You turn and beckon Falconzord to you. With sleight of hand, the avian is recalled and tucked away for safekeeping. Caucus kicks Fenrir who bucks-he's no damn horse, but he goes forward anyway, Flashing the cave.

You all walk in, noting the slick rocks as the cave has a slight gradient. The walls are eerie; greenish tint to an otherwise deep brown existence. This place however, feels alive. There's an energy all its own, and its powerful. Phione appears at the end of your view to the right with the stream, but you see a left path..with a tributary. That part of the Stream seems to have lost its glowing enchantment..

There are footsteps being made, from something very large only a few meters up. The woods are denser here, so visual confirmation is tricky. There is also a horrendous spell, that can only be described as carrion.

The volcano looks too intimidating, and you decide to start with the building. Your hike seems pretty long, maybe 2 miles or so. Its alright, its very warm here and your Pokemon don't mind. Along you walk, you notice small tufts of grass here and there, and a Ponyta nibbling away. Some Rattata also run by, rough looking rats

You squeeze the top of the bridge of your nose with your fingers to calm yourself down a moment, before you retell all that you've learn. As you educate these folk you notice the Bidoof - just for a moment - glare at you while you told your story.

You finish anyway, and Mortimer claps in excitement. "Brilliant detective work by your office, my good man! We shall find this Rebecca and have her escort us to safety! We cannot have any more thievery of this kind here!"

The Bidoof-god was its name? Singalong? Superstrong? Whatever. He nods and assures us that heading to North Skyline Terrace would not be wise tonight-but they'll go and set up a sting operation to catch this burglar once and for all.

You happen to glance out the window, and notice a shadow just leave your range of view...

Knowing things can get hairy, you release Jabin finally. He stretches and then vanishes in a flash. You wait quietly with Ziva, until Jabin teleports back. You can tell immediately somethings wrong, as he looks like he came face to face with something unnatural! A Toxicroak jumps out the woods just then, and is startled that there are Pokemon just standing here. Just then there is a mighty roar, and the Toxicroak runs like mad!

Jabin is able to tell you that there is a dead Meganium a few hundreds feet up.

You, Gulliver and Ectabat excuse yourself from Mortimer, who graciously shakes your hand and waves the evidence you found as if it was a stick of gold. You turn to spy for any other officers, and notice a female Hoothoot attending to a phone call. She hangs up rather abruptly upon your arrival to your desk.

"Can I help youu?" Her voice is surprisingly deep. You inquire about the whereabouts of Officer Dunz, to which you get a stern look. "I'm sorry, Officer Dunz is out on patrol. May I help you?" You tell her about the shadow outside the police station window, and she looks down the hall. "Really. Eavesdropping on your conversation? I'll make a note and have someone search the premises."

You watch as the squat officer hops out her chair and goes to another room, to file the complaint..or something. The sunlight is still pretty strong, you have hours until nightfall.

Fenrir barks and happily glares at the teardrop. Phione catches the Look, but still bounces along. The hell? Fenrir barks at it, and Phione seems none too worried. It floats in the shining stream under Fenrir's close guard as you and Caucus go left.

You walk for a lil, and carefully descend down a small hill, to see a pool of water, where this tributary ends. If you can call it water. Its thick and black and sludge like-and the smelll-oh man, the smell is blasphemous. But its a tributary...how the hell is is turning black from the main stream!

You do see that there is a massive shining wall blocking you from seeing if the pool seeps into another area, but you look to the right, to see Fenrir and Phone staring down at you. Obstruction perhaps?

You step over a long green rock, and then creep under some low lying broken branches The smell hits you like a freight train, and you notice the forest here looks like a slasher movie. You make out 2 large moving shapes over near where Jabin would have saw said carcass, and then you stop.

The smell is moving. Around you. Ziva hops next to you and starts to get agitated, Jabin quietly extends its blades and you note it. The forest looks the same to you...green. Lush. Thick trees everywhere...glowing eyes 'round 6 feet of the ground.. no animal sounds...hints of horrendous smells..its great!

Phione floats down, and stares at the dark wall. He makes a few gurgles and then floats away from the blackened water. Fenrir translates so you can understand, that this wall rose up out of the ground one day, and the Pokemon that used to live here vanished. One day Phione was able to get out from BEHIND said obstruction, but the river here seemed to be in poor shape.

Before this obstruction appeared, this Hidden Valley and this Cave housed many Pokemon, but never for long. If you drank and ate too much of the plant life here, you'd grow to be enormous. Phione giggled, making fun of Fenrir's rendition of a fat Pokemon.

You approach carefully, almost amazed that something like this could even happen. Its hard to understand nature's delicate balance when you are in the midst of it all. You and Ziva break away from Jabin, and reach the carcass. It seems like it wasn't here for too long, as the flies and the stench are still not as bad as they could be.

But the track, oh glory the tracks. There are at least 30, imprinted all over each other, as if there was more than one beast here. Jabin and Ziva stay back to back, and Ziva charges up an Aura Sphere.....

Something in the woods...from 5 different directions...all broke branches simultaneously.

But after 5 minutes, that wall still doesn't budge. Its cold and smooth to the touch...a monolith in this valley is very strange.

Ziva follows suit and the three of you teleport to a high branch. You hold on, as that was an awkward landing, and note the swarm of green that rush the carcass. It sounds like a nasty menagerie of woodland cutlery, bone breaking, teeth chomping and gluttonous roaring.

But Tyranitar hunting in packs? That's weird. The hell did they come from? You sigh, glad that for the moment you are safe. A Spinarak spins a web near your feet.

You reach the tower, and note that this side has no doorway. The avian up top is quite high. You didn't realize this place was around 25 stories tall! It's aright though as you stroll around the building's base.

Second side reveals nothing.

Third side reveals...nothing.

Last side reveal....an open door. Why is it ALWAYS the last side! You can enter the dimly lit lobby, which for the moment is occupied by a couple of Torchics.

Ooh! Torchics! You and your Pokemon enter the lobby and the flamebirds immediately notice your shadows. They turn to spy Hydro standing tall, and the Roar he emits sends them scattering. They run in circles and run into each other but one makes clear tracks toward a stairwell. The other breaks for the back of the room, and Richard impedes its escape with a Spiderweb net.

Stuck to it, The Torchic wriggles, and then cried out as Luna executes a Thunderfang on its small body. The second Torchic however, runs back and sprays Richard with fire! Richard jumps backwards, that was unexpected.

Hrm. Seems plausible enough, as you look to Ectabat, whom is still staring into space, with a face of amazement.

still not sure how many moves i can tell my pokemon to do...
i want Hydro to use aqua tail (3 times?) on the free Torchic. RIchard use disable, string shot and spider wave on the trapped one in attempt to completley immobilize and prevent it from attacking. Luna, fiercely howl at the free one in hopes of intimidating it and it running away then use crunch and thunder fang. if the wild one flees then use the attacks on the trapped one. if either Torchic targets Richard, i want Hydro to protect him and take the blow

You look to Phione and sees if it know how to cheer Fenrir on. It does, and cheerfully does so as Fenrir digs. Fenrir really digs, zooming down within seconds.

Second turn to minutes, and minutes turn into longer stances of time. Then, the wall itself begins to move. It rumbles, and symbols appear on the wall. They stay for a few moments, and then fade away, just as Fenrir burrows back up, and shakes his head. You learn that its not a wall blocking you. This is a solid mass, possibly the top of something greater. Fenrir could only go down a few meters before something powerful prevented him for going deeper.

The Torchic that had the guts to attack Richard now glares at Hydro, unafraid of the surly water type. Hydro walked over, glaring at the small beings, and slapped his tail aroud. The appendage was now dripping with water, making the trapped one slightly uncomfortable. So the trapped one did what it could-it tried to Peck its way free! Richard wasn't having that, and mentally held the trapped one still. The free torchic was slammed by the tail, but for some reason, it didn't run away! He chirped, and flew at Hydro, slashing at his face! But Luna's howl, that was the kicker. Upon landing, and hearing the deeply fierce howl, followed by moving darkness running toward it, the fearless Torchic lost its nerve.

Luna chased the fearless one away for a bit, before turning back toward the trapped one. Held still by Richard, Hydro and Luna just railed on it. Two Aqua Tails, a Thunder Fang and a Crunch later, I'm shocked the little guy is even alive still. Richard spits some more webbing on it so it can't fight back, but I think it might be passed out.

Oh wait no. It's still good.

You big adieu to the Hoothoot again and turn toward Ecta. Ecta starts stammering abut what he's seeing, and you turn to look. Nothing. Just a HootHoot and a Bidoof. You look to Gulliver, and he shrugs as well. Maybe Ecta's had a long day? Naa.

You three head outside, and Ecta falls low to the ground, before shimmying up to the window.

You note the afternoon is slowly going by, and you see a family of Drifblim and their Drifloon float/walk by. Then you see it. A purple zigzag ling following after the Drifloon. It looks like a part of the building they floated past, but you spotted it!

But Ecta's still at the window staring at something, and his tail pincer is puling you toward him.

Fixing you belt, and readying yourself, a Ralts teleports you to the isle of Shinsuke! Upon landing, you feel the blast of warmth that comes from living on a volcanic isle. Its freeing, really. The rock is sharp, so you tread carefully, Tsunami opting to fly. You and your merry crew spot a Cubone many meters away, heading for the rim.

Jacen notes a Geodude up head, as it bounds around.
