As Octillery holds you under the water, you decide not to turn it into sashimi. Instead, you go limp. Your chest starts to grow tight and your vision grows a little spotty, but Octillery soon loses interest in you. It lets go, giving you an opening to swim back up to the surface. Ahh, sweet oxygen. Hello, old friend.

You start madly swimming away, at which point Octillery regains interest in you. Fortunately, Vigilance/Elegance swoops in with Darwin/Cobalion on their back and plucks you out of the water. Hooray! Octillery starts shooting Octazookas at you, but your Pidgeot deftly evades them.

Meanwhile, the Legend hunters continue their assault. They've definitely noticed you but they seem too preoccupied for a greeting.



"I have the map!" the man says, still dangling from ropes down the side of the cliff.

"Does it say anything about defeating Octillery?" the woman asks.

"Yes, it does. There's something here in the margin about how to do that... but it's written in one of the ancient languages, and I'm having trouble deciphering it," the man replies.

"Blaziken!" the woman calls, growing impatient. "Leap onto its head and begin using Crush Claw!"

Blaziken descends from the cliffs and lands deftly on top of Octillery. The fiery rooster starts raking his claws across Octillery. It seems to have no effect.

"Something seems amiss about that Octillery," Elegance says. "Its appearance coupled with its invulnerability makes me suspect it is not a real Pokemon, but rather some kind of artificial creation of water magic."

Artificial creation or not, its Octazookas are still firing chaotically through the air.

"He's right," the woman declares. "Blaziken, hop back up here and use Strength on one of the boulders!"

Blaziken leaps back onto the side of the cliff and grabs onto the craggy surface with one hand. With its free hand, it wrenches a boulder free and whips it at Octillery's face. It plugs the mouth. Octillery flails around, clearly trying to launch more Octazookas. Octillery starts to swell as its internal pressure builds, until it becomes too much. Octillery explodes in a mess of water and ink. Vigilance/Elegance Protects you. When the water clears, the big blue monster is gone.

"Thanks for your help!" the woman says. "You really saved our hides."

"What brings you to these parts?" the man asks.

As you head toward the entrance of Manaphy's cave, Charlotte and Charles recall their Pokemon and rappel into the water. The entrance to the cave leads into a tunnel, which is fed by the ocean, though there's just enough space between the water and ceiling for you to fly down it on the back of your Pidgeot. You do just that as Charlotte and Charles swim behind you. Eventually, you reach the tunnel's end. There's a patch of dry rock here which you touch down upon. Charlotte and Charles climb out of the water.

"I hate being wet," Charles grumbles as he and his sister send Blaziken and Camerupt back out.

Looking around the cave, you see four paintings tacked against the rock wall above a door.
