The battle will take within the charred remains of an old hotel. Because of the heat that still radiates off the scorched wood, Fire-type moves are increased in power to the extent that both Roger and Yurei essentially lose their resistances to Fire. Certain species of Fire Pokemon live here and will attack if disturbed. Additionally, there are large gaps where the walls have crumbled away in places, allowing weather moves to work. Oh, and be careful you don't get too rambunctious or else the floor might give way...

    Hypnosis ~ Toxic ~ Will O Wisp

If it blocks the attacks in any way, either by avoiding them (moves like Dig, Double Team, Smokescreen, just plain looking away, etc.) or by reflecting them (Magic Coat etc.) then use Double Team instead.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 18 ‡

Three matches down, two to go! The next battle takes place within the lobby of what once was a prosperous hotel but now is no more than a skeleton of blackened wood. Our contenders release two new Pokemon to complement the surroundings: a fierce, jaw-snapping Arcanine and a composed, elegant Vulpix. Suddenly, the sun outside begins shining ridiculously bright and the light seeps in through the windows, cracks and crumbled gaps in the walls. Meanwhile, Roger gnashes his pearly whites in a sign of aggression and Vulpix feels less mighty. Oh-ho, so much excitement already. Let’s see which of these fighters will win this match-up!

Roger begins by howling. Suddenly, a white energy shroud materializes and wraps itself around Roger. Yurei, who was originally going to try to lull her opponent into a deep sleep, instead does a little spin on the spot. Suddenly, three Vulpix clones materialize and surround Yurei.

    Yurei: <-4 EP; -1 Att; 3 clones>
    Roger: <-4 EP; Sgd>

Roger peers from Vulpix to Vulpix to Vulpix to Vulpix and decides to just own the whole lot of them in one fell swoop. Roger inhales deeply before breathing out a massive gale of blistering-hot wind that fills the room and wipes out all of the clones in one go. Yurei, who’s used to receiving only minimal damage from Fire attacks, receives neutral damage… and then a little extra thanks to that pesky sun. Annoying! She begins hacking up some Toxic goo but stops. Oh, right, Safeguard. Since Roger is still blocking Status moves, Yurei instead does another spin on the spot. Whoo. The clones are back.

    Yurei: <-15 HP; -4 EP; 3 clones>
    Roger: <-8 EP>

Roger finds a bit of mud lying on the ground and does an about-face. Using his hind legs, he begins kicking it at Yurei and her clone posse. However, the mud simply strikes one of the imitation Vulpixes which vanishes at once. Since Roger is still protected from whatever statuses she might try to inflict, Yurei again goes for a Double Team. Jeepers, it’s starting to get crowded in here.

    Yurei: <-4 EP; 5 clones>
    Roger: <-3 EP>

    Somebody's a sore loser, eh?

Start off with Spite to make Bulldoze signifigantly harder to use and rile him up, then stand in front of a particularly large hole in the floor, and when it charges towards you use Faint Attack to dodge and push him into the hole. Use the two moves like a combo, if possible. Spend the last turn using Ominous Wind, putting extra energy in to ensure the stat boost.

Spite + Faint Attack ~ Ominous Wind

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 19 ‡

As the next round begins, Roger stares down the Vulpix posse and decides to destroy them all in one fell swoop with a Bulldoze. He slams a paw into the brittle floorboards and everything begins shaking, tossing Yurei into a scorched sofa while eliminating her clones. However, before Yurei can act, the ground begins to give way. Craaaap! We crash through the floor and tumble to the room below. It’s a dim basement filled with old burnt mattresses, clearly intended for storage. Fortunately, Yurei and Roger are too nimble to sustain crash damage, but suddenly a Torkoal and a Pignite squirm out of a crawlspace. Grimacing at all this disruption, they each target Yurei and Roger with a blistering Flamethrower before returning to their hiding places. Huh.

Whatever, the show must go on. Yurei closes her eyes and a deep purple glow surrounds her body. Suddenly, Roger feels… different, but he can’t exactly explain how. However, less mysterious is the sudden Faint Attack that comes tearing toward him. Yurei lashes out and slashes him in the snout.

    Yurei: <-9 HP; -10 HP from Torkoal; -8 EP; -1 Spd; 0 clones>
Roger: <-5 HP; -10 HP from Pignite; -4 EP; Spt>

Fortunately for Roger, the ground down here is made of solid cement and thus there will be no crashing as he delivers a second Bulldoze. However, the attack incurs far more fatigue than it did the first time around. What gives? Giggling, Yurei summons a mysterious gale to come blowing through the basement. Roger covers his face with his paws as the Ominous Wind batters away at him ruthlessly.

    Yurei: <-9 HP; -5 EP; -1 Spd>
    Roger: <-6 HP; -8 EP>

Having expended all her actions for the time being, Yurei is left vulnerable to the third series of shock waves delivered by Roger. The attack tosses her into a stray pile of cinderblocks. Roger begins barking laughter.

    Yurei: <-9 HP; -1 Spd>
    Roger: <-8 EP>

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 20 ‡

As the next round begins, Roger lumbers over toward Yurei and picks up the Vulpix in his jaws. There’s nothing she can do as he exerts pressure, driving his formidable fangs into her soft side. When he’s done, he tosses her down like a rag doll. She doesn’t get back up right away, but not due to fatigue; instead, she appears to be meditating on the cold ground. Yeah, I’d need to go to my happy place if I were covered in Arcanine drool, too.

    Yurei: <-8 HP; -4 EP; +1 SpA; +1 SpD>
    Roger: <-6 EP>

As Yurei begins sucking back air in preparation for a blistering Heat Wave, Roger panics and begins trying to Dig his way to safety. Except that’s cement, buddy. Fortunately for him, it’s all cracked and crazed after those Bulldozes last round, but it still takes him a little time to claw through the thin stone layer to the earth beneath. While he’s Digging, Yurei lets loose with her attack and scorches the Arcanine with a gale of hot air. Now that his tush is feeling a little warmer, Roger finally manages to burrow past the cement chips and soon vanishes into the soil.

    Yurei: <-8 EP>
    Roger: <-14 HP>

Yurei peers left and right, waiting on eggshells for Roger’s resurgence. Suddenly, the earth begins shaking and she unleashes a hasty Overheat in a panic. However, since Roger needs a little extra time to claw his way back up through the cement, she fires off the attack too early. Suddenly, the ground gives way as Roger comes tearing up amid dirt and chunks of cement. He delivers a powerful swat to the vulnerable Vulpix and she lands upon a soot-covered mattress. Well, at least she had a cushy landing?

Just then, a Magcargo and a Rapidash (in a hotel?) waltz in from the next room. Ahh, I think all this cement-smashing has woken them up. This time they each deliver a powerful Giga Impact at Roger and Yurei. Ouch! Both Pokemon are slammed into the wall and left in a crumpled heap.

    Yurei: <-12 HP; -15 HP from Magcargo; -12 EP>
    Roger: <-12 EP; -15 HP from Rapidash>

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 21 ‡

Just as Roger has Yurei against the ropes, so to speak, and could finish her with a single move he… retreats? He leaps atop one of the mattress and bounds back up to the lobby. Most of the floor has crumbled away leaving just a narrow edge around the gap where he can stand. With limited mobility available to him, the Arcanine watches his balance and begins to suck up the sunlight. The blazing Sunny Day allows his body to metabolize sunlight at a more rapid pace. From the floor below, Yurei tries to Imprison this move, but her attempt yields absolutely no results. She blinks. Eh?

    Yurei: <-4 EP>
    Roger: <-8 EP; +20 HP>

Yurei begins to panic, aware that her foe is in total control of his entire moveset. She attempts to curl up and rest in a last-ditch attempt to increase her health, but her brutal Speed (or lack thereof) gets the best of her: before she can move, a weather-boosted Heat Wave from the floor above blows her into the wall. She slumps down to the ground below, unmoving.

    Yurei: <-13 HP>
    Roger: <-8 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    Notes:

    > Sorry, Cynder, but Imprison is one of the moves that has a different effect in ASB: you essentially pick a specific move to lock out that both you and your opponent know/have used during the current battle; as a result, your opponent can't use that move for however long the effect lasts. Since you didn't select a move, Yurei tried to Imprison the last move Roger used, Morning Sun, which she can't learn so the move failed. IIRC, this exact thing once happened to DCM in a match DL reffed.

I hate to ask, but could I have a re reffing? This is the entry in the Movelist:

Imprison -PSY- The user consumes significant energy to prevent one opponent from reusing any move that the pair of them both can learn that has been used in the battle thus far. If the attack which is attempted to Imprison is of the victim’s type, the energy required to use Imprison rises significantly, and the attack takes much longer to do.
    Fatigue: Moderate/High
    Accuracy: Excellent

    I even went as far to check that before I posted ^^;

EDIT: Wait, member of the season? Neat!

Lol, you do your homework. Well done. To be honest, I think the ambiguous phrasing here is "any move."

I'm interpreting "any move" to mean "any individual move" and you're interpreting it to mean "any move, not limited to one." I think both are fair readings of that Movelist entry, which, if memory serves me correctly, has been edited repeatedly. I think, regardless of who's correct, it should be edited again to increase clarity.

I'm gonna fire a PM to DL to ask him to help us iron out the differences between our interpretations. If I'm wrong (which, admittedly, I easily could be; it would not be an unusual occurrence ) I will absolutely provide a re-reffing. Does that work with you?

I do my homework! It all depends on the move though, if it's something I think might be obvious like my mistake with Bulldoze before I don't normally bother.

PMing DL to clarify is a good idea, the wording is a bit vague.

If imprison goes the way she want to, then Imprision would be ridiculously overpowered no? Think about it. Someone could just use Imprison as long as they have the same move in there movelist, and eventually, it would wreck their whole movepool. Meaning if she used imprison the way she wanted, then i literally wouldnt be able to use most of my fire moves eventually. See what i mean?

    DCM:
Roger use Heat Wave Fire Blast and Flamethrower.
    Cynder:
Yurei use Imprison and relax the rest.
    Oslo's Ref:
Arcanine is unable to use any of those moves for the rest of the battle, due to Imprisons effect.

    Unfair ya know?

It's only like moves such as Pain Split and especially Destiny Bond, they can effectively knock out a pokemon in a single round. The only time it would be truely broken is if the two battlers were the same species of pokemon.

    Hi all.

After reading this delightful match (Get at me son? XD!) I have an answer.

The wording is ambiguous, but in some more recent reffings, Imprison is meant to affect any move the foe has used within the last two rounds, that both the Pokemon know. (So yeah its good to say yer gonna imprison one specific move.) If you use Imprison again, the first move you locked out will be freed in order to lock down a second move.

I'll go try to reword Imprison so that dun happen again. Continue!

The final arena will be found at Spear Pillar on a standard field. Darkrai is present high above the match and is attempting the cloak the entire battlefield in darkness. Meanwhile, Cresselia is doing battle with him in hopes of counteracting the effect. Every other round, the field will rotate between illumination and total darkness. When the field is illuminated, Dark-type Pokemon can see but they are sapped of strength to the extent that they may only use moves categorized as Status (Will-O-Wisp, Synthesis, Leer, etc.) and attack moves with a base power of 50 or less. When the field is shrouded in darkness, Dark-type Pokemon have access to all their moves and all damage dealt is doubled; however, accuracy is reduced to 33%. This goes for all moves, including Aerial Ace and Earthquake which generally don’t miss. The strange energy exuded by the Legendaries here prevents copies; thus, Double Team is not an option. While Darkrai and Cresselia battle, there’s a chance you guys might accidentally get hit by an errant move or two.

The battle begins in illumination. Cynder, you're up.

And I was hoping you'd use Tyranitar! I have a few tricks up my sleeve....

Start off with a super quick Taunt. That'll reduce the amount of moves he can use by quite a bit while it's light, and I'm fairly sure that you'll be quicker than him. Then use Swords Dance to up attack by a lot, and finish with Nasty Plot. If it uses a physical attack use Counter (which has no base power), but make sure that you get the Taunt in there first.

Taunt ~ Swords Dance ~ Nasty Plot

EDIT: Irrelevant, but at the end of the battle how will the points be spread? Will it be the same as a normal 5 on 5, or counted for each individual battle?

Alright T-Bone, she is gonna try and make u feel bad about yourself. But you got this. You area fudging BARRICADE. Do yourself a favor and cover your ears and close your eyes, and think of how awesome you are. Wait a long while, just to make sure she is done. Then open your eyes quickly to see if shes given up. If she has, use your first move. Taunt. If this goes well, her move will be out, and ours in. She will be done the rest of the round. Next, use Screech and Rock Smash.

Cynder, I have tricks as well. Dont take my 7 foot whatever dinosaur for advantage. He will eat you.

    TEAM CYNDER
    versus
    TEAM DCM

    Location: Type-Dependent (Current: Spear Pillar)
Rules: Five 1 on 1-style match-ups; battlers may only use Pokemon of the same type as their opponent’s Pokemon
    Abilities: Active
    DQ Time: 3 days

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 22 ‡

The final match-up is upon us as the battlefield shifts one final time to the Spear Pillar. Though normally the home to Dialga and Palkia, today two other Legendary Pokemon have made this place the site of a second epic fray. Up above, Darkrai and Cresselia exchange a series of blistering strikes as Cresselia's powers illuminate the rocky pitch. Cynder and DCM summon their final Pokemon: the former sends out a bipedal fox while the latter goes with a monstrous creature as hard as stone. The latter lets out a roar and summons swirls of sand which spin in loose eddies all over the field. Ooh, spiffy atmosphere. Let’s do this!

Yami narrows his eyes and barks a couple rude remarks at T-Bone. He informs his foe that “T-Bone” is a name for a dog. Or perhaps a type of traffic incident. Or a steak. But definitely not a Tyranitar! However, the big dino doesn’t seem to be listening. Instead, he appears to have retreated to his happy place with his hands pressed to his ears. Good call, buddy. When at last T-Bone sees Yami’s gums stop flapping, he removes his hands and issues a Taunt of his own. He tells Yami that Yu-Gi-Oh is for big gigantic mega-dorks. The Zoroark's eyes go wide. No! It's just not true!

    Yami: <-4 EP; Tnt>
    T-Bone: <-4 EP>

Yami growls after that vicious verbal blow. Okay, time to kick some some dino-fug butt. He leaps toward T-Bone and lashes out with a minor physical strike only made weaker by the Tyranitar’s rocky exterior. Grinning, T-Bone opens wide and cuts loose with an ear-piercing shriek. Yami winces as the noise resonates throughout her entire body, weakening her capacity to withstand direct attacks.

    Yami: <-2 EP; -2 Def>
    T-Bone: <-2 HP; -4 EP>

Thrilled with the way things are going, T-Bone trudges toward Yami with his forearm raised. He brings it slamming down upon Yami as though smashing rocks; however, despite the move’s strength and its ability to further lower his Defence, Yami has nonetheless managed to grab hold of his opponent’s arm. Uh-oh. With impeccable might, Yami hoists T-Bone overhead and launches the hunk of rock into, well, some other hunks of rock. Ouchies.

    Yami: <-10 HP; -7 EP; -1 Def>
    T-Bone: <-15 HP; -2 EP>

The sand whips at Yami ruthlessly <-3 HP>.

Suddenly, Darkrai lets out a cackle as he encases Cresselia within a Dark Void. Her head sinks and she succumbs to sleep, still hovering above our battle. Without her to keep the darkness at bay, the field goes black.

Toxic - Thunder Wave - Hone Claws

If she does anything to stop your moves, if they are somehow thwarted use Rock Smash

Hmm, I don't know why the pic or the links don't work, they work fine on my computer... Anyways, if you want to see it jst type ORLY into google images.

Start off with Dig making sure that you move before it can use Toxic and stay there if possible until it's used Thunder Wave, and when you get out of the ground use Focus Blast after hitting it with Dig at close range to make it more likely to hit.

    Dig ~ Focus Blast

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 23 ‡

As the next round begins, the field is already plunged in total darkness. Neither battler can see a thing; moreover, all they can hear is the noise of the Sandstorm as it whips through the air. Yami decides to escape this rotten situation by Digging. However, since he cannot see T-Bone before descending beneath the earth, he isn’t sure how far he’s supposed to burrow in order to land the hit. T-Bone, some twenty feet away, hears the noise of turning earth above the storm’s roar and spews out a Toxic. However, Yami has already vanished. The gunk misses.

    Yami: <…>
    T-Bone: <-4 EP>

Way beneath the surface, Yami waits. And waits. And waits. How long before that big lout shoots off its next attack, anyway? Without any way to know whether T-Bone has already issued a move, Yami surfaces… and hits nothing. He blinks through the darkness and suddenly sees the crackling of electricity five feet away. No! Yami tries to avoid the move, but before she can, the sizzling Thunder Wave comes zipping toward her.

It instead strikes the earth mere inches away.

    Yami: <-6 EP>
    T-Bone: <-4 EP>

T-Bone has no idea whether his attempt at aiming at the noise of the Digging Zoroark has worked. Suddenly, the arena illuminates again fleetingly as a mighty Focus Blast comes tearing through the darkness. Again, maddeningly, the move misses: it collides with the boulder just to T-Bone’s right which explodes. T-Bone breathes a side of relief and picks up a shard of rock that has landed on his foot. He uses it to sharpen his claws in preparation for a strike.

    Yami: <-10 EP>
    T-Bone: <-4 EP; +1 Att; +1 Acc>

The Sandstorm continues its assault on Yami <-3 HP>.

Without warning, Cresselia rises from her sleep and the field is bathed in her light once more. Her whole body hums as she begins charging up a massive Future Sight.
