Confident that you've weakened Joltik enough, you toss the Pokeball. Suddenly, Treecko appears and intercepts the ball midair! She runs out the doors with it, giggling like mad, and now you're going to have to chase after her and find her and battle her and, oh God--

Naw, I'm just riffing. You throw the ball at Joltik and she gets sucked up inside. The ball wiggles once, wiggles twice, wiggles a third time for good luck aaand... clicks!

Suddenly, you and the Pokeball are teleported to the Safari Zone front counter. The clerk hands you the Pokeballs containing your newly acquired Pokemon and hopes you have a pleasant day.

Peering around, you see several Gulpins clustering around an upturned, rusted garbage bin. A Drifloon bobs about overhead while a fierce Pachirisu tests out some boxing moves on a cracked lawn gnome.

Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here.

You scoop up another handful of gems to replace the ones that fell in the water before hopping aboard Aikoku and flying out of the cove. You return to the pagoda where Houndour waits. You show him the precious stones upon arrival and he nods approvingly.

"For your efforts," he says, "I will give you the Vulpix Tail you desire."

However, you hear shouts in the near distance. Before he can give you the goods, you see three Combuskens running up. They're all wearing official badges.

"Stop right there!" one of them shouts. "You're all under arrest for the illegal buying and selling of Pokemon remains!"

You decide to simply watch the proceedings without gambling. Tauros lays into Miltank with a series of Headbutts, causing the latter Pokemon to repeatedly flinch. As expected, Tauros seems to be on the path to victory.

Beside you, a female Nidoran is cheering herself hoarse in favour of Miltank. She holds a fistful of betting stubs and you suspect she wagered quite a bit on the underdog. However, as Miltank takes another hit, it seems as though Nidoran is soon going to be losing out as well.

The Combuskens don't seem to care what you were planning on doing with the Vulpix Tail or whether you own a whole army of Ninetales: the law is the law. They advance, ready to apprehend you. Terrified by the advancing officers, Houndour scarpers and one of the three Combuskens tears after him.

The other two clench their fists menacingly. While two Combuskens probably wouldn't have given you too much trouble only a handful of rounds ago, you expect this will be an uphill battle with the current condition of your party members. Uh-oh.

In a panic, you hop upon Aikoku and try to hightail it out of there. However, the Combuskens don't like this idea. They each grab onto one of Aikoku's tail feathers and plant their feet in the ground, preventing your struggling Braviary from attaining flight. He decides to Roost instead and Yurei, meanwhile, tries to entrance both of the Combuskens with a Hypnosis. Quick as can be, both of the Fire-types throw up impenetrable Protects while Mirror Moving Yurei's Hypnotic waves, causing your Ninetales to instead be the one lulled into a deep sleep.

While one of the Combuskens uses Strength to keep Aikoku pinned, the other approaches you furiously. He raises a fist and brings it swinging down toward you with a perilous Rock Smash--

And suddenly, all goes black.

When you come to, you find yourself in some sort of detainment cell lined with stone. You peer around blearily and see a set of metal bars blocking your escape. You give yourself a pat-down and realize your Ultra Balls, Pokeballs, Skarmory Feather and Bony Mask are all gone. Your Pokemon are nowhere to be seen, either.

Pachirisu unleashes a sizzling Thunder Wave, while Celebi ultimately decides to play it safe with a Protect. The electricity runs off the shield and leaves Celebi unharmed, giving her the perfect opportunity to put her increased strength to the test. She zips forward and cuts loose with a pair of Seed Bombs, throwing Pachirisu back quite a ways.

Your little zappy squirrel, however, shakes off the damage and sprints toward Celebi. She sinks her chompers into Celebi's arm, delivering a pair of strong attacks.

You peer around for any way to escape, but there doesn't seem to be any easy way out of here. You stick your head out the bars and look down the narrow walkway outside of your cell. You see a sleep Flareon with a set of keys tied around her neck. She seems to be wearing an official badge and you try to ask her what's up, but she looks aggravated for having been awoken.

"Keep it down, perp!" she snaps. "Don't play stupid! You were trying to purchase Pokemon remains... the tails of an actual Vulpix! That's a ten year imprisonment for you!"

Well, doesn't look like you'll be getting a trial. Just as Flareon settles back down for a little more sleep, you peer at the cell across from yours. Sitting there with a muzzle tied around his snout is the Houndour from before. He peers at you with timorous eyes.

Houndour treads carefully toward the slumbering guard and slips the keys off the Flareon's neck. He then tiptoes back toward you and starts trying to unlock your lock. After approximately a minute of trying, he eventually succeeds.

The door swings open and you step out into the hallway. You peer left and right and see numerous other cells containing other captive Pokemon, but none of them seem to be yours. There's a door at either end of the corridor.

How do you proceed?

> Talk to the other prisoners

You make a left out of the cell and tread carefully down the corridor so as not to attract the attention from the other prisoners. You go through the doors and wind up at a staircase heading downwards. Holding your breath, you tiptoe down the steps and exit through the first door you come across.

As you and Houndour step out into another hallway, you see a door with the words Holding stamped on front. It seems to be unguarded.

You continue watching as Tauros charges up a mighty Hyper Beam and unleashes it at Miltank. The powerful eruption of energy sends Miltank skidding backward and ultimately deals her a KO.

The crowd applauds and the individuals who made bets, including the suddenly depressed-looking Nidoran standing nearby, approach Eevee to either hand over cash or collect winnings. Soon, all the Pokemon gathered here disperse and go their separate ways.
