To all audience members, if you would please keep to your assigned seats and do not put any appendages outside the viewing pods, we would much appreciate it. We certainly don't want a repeat of last time, when a sudden teleportation left an arm behind and it was ravaged by high winds. Your safety is our number two priority. Our number one is trying to avoid another lawsuit. Now, we welcome you all to the Strategym, the dedicated battle arena of ASB Gym Leader Crazy Elf Boy, who has been challenged for ownership of a Strategym Badge by newcomer Kirby97. We spoke to Gym Leader Elf before the match. "You're a very brave man to be taking me on Kirby and I commend you for it" he said. Kirby97 refused to comment, his focus being on the battle only. With a team of only 5 un-evolved pokemon, is he making a mistake going up against a Gym Leader and his team of over 100 pokemon ranging for basic to fully evolved? Only time will tell, but this is certain to be an intense battle right to the end. Without further ado, the combatants take the stands, and release their pokemon.
ROUND ONE
Kirby commands first, his glittering Buizel nodding in confirmation of the attacks. Crazy Elf Boy's yellow furred Vulpix, Keaton, take his orders as well, and the match begins. Keaton begins to stare intently at Buizel, but the water type isn't focusing on his opponent, more on the empty spots around him. The shiny pokemon summons a wave of water to surround it's body, and uses it to propell forward at high speed, slamming into Keaton and then landing close by the fox ready to attack again. Keaton doesn't look too pleased about being drenched so quickly, but shakes off the drops of water and grins, knowing that his next move can't fail now.
At such close range, and standing right next to each other, Buizel rears his paws back, ready to chop down on Keaton's head. Their eyes lock and Buizel hesitates. What's going on with Keaton's eyes? Are they... glowing? Buizel can't stop looking, and as Keaton starts to sway gently back and forth, Buizel does the same. With each sway, his eyes get heavier, and his body starts to sag. Before long, Buizel drops to the ground, lying face down on the floor, snoring away peacefully. Keaton grins and trots around his opponent, making sure the water type isn't just faking it.
Certain that his foe is completely asleep, Keaton gets into the perfect position to attack. Flecks of energy, glowing like the sun gradually turning green like a fresh pasture, swarm together to form a ball of pure energy. Keaton waits until the attack is fully charged before kicking it forward where it collides with the sleeping pokemon, hammering him with grass energy that leves him squealing in his sleep. Is it enough to wake the pokemon up? No, it looks like Buizel is still asleep, no doubt dreaming about... well whatever Buizel like to dream about, I couldn't possibly comment.
As the round comes to an end, the viewing pods vanish from the sky, followed by the trainer pods and the pokemon themselves. Unaffected by the teleport, Buizel continues to snore, drooling slightly on the ground. Keaton quickly checks out his new surroundings, but as a Gym Leader's pokemon, it has been here before. A deep red hot caldera on the top of a very active volcano. Several holes of boiling hot magma litter the battle field and will on occasion burst out possibly damaging the pokemon currently out. It also has a pesky habit of overflowing the magma beneath onto the battle field, the only areas on this field that are safe from this magma are a hardened wave of rock on the east and west side of the field. Battle has moved to the Fire Ridge of Orin for the next round.
