ROUND FORTY-FIVE

It's the ninth round of the battle, and Rawk's been knocked out just as many times as he's not. Blademaster revitalizes the fire pokemon once again just as the red-hair Brit, Weasel Overlord, steps into the pit with her crimson-quilled sandslash, Rufus. The two gym leaders eye eachother down, trying to register weakness.

Rawk immediately begins first by shooting out an acidic glob of venom that collides with the shiny sandslash [ Tox Rufus V. / -6PP Rawk Hawk ]. Rufus doesn't pay it any attention for the moment, and instead sharpens his claws over and over, giving him strength [ -5PP, -1HP, +20% Atk Rufus V. ]

With no damage dealt, Rawk begins cawwing at the rafters. Eventually, the sun shines, but you'd never be able to tell since this battle takes place inside [ -4PP Rawk Hawk ]. Rufus, meanwhile, puts up a protective barrier that keeps him safe from status ailments... although he's a bit late for that [ -5PP, -1HP Rufus, Safeguard activated ].

Rawk Hawk begins the end of the round by absorbing as much light as possible, but the end-result leaves much to be desired as he can't manage to absorb enough to pull off an attack whatsoever; Rufus, meanwhile, fires off a large ball of mud that slaps the fire chicken in the face [ -9HP, -10% Spd Rawk Hawk / -3PP, -1HP Rufus V. ]

ROUND FORTY-SIX

Rawk wastes no time in the start of this round, opting to abandon the accumulated solar energy. Before Rufus can even react, he's already uppercutted high into the air by Rawk [ -9HP Rufus V. / -6PP Rawk Hawk ]. The crimson-haired hedgehog quickly latches onto one of the rafters to avoid falling to the ground as Rawk joins him. Rufus focuses, creating three identical clones to keep him protected [ -6PP, +75% Eva, -2HP Rufus V. ].

His clones fail him, however, as Rawk bashes the sandslash with his firery fist, knocking him back to the ground [ -4HP + -4HP, -75% Eva Rufus V. / -3PP Rawk Hawk ]. Rawk joins him on the ground, more gracefully, however. The crimson-haired Rufus pulls himself back together, however, and charges at the fire pokemon, his quills now shining a silvery hue. Covered with stone, Rufus tackles Rawk forcefully [ -17HP Rawk Hawk / -9PP, -2HP Rufus V. ].

Rawk ends the round by firing off a chain of flames that sweeps across the pit; Rufus attempts to avoid these flames, but his claws can't burrow through the hardened ground quickly enough to sidestep them [ -6HP Rufus V. / -5PP Rawk Hawk ]. It takes a few moments, but finally Rufus is underground [ -3PP, -2HP Rufus V. ].

Dig? Nooo... Hop up into the rafters and use Earthquake to stop that plan. Then... Well, if Sunny Day won't work indoors, I doubt Sandstorm will. So just smash Rufus with a Fire Blast. Then when the rocks start falling, use Rock Climb to scale them and knock them crashing down on him instead.

Before his foe can even track him down, Rawk leaps high into the air with, nearing the rafters once more. As his bound reaches its peak, he charges up energy in his arms and legs. Upon hitting the ground, it causes a shockwave of earth energy to ripple throughout the Glitz Pit, causing major harm to the crimson-haired sandslash [ -15HP Rufus V. / -11PP Rawk Hawk ]. Rufus, in quite a daze, pulls himself out from underground before weakly attacking his foe [ -8HP Rawk Hawk / -3PP, -3HP Rufus V. ].

But Rawk continues to lay down the onslaught, firing off a massive fire blast that envelopes the smaller hedgehog [ -12HP Rufus V. / -8PP Rawk Hawk ]. The blast may've burnt him had it not've been for his protective safeguard. Rufus retalliates by crying out -- summoning a sandstorm to overtake the sunny day... outside [ -4PP, -3HP Rufus V. ]. Rawk snickers.

Quite annoyed, Rufus summons a large chain of rocks from outside; he starts dropping them one by one. Rawk leaps up to one of them and attaches himself before throwing it back at Rufus, but two more crash into his torso, sending him back into the ground [ -12HP, -3PP Rawk Hawk / -2HP, -5PP, -3HP Rufus V. ].

Rawk wastes no time, and immediately fires off a massive blast of fire energy that engulfs the red sandslash [ -12HP Rufus V. / -8PP Rawk Hawk ]. Rufus counterattacks with a staggering earthquake across the arena floor [ -17HP Rawk Hawk / -7PP, -4HP Rufus V. ].

Still without time to waste, Rawk sets his right foot ablaze and throws his body into Rufus [ -8HP Rufus V. / -5PP Rawk Hawk ], who once again retalliates, this time by firing off a great beam of earth energy at Rawk [ -14HP Rawk Hawk / -6PP, -4HP Rufus V. ].

Sensing his opponent's near demise, Rawk ends this round with a smaller blast of fire that defeats the sandslash [ -2HP Rufus V. / -5PP Rawk Hawk ].

Lets start off with teeter dance, to throw Rawk off his game. He will probably try to get an agility + Aerial ace combo off, so watch out for that by preparing a Stun spore blast as he comes in. Finish off the round with an Ingrain effect.

I have miss interperted the combo I have seen him use WAY to many times, Replace stun spore with attract.

Well. The arena is fixed and Rawk stands tall, ready to fight again. He wipes his brow, and is heald by his Trainer. Spitting out any guise of exhaustion, his wrists flare up as Rafelsia waddles into the ring.

The plant begins to spin around gracefully, trying to entice Rawk. But Rawk merely closes his eyes and focuses on his natural element welling up insdie him. When the flame become of an intensity he ant contain, he opens his fists and expunges a Heat Wave all around the ring. Raf is caught in the massive Heat Wave and falls backwards, pained.

Bad start. But Raf got up, petals sizzling. Rawk didn't know what to expect during this moment, so he took in a deep breath and Roared. Raf tried to bat her eyes since Rawk didn't come in close, but the Roar backed her up. Crap that Blaziken was loud

Not sure what to expect from Rawk now, she backed up in trepidation. Rawk smirked, and flung a few bits of flame at her. Raf cringed, and forced roots into the ground. So the burn latched on with little resistance.

Raf keeps focuses, trying to stifle her nerves around Rawk, who walked up to her with fists and ankles flaring. So she starts to bop up and down. Rawk recognizes this and dives in quick, slashing Raf and leaping up before the Stun Spore actually takes hold.

Rawk, now vertical, notes Raf pumping out more spores. Problem here as that it kept pumping them around itself, so it had to take the risk. Diving back onto Raff's head, he sliced the petals in a ring formation, Powders flying up and striking him as he dove to safety.

Raf watched Rawk land on one knee, and stand up, before falling over-asleep.

Raf watches the sleeping Rawk and smiles. This seems like the perfect time to make a comeback. She looks up to the domed roof..and realizes her Sunny Day is blocked by that damn roof! She looked back to Rawk, and didn't see the bird. She turned left and right, but she couldn't see it coming.

Til it shredded her. Shadow Claw to the face.

That hurt. But Raf, she was not to be denied her health. She summoned as much energy as she could to try and get a substantial amount of health back. Rawk, still asleep, lunged forth and tackled Raf, almost breaking those roots. That's a Brave Bird right there.

Barely breaking even, Raf hissed and tried something else. She began to suck up energy, but Rawk opened his mouth and then his eyes. Raf knew what this meant, and fired off a Sleep Powder to weaken the fire fighter. However, Rawk glowed with a strange energy and threw it back at Raf, dousing her with her own spores. Raf sank down and soon fell out.

Still sleeping over there, Raf doesn't seem to be that much of a challenge. Rawk fired off a Sound Fire Blast, despite the powerful Snore that came over the airwaves from Raf. Must've been that Miracle Gro mojito she had the night before.

She burns into the niiiiight. Rawk laughs and opens his hands, forcing the air around him to become superheated. As this occurs, Raf winces a bit and seems to giggle. Wondering what's so funny, but not willing to get so close, that Heat Wave is fired off, giving more meaning to the turn "burned to a crisp"

ACK! Blublockers barely blocked that Flash Raf gave off after that fiery attack. Rawk caws and falls to one knee, that was way too bright.

Not as if he needs it. He stays kneeling and gets ready to release a massive Overheated blast, since his flames are at their peak...when a second Snore comes to him very sharply. Its s sharp, that he gets a nasty shiver down his spine, and stops his attack altogether.

Man, this plant really knows how to sleep. But as she snoozes, Rawk treads across the ring, one foot starting to smolder. He kicks over her a few times, igniting his ankle with a healthy blaze of fire. Raf however, doesn't allow Rawk so much carefree time in her dreams, and amasses a sort of comeback, starting with an extreme attack.

Rawk raises his foot up to axe kick her into submission, when suddenly, a tornado of sorts whips around the pair. Raf stays down, but Rawk gets tossed around in this hellish Leaf Storm. When the storm dissipates, Rawk however, grabs his left foot-still on fire, and speeds down.

The resulting Prominence slams Raf out of the match.

Ever since original Red and Blue, I always had a Vileplume on my team in the first run through the game. Sure, It didn't always do much. Some times, It was just there for show. In competitive matches against my friends, they would always laugh when it came out, and get rolled by a fireblast or a blizzard, but I never replaced it. In original Silver, I found a shiny oddish, so that became my first (and only) shiny Vileplume. She never got to fight against the league, because the cartridge was stolen at school, but I was so happy training her.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make here is that it doesn't matter what people say about your pokemon (Blade^1), as long as you keep battling with the pokemon YOU love, you are doing what is right.

===Round 54/1===

Rawk looked at Raf, as she was removed from the field. Got a few minions out here to fix up the ring, and voila, we are ready to go. Rawk takes his Chernoblye, and is ready to rock. Ha, and now its Greyfox whom Blade shall fae, with none other than Perseus.

Perseus flexed his blades a few times, and with each clash, a few bolts of energy webbed around him. After a few collisions, the Safeguard Perseus worked on was complete. Rawk takes note of what this unique fighter has done, and follows suit, flexing and creating a Safeguard all his own.

Perseus knelt down on one knee, watching Rawk carefully, as the chickenhawk came running for him. Perseus backflipped once as Rawk sped up, thinking teh flip would stun Rawk into not attacking. Perseus landed calmly, but was then tackled hard by Rawk onto the mat. Both Pokemon bounced and Rawk flipped away, leaving Perseus down.

Rawk stood up, rotating his shoulder again. That was always a painful move. But Perseus was pissed he got taken down by that attack. He kipped up and attacked Rawk, making this battle a CQC standoff. He kept his blade sin, and was just punching for now, but Rawk was already building a strange ghostly energy in his claws.

The two parried blows for a few moments, before Rawk found an opening, a upward slashing palm sliced Perseus and forced him to spin, Rawk sidestepping to slash him again. Perseus left blade extended at this point and he increased his rate of spin, so Rawk's followup missed and left him wide open for a close range Psycho Cut to the chest.

Rawk fell back holding his chest. That was painful!
