If the challenging trainer loses against the Gym Leader, he/she can't battle that Gym Leader for his gym again, but he/she can challenge another Gym Leader for his/her gym after a two week waiting period.

I would also like to ask that everyone edits in his or her new info. Furthermore, dates for roster- and TM-changes will be revealed later. I'll update this thread more, once I got my stuff.

My Current ruling for Earthquake is any Pokemon who can't evolve any further can use it (ie Fully evolved pokemon and those who don't evolve at all)

Furthermore I'd like Grey and CEB to make their TM-requirements stricter. Fully evolved pokemon alone is too wide.

Alright, I've updated Judgment's requirements so that only third-stage pokémon (as well as legendaries) can use it. So Blastoise, Charizard, Gengar, etc., but not Umbreon or Snorlax.

You forgetting the fact that Earthquake is still a move learned by random pokemon, and if I also take Grey's idea of only third stage pokemon we still run into that problem of Pokemon like Jumpluff being able to learn it.

Okay, so I've been hearing a lot of talk lately about how Gym matches don't have banned moves/damage caps and I was wondering why I wasn't aware of these rules. Then, I realized why:

If and when a Gym Leader accepts the challenge, they reserve the right to change or set the rules for the match as they see fit. This includes any Banned Moves, Damage Caps, DQ time or pokemon used. If a Gym Leader and combatant cannot agree on certain rules, then the Gym Leader can refuse to battle.

That's from the OP. Can someone change that so poor Oslo doesn't keep getting confused?

DL wrote the OP for the Ascended Tower. My arena (and others) have restricted moves set in place dependant on Arena, and DL knows this. Methinks DL is just forgetting some things. I go with the OP.

Perhaps DL changed the rule in his head but forgot to make the change in the actual post? He's mentioned that Gym matches can't have banned moves/damage caps several times lately in various topics... namely DCM's Gym battle with Weasel Overlord, my Gym battle with Ayeun and Papabopp's Gym battle with DL himself. Probably not just a matter of him just getting the rules confused again and again, right?

Well look at my arena. DL and I spent.... an hour going over the first draft to get it ready as a Gym Match and he never told me once that it couldn't have banned moves. Though he did tell me it couldn't have a Damage Cap at all.

I think there's perhaps a difference between the banned moves agreed upon at the beginning of a match and moves that are restricted based on an arena's unique make-up?

Well, Gym-matches DON'T have Damage-caps. No way, that's a certain.

As for banned moves, well the gymleader is boss and he decides everything. If he wants to ban moves he can IMO. Most gymleaders play without banned moves, though, with exceptions being arena-banned-moves.

And yes, you're right about hearing that Gymbattles don't have banned moves. They don't, but it's not that they can't. So the OP still makes sense to me.

I definitely like the idea that Gym Leaders can ban moves. Still unsure why Weasel Overlord, after banning moves at the beginning of a battle, was told partway through by DL that you can't ban moves in a Gym match, though.

The Gym Leaders of old never banned moves.
Nowadays, its moreso as part of the arena. If-as Mew pointed out-You create an arena that depends on certain factors not existing (like DF with his and Equake being moot, Or Ayeun's sprinkler system, or Mew's ridonkulous Smashy Dragon fetish fest..), then that's how you can "ban" moves. Its not just a outlandish BAN, there's a reason why the moves won't be effective there. Somethings though can be vetoed by the Mod Squad. Like just outright banning fire in a grass arena. No-if someone comes in with a Magcargo, theat's crap >>. So Ay made that sprinkler system, which was (and still is) one of the best things I've seen to combat a weakness to date.

If your arena is simply open (like Weezy's) and there are no banned moves stated in the Arena's description-then you cannot ban moves in the start of a match .

There are no DC's though-that's baseline. That's why I wanted Vega's damage upped, so I could pull a comeback XD. Anyway, Thanks Muggles and Mew for answering ahead of me . Sorry for the confusion again. But Oslo's right. I knew this in my head, but I never realized it wasn't up on "paper", so to speak.
