The 3 eggs for 2 points deal is normally only running during the tree events, or at special times of the year.

Ash, the cost of a pokeball in the Safari Zone is the same as an egg. If you play a Speed Match, then you can find a dragon in 15 to 20 rounds, a specific dragon if you wanted, rather than risk losing your 2 points here to another fire type. A randomiser is used, you've got a 1 in 3 chance (I think) of getting a dragon type.

Hey I just realized.
If I were to buy a plain egg, would it be possible to hatch that into a Surskit, since Masquerain, Surskit's evolution, is a flying type?
Or a Mineral Egg hatch into a Torchick since Blaziken is a fighting type?
Or do type based eggs only hatch into types that only the lowest evolution form has?
Sorry if this has already been answered, I haven't really seen anything on it.

The eggs hatch into the lowest evo of the specific type it represents. So if you wanted Masquerain, you'd try either a Hydro or uhhh the bug egg
