Ah, thanks.
Well, they've disagreed a lot in the flashbacks so far. But I guess the key issues must be even bigger.

This is getting interesting. Funny how it's always the smaller things that keep the big things from being done.

Mike: Okay, so eleventy billion is about as much as a zillion. We've established this much. But which is the greater number, hm?
One man's trauma is another man's... er, never mind. That sounds bad.
I'm glad you liked the quote, by the way. It was also an excellent way to take a panel and use it elsewhere completely out of context. *grins*
Shonta: Agh! Not Freebird! (Seriously, I have a good friend who's in a band, and he laments incidents when fans call out Freebird during concerts. Apparently some groups actually heed the demands... and play it continuously until everyone shuts up.)
It's quite funny that you should mention small things keeping big things from getting done, actually. Check out my comment for #159 and you'll see why.
Gabi: The key issues are always bigger. Except when they're smaller. Or the same size.
How does one measure the size of issues, anyway? And what scale do they use? Is it in metric?
Ada: See, this is how I keep you on edge. I've become so notorious for jerking you back and forth from one plotline to another than staying on one would be a shock. Victory is mine!
It's story time.
#159: When I created this page, I started by looking for a picture of a door.
For eight hours.
Why is it that the simplest, most mundane pictures are always the hardest ones to find? You search Google for "door" and get 17 naked photos plus a picture of a girl walking through a door. Naked.
Don't know about how they scale up, but Wikipedia says the size of a zillion is "unfathomable", whereas eleventy billion is simply a billion times eleventy, so...
Ah yes, I think some can really picture Dragonfree as the principal... Good thing I recently pickup up on her gender or I might have been surprised just now.
But what could the principal want to tell the pupil about the presidents of the planet? (--> Quadruple P-power!) Maybe something about those "key issues"?

What does the principal want to tell Dark Sage? And what's it all about? You'll find out predictably soon.

Or something similar to the present rants of M4?

mr_pikachu learned something: have SafeSearch enabled on Google to filter out terrible content. Nice door, though.
But this most recent strip seems like a nice twist, in my opinion. I wonder what part of the essay would bring "enlightenment" to Dark Sage. The whole arc makes me think of the politicians that will tell you what you want to hear, and even if they do work towards their promised goals, some feel a sense of betrayal and begin to see how blind they were; the page we have now is where somebody, perhaps a journalist, informs the citizen of the politician's wrong doing.

I might have exaggerated a little when I was describing my search results. But not by much.
Shh! That's supposed to be a secret!
Laura: Yeah, I know. The problem is that it misses a large portion of that adult content and often knocks out legitimate results. It's a give-and-take.
Something will certainly shed light on the situation. But what could be so big that Dragonfree would break the rules by divulging it? More importantly, how will Dark Sage react?
Let's see what he thinks of his ally's ideals...
DL: Dissuasion? Well, maybe...
Pee-wee's Playhouse, by the way, terrifies me. Some people are afraid of spiders. Others are afraid of heights. I'm afraid of talking chairs.
So what's in this highly hyped essay?
#161: This was one of those pages where I had to change the script to make it all fit on one page. The whole of that essay excerpt was supposed to be in panel four, while Dark Sage was going to do a little more interrogating than that one question in panel five. Because of how the back-and-forth was structured, I had to pare down Dark Sage's questioning in order to preserve Paradox's diatribe.
Have you noticed that several of Master of Paradox's (that is, Great Teacher Onizuka's) pictures have white backgrounds? I have a lot of images like that, so I suspect they're cels. I'm trying to avoid using more than one on any given page, but sometimes it's hard when certain panels require specific emotions.
Ooookay, that sounded a little too extreme. To put it lightly. Maybe he should slip into something more comfortable...like a straitjacket.

So he believes in assassination... it's not that shocking, is it? Not that I believe in assassination myself, but once you cut back the dramatics, that's what it boils down to; extremist but hardly new. But MoP seriously believes that once the current leaders are overthrown the world will forever have no leaders? How delusional is he?

Their alliance sure fell apart in a hurry, didn't it?
So, do you agree with Dark Sage? Do you prefer Master of Paradox's outlook? Or have they both lost it?
Damn! Paradox smoked his ass!
Go, Paradox! Absolutely unwarranted wanton destruction FTW!!!
Flame War as a forbidden technique = truth.
Personally, I think Dark Sage still has plenty of sanity left; vague resemblance to the liberals of 19th century Europe (as well as modern America) is now starting to show. Relatively, it appears that while the superiors in Fanfic represent conservatism, Paradox shows some pretty radical beliefs.
I just hope there isn't too much spontaneous combustion to where the rest of the story is ruined!

Interesting question, Brian. I think it depends on the society. In some groups, anarchy can work. In others, it would only cause trouble, if it can be achieved at all.

I've lost count of how many times I said "thanks" in the Results Thread, but one more time couldn't hurt. Thanks, everyone! I truly appreciate all your support. ^_^
Blade: Gives a new meaning to "baked goods," huh?
Unwarranted, random destruction does have its place from time to time. Keeps things interesting. The key is knowing when to thrust a little order into that chaos.
Laura: Rebels have plenty of ways to combat authority. Some are slightly less acceptable than others.
Interesting political take on the tentative groups. Everyone has their own ideology. When conflicting ideologies clash, the question is often one of force. Who has the drive to make their vision a reality?
Don't worry about me burning away the whole story. Order in the chaos. That's all there is to it.
Magi: Freedom requires discipline. Discipline requires wisdom. And wisdom is rarely found in abundance.
Can the fires of passion survive the fog of war?
Gabi: Anarchy can sometimes survive under specific circumstances. Are those criteria satisfied in this case?

Random > tandem.
I'm still on Paradox's side. He doesn't seem like the type to just create utter anarchy like Mewf0ur wants (Even though that would be awesome.)...
There's a middle ground here somewhere. A way for anarchy to work in an organized manner. Like a Rube Goldberg machine: Everything is wildly uncoordinated and looks completely undependable, but it all works itself into an efficient system that may work far better than the cut-and-dry version ever did. I think THAT'S Paradox's true plan.
It just seems to suit him.
The question is... How is he gonna pull it off...
Of course, it all makes sense mow. Master of Paradox really is a master of paradoxes, or how ever it's spelled
Create the image of an uncontrolable crazy only interested in random stupidity and destruction. Then use that image to seem reletivly harmless while reaking massive destruction. Them steal womens undergarments. Finally, after a few more steps, profit. Delicious profit.

Yeah, I suppose I should do a WotF homework, no? I've seemed to forget some of the little stuffs that happen back then (I still remember Lil' Pika, though)
Shuppet Master asked the question that I have been wondering as well. Uh-huh... so, someone else been sticking to Mr_pika rule #(insert number here), eh? If you act like an idiot, people will underestimate you. Or something. Ah well, guess I do need to do a revision on WotF
So, MoP is talking about an anarchy? I think revolution will be a better word, don't you think? (but that's just semantic nonsense, yes?) But, if one were to pull off an anarchy, I think assassination would take place somewhere in the process.

Mike: Are there degrees of genuineness? And what about insanity?
Don't blame others for your postcount. If you view it as a problem, there's only one remedy...
Yeah, I figured there couldn't be any better way to end the flashback. Anything else would've been either too sappy or too stupid. Explosions fix everything!
Glad you liked panel six here. I'm not trying to win any particular Awards... I'm just trying to make every page of WotF worthwhile.
Blade: Hah! Touche, Bladey.
Some forms of anarchy work themselves into what you described. People work out trades and such without an explicit social structure but with implicit social norms. It depends completely on the culture, the people, and the influences on both of them.
But how can one plan such a complex and precarious system...?
Magi: What, you thought the name was ill-fitting?
Yes, that looks roughly like MoP's plan. Except that you forgot women's outergarments. Really, what good is one without the other? It's like a core without the apple. Or something.
That, and the fact that total anarchy would probably make profit completely useless. What with the abandonment of money and all.
Faiz: Yes, I should start assigning homework. Tonight's reading is Book One, class!
Rule #1 is quite tricky. The key is to act like an idiot but not to actually be one. Which is almost contradictory if one considers oneself to be defined by one's own actions. It's critical to find the balance between insanity and brilliance.
The intended result of MoP's revolution, it would seem, is the aforementioned anarchy. It does seem like a bit of bloodshed is necessary for such a feat, though.
Thanks for your congratulations! ^_^
It's about time we switched perspectives.
#164: It's time for us to get down to business. What is Fanfic's strongest weapon? Why was it kept a secret for all this time? And what's the meaning behind "GM"?
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Read or Die. Haven't had the pleasure of seeing Read or Die: The TV, though.
Welcome back! Well, this certainly ups the suspense, although after this break I wish something had happened. Hang on, why is this file in her pocket? Surely it would be on the system. Wasn't expecting it to be physical. Actually, I'd expect that the three remaining mods gather around in a group huddle and have Ada slowly, slowly open the file... but this way works too.
