Round 80
Ignoring the lack of Ninetales, your pokemon begin beating at the icewall using their various techniques -- Rawk and Thunder with their flaming fists, Grand Star with his spinning limbs, and Lapras with her horn.

The process is long and daunting, but you manage break through the massive wall and climb through to the other side. Your team, however, is looking pretty exhausted after that whole ordeal.

You take a look around and note an especially large opening. The walls no longer hug against you, but rather open into a large room with barely any light escaping -- the only light you can find appears to be coming from a hole in the ceiling -- but it's very high up.

The ground is still cold, almost burning, in a way.

The icy wind is then coupled with another boast of wind, this time stale [ -6HP Sandslash / -3PP Sterling ]. Sandslash brushes off the attack before strengthening his attack power [ -5PP, +20% Atk Sandslash ].

The metallic bird, however, doesn't make much of it as she swirls around the area creating a drafting wind that increases her speed exponentially [ +200% Spd, -5PP Sterling ].

As she whips around in the air faster and fasterly, Sandslash continues to increase his attack power [ +20% Atk, -5PP Sandslash ] before he is slammed into by the skarmory's gallant tackle [ -14HP Sandslash / -7PP Sterling ].

Sandslash pulls himself back together long enough to summon up a swift sandstorm [ -5PP Sandslash / Sandstorm activated ], allowing him to remain hidden as Sterling slashes nothing but air [ -5PP Sterling ].

You, Thunder, and Rawk mount Lapras and, using telekinesis, are lifted high into the air. This is no easy feat, however, as both Lapras and Grand Star struggle to lift the four of you with their collective minds. As you slowly raise into the air, you stare at your surroundings. Several more icy blue feathers litter around the cave, as well as a few shattered egg shells.

You've been playing hot and cold in your mind for the past few hours, and it seems that you've been getting much warmer... the irony is a bit funny when you think about it.

You slowly reach the hole in the ceiling, spotting nothing but the outside. What an unfortunate bust...

You decend slowly to the ground -- the icy floor continues to sting, but you try not to think about it too much. Recalling Grand Star, you and your pokemon scan around the immediate area. Thunderhand raises himself up in the air briefly for a bird's-eye view [ -5PP Thunderhand ] as Lapras begins looking around for anything of note [ -5PP Lapras ].

She scans and scans, just finding more blue feathers until... there! About a kilometer ahead is a large collection of branches. It looks like a nest of some sort!

Sterling decides to end it with a combo, tackling the sandslash swiftly before doing it again [ -6HP + -6HP Sandslash / -5PP Sterling ]. Sandslash struggles to pull himself together as the sandstorm rages on.

You brave the ever-decreasing heat and slowly continue through the cavern, clutching onto your jacket. Grand Star and Thunderhand shiver under the sheer cold, while Rawk Hawk struggles to keep his body temperature above 150 degrees. Lapras is the only one unharmed by the cold, but even she will start feeling it's effects if the temperature continues to drop at this rate.

Thunder awkwardly steps lightly against the floor until he can't anymore -- his feet now frozen to it. He thrashes about, just trying his best to break free to no avail.

A sudden gust of cold win brushes against your team, and all but Thunderhand are blown into the cavern's wall. Your back now frozen to the wall, you open your eyes -- hazily, you try to make out what you're seeing: a large blue figure... but what is it!?

The path to the immediate right leads to a sulking ninetales and a dead end. The path next to it also leads to a dead end, with nothing substantial about it. After that looks to be a sealed-off cavern. Gin finally uses his vision to follow Lopunny, who is now outside, clutching onto something he can't quite tell...
