My ability-battle with TML is a cool one. Magic Guard is a crazy ability and I'm glad Mew Master is doing his best in reffing the battle. Thanks for that mate. TML is proving to be quite te opponent, especially since my Zap Cannon triggered her Hariyama's Guts.

Anyway, the fave ones on my Team vary.

Ziz (Aerodactyl): Ziz is just fun to toss into battle and cut loose with a prehistoric ferocity. I always imagined predatory Pokemon to be nightmares in battle, and Ziz was voted most fun to battle back in 08.

Behemoth (Bastiodon): The Prehistoric Pokes from 4th Gen have what I consider to be Swiss-Army-Knifes of Pokemon. They can learn a variety of elemental moves, plus their own specialties make them nasty in the right hands.

Tarasque (Rampardos): Tarasque is also in that category, and I love the move set as it allows for some devastating combinations and moves to use. While it may have some general weaknesses, it can still put up one hellova fight.

Blade (Scyther): Saddly, while Scyther is one of my favorite Pokemon, tis moveset is still limited for something I've always imagined as the "Martial Arts Mantis." While Reversal and Counter are useful, there's really nothing to counter Special Attack moves other than Bide. And there are a LOT of Super Effective moves that are Special Attacks.

It's hard to choose one favourite on my team currently, but I have a few too.

Venus, my Blissey: When I started out, she wasn't one of my original four, but she was the fifth Pokemon I got on my team (while she was a Chansey), I like using her in a lot of battles because of her immense moveset, and having Serene Grace now could make her a force to be reckoned with in any future battles with abilities on (e.g. watch out for (Zen) Headbutt lol)

Sabre, my male Absol: I haven't been using him as much these days since starting out, but being as he was one of the first four Pokemon I started with, I used him more often in my earlier battles. But now that he has Pressure to use in any battle with abilities on, not to mention having a moveset almost as great as Venus' moveset, he can put up a fight if need be.

Gemini, my male Sableye: He's one of the newcomers to my team as of now, and although I haven't used him in a battle just yet, I hope to use him someday in a battle with abilities on, as I didn't choose the Stall ability for nothing. You guys can only bet that if you see Gemini in a battle, that he'll fight really hard to help me get another win, lol.

Surge, my male Electivire: Well, I haven't used him in battle yet since he evolved from an Electabuzz, but I have to say, having received him from Chris 2.0/2.1 at a previous tree when I didn't have an Electric type back then has benefitted me pretty well, besides being one of the few Electric types that can learn Psychic, he has definitely earned my trust, and could be just the opponent to fight in my signature arena. Ground types...beware, your advantage won't work so well in my signature arena as it bans Earthquake and similar moves.

Yah with my team growing so fast sometimes, It's hard to keep track. But currently, I'm impressed with a fair few this year.

Change - for a Tyrogue, Change is pretty damn awesome. Even with dds stacked agaisnt him, he can pull it out, and keeping him unevolved has really shown me how well of a fighter he really is.

Atripe - Need I say more. This ghost singlehandedly proved to me why Ghost types are so much damn fun-and possibly make everyone here think of a Pain Split ban for a few weeks after. Aside from that, he's been a great solid Pokemon with a good arsenal for stopping others in their tracks.

Tio. Yeah MLG threw this fish at me and said it was lame. Hell NO! Finneon is crazy nice in ASB. It may not have the widest movepool, but it does its job well, and I love it ever more so. Very versatile..

Darwin. Hell yes. I can see why Kanga is a biotch to fight, and I'm gonna get good with Darwin, I promise you that. Its on like Donkey Kanga with that roo. So much to choose from, I can fight anything at any time and I just really like Kangaskhan.

hmm, I'm not sure that I do have a favorite but I do have a core set of Pokemon that I have been using since I first joined in 2002 (although these are not the originals)


Nightshade (Alakazam): I just love how freaking useful he is. He knows a variety of moves and I've had good luck with him in battles

Orion (Scizor): He doesn't have a great move set but I love Scizors to begin with so I'm willing to look past that deficiency

Drake (Charizard): My absolute favorite fire Pokemon. Plus he can fly, which is an extra bonus

Ichimaru Gin, my male Sableye. When I use Gin in battles, everything seems to come naturally. It's just a pokemon that knows all of the moves I need it to know. A variety of offensive moves, Recover, Nasty plot, Taunt, statusmoves, etc. make it a sly little warrior. No weakness helps too.

Katen, my female Cradily. Cradily are a strange species, but once you get a hang of it, it's good to go. It's a tankish pokemon, with loads of tricky moves like Mirrorcoat, Recover, etc. Great pokemon if you like defensive play.

Kamon, my male Magcargo. Also a tankish pokemon with Yawn, Recover, Acid Armor, Amnesia, Refresh; and surprise moves like Overheat and Explosion. It also learns the Stockpile-series, which kinda reflects my battlestyle.

Ise Nanao, my shiny female Medicham. This is actually my only favorite that's more offensively based. It's a blue yoga kungfu monkey with telepatic powers for crying out loud. Who wouldn't adore it? Both special and physical moves and a good arsenal of different typed moves.

Yeah, looks like I'm more of a defensive player =/

I dunno... I try to be offensive, but many times I'm forced to the Defensive. Depending on the Pokemon I can do that.. however I think it's more a question other people should answer.

I'm about giving my all in battles, once I get going, about the only things that can stop me and bring me toward a defeat are either my occasional mistakes (I learn from them thankfully), or sheer skill. But, I see each loss as an opportunity to become even stronger, so no matter what, my strategy is not holding back once I get a lead, and fighting back if I fall behind. I'll fight to the very end.

Late to the party. My favourite pokies... hm, not a very hard choice.

Aelethil - My lovely, gorgeous, awesome Arcanine. <3 I luff him sooo much! I'm a sucker for fire types, and he has the speed I adore, too.

Quetzalxochitl - Kangaskhan is epic. I never would have known. Vastly huge movepool, and not to mention adorable baby in pouch. Squee. Also, lots of punching-you-out moves, which is cool as.

Astarte - Houndoom. Sort of a staple with me, and it hits both my type kinks, fire and dark. Not actually used her in battle for a while, but eh.

Arith - Tropius. A hella surprising pokemon, similar to Kangas only MORESO. Whoda thought a giant feckoff dinosaur could learn Fly. And all those other flying moves have saved my arse in many a situation.

Honorable mention to Thom Yorke, my Ambipom and Famfrit, my Milotic, both of whom have pretty awesome movepools.

Test guys out. See how they work. Sometimes evolution isn't the best solution, lol. Remember this is ASB, not the games. You could resolve to be someone that shows off their skills with mid-forms rather than top tier guys. This is more so a way to test your ingenuity rather than just how strong everyone is.

I don't battle quite often enough to really know what my favorites are, and I haven't used like half of my team... but I do love my Hypno, Hypnotik. Hypno is not what I consider a terribly appealing Pokémon appearance- or stats-wise for ingame stuff, and so it's something I never would have given a second thought under normal circumstances. Then someone gave me a Drowzee and I, thinking it would be rude to just turn around and re-gift it, went ahead and tried it. Haven't looked back since.

Stantler promises to be fun, though.

Yeah, but then I look at my team and say "Hey, what's with all the unevolved pokemon?"

The problem is, you evolve them all as soon as you can and you'll have a giant team of fully evolved pokemon. That sucks. You don't have the fun of experimenting or build-up if you rush everything.

I've had a giant team, then I got rid of all 'cept one, and start over. Did that twice and cleaned out my team again in the last Tree. Still have a lot, methinks.

I'm also musing about two possible catches, but I'll wander around Safari a bit first. Maybe I'll even get lucky.

On the subject of evolving Pokemon, with some Pokemon, I tend to have them battle only once to get experience before I evolve them, but in other cases, evolution isn't always necessary, for example, if I thought of catching another Dragonair to fill the Dragon-type void on my team, I'd never evolve it, I'd just prefer for it to stay a Dragonair (much like with Lune the Guardian's Dragonair; she doesn't want hers to evolve), since having the weaknesses of Ice and Dragon is better than having a Dragonite with these weaknesses as well as the Rock weakness (4x Ice weakness is one of the reasons why I don't want another Dragonite in this ASB, unlike when I had one in the old ASB).
