2 (BRN)).

You target the Torterra as it shakes the last bit of frost from his shell. Perseus disappears and re-appears in a flash (-4). The Torterra doesn't notice him there right away.

Perseus then cuts loose with a fist covered with ice cold energy (-6/-11). Not too happy, the Torterra roars before slamming into the Gallade (-5/-6).

With another attack, the Torterra slams into Perseus (-9, -4/-13). Unphased, the Gallade strikes back with a frozen fist (-6/-12).

The fight's underway, but can you down the Torterra and claim him as your own?

Nuzleaf is soon approached by Rui, and obliges to move. He bounds away, and Rui feels the rock. Warm...warm...cold? Using all the strength it could, the Gengar moves the metal doors. They creak open with an ominous wail.

A dry wind hits you as you peer inside the darkness. You notice a Seedot looking in as well, sitting right by your foot. A Weepingbell slides down its vines from a Tree, pondering whats behind the doors as well.

"Damn, where the hell do they get these? First the Hobbit, then one from Stargate...." Thinking for a bit, pacing while Blade sits cross-legged and meditates. I think for a bit before looking around the caldera and the realization hitting me. Typing in the answer: D.A.R.K.N.E.S.S.

You instruct Judge to use Flash (-3EN, Judge) and the room suddenly lights up. Shielding your eyes from the sudden brightening of the room, you look around cautiously but curiously as the contents of the room are finally revealed. Directly to your right are a group of heavy, expensive looking wooden tables, the one in the middle slightly raised above the others. In front of you lie rows of benches, less fine than the tables. The room appeared to be an old courtroom, portraits of important, severe looking men adorning the walls. The door you entered from is apparently where the baliff would bring in defendants from. This room seems surprisingly well preserved compared to the rest of the old courthouse. Anything could be here.

As Blade sits on the ground you type in Darkness on the keypad and it begins to light up with the number 6 and the giant doors begin to swing open. As you walk inside you look around to see a magnificent hall lined with golden walls and lots of golden treasure everywhere as well as some treasure chests. You look at the end of the halls and you see 3 hallways one each has a giant letter above them, one with a M one with a G and finally a K.

They circle around, before spewing a thick dark smoke into the room (-5). The smoke fills the inside of the exposed house, and Yana waits, planning her next move (-3, SPATK ++).

You wait, and wait as the smoke fills the house, before you hear a cough.

Picking the G passage you and Blade walk down it, as you keep on walking you start to hear someone snoring. The tunnel opens up into a small room with a bed like pedastel in the centre and laying on top of it is a Black and Gold Gible sleeping away.

You dash in, Rui following with a sense of adventurers glee. You both stop when you realize its pitch black in here. Eyes adjust to the slim amount of light that you receive from behind you, and you can make out the wobbling shape of a Geodude.

The area is rocky and yet further down, you see a light swinging. A spark catches your eye, away from the light. You're being watched...

What do you do?

I whisper to Blade as we come up on the oddly colored Gible. "Okay Blade, here's the plan. We'll ask nicely if it would like to join us. However, first, I want you to use Focus Energy twice. Once that is done, we'll wake him up and then ask. If he agrees, then we're good. If he refuses or wants a battle, we'll at least have an edge."

The Journey:

As the Larvitar sleeps, Rudi doesn't waste any time pressing the advantage, sliding forward, his fist crackling with energy (-9/). It slams into the Larvitar, but doesn't seem to have much effect. While it still sleeps, Nepenthes sends out another cracking pair off vines (-5/-19). And that's one strong hit!

Nepenthes decides to relax for now (+5). The Larvitar is still sleeping! The thing could sleep through a Tokyo earthquake at this rate. And Rudiasho comes in for another electrically themed strike (-9), which hits the Rock Skin Pokémon with little effect.

The Larvitar wakes up, pushing itself up and growling at the Blaziken and Ivysaur. It inhales a bit before releasing a loud screech that echoes through the quarry (-6/DEF --/DEF --). Nepe continues to regain some energy (+5). As Rudi flies in for another hit (-10) just knocking the Lavitar back with the force of the blow, and like before, dealing no damage.

The Larvitar is irritated by his burn (-2 (BRN)) as the round ends.

Ref Notes: 7. Electric attacks do not affect Rock/Ground. I figured you'd save your Poké Ball if you saw that Thunderpunch was dealing no damage with every hit, was unsure why you continued using it when it dealt no damage last time.

Ah, of course. Bah. I keep confusing myself and thinking that it's Rock/Dark, dammit, and I guess I was confused by what the -10s were.

Well. Sorry about that embarrassing little faux pas, Rudi. But no matter, we can salvage this. Give the nasty little banshee a Rock Smash and then just chill. Nepenthes, use Sleep Powder again and then one more Vine Whip; then I'll throw the Pokéball.
