Frost steps forward, eager to make you proud and take down this unusual pokémon. As the battle begins, you summon Mastermind -- it's still quite damaged, and it doesn't look like it is operational at the moment.

Meanwhile, the bear slams her fist forward, striking with absolute power [ -11HP Frost / -5PP ??? ]. Frost doubles back before striking with an iron tail [ -15HP ??? / -8PP Frost ]. Frost then tackles the bear with fighting energy [ -6HP ??? / -2PP Frost ].

The bear lets out a roar before slamming Frost repeatedly with an angry energy [ -18HP Frost / -8PP, -10% Atk, -10% Def ??? ], to which Frost responds with another iron tail [ -16HP ??? / -8PP Frost ].

The eevee awakens, sees you, and scampers off.

Spiritomb cackles once more before penetrating Ralts' mind with a piercing stare [ -5PP Spiritomb ]. The look haunts her mind, and she tries to cast a spell of locking on him. But... she cannot! How can this be!? Spiritomb cackles, having already locked her out of her own moveseet.

Sketcher, meanwhile, attempts to solidify the ghost pokémon, but can't quite get him to stand still. Bello and Pachi know they can't hit him until Sketcher manages, so they wait it out. As the beagle works out her plan, she is lulled into sleep by Spiritomb's hypnosis [ +100% Slp Sketcher / -3PP Spiritomb ].

Crap! This doesn't bode well at all. Spiritomb snickers loudly before disappearing completely. What!? Sketcher, still sound asleep, wimpers and moans -- she's being assaulted by a nightmare in her mind [ +10% Ntm, -10HP Sketcher / -5PP Spiritomb ].

You call out to your tiny murkrow buddy, but get no response. That crafty bird was already out the door and on his way to a graveyard for reasons you can't quite comprehend.

Cursing to yourself, you storm out of the house with Slaps and Sirius in tow. Coming up with a plan, you latch onto Slaps' tail and order him to leap high into the air -- as high as he can [ -5PP Mr. Slaps ]! At the peak of Slaps jump, you realize that this plan was perhaps not the best, and you begin falling back to the ground at an alarming speed, but before you can say your prayers, you are caught by Sirius! [ -5PP, @Levitate Sirius ], who had previously used magnet rise to keep you safe.

You are now floating ten feet above the ground, but there's no sign of Trill. You curse the night.

This is not good, you think to yourself. Sketcher is sleeping and having a vicious nightmare she can't wake up from. Pachi steps forward and barks a loud bark -- the soundwaves are powerful and knock against the varying gravestones, causing a great reverberation [ -5PP Pachirisu ]. Blade and Ghosts nod to one another, each knowing that they're not getting anywhere on this island. Zubat agrees that a graveyard would be much more suiting for someone of his species, while Miles would prefer not to go.

The shiny houndour, however, doesn't want to end her tenure with Ghosts just yet. She rummages through Ghosts' bag and finds the red and white-colored poké ball, depressing the button with her wet nose. The ball sucks her in, and doesn't even shake before locking.

Looks like you, Ghosts, caught a houndour.

The ball is teleported to the main entrance of the Safari Zone. You both shrug your shoulders and gather around both Grand Star and Thunderhand -- the two of them together teleport all of you to the entrance of Grave's Yard [ -15PP Grand Star / -15PP Thunderhand ]. The journey is quite taxing on the both of them.

Looking around, you see the gate has been blasted open. The smoke coming off the gate causes you both to deduce that this was recent -- and done with electricity.

Round 45
Pachi steps forward, very eager to take on this ghostly apparition -- the one holding the key to the next artifact on your list. Swiftly, she lets a few sparks fly, firing off a bolt of lightning that singes the ghost's ethereal body [ -6HP Spiritomb / -3PP Pachirisu ]. He cackles again, seemingly amused by the pain of it all, before staring deeply into Pachi's eyes -- she suddenly feels a lot less energetic than she once did [ -10PP Pachirisu / -5PP Spiritomb ].

Pachi doesn't let it bother her too much, however, and instead paralyzes her foe (slightly) with a quick thunder wave [ +12% Par Spiritomb / -3PP Pachirisu ]. Spiritomb's body filters it out, however, and he retalliates with a dark pulse -- the rippling bolt of darkness envelopes Pachi very easily [ -8HP Pachirisu / -5PP Spiritomb ].

Pachi shrugs off the last attack before firing off a large orb of electricity that is absorbed by Spiritomb's mass [ -8HP Spiritomb / -5PP Pachirisu ]. Again, he laughs at her feeble attempts before striking back with a burning sensation [ +3% Brn Pachirisu / -4PP Spiritomb ].

Pachi is retreated and replaced by Bello, who stares into the night sky, pondering her next move. Sunrise is not for hours, there's no way she can muster up a solar beam. And as long as this ghost is still gaseous, a hyper beam is just going to shoot right through him. Spiritomb continues to cackle whilst sending off a ghostly wind that brushes against Bello's features [ -6HP Bellossom / -3PP Spiritomb ].

As Bello continues to ponder her next move, you hear something from the south -- it's a... murkrow? Odd. Spiritomb readies his next attack, but before he can execute it, the crow dives forward with a combination technique and throws his body into the ghost dealing heavy damage [ -34HP Spiritomb / -20PP, -5HP Murkrow ].

Spiritomb is taken back by the new opponent, as are you. The bird flaps his wings and joins your side -- closer inspection reveals that he's got a collar on -- "TRILL", is his name. He's got an owner... but why is he all the way out here? Poor lil' guy looks exhausted.
