    Round Twenty-Six

Metagross flexes its arms. It has no muscles to flex, so it looks like an action man posing for a bodybuilding photo-shoot, but it's the thought that counts. The super computer pokemon rushes at Amelia, who just appears to be standing there watching. The Steel type stops short of Amelia, lifts up both its front arms and sends them crashing down onto Amelia. The Tyranitar grits her teeth under the force of the attack, but grabs both of her attacks arms, and throws them up and over, flipping Metagross head over tit and sending her almost crashing to the floor. If not for the magnet rise, there would have been an upside-down face plant, but the force was all the same.

    Amelia HP(-12) PP(-6) ~ Spd-1
    Metagross HP(-18) PP(-8)

Making a noise that some could interpret as grunting (others would say more like a car changing gear) Metagross drags its arms back and throws them forward, delivering another one two solid punch into the gut of Amelia. Agin the Tyranitar growls from the pain, but grabs the arms, pushes them apart and drives herself forward to slam a powerful counter-measured head-butt into Metagross' face.

    Amelia HP(-12) PP(-6) ~ Spd-1
    Metagross HP(-18) PP(-8)

For the love of god, Metagross is going at it a third time. Amelia holds no bars as she catches the psychic pokemon's double uppercut under the chin. Channelling the energy of the throw into a... holy shit into a back-flip(!) Amelia flips kick and tail whips Metagross on the underside of its body. It's enough to cause a serious sting!

Hammer Arm lowers the Speed of the attacker, not the target.

Let's get nasty. Snarl until it falls! Protect on any damage-dealing combo.

    Round Twenty-Seven

Amelia and Metagross are at a standoff. A guttural growl forms in Amelia's throat, whilst Metagross starts to glow red. Amelia lets out a brain melting snarl but it is drowned out as Metagross goes from red, to white to not there in a matter of seconds. A thundering explosion rocks the arena, the audience is contained and protected by automated force-fields (how else would you explain how they never ever get hurt?) and when the dust clears the sandstorm has stopped too. Amelia and Metagross both lie on the ground, one knocked out by self detonation, the other by the sheer impact force of the explosion.

    Round Twenty-Eight

Both down to their final pokemon, Oslo and Ayeun look forward to this battle being over at last. Boom and Lady Fisticuffs remain, their team mates having left the previous round in tandem, leaving this final face off to be started on even footing. Boom moves first, sending fast and blinding flash of fire and heat out, her body releasing an outpour of intense temperature that hits everything nearby. Fisticuffs barely manages to create a shield in time, a panel of sort constructed of pure golden light that absorbs some of the attack, dampening the full strength as it passes through.

    Lady F HP(-8) PP(-6) ~ Light Screen
    Boom HP(-0) PP(-12) ~ S.Atk-2

Having lost some of her fire strength, Boom turns to a more direct approach, letting loose a jet of concentrated flames, that seem to completely engulf Lady F. But the Machamp sits pretty just behind a shield that once again takes the bite out of the attack. The mighty fighter slams all four fists into the ground, sending a rolling wave through the arena, that knocks Boom off her feet.

    Lady F HP(-4) PP(-8)
    Boom HP(-11) PP(-8)

Boom gets up and retaliates with another fire attack, this time shaping the exuded flame into a five pronged star, that blasts its way across the arena. Lady F. sends another wave rumbling through the ground, and as Boom once again rides it out and hits the dirt, the light screen absorbs some of the flame leaving Fisticuffs singed as opposed to burnt.

    Lady F HP(-5) PP(-8)
    Boom HP(-11) PP(-10)

I'm just a little hung up on the fact that I had a 31 HP lead which was wiped out by a banned move. I don't think it should be Ayeun's choice whether we backtrack or not. She stands to benefit immensely from this error if we ignore it and move on.

I realize reffing mistakes happen all the time (lol, to Oslo more than anyone, prolly!), so it's not like I give a hoot whether the mistake happened. I just feel these mistakes should be corrected when they're pointed out. That's all.

I've been pretty patient with how slow this battle has been, so I don't think all of us having to wait just a little bit longer is a big deal? It's not like we have to backtrack very far.

    Round Twenty-Seven [Reloaded]

In a blur of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, we find ourselves back two rounds, waiting for Amelia and Metagross to make their moves.

Amelia and Metagross are at a standoff. Again. A guttural growl forms in Amelia's throat, whilst Metagross surrounds itself in a dark energy. Metagross suddenly moves at speeds previously unthought of and slams into Amelia with such a force that it drives the dark type into the ground. A trench is ripped through the arena, sending the ground everywhere from the epicentre of the disturbance, whilst also half burying Amelia in dirt. The Tyranitar lets out a powerful and vicious snarl that radiates through every inorganic fibre of Metagross' body. The Snarl vibrates deep within Metagross' psyche and causes the computer pokemon to faint under the strain. The steel type collapses into a heap, but not before witnessing Amelia spit out a mouth of grit and rock.

    Round Twenty-Eight [Reloaded]

Boom steps into the arena, and a feeling of deja-vu sweeps over everyone. Haven't we seen a Magmar already? No, apparently not. Boom rushes at Amelia, stopping just short of the powerful rock pokemon, and swings a leg out under her form, sweeping the Tyranitar's legs form out underneath her. Amelia topples to the ground, but in doing so reaches out and pulls Boom down with her. Boom hits the ground with a louder thud that Amelia, and ends up eating dirt the same as her opponent does. Amelia coughs, and suddenly becomes aware of great heat coming from her hand where she grabbed Boom. No flames in this sandstorm, but scales glowing like hot coals in a fire pit are the tell tale signs of a burn, the result of grabbing a flame body pokemon.

    Amelia HP(-7) PP(-6) ~ Spd-1 ~ Burnt
    Boom HP(-10) PP(-3) ~ HP(-2)

Boom lifts herself up quickly, whilst Amelia, weakened and downsized by the attack struggles to do so. Boom sneers, and delivers a powerful open handed punch that could shatter a stone brick. The blow glances off the top of a protective shield, erected in the last moment by Amelia, protecting herself at the cost of a chunk of her energy. Boom grumbles, as she steps back and away from Amelia, completely aware that the longer the dark type is awake, the longer she must endure the raging sandstorm.

    Amelia HP(-0) PP(-8)
    Boom HP(-0) PP(-5) ~ HP(-2)

Close to the brink, Amelia faces her foe. Boom throws a quick punch, a gut shot that strikes with such intensity that it leaves cracks and rivets in Amelia's shell, but the rock pokemon barely clings on to life. Boom steps away and into the storm in anger, leaving Amelia to try and focus through near defeat. She can just make out the shape of her foe through blurred vision and strts to spark electricity. As she charges her attack, the burn on her hand flares up and the pain rips through her concentration. A slither of electricity shoots out as Amelia falls, catching Boom enough to cause slight muscular paralysis, but it's all too much for Amelia, and she collapses under the stress. As she hits the ground, the whirling sands stop and fall to the ground, lifting the chaotic weather system at last.

    Round Twenty-Nine

Lady Fisticuffs enters the arena, and we are finally down to our last two pokemon, and this match that is over a year old may finally come to a close. The good lady throws all four fists at the ground, sending a wave of energy out through the earth. A fraction of a second slower than her foe, Boom reaches out with her mind and throws a psychic blast at the fighting pokemon, but it is a little too late to prevent the attack forming beneath her feet. The burst hits Fisticuffs and knocks her to the ground, whilst the rumbling ground causes Boom to stumble and trip, hitting the floor also.

    Lady F. HP(-11) PP(-8)
    Boom HP(-11) PP(-8)

Both pokemon lift themselves out of the dirt, but Fisticuffs reaches into the dirt as she does so, plucking two sharp edged rocks out of the ground. Boom sees this and again throws a burst of psychic energy out at her foe, but the stones are already in the air. One rock cuts wide, missing the Magmortar, but the other one slams into her shoulder and throws her into a spin.

    Lady F. HP(-11) PP(-8)
    Boom HP(-11) PP(-8)

Boom growls and lets out yet another psychic burst, but Fisticuffs has already hit the dirt. Literally. The psychic knows the Machamp off her feet, and the Earthquake throws Boom to her knees.

    Round Thirty

Sensing that the outcome of this battle does not lean in her favour, Boom turns to boosting her own defences. She briefly turns an eye to Lady Fisticuffs who appears to be doing nothing more than focusing on something in the distance. Ignoring it, she turns her own energy inward, bringing heat and light to the surface of her body to create a dense barrier, designed to absorb inertia and reduce the damage taken from physical attacks. And just in time too, as Fisticuffs appears out of nowhere, having leant all her focus into one precise punch, the slams into Boom's gut knocking the wind clean out of the fire type. But all is not lost, as Lady F recoils in pain, her own fist now as red raw as Boom's body.

    Lady F. HP(-0) PP(-15) ~ Burnt
    Boom HP(-19) PP(-8) ~ Def+2

Lady F sticks her hand onto the ground to pull out a clump of mud, but it's hard grit irritates her burn. She grinds her teeth and forces herself to overcome the burn, pouring her guts and determination into her battle plan. She tosses a load of mud and grit at Boom, who is already running at her target. The mud, thrown by the burnt hand, barely makes a dent on Boom's barrier resulting in barely any damage at all. Boom chops her hand down once on Lady F's left shoulder, then again on the right shoulder. Boom brushes a hand across her face, a little bit of grit has stuck to the barrier somehow, obscuring her vision slightly.

    Lady F. HP(-6) PP(-1)
    Boom HP(-4) PP(-2) ~ Acc-1

Lady F turns her focus to a more spiritual attack than previous her attempt she focuses not on an attack of a physical nature, but on channelling her powers into a ball of pure chi energy. Boom does the same, sending a psychic burst out at Fisticuffs the same time she throws her ball of chi. The two pass through each other as they are opposing forces. The ball of chi passes through the barrier as though it were nothing, knocking Boom to the ground. The psychic blast does the same, throwing Lady F into a spin, spiralling through the air.

Time to put your Guts to good use. Earthquake, Rock Slide, Earthquake. Damage cap should keep us afloat no matter what.

Mm, forgot about Guts. Which is funny, considering I was working on my Ability calcs today. Let me just correct that.

EDIT: Done, minor different in damage for the Mud Slap

    Round Thirty-One

Fisticuffs lets out her rage and slams the ground, causing the floor to ripple and rupture and knocks Boom off her feet. But the Magmortar isn't going doing without making her opponent suffer. Boom imbues a psychic blast with the power and intensity of a burning fire, sending a five pronged blast of pure burning psychic energy at Lady F. The Machamp is overwhelmed and completely enveloped by the fire, which despite her best efforts to extinguish she can do nothing against the psychic force holding the flames in place. From within the flames a golden glow becomes brighter, and Boom suddenly appears in Fisticuff's face, a storm of chaotic energy wrapped around her body, and with the impact force of a giga bomb, Boom body slams her powerful opponent, giving her the biggest bitch slap you will ever see.

    Lady F. HP(-40) PP(-8) ~ Capped
    Boom HP(-10) PP(-33)

With no more energy left in her, Boom rocks back and takes a seat on the floor. She is spent, and incapable of doing anything to evade her opponents attacks now. Lady F struggles to her feet. She is on the verge of collapse now too, but manages to grab a handful of rocks from the ground and toss them at Boom. They hit in a flurry like a mountainous rock slide, the impacts enough to finally push Boom over the edge into unconsciousness. Standing as the victor, barely hanging on to her own health, Lady Fisticuffs raises all four arms to celebrate as Boom is respectfully recalled.

    Lady F. HP(-0) PP(-5)
    Boom HP(-5) PP(-0) ~ KO'd

Ayeun is awarded 6 points for losing
Oslo is awarded 12 points for winning

Funny, we started this battle one month before my Master's program and now we're finishing it four months after I completed my degree. THIS BATTLE TOOK LONGER THAN MY ENTIRE M.A., GUYS. HOLY COW.

Thanks for reffing, RL, and it was a pleasure battling you again, Aye!
