The battle keeps on roaring as Weir kicks out a blast of blue spheres that receive an increase in strength thanks to the rain. Spike takes the hit and then retaliates with a… Shadow Claw? Buddy, you realize you ain’t got no claws, right? Oh, but she improvises: with a surge of effort she rakes one of her little seedy tentacle things across Weir’s face. Since his typing is favourable, he resists the blow.
Spike: <-12 HP; -5 EP>
Weir: <-3 HP; -6 EP>
Emboldened by how well that previous action went, Weir takes a step forward to continue the assault… but goes rigid. Spike sees the window of opportunity and smashes the werefox thing in the head with enough strength to break rocks. His defensive prowess takes a dip.
Spike: <-2 EP>
Weir: <-5 HP; -1 Def; Can’t move!>
Spike pulls her tentacles close to her body and begins rolling around the rain-soaked field with impressive agility. Mud sloshes around every which way as she clobbers Weir’s legs, knocking them out from under him and giving him a quick trip to the ground below. Hissing, he Focus Blasts the spiked bowling ball with one deft motion. Yowch.
This match-up is looking awfully one-sided.

Spike's momentum builds and builds as he rips through the muddy garden toward Weir. Just as the Zoroark pulls himself up onto his two feet he's sent careening to the ground yet again. As if that's not aggravating enough, Paralysis sets in and renders the werefox completely and totally immobile. Joy.
Spike: <-3 EP>
Weir: <-6 HP; Can't move!>
Yet another rolling tackle flattens Weir to the ground, smushing his face in the mud. Could this get any more humiliating? However, with whip-like reflexes, Weir reaches out and snatches one of Weir's tendrils in his long claws. He then tosses the thing like a shot put toward the bridge where it collides with a massive crash. Yowch, super effective damage. Miraculously, Spike is still spinning, though. Always spinning.
Spike: <-23 HP; -5 EP>
Weir: <-10 HP; -8 EP; -1 HP Iron Barbs>
Though the Rollouts are increasing in momentum, Weir feels confident that he has a solid read on his opponent's strategy. When Spike comes in for one final devastating Rollout, the Zoroark is ready: the hit lands hard on the Dark-type's gut, but one final toss ends things. Spike collides yet again with the bridge but this time the rolling has stopped. As has the round. And the match-up.

The battle continues. As Spike and Weir are recalled by their trainers, Ayeun and Grey procure new Pokeballs that they whip into battle. A winged dinosaur and a bladed warrior emerge, exchanging fierce cries and battle-ready grunts which make it clear that, yes, shit's gonna go down. The speedier of the two, Perseus begins doing vigorous pirouettes in the rain, upping his offensive prowess. However, he suddenly spins right into a cloud of sweet-smelling vapour. A crooked smile comes over his face. Uh-oh.
Banana Plantation: <-4 EP>
Perseus: <-4 EP; +2 Att>
Perseus's head seems awfully light all of a sudden and he can't seem to concentrate on what he was doing. Instead of continuing his efforts, he slouches over and sighs dreamily... up until the point when an Air Slash smacks him in the face with STABy goodness. Yup, that snaps him out of it alright.
Banana Plantation: <-6 EP>
Perseus: <-14 HP; Can't move!>
Because the garden is so well-ventilated (on account of how, y'know, it's a garden), the Sweet Scent is already starting to dissipate and Perseus's alertness is returning. The Gallade's fist blossoms with light blue energy that he brings to bear on Banana Plantation. The dinosaur roars before responding with a super effective attack of his own, but the Aerial Ace doesn't have the same kind of impact.

Since the Gym Leader has been consistently steamrollered the entire match, all eyes are on Banana Plantation as he ekes into the lead. The Tropius tries to slam Perseus with one of his big, ferny leaves, but can't seem to get the technique down. Wing Attack... Wing Attack... how does that one work again? Perseus smirks and responds with an attack he can legally use. However, the rain puts a damper on the Gallade's Will-O-Wisp, causing the tiny flame to gutter out before it can reach its target.
Nonetheless, Mist starts to spill into the field.
Banana Plantation: <...>
Perseus: <-4 EP>
Shaking off his little oversight, Banana Plantation uses his wings to do something they can do: Fly! He shoots off into the sky just as Perseus tries to attack him with a barrage of heavy rocks. Banana Plantation darts left, dekes right and successfully evades the onslaught.
Banana Plantation: <-4 EP>
Perseus: <-4 EP>
Perseus frowns. Though Banana Plantation is no longer dodging his attacks, he's still out of the range of melee strikes. Rather than foolishly trying to hit his opponent, Perseus holds his ground and regains lost energy. Banana Plantation, meanwhile, focuses on Synthesizing sunlight into energy. However, since there's precious little sunlight to Synthesize, the attempt doesn't accomplish as much as it could have.

After a weird little round during which no damage was done, Banana Plantation decides it's finally time to go on the offensive as he swoops down to deal a little damage. ‡ Round 17 ‡
It's now time to kick off what might very well be the final round of the battle... and, going on history alone, it probably will be. The Gym Leader summons a tree-bearing tortoise into battle while the challenger brings his poisonous fighting frog into play (and I can guarantee this time she's no Zoroark). The match begins as Session puts her poisonous disposition to good use by spewing a steaming glob of Toxic gunk all over poor Frosty. The thick stuff osmoses through her hard shell and into her system. Eep. Rather than fretting, Frosty keeps her eyes on the prize and starts glowing as her body becomes covered with Rock Polish. (Not that she is a rock, but hey, whatevs.)
Frosty: <-4 EP; Txc; +2 Spd>
Session: <-4 EP>
Rockin' a speed advantage (lol pun), Frosty slams one of her heavy legs against the ground and causes the garden to shake about wildly. Session tries to Bounce out of harm's way, but she's simply not fast enough and is promptly tossed into a patch of mud.... because there's really not much left in this garden besides mud. She pulls herself up and sprints toward Frosty. She does a running handstand against Frosty's shell and, as her fist connects with the Torterra, she releases an icy wave of energy that surges through her body. Session then uses the momentum of the handstand to vault herself into the sky.
And, oh, what luck: ice crystals amass over Frosty's body, Freezing her from head to toe.
Frosty: <-16 HP; -8 EP; Frz>
Session: <-17 HP; -6 EP>
While Frosty (aka. the most fearsome ice sculpture ever) stands there rather uselessly, Session continues zooming upward... and then, after reaching the Bounce's peak, she begins her descent back to the ground. Whee!
Frosty: <...>
Session: <...>
Frosty's belly burns <-3 HP>. Alas, if only that burn were enough to thaw her out! Session, meanwhile, notices that her skin is getting moisturized by all this rain <+3 HP>

The next round begins as Frosty scores a spot of good luck: she thaws out! Huzzah! As the ice melts away to water, the massive Torterra closes her eyes and takes a cat-nap. The Toxin dissipates... and then is promptly brought back as Session strikes again with another Toxic attack. Is this froggy's trainer Psychic? How could he have anticipated that he'd need to do that? Creepy!
Frosty: <+19 HP; -30 EP; Slp; Txc no more; Txc>
Session: <-4 EP>
Frosty begins babbling in her Sleep and then pulls her extremities into her shell in a bid to raise her Defence. As fortified as she is, she's not at all prepared for Session's Venoshock... which, for various reasons, does a bucketload of damage. Eek. Poison froggies are srs bsnss.
Frosty: <-22 HP; -2 EP; +1 Def>
Session: <-11 EP>
Once more, it's Sleep Talk time! Frosty babbles like a fool which causes her to slam her heavy legs against the ground. Shock waves fire out at Session and then Toxicroak is thrown to the ground as though Bulldozed. The froggy gets back up and then clobbers Frosty in the face with an Ice Punch, which does a heap of damage. I think I smell a clean sweep in the works?
Frosty: <-15 HP; -4 EP>

With basically every single one of Ayeun's plant washed away at this point thanks to the ceaseless rain, what was once the Secret Garden has become the Secret Muddy Hell Field. Continuing to Talk in her Sleep, Frosty suddenly becomes coated with a rocky exterior as she charges head-first into Session. The poisonous frog takes the hit to the gut, falls to the ground and then uses her super froggy powers to bring Poisonous pain to Frosty. I'm not entirely sure how Venoshock works, but yeah, it works. Ouch.
Frosty: <-22 HP; -8 EP>
Session: <-10 HP; -11 EP>
Still power napping, Frosty goes for yet another Sleep Talk which once more causes her to charge toward Session. This tackle, however, is decidedly less rocky in nature and significantly more reckless. The Double-Edge collides with Session, throwing her to the ground painfully... but it unfortunately results in Frosty taking a bit of damage as well. Session then Venoshocks again. This amphibian has no sense of mercy.
A green corona surrounds Frosty. Is it too late? (Probably.)
Frosty: <-22 HP; -3 HP recoil; -10 EP; Overgrow>
Session: <-12 HP; -11 EP>
And with that, Frosty wakes! Huzzah! There was much rejoicing. The turtle slams his foot against the ground and causes powerful shock waves to seismically throw Session to the ground yet again. That's got to be getting old, I imagine. Constantly standing up... constantly falling... Nonetheless, Session's spirits aren't broken and with one more Venoshock, she finishes the match. Frosty's blood boils until she can take it no more: at last, her legs give out and she hits the ground with a thud. Session crosses her arms smugly. Not so much fun, is it?!
And that's the battle.
Frosty: <-13 HP; -8 EP>
Session: <-17 HP; -11 EP>
‡ Post-Round ‡
Battle over. In addition to Ayeun's badge/TM, Grey gets ten points. Ayeun gets five. I also get ten. Anyway, it's been fun! I had a blast!
*vanishes in a puff of dominos*
Definitely a fun battle, Aye. You fought well, but I was honestly quite surprised you never brought out Celebi.
Notwithstanding, I'm going to hand over Session to learn Grasswhistle. :3
-Grey
As was I. D: I was thinking Celebi was a lock once Session came out.
Also, random observation about your arena: though Frosty's weakness to Poison did her in at the end, I noticed that for most of the battle Ice moves proved to be your biggest bane. Your team is perhaps more vulnerable to Ice than Fire given the fact that your Pokemon aren't equipped to thaw themselves out in the event of being Frozen (as most of them only get Sunny Day as a Fire-type move, which isn't usable here). I'm wondering if there's a way to tweak your arena to help you overcome this weakness? Perhaps you could implement something similar to the fire-suppression system except make it more of a "greenhouse system" that kicks in and keeps the field too warm for Ice moves to work to their full potential?
Idk. Just a thought.
I like it... But I didn't want to make the arena way to biased to the grass types. I figured nullifying one type of damage was the go, but I may have to look in to that...
Anyways. Good battle!
