    Yay! Congrats, DaBlackBandit!

    Name: Tucker
    Type: Ice

Entering Route 3, I avoided as many of the trainers as I could becuase I don't want Wannabe to grow too powerful just yet. Several of them couldn't be avoided; I ended up battling 4 of the 8 trainers hanging around Route 3. Wannabe tried twice to evolve, but as I said, I don't want him too powerful yet, so I cancelled evolution.
When I reached the grass of the route, I started searching for my next catch. This route only had one species that I didn't already have: Jigglypuff. I lucked out here: I found one fairly early, and a single Bubble brought it down to a fifth of its life before it could Sing Wannabe to sleep. It broke out of the first Pokéball, but the second held. I nicknamed it Headlights becuase it's going to be my Flash HMer. Then I ducked into Mt. Moon and hung around the entrance to catch Zubat and Geodude.
I caught Zubat, then encountered Geodude but accidentally fainted it (Critical Hit at the wrong time...I'm sure we all know how that feels...) I turned around and bumped into a Clefairy! Sadly, though, I was down to one ball at that point and it broke out, leaving me with no choice but to KO it. Stupid game, teasing me like that...
I headed back to Pewter for more Pokéballs (I'd been planning to after I caught Geodude anyway...) I came back to Mt. Moon and proceeded on through. I avoided all of the trainers on the ground floor and both small basement rooms, and picked up almost all of the items (I couldn't get the hidden Ether in the second small room because the Rocket there was blocking the way.) I caught a Geodude and a Paras, and then I picked up the Moon Stone at the end of the ground floor and immediately used it on Headlights.
In the open area of the basement, I continued avoiding Rockets until I reached the last Rocket, the one just before the Super Nerd with the fossils. He was unavoidable. After I beat him, I went to pick up the hidden Moon Stone—and to my utter surprise and amusement, I met a second Clefairy right there in that small passage! I successfully caught it, then took two steps, picked up the Moon Stone and evolved Clefairy.
I beat the Super Nerd, Wannabe reached level 19, and this time I decided to let him evolve. I took the Helix Fossil just because it was the one right in front of me, exited Mt. Moon and headed for Cerulean City. I stopped in the grass of Route 4 to catch a Sandshrew, then went to the Cerulean Pokémon Center and deposited everybody who wasn't a party member.

you'll be able to use Strength on Wigglytuff too, and Teleport (So, you don't have to use Escape Ropes), probably the most useful HM slave, next to Kingler and Slowbro. I can't wait to see your first Ice Type

Actually, I've got a different HMer in mind for Strength (I was planning on depositing Headlights after the Rock Tunnel), but your point about Teleport is a good one. In that case I'll hold on to Headlights until I get Fly, which is better than Teleport with the one exception that it can't put me at the Pokémon Centers near Mt. Moon or the Rock Tunnel. (Teleport doesn't replace Escape Ropes because Escape Ropes are only usable in caves and some buildings, and Teleport is only usable in the outdoors. Dig replaces Escape Ropes.)

In Cerulean City, I picked up the hidden Rare Candy in the northwest corner and then deposited it along with the one I'd found in Mt. Moon. I have plans for those Rare Candies later. Then, after buying more supplies, I challenged Owen by Nugget Bridge. His first three pokémon went down fairly easily, but Wartortle vs. Bulbasaur was not fun, especially with Leech Seed sucking away at me. This was not a good battle to have only one battler for. Water Gun was useless, and Bulbasaur was still quite fond of Growling. Then there was the amount of damage Vine Whip could do, and the fact that Super Potions aren't available yet didn't help either...I ended up retrying that battle, and I won the second time only because Owen handled it like a complete fool. Man, I can't wait until I get Ice attacks to pulverize that stupid weed...
I battled my way across Nugget Bridge and then searched the grass of Route 24 for Bellsprout. Despite the pounding I had just taken from a Grass-type, I knew I could count on wild low-level Bellsprout to be far wimpier. In their own way, though, they still managed to give me trouble...I ended up fainting three of them from critical hits before I finally got one into a Pokéball. I also saw an Abra while I was there, but a Wartortle doesn't have any way to stop Abra from Teleporting away and I wasn't allowed to use a pokémon with Wrap, Sing or Sleep Powder, so no Abra for me.
I passed through Route 25, avoiding as many trainers as possible (I battled 4 out of 9 this time.) Avoiding trainers actually serves two purposes; it keeps Wannabe weak enough that he can help catch wild pokémon instead of destroying them, and it leaves me with some easy opponents to start with when I finally get some Ice-types to train. I picked up the SS Ticket and then took the shortcut back to Cerulean.
In Cerulean City, the policeman had moved from the door of the robbed house, so I went through and got the Dig TM. In RBY, Dig has a power rating of 100, unlike in other games where it was dumbed down. I taught Dig to Wannabe and then entered Cerulean Gym.
Now, I am a firm believer in always battling everyone. The trainers I'm skipping now, I will battle later with Ice-types. But once I beat Misty, her two Gym trainers won't battle me. I had a brief war with myself over whether to skip them, and finally decided to go ahead and skip them. The decision was made easier by the realization that I could only skip one of them anyway.
Wannabe's Dig, my secret weapon, gave me an edge against Misty's Water-types. The Cascade Badge was an easy win.

Before heading down to Route 5, I dug through Bill's PC and put NidoranM into my party. I delivered him to the Day Care Man, and then searched the nearby grass for Meowth. After finding and catching one, I passed through the Underground Path and Route 6, avoiding every trainer except the last two that were right near Vermilion City.
The first thing I did in Vermilion City was pick up the Old Rod and try to catch a Magikarp. Sadly, I was already so strong that a single non-crit Bubble consistently fainted them. I mourned the opportunity I'd forgotten about to buy one in Route 3, then deposited the Old Rod and brought my Spearow to the midtown house where I traded it for Dux the Farfetch'd.
I ducked into Diglett's cave, hoped for a miracle and got one; I found a Diglett that could survive a single Bubble. In fact, the attack brought its HP down to a level where I caught it easily. Then I went to Route 11, did some searching, found and caught a Drowzee. I headed back to town, deposited the dead weight, then got the Bike Voucher and headed back to Cerulean.
In Cerulean, I redeemed the voucher for a Bicycle, then stopped into the Pokémon Center and withdrew Metapod and a Rare Candy. On my way back south, I paid a visit to the Day Care and learned that Nidoran (who was initially level 4) had grown 8 levels. Not quite enough...looking for an excuse to accumulate steps, I went back to the Underground Path and searched every inch of it, finding a Full Restore and an X Special. When I returned to the Day Care, Nidoran had grown two more levels, close enough that I just biked up and down the Route a few times until Nidoran had reached level 15. I used the Rare Candy on it, and without any training, Nidoran evolved into Nidorino! Then I gave Metapod to the Day Care Man.
I returned to Vermilion and worked my way through Route 11. I passed by most of the trainers, battled the Gambler that was blocking the way to the guardhouse, then visited the second floor and traded Nidorino for a Nidorina named Terry. I waved hi to the Aide in the room, then went back to Vermilion, deposited Terry, withdrew my other Rare Candy, biked back to the Day Care and got myself a Butterfree.
My Pokédex was now at 28 Owned. I still needed two more...I considered my options, then returned to Diglett's Cave. I bounced from Diglett to Diglett like a human pinball until I finally found a wild Dugtrio. I weakened it with three Bubble attacks, lowering it to 5% HP, then threw a ball. It broke out...and then fainted Wannabe with a critical-hit Dig.
I stood there silent for a while, then made a decision. If all of your battlers faint, it's usually okay to send out an HMer and just let it sit there while you use Revives on your battlers. Crazy's FR/LG MTC specifically forbids that, but this one doesn't. If that practice is okay, surely sending out an HMer against a wild pokémon and just letting it sit there while you throw Pokéballs is okay too. Right? Right! I sent out Dux, and knowing it wouldn't survive long, went straight for the Great Ball I'd picked up in Route 3. Dugtrio broke out of that too, then fainted Dux with a single Scratch. In went Headlights. I tossed another Pokéball, and Dugtrio broke out, but Dugtrio chose to use Growl next, buying me one more chance. I tossed yet another Pokéball, and this one held. I breathed a huge sigh of relief, then Dug back to Vermilion and healed everyone.
My Pokédex was now at 29 Owned. I flipped through my old copy of the Pokémon™ Official Nintendo® Player's Guide, and confirmed what I'd hoped: there is a Rare Candy on board the S.S. Anne. I withdrew Kakuna, brought it to the Day Care, then grabbed the Rare Candy from the second-floor cabin, returned to the Day Care and got myself a Beedrill.
With my Pokédex finally at 30 species, I triumphantly returned to the Route 11 Guardhouse and got the Itemfinder from the Aide. Since this is already long enough, I'll pause here and report on Vermilion Gym later...

    Team:
    Wannabe L28
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Bubble

I'm amazed you got 30 Pokemon so fast, now what is the ItemFinder for? I'm just thinking of Ice type in R/B/Y.....Jynx, Lapras, Cloyster, Dewgong, Articuno. My guess is your going to drop WannaBe and put a Kingler with Cut, Strength, Surf, filler. You have the coolest stories, we should put them in a Pokemon Newsletter or something.

    Finding items.

    /cricket noises/

Seriously, I just wanted it for the convenience. I can testify that finding the items in the east-west Underground Path was a whole lot easier than finding them in the north-south one. I won't be bothering with the EXP. All because that thing is annoyance incarnate.

Except that Articuno is forbidden because it's legendary. I'm already going to have Shellder and Lapras when I can get Seel, so it might just be redundant, but I think I'm going to get Dewgong anyway.

Why would I switch out Wannabe for a pokémon that can use Cut? Dux can use Cut just fine, and I need to keep it for Fly since I won't be using Articuno.

Thanks. I'm kinda hoping the MTC topics themselves will be around long enough to preserve my adventures. I've been thinking about linking the team banners in my sig to the posts where I finish those MTCs...or should I link them to the posts where I begin them?

When I get the Cut HM, the S.S. Anne will set sail, taking all of its trainers with it. As with Cerulean Gym, I weighed the pros and cons of skipping the trainers here...and this time I came to the realization that I couldn't afford to battle them. Wannabe has grown to a rather high level, and I'll still need him weak enough to catch, not kill, when I finally have the chance to get some Ice-types. I boarded the ship and collected what few items I could without battling anyone, then gritted my teeth and took on Owen once again. Dig made all the difference, allowing me to beat Ivysaur with little fuss.
I got HM 1 from the Captain, taught Cut to Dux, and then watched the ship sail off, carrying all that cash and EXP with it... Then I cut my way to Vermilion Gym, and lucked out with the hidden switches, opening the way to Lt. Surge without having to battle any of the three Gym Trainers. Once again, a battle that probably should have been quite difficult was made easy thanks to Wannabe's Dig, and Lt. Surge awarded me the Thunder Badge.
After that, it was off to Route 2 to get the Flash HM. ("So, TUCKER, have you caught at least 10 kinds of POKéMON?" "Pffff...fu fu fu...") I taught Headlights its first HM, picked up some Route 2 item balls, and then went back into Diglett's Cave and used Dig, which conveniently put me back in Vermilion City and let me get back to Cerulean by way of the Underground Path instead of having to go through Mt. Moon.
Arriving in Cerulean, I cut my way into Route 9 and worked my way east, avoiding what trainers I could and battling the ones I couldn't. This time I got away with only battling two. I also picked up TM 30 and taught Headlights Teleport, just in case.
My first wild pokémon in Rock Tunnel was a Machop, but I didn't care about wild pokémon anymore. I passed through, continuing to avoid trainers when I could, but Rock Tunnel has several unavoidables. I made it through, skipped all of the Route 10 trainers and healed in Lavender Town, then wormed my way through Route 8 battling only one of the trainers there. I passed through the Underground Path (getting both hidden items easily thanks to Itemfinder), hopped across Route 7 and entered Celadon City. Here I ran a few errands, buying a whole bunch of Lemonades, getting TM 13 from the young girl on the roof, grabbing HM2 and teaching Fly to Dux, and then I went to Saffron City, appeased the guard and grabbed TM 29 from Mr. Psychic before finally getting around to entering the Celadon Team Rocket HQ.
I passed through this as quickly as possible. I didn't even pick up any items. I battled all of four guys: the one with the Lift Key, the guards in front of Giovanni's room and then Giovanni himself for the Silph Scope. Then I flew back to Lavender, entered Pokémon Tower, defeated Owen once again, reached and defeated Marowak after only battling two Channelers, and then whipped the Rockets on the top floor.
Despite my extreme care in battling as little as possible throughout all this, Wannabe was trying to evolve again by the time I reached Mr. Fuji and recieved the Poké Flute. Whimpering, I headed south on Route 12, battled two unavoidable Fishers and dodged the rest, woke Snorlax and then ran from it, battled the unavoidable Rocker right near the home of the Fishing Guru's brother, and then got the Super Rod at last.
Now it was time. I flew to Celadon City, bought a few Great Balls, and fished in the pond. It took me over a dozen tries to find anything, which got me worried that maybe the game had glitched due to age and the Super Rod wouldn't ever catch anything, but finally I hooked a Poliwhirl. I was relieved to find that Bubble still did little damage to it. I caught Poliwhirl and let it follow Spearow's footsteps by naming it TradeMeToo.
Then I flew to Vermilion and fished there. On my second try I caught a Shellder and named it Pearl. This is no HMer or bargaining chip; this is my first actual soon-to-be-Ice-type battler!
Finally, I flew to Cerulean and traded TradeMeToo for Lola the Jynx, my first currently-Ice-type battler! And the crowd goes wild! At last, this Ice-type MTC features an Ice-type!

    Team:
    Pearl L15

Okay, that took longer than it should have, but I've decided on some decent moveset choices for my battlers. With those decisions made, I broke out the TMs and taught Pearl Water Gun and Swift, and gave Psychic to Lola. I then battled all of the trainers I'd skipped in Route 3 and Mt. Moon.
I learned something interesting: like the trainers in a Gym, once you clear Mt. Moon any Rockets you've skipped will not approach you. However, you can still battle them if you march up and talk to them!
Now I've got an interesting dilemma. My original plan was to get Pearl up to level 50 before evolving it, so that it could learn Ice Beam naturally. That way, I could use the single TM 13 in the game on Lola, because Ice Beam is better than Ice Punch. Then I realized this would require keeping Pearl a Shellder all the way up to level 50. That's not nice to party power; Pearl's going to fall behind for quite some time. Is keeping Pearl unevolved, and thus weaker, for a very large chunk of the game worth giving Lola 20 more points of base power on her Ice attack? I'm not sure.

    Team:
    Pearl L19
    Swift, Water Gun, Tackle, Withdraw
(I'm thinking Surf and Ice Beam...maybe Swift for its never-miss property and either Tri Attack or Explosion? Not real fond of kamikaze tactics, but the power is undeniable...)

    Lola L23
    Psychic, Pound, Lick, Lovely Kiss
(Ice Beam, Psychic, Lovely Kiss...I'll try Body Slam, but I'll replace it with Seismic Toss if it's too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Wannabe L38
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Bubble
(Retired in style, Wannabe is now an HMer! Will continue Digging and also get Strength.)

    Dux L3
    Peck, Sand-Attack, Cut, Fly
(One of the most famous HMers for its unique combo of HMs 1 and 2.)

    Headlights L3
    Sing, Flash, Teleport, —
(Headlights is going to stay in my party only long enough to battle the skipped trainers in Rock Tunnel.)

    Next: More training!

I've decided to go ahead with my original plan. I taught Ice Beam to Lola, replacing Lick, which is even more useless in RBY than it is elsewhere thanks to having no effect on Psychic-types. I also battled the folks I had skipped in Routes 25, 6 and 11, and Pearl learned Clamp! I had some fun with this move...I'd forgotten that, in RBY, if the first hit of a trapping attack is a critical then so are all of the others.

    Team:
    Pearl L23
    Swift, Clamp, Tackle, Water Gun
(I'm thinking Surf and Ice Beam...maybe Swift for its never-miss property and either Tri Attack or Explosion? Not real fond of kamikaze tactics, but the power is undeniable...)

    Lola L25
Psychic, Ice Beam, Pound, Lovely Kiss
(I'll try Body Slam in place of Pound, but I'll replace it with Seismic Toss if it's too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Wannabe L38
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Bubble
(Retired in style, Wannabe is now an HMer! Will continue Digging and also get Strength.)

Look out world, I'm editing this post 'cause it was really short!
I flew back to Cerulean and then battled the skipped trainers on Route 9 and in Rock Tunnel. Pearl did fairly well despite my earlier worries, which was good since I was using him a lot more often than Lola. Lola has a faster levelling pattern, and on top of that she was traded so she gets bonus EXP, so she levelled noticably faster than Pearl...in fact, she levelled really fast...and partway through Rock Tunnel it hit me that obedience might become a problem. I only had the badges for up to level 30. Lola was level 28 by the time I got out of Rock Tunnel.
Rather than fight the four trainers on Route 10, I immediately flew to Celadon City to take on Erika's Gym. Now, obviously Lola stood a much better chance in this Gym than Pearl did, having both a powerful STAB Ice attack and a powerful STAB Psychic attack, and not being weak against Grass...but remember what I've been saying about battling everyone? And if I battled all of the junior trainers with Lola, she'd become uncontrollable long before I reached Erika. So I used Pearl against all of the Junior Grass Trainers.
Pearl laid any rumors of weakness to rest by doing quite well for himself in that Gym. There were one or two times when I needed to switch in Lola, but nowhere near as often as one would think. Relying mostly on Swift, Pearl fended off Grass-types until he learned Aurora Beam, and after that the victories just got easier. Even Clamp proved useful more than once; sure, it didn't do a lot of damage, but it prevented the opponent from acting while it did that damage...and Pearl was faster than the vast majority of opponents here.
After finishing off the last junior trainer, I switched in Lola, now level 29 (she had levelled up off those one or two times I had to put her in.) Lola completely flattened Erika's team, growing to level 30 two thirds of the way through. I got the Rainbow Badge and Erika's TM, then flew back to Lavender and defeated the trainers in Route 10.
Finally, I stopped in Lavender again and deposited Headlights, my HMer Wigglytuff. I don't plan to visit Rock Tunnel again, so I won't need Flash...and Teleport has exceedingly little over Dux's Fly.

    Team:
    Pearl L31
    Swift, Clamp, Tackle, Aurora Beam
(I'm thinking Surf and Ice Beam...maybe Swift for its never-miss property and either Tri Attack or Explosion? Not real fond of kamikaze tactics, but the power is undeniable...)

Lola L32 (That's right, 2 more levels off the Route 10 trainers!)
Psychic, Ice Beam, Pound, Lovely Kiss
(I'll try Body Slam in place of Pound, but I'll replace it with Seismic Toss if it's too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Dux L3
    Peck, Sand-Attack, Cut, Fly
(One of the most famous HMers for its unique combo of HMs 1 and 2.)

    Wannabe L38
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Bubble
(Retired in style, Wannabe is now an HMer! Will continue Digging and also get Strength.)

From Lavender Town, I headed west and defeated everyone on Route 8. I passed through Saffron City, stopping to buy some Full Heals and Revives, and then continued on to Celadon City, where I went back into the Team Rocket Hideout.
I battled all of the Rockets I had skipped last time, and also picked up all of the items. I ran out of space in my pack and started using the items I had found to make room...most notably, I used the TM 10 I'd found to teach Pearl Double-Edge, which I'll play around with for a while and see if the added power is worth the recoil. I also used a Rare Candy on Wannabe and let him evolve into Blastoise just for the heck of it.
When I'd done what I could, I pulled out of the base, sold some stuff and deposited some other stuff, then withdrew the Lift Key, went back to the base and rode the elevator to the only Rocket left, the one by the elevator on the first basement level.
With that area cleared, I flew to Lavender again, traded the Lift Key for the Silph Scope, and proceeded to clear the rest of Pokémon Tower. Then I headed down Route 12 and battled all of the Fishers between Lavender and the home of the Fishing Guru's brother, thus completing the training against skipped opponents.
Now I paused for a moment to consider my next action. South to Fucshia, and the Surf HM? Or northwest to Saffron and another party member? I decided to get Lapras first so that it wouldn't have quite as far to go to catch up in level with the others. I flew to Saffron City and prepared for a good ol'fashioned assault on Silph Co.
I followed my usual pattern: straight to the fifth floor, grab the Card Key, to the third floor, ride the warp tile to the ninth floor and the healing spot, and then with that route cleared, battle every single Rocket and treacherous employee from the second floor up. When I'd battled all of the regular minions, I left Silph, sold some stuff and deposited some other stuff...then withdrew two TMs from my PC. Then I went back in and rode the third-floor warp tile to the seventh floor and the battle with Owen.
It was a joy to be able to use Lola's Ice Beam on Owen's Venusaur. It perturbed me a bit that Venusaur managed to survive my attack, but considering Owen was healing his team using Potions (not Hyper Potions, or Super Potions...just Potions) it was a non-issue. I can't imagine what he was thinking still carrying those.
After I defeated Owen, the nearby employee gave me a level-15 Lapras. I nicknamed her Nessie, and then gave her the two TMs I'd brought with me: Bubblebeam and Thunderbolt. I put her in front for crash-raising, but the minion guarding the President's office led with a Cubone and I ended up taking it out with just Nessie, even though she was under half his level. I guess I was just feeling cheeky. I was all business, however, when I took on Giovanni and polished off his team with Pearl's Clamp and Lola's Psychic.
The President gave me the Master Ball as thanks, and I set off to train Nessie, my newest party member.

    Team:
    Nessie L15
    Bubblebeam, Thunderbolt, Water Gun, Growl
(Surf, Boltbeam...and for an entertaining filler, Confuse Ray!)

    Pearl L43
    Swift, Clamp, Double-Edge, Aurora Beam
(I'm thinking Surf and Ice Beam...I may keep Swift for its never-miss property. Double-Edge might become something with no recoil; I'm not sure yet.)

    Lola L44
Psychic, Ice Beam, Body Slam, Lovely Kiss
(Body Slam might get replaced with Seismic Toss if it proves too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Dux L3
    Peck, Sand-Attack, Cut, Fly
(One of the most famous HMers for its unique combo of HMs 1 and 2.)

    Wannabe L39
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Bubble
(Retired in style, Wannabe is now an HMer! Will continue Digging and also get Strength.)

    Next: Nessie gets a workout!

Okay, apparently some drooling neanderthal moron with a severe inferiority complex and a complete lack of honor or dignity felt the need to screw up the RBY board, especially the Wild Glitchdom post. Luckily, I had a link to this thread in my sig and thus can still access it, and even though posting has been made impossible i can still edit my own posts.

Still, even though I'm finally ready to post a new chapter in this MTC, I probably shouldn't do it in a modify because that would make this post far too long, so I'm going to hold off until the moderators restore the RBY board to its proper glory so I can make a new post. ...and I think I'll also archive all of my MTC posts in case the utter tool with a negative IQ who attacked this place chooses to soothe his damaged ego by defacing them.

Well, I finally got around to picking this up again. After Clearing Silph Co., I headed back to Route 12 and started beating trainers with Nessie. Even though she had a serious level disadvantage, she handled herself very well (especially thanks to Thunderbolt in an area with lots of Water and Flying trainers), and it didn't take long for that level disadvantage to shrink.
Flying back to Vermilion every so often to rest, I worked my way down Routes 12 and 13 using Nessie the whole way. When I reached the end of Route 13, I starting dodging trainers and zipped to Fucshia City so that I could use that as a healing place instead of going back to Vermilion. Then I went back to the juncture of Routes 13 and 14, and kept training Nessie against the local trainers.
By the time I finally finished off the trainers in Route 15 and went back to Fucshia City, Nessie had grown twenty levels to reach level 35. I decided to take on Koga...after I picked up Nessie's next move, that is. To the Safari Zone I went, grabbing quite nearly all of the items in one round save for the Nugget in the Center Area and the items in the south and east parts of Area 3. I got HM 3, taught Surf to Nessie and Pearl, then brought the Gold Teeth back to the Warden and taught Wannabe Strength. Then I headed over to Koga's Gym.
With Surf and Thunderbolt, and an occasional I-don't-want-to-waste-another-Surf-PP-finishing-you-off Body Slam, Nessie cleared most of the Gym by herself. There was one point where she faitned to a critical-hit Psychic and Lola had to step in, but Nessie thrashed Koga himself alone, learning Ice Beam in the middle of that battle.

    Team:
    Nessie L38
Surf, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Confuse Ray
(BoltBeam FTW! Confuse Ray is filler.)

    Pearl L43
    Swift, Surf, Double-Edge, Aurora Beam
(Aurora Beam to be upgraded to Ice Beam. Swift for its never-miss property. Double-Edge might become something with no recoil; I'm not sure yet.)

    Lola L45
Psychic, Ice Beam, Body Slam, Lovely Kiss
(Body Slam might get replaced with Seismic Toss if it proves too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Dux L3
    Peck, Sand-Attack, Cut, Fly
(One of the most famous HMers for its unique combo of HMs 1 and 2.)

    Wannabe L39
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Strength
(Retired in style, Wannabe is now an HMer!)

Departing Fucshia City, I pedaled up Cycling Road, making liberal use of Itemfinder (I found five top-notch items out there!) and defeating all of the trainers. By the time I reached the second Snorlax, Nessie had caught up to Pearl in level! (*APPLAUSE sign lights up*)
I easily defeated Snorlax...then flew back to Fucshia because I realized I'd forgotten to get the remaining items from the Safari Zone. ¬_¬; I bought a Nugget, Max Potion and Max Revive for 500, then flew to Saffron City and retrieved the Nugget from Copycat's house.
Heading to the northeast part of town, I cleared the Fighting Dojo as a warmup and then battled my way through Saffron Gym. Nessie's Thunderbolt came in handy against the Slowpoke. By the time I reached Sabrina herself, Nessie and Pearl had caught up to Lola. I sent in Lola to battle against Sabrina's team, and she handled herself quite well, earning the Marsh Badge without much fuss.
Pearl was now at level 45, just five levels away from Ice Beam, and I was about to take a trip of uncertain duration, so I hopped across Route 7 to Celadon City and bought a Water Stone. Then I flew to Fucshia and went south.
I defeated all of the trainers between Fucshia and Seafoam, then entered the cavern and pushed boulders until I had reached the island perch of Articuno, Legendary Bird of Ice. A suitable challenge for an Ice-type expert. Nessie was out of Thunderbolts by that point, so I led with Pearl. Swift didn't do much, but neither did Articuno's Peck, so I switched to Double-Edge and got two hits in before Articuno switched to Ice Beam and fainted Pearl with a critical hit.
I wanted Pearl to get XP for this, so I switched to Lola and spent the next turn reviving Pearl. The battle between Lola and Articuno actually paralleled the one with Pearl; I opened with Ice Beam; it didn't do too much, and Articuno also used Ice Beam to little effect. I switched to Psychic and got in a good hit, but Articuno switched back to Peck and Lola didn't have the physical Defense to take it.
I sent Pearl back in. Articuno was faster this time and used Ice Beam, bad news since Pearl was still at half HP. This time it wasn't a critical, though, and Pearl hung on with about a tenth of its life left and hit with Swift to polish off Articuno.
I dug back to Fucshia to heal, then returned to Seafoam and made my way through the caves. Along the way, I focused on raising Pearl so that I could evolve him. Exiting at the other side, I battled the swimmers between Seafoam and Cinnabar Island. By the time I reached Cinnabar, Pearl was level 49, so I went into Pokémon Mansion, cleared the first floor while battling Ponyta, Grimer and Koffing, then went upstairs and battled the first Burglar. That levelled Pearl up to level 50, and he learned Ice Beam. Then I used the Water Stone and evolved Pearl into a Cloyster.

    Team:
    Lola L47
Psychic, Ice Beam, Body Slam, Lovely Kiss
(Body Slam might get replaced with Seismic Toss if it proves too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Nessie L47

    Pearl L50
    Swift, Surf, Double-Edge, Ice Beam

Ok, I changed the title to say 2006, haha only 2 years late with that. Plus when I get some more batteries, I think I'll restart Red and have a go at doing a new Mono team. Been a long while, so should be fun. Not sure what yet, maybe Ground, that'll be good.

I'm going to assume that was directed at me. The only other Ice-types in this game are Articuno, whom I already fainted, and Dewgong, who's just too similar to Lapras and Cloyster to bother. So, no, I'm not planning on getting a sixth party member.

    Name: Tucker
    Type: Ice

Having started in on Pokémon Mansion last time, I finished it this time, grabbing the Secret Key along with a bunch of other goodies. Then I moved on to Blaine's Gym, and as usual completely ignored the quiz machines. Cursed things...you answer their question right and they deprive you of EXP and cash! Leading with Nessie, I drowned all of the lesser trainers until she reached level 50; then I switched to Lola and started freezing them all. (Remember, Ice deals standard to Fire in RBY!) Lola hit L50 after polishing off the final lesser trainer. After going back to the Pokémon Center to replenish PP, I put Nessie back in and washed away Blaine like so much flotsam.
I battled all of the trainers on Route 21, then hiked north from Pallet Town to Viridian City and made a quick stop at the local Pokémon Center before heading to the eighth and final Gym.
It was very considerate of Giovanni to staff his Gym with no fewer than eight lesser trainers. After all, it's a big Gym and there's a lot of floor to wipe with them. When I was all finished doing that, I took on Giovanni himself for the third and final time. I'd say it was a bloodbath, but there was an awful lot of water involved, so I guess it was really just a regular bath.
All eight Badges in hand, I headed down Route 22 and walked all over my rival Owen. His Alakazam actually managed to pose a credible threat, but Lola landed a critical hit Ice Beam and shut him up in a hurry. His Venusaur was actually higher level than me, but that didn't save it. Ironically, defeating Venusaur brought Lola up to the same level Venusaur was...
With that taken care of, I passed through the Pokémon League front gate and made my way up Route 23 to the final obstacle barring my way to the Pokémon League: Victory Road...

    Team:
    Pearl L51
    Swift, Surf, Double-Edge, Ice Beam
(Swift for its never-miss property. Double-Edge might become something with no recoil; I'm not sure yet.)

    Nessie L52
Surf, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Confuse Ray
(BoltBeam FTW! Confuse Ray is filler.)

    Lola L53
Psychic, Ice Beam, Body Slam, Lovely Kiss
(Body Slam might get replaced with Seismic Toss if it proves too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Dux L3
    Peck, Sand-Attack, Cut, Fly
(One of the most famous HMers for its unique combo of HMs 1 and 2.)

    Wannabe L39
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Strength
(Retired in style, Wannabe is now an HMer!)

Next: Lots of Boulder-Pushing! Oh Boy!

I noticed this challenge a little while ago and suddenly decided to give it a shot. I only have a copy of Yellow, so I'm using that. Unfortunately, I decided to go with a Fire, so I stuck with Pikachu until I could get to the Charmander in Cerulean. I've been playing this game constantly all evening, so I got fairly far. And I kept a running record of just about everything I did, so I have a nice, long transcript to post.

    R/B/Y Monotype challenge: Fire

Started new game on Yellow; named self Fiara and rival Oceanus
    Picked up potion from PC
Got Pikachu, named it TEMP.PAL (“temporary pal,” I’ll get rid of him eventually)
(lost against rival; didn’t want to use the potion)
Got free potion from the pokemart worker
Got Oak’s parcel, delivered it, got pokedex
Went back to Viridian and got an Antidote and a bunch of Potions
Got hidden potion in CUT-able tree near Viridian exit
Made my way through Viridian Forest, fighting trainers
Got to Pewter, healed, realized I never fought my rival a second time and went back (I figure I’ll need all the training I can get before fighting Brock, anyway)
Fought rival (TEMP.PAL at level 14)
    Went back to Pewter
Fought Jr.Trainer. TEMP.PAL reached lvl. 15 and learned Double Team
    Healed, challenged Brock
Strategy: Double Team until evasion wouldn’t go any higher, than Quick Attack until the battle was over
Won, got Boulder Bade and Bide TM
    Healed, headed for Mt. Moon
Fought 4 trainers on Rt. 3, avoided the rest
Got to PKMN Center, healed, bought the Magikarp just because, then immediately stuck it in the PC.
    Went into Mt. Moon
Got free items, avoided trainers, let TEMP.PAL beat Zubats but ran from everything else
Ran into a Clefairy, caught it with the free pokeball I got in Viridian Forest
Ran into 3 more Clefairies on the way out o_O
Beat Super Nerd, got Helix Fossil
    Beat TR, left Mt. Moon
Got hidden Great Ball and free TM, then went to Cerulean
Healed, deposited Clefairy and random items, then went toward Nugget Bridge
Fought Rival (TEMP.PAL was at lvl. 19)
(beat Spearow, then Double Teams until max evasion, followed by Quick Attacks and Thundershocks where appropriate. Sandshrew used Sand Attack, which threw of TEMP.PAL’s accuracy for the rest of the battle.) TEMP.PAL reached lvl. 20, replaced Quick Attack with Slam
    Healed, took on Nugget Bridge
    Beat Nugget Bridge, got Nugget
    Got Charmander, named it Comet.
Healed, kept TEMP.PAL to use as an HMer later (and so I could get Bulbasaur later, just because.)
Bought lots of potions, then trained Comet on Rt. 4
Comet fainted, switched to TEMP.PAL to run away (didn’t want to lose $)
Healed and saved for the first time
Raised Comet to lvl. 16; he evolved. Healed and switched to training on Rt. 24
Helped Bill, got S.S.Ticket, went to robbed house and got Dig TM
Taught Dig to Comet, then challenged Gym (Comet at lvl. 22)
Beat gym trainers (used nothing but Dig), healed, saved and challenged Misty (Comet at lvl. 23)
Used nothing by Dig; took out Staryu but was killed by Starmie
Restarted and went to Rt. 5 to train some more
Realized I could skip Misty entirely for the moment, and did so
Headed through Underground Path. Found Full Restore and X Special
Fought every trainer on Rt. 6
    Reached Vermillion
Ignored the guy with the Old Rod, got the Bike Voucher
Stopped by Pokemart and picked up some Super Potions
Considered going right back to Cerulean for the Bike, but decided to wait until later
Went to Rt. 11 to train, instead
Fought all the trainers, picked up the hidden Escape Rope, healed and went to S.S. Anne
Beat some trainers, got some free items. When Comet got to lvl. 30, I decided to try fighting Misty again.
Went back to Cerulean, exchanged the Bike Voucher for a Bicycle, got the free Bulbasaur (and promptly stuck it in the PC), then saved and headed back to the gym
Used nothing but Dig again. Staryu died in one hit. Starmie took two, but it used Bubblebeam in between, which took out about half of Comet’s HP.
Got the Cascade Badge and Bubblebeam TM
Healed, deposited random items into the PC, sold the Nugget (finally), then got on the bike and headed back to Vermillion
Continued fighting trainers and getting items on the S.S. Anne
Once everything else was done, I left the ship, healed, and went back to fight my rival
Since Comet was at lvl. 34, the battle was a snap; one-hit KOs for the most part (aside from Eevee, who took two)
Talked to the captain, got the Cut HM, then left and watched the ship sail away before healing and heading to the gym
Realized I didn’t have a pokemon that knew Cut yet, and didn’t want to teach it to Comet, so I caught a random Pidgeotto for the job
Realized Pidgeotto can’t learn Cut, then realized Bulbasaur can. (At least I’ve got a pokemon to teach Fly to later, if I don’t want to teach it to Comet when he’s a Charizard.) Deposited Pidgeotto in the PC, took out Bulbasaur, taught it Cut, THEN headed for the gym
Breezed through the gym trainers, opened the doors, saved and took on Lt. Surge (Comet was lvl. 35)
The battle only took one Dig, since he only had a Raichu
Got the Thunder Badge and Thunderbolt TM, then left
Got the free Squirtle from the police officer
Realized I was two pokemon short of getting the Flash HM, so I pulled out a Moonstone and Rare Candy and evolved the Clefairy and Comet. And promptly re-deposited the Clefable
Headed through Diglett’s Cave (belatedly realizing I could have just let Comet fight stuff along the way), then got the Flash HM from the Aide
Got free items from farther down the route, then went back through the tunnel and went straight back through Cerulean to Rt. 9
Decided to fight as few trainers as possible, to save some for when I get other fire-types that need training. Ended up fighting 3 (could have been two, but one was by accident)
Got to the pokemon center, healed, then realized TEMP.PAL could only learn Flash, so I taught it to it, with all intentions of sticking it in the PC as soon as I’m out of Rock Tunnel
Deposited random items into the PC, then headed into Rock Tunnel (bypassing the trainer buy using CUT on one of the bushes)
Again decided to fight as few trainers as possible. Ended up fighting 5. ran from most wild pokemon, just to get through quicker
Left Rock Tunnel, got a hidden Max Either, went to Lavender, healed, then left for Rt. 7
Avoided most of the trainrs but using Cut to go through the patch of grass in the middle, then went into the Underground Tunnel. Combed it for items, found a Nugget and an Elixer
Got to Celadon. Finally, I can get some more members of my team! Went straight for the Eevee, didn’t nickname it (couldn’t think of anything off the top of my head, and my battery was running out)
Got the coin case, gathered the free coins from people and on the floor, then bought coins until I had just over 1000, then cashed them in for a Vulpix who I named Kyuubi (it means “nine tails,” and is the name of the nine-tailed demon fox in Naruto)
Headed over to the Department Store, got the free Counter TM, then bought 3 Fire Stones. One was immediately used on Eevee. While I was there I picked up a Fresh Water for the Saffron gate guards
    Picked up Fly HM
Got Pidgeotto out of the PC, taught it Fly, then headed back to Pewter
Got Old Amber, then went back to Rt. 3 for some leveling
Saved at Mt. Moon pokemon center

    Current team:

    Kyuubi lvl. 19

    Flareon lvl. 25

    Comet lvl. 38

    Bulbasaur lvl. 10

    Pidgeotto lvl. 17

    TEMP.PAL lvl. 21

EDIT: Added pictures. Just beacuse I can, I'm using the D/P sprites.

Good work Mew Trainer Rose. Some pictures might be nice. Other then that, nice read. It's tough playing Yellow in the mono challenege, when you only start with Pikachu.

    R/B/Y Monotype challenge: Fire
    Day 2:

After deciding to name my team after various Japanese mythical creatures, I did some research, then took a trip to the Name Rater.
Comet is now Oni (which is a horned, red-skinned ogre/demon)
Flareon is now Inugami (a spirit guard dog)
    Kyuubi’s name stayed the same
And I have names planned for the other two members of my team (Magmar isn’t available in Yellow and as far as I know Moltres is illegal, so there are only two other fire-type families in the first generation)
After that, I decided to catch Mew as an HMer. It made me sad to see my favorite pokemon reduced to such a thing, but then I reminded myself I have a legal one on my copy of Emerald. And that it meant I’d be able to travel with Mew for the rest of the game.
So I followed the Mew glitch and encountered Mew. Since it was being used as an HMer, I figured it would be alright to use my existing HMers to catch it, so TEMP.PAL and Bulbasaur were put to use. (Thunderwave and Leech Seed FTW.) the Mew was named Utility, taught Cut and Fly, then Pidgeotto and Bulbasaur were stuck in the PC. TEMP.PAL will stay with me until I go through Rock Tunnel again. Or until I catch the rest of my team, whichever comes first.
I also did something I’ve never done before on any pokemon gameboy gane: I planned out the movesets for my pokemon. *gasp* I never have anyone to play against, so I just put together sets that can beat the game, which requires little though. But I figured this time I’d actually need to for some sort of strategy. So I did my research…and found that in R/B/Y, all fire-types have surprisingly similar (somewhat limited) movepools, with few offensive moves beside fire- and normal-types. -_- Kind of makes me wish I hadn’t taught Dig to Oni earlier, it might have been more useful on another pokemon. And I’ll probably replace it with Earthquake later, since he’s the only one on my team that can learn it. Oh, well, I planned as best I could (which is probably not great; I’ve never been good at planning pokemon movesets, for aforementioned reasons).

    Current team:

    Kyuubi lvl. 19

    Inugamilvl. 25

    Oni lvl. 38

    Utility lvl. 7

    TEMP.PAL lvl. 21

If not for this I would have used Mew myself instead of bothering with Wigglytuff and Dux.

Ah, I didn't see that. I had figured it would be ok since it was only being used as an HMer. Oh, well, it would have been handy but I'll find something else.

    Name: Tucker
    Type: Ice

I fought my way through Victory Road. It actually went pretty well. For the first time in a while, I had the PP to go through the entire place in one trip instead of having to pull out and go to the Viridian Pokémon Center partway through, or start skipping trainers to reach Indigo Plateau and rest there. I also battled Moltres for the heck of it, and with two strong Water-types at my disposal the battle wasn't any harder than any other wild Victory Road encounter.
I reached Indigo Plateau, sold and deposited the stuff from Victory Road, and prepared to take on the Elite Four.

—TUCKER is the POKéMON LEAGUE CHAMPION!—

Prof. Oak came along and told Owen that without trust and love for his pokémon, he would never become champ again. Liar. The rival becomes champ again the moment you leave Indigo Plateau. Oh well. We both know I can kick his butt any time.

    Team:
    Pearl L55
    Swift, Surf, Double-Edge, Ice Beam
(Swift for its never-miss property. Double-Edge might become something with no recoil; I'm not sure yet.)

    Lola L58
Psychic, Ice Beam, Body Slam, Lovely Kiss
(Body Slam might get replaced with Seismic Toss if it proves too weak to keep even with the 30% PAR chance.)

    Nessie L57
Surf, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Confuse Ray
(BoltBeam FTW! Confuse Ray is filler.)

    Dux L3
    Peck, Sand-Attack, Cut, Fly
(One of the most famous HMers for its unique combo of HMs 1 and 2.)

    Wannabe L39
    Water Gun, Bite, Dig, Strength
(Retired in style, Wannabe is now an HMer!)

    R/B/Y Monotype challenge: Fire
    Day 3:

    Deposited Utility, took out Bulbasaur
    Taught Fly to Oni
Got the free Swift TM, taught it to Kyuubi
Flew to Mt. Moon, then trained Kyuubi by fighting all the trainers I’d skipped earlier
Went to Rt. 9 and continued training
After fighting all those Hikers with rock-type pokemon, I realized that my mid-20’s-level fire-types couldn’t handle Rock Tunnel yet, so I flew to Lavender to train them on Rt. 10 and Rt. 8 by fighting random trainers. Made many trips to the Pokemon Center
Gave Fresh Water to the Saffron guard, gained entry
    Got Psychic TM

    Day 4:

Went to Game Corner, fought Rocket that guarded the poster, then fought other Rockets on my way through the “secret” base, got the free items and Lift Key. Healed, saved before going to confront Giovanni
…and Jessie and James showed up again when I got off the elevator. I forgot they do that. Easy win, though. Then I used a Super Potion on Kyuubi, saved and continued on. I won quickly, grabbed the Sliph Scope and left
Went to Lavender, healed, headed to the tower, encountered Oceanus and beat him soundly
Healed, then decided since Kyuubi was at level 30 and might reach level 35 (when she would learn Flamethrower) sometime while I was in the tower, so I took a Fire Stone with me, then headed back in
Realized that Inugami’s only offensive attacks were Normal-tye, so he would be useless in this tower. Decided to go directly to the healing spot, fighting as few Channelers as possible and work from there. Turned out to be a very helpful idea.

    Kyuubi lvl. 31

    TEMP.PAL lvl. 21
    Thundershock, Slam, Flash, Thunder Wave

    Bulbasaur lvl. 10

    R/B/Y Monotype challenge: Fire
    Day 5:
Fought my way to the Marowak’s ghost, beat it
Continued on, ran into Team Rocket on the next floor, beat them
    Got Pokeflute from Mr. Fuji
Headed to Celadon, saved, then woke Snorlax with the Pokeflute, beat it quickly thanks to Confuse Ray
Went to the Bike Path to get my next team member
Found and caught a Ponyta, named it Kirin
Fought random trainers until Kyuubi reached level 35, then evolved her with the Fire Stone
Headed down the bike path, got a hidden Full Restore on the way
Went to Fuscia, got the Good Rod
Entered Safari Zone, got free items, Surf HM, and Gold Teeth
Traded Gold Teeth for Strength HM
    Flew to Cerulean
Deposited random items and Bulbasaur into the PC
Fished on Rt. 25, didn’t find a Krabby (to be used as an HMer). Eventually got Squirtle, taught it Surf, and tried to Surf on Rt. 24, but didn’t have the right badge. Went back to fishing
Flew to Lavender, made my way south, fought and beat the other Snorlax, then continued until I could get the Super Rod
Flew to Cerulean to try fishing for a Krabby again, this time with the Super Rod
Found and Caught a Krabby on the first try, with only one Great ball
Named it Utilitwo in homage of Utility ;p
Immediately taught Utilitwo Strength and Surf, then went back to the Pokemon Center and taught it Cut
Went to the north entrance to Rock Tunnel, saved just outside it

    Current team:

    Kirin lvl. 28
    Ember

    Inugami lvl. 32
Quick Attack, Bite, Sand-Attack, Tail Whip

    Kyuubi lvl. 35
Flamethrower, Quick Attack, Confuse Ray, Swift

    Oni lvl. 40
    Ember, Slash, Dig, Fly

    Utilitwo lvl. 10
    Cut, Surf, Strength, Leer

    TEMP.PAL lvl. 21
    Thundershock, Slam, Flash, Thunder Wave

    Day 6:

Headed into Rock Tunnel so I could finally get TEMP.Pal off my team (I was so happy when I saw Flash wasn’t on the D/P HM list )
Got through without a fuss, immediately deposited TEMP.PAL in the PC, where it will remain for the rest of it’s life
Flew to Celadon, then went to the Bike Path to beat everyone I hadn’t fought yet
Found a hidden Rare Candy along the way (who needs an Itemfinder when you know where most of the hidden items are already?)
Fought the Bird Keepers in the path of grass outside the southern entrance to the Bike Path
Decided to take on Koga as soon as possible so I could Surf to Cinnabar and get the last member of my team
...but first flew to Celadon to stock up on Lemonade and Revives
Then flew back to Fuscia and took on the gym
It took a few trips to the pokemon center, but I beat the gym without much fuss, earning the Soul Badge and the Toxic TM
Flew to Pallet town, then Surfed south, letting Kirin beat a wild Tentacool, but avoiding trainers
Immediately went into the Pokemon Mansion, started wandering around looking for a Growlithe. Picked up free items along the way
Bought some Ultra Balls at some point when I took a trip to the pokemon center
Eventually found and caught a Growlithe, named it Shisa (a type of statue often seen guarding Japanese shrines, usually looks like a cross between a dog and a lion)
Flew to Celadon, withdrew the Coin Case from my PC
Went to the Game Corner and bought coins until I had 3300 of them
Traded coins for a Dragon Rage TM, which I taught to Shisa
Also taught Toxic to Kyuubi, thereby completing her moveset
Realized I never beat Erica, so I went over to the Celadon Gym and saved just before it

    Current Team:

    Shisa lvl. 30
Ember, Dragon Rage, Take Down, Roar

    Inugami lvl. 37
Quick Attack, Bite, Fire Spin, Sand-Attack

    Kyuubi lvl. 38
    Flamethrower, Toxic, Confuse Ray, Swift

    Kirin lvl. 38
    Ember, Stomp, Tail Whip, Growl

    Oni lvl. 40
    Ember, Slash, Dig, Fly

    Utilitwo lvl. 10
    Cut, Surf, Strength, Leer

Very well then. After resting at home in Pallet, I flew to Cerulean, swam the river, battled the Paras trainer in Route 4 and then entered Cerulean Cave, a.k.a. the Unknown Dungeon. I passed through the entire cave, collecting all of the scattered items and battling the powerhouses who lived in this place. After the Elite Four, these guys weren't too big a problem.
Having collected all of the items, I Dug out and prepared for my battle with Mewtwo. Then I re-entered and quickly made my way to the Mewtant's island.

Tucker looked in his bag again..."Darn. I'm out of Ultra Balls. Shouldn't have tossed one while it was awake...oh well." He drew out another ball, this one a different color. "...And the irony is, now I wish you weren't asleep," he told the prone form of Cinnabar Pokémon Labs' ultimate fighting machine. "I don't get to gloat now when I reveal that I've just been toying with you the whole time." He shrugged, then expanded the purple and white orb in his hand to deployment size. "C'est la vie." And with that he beaned Mewtwo in its oversized cranium with the Master Ball.

    All right! MEWTWO was caught!
New POKéDEX data will be added for MEWTWO!

    —COMPLETE!—

I cleared it out with Bug, but I don't think I posted here, check if you wish, but I am to lazy

It's do-able, especially with Butterfree in the beginning, then Parasect, then you can do as you please choosing from Pinsir to Scyther to Venomoth.

I might join the Ruby/Sapphire MTC. I've got a game going already on Ruby, but I've got all eight badges. Once I've cleared the Elite Four with that team, I'll think about monotypes.

    Name: Terry
    Type: Ground
    Badges: BoulderBadge

Chapter 1: Mother Earth gives birth to a Champion

From the depths of the ground pops up a small seed, and that seed will rule this land with iron fist, people will run in a terror, the ground will shake and the land will split into several places. With that a huge eruption causes an explosions and an alarm sounds. Along with a shout from afar...."Terry, time to get up". Thinking it's just false message, I continue raining over my land. Yet another explosion hands with a loud ring as if an alarm is sounding to leave. and yet that voice continues to annouce, "Time To Get Up". Terry is not amused, and hurt by this, he's still a small seed and doesn't know whats going on. So he rolls over and there is a loud thud, all of a sudden he opens his eyes and wakes up. He realizes, it was all a dream and he scures downstairs, grabbing his Energy Potion and waving good by to him mother. Uh...I'm late!!, says Terry very fast. His mother answer, I know Professor Oak is waiting for you. you better hurry up. He leaves and gets out there and there is silence. He goes over to the field, and this rat knaws my leg. I kick it away, and realize that was a bad idea. All of a sudden this rat uses an electric attack and I'm shocked to death, Professor Oak comes to rescue me, as I'm already down on the ground and captures this stupid mouse. And drags me back to his office....

Meanwhile his Grandson Marine it sitting there all ready laughing at me. Oak tells me there are no more Pokemon left, and I have to take this stupid rat. I almost decided I didn't want it. After it shocked it. Meanwhile Marine wants to battles me and get's all excited to show me his Pokemon. He throws the ball, and out comes a cute fox creature. I'm like fuck....he's get an Eevee, and I get a stupid Electric rat, geeze. It must be nice to be the Professor's grandson. So we battle and of course we loose. Cuz I hate Electric Pokemon and mice...but what am I going to do. So, marine leaves and tells me, I'd better hurry up and train that Pikachu, or I won't get anywhere. So, I take it out and tell ti to battle a few Pidgey, and Rattata....he won't listen to me, or even go in his ball.

I think to myself, this going to be a long battle. Finally, I just yell. You should just get away from me, I don't like you and you don't like me. You should just be Discharged....Well the electric rat didn't like that, and shocked me with all his power. I was strinked down and paralyzed. He came over and tried to comfort me. I realized this stupid rat, wasn't stupid at all he could sue some very powerful attacks. So, we put our difference aside and we sort of worked together...I rushed to Viridian City, and go the parcel from, and got the poke-dex back in town and then headed to the viridian forest.

So, I got there and me and Discharge were zap bugs like crazy. As we were leaving the forest, we encountered this high level Caterpie and lost, cuz we had no attacks, apparently Discharge actually ran out of power and I had to rush him back to pokemon center and get him healed up. and rushed back to beat that one trainer. After that I was in Pewter City and I went straight to Gym, actually some kids told me Brock was looking for Challenges, and took me in. So I just had discharge with me, and went to battle one trainer, and lost because apparently Diglett has a high critical hit ratio. Again, another lost.

Terry, thinking to myself. I'm not doing so well at this Pokemon training thingy, maybe I should quit. But realizing I wanted more then this. I grabbed discharged and battle right in front of Pewter until I was a high enough level. and I beat the Junior Trainer hands down, and went to brock, after a few Tail Whips his Geodude was gone. Now, it was the Giant Rock Snake. I realized I shouldn't have deleted Growl, but Tail whip and Quick attack were working fine, with some help from Potions.

Anyways, I was doing great standing stong and his Onix was failing at life. AFter getting a few screeches and Critial Hits from Bind. I was left with 1HP, so instead of tackling me, it used Bide. I was like....WTF, Brock is the dumbest trainer ever...atleast that A.I. on this was. With my final quick attack, I defeated him and got my badge, then, off to beat a bunch of trainers in my way. With Discharge on my side. I was going to win. I actually got into a battle with Spearow first, and as I was throwing the ball, I realized this is yellow and I don't need to trade for Farfetch'd as an HM slave, I can use Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander.

Then, in this little area before Mt.Moon and saw what I was finally searching for, the Ground Mouse, Sandshrew. I was in love with this Ground type at first glance, I almost didn't want to capture it. It was alusive, and took several balls to catch, but finally it was mine. I told Discharge, to go into his Ball, but he just wouldn't listen. So, I told him you can hang around, just don't think your going to be the STAR okay!!....Dischaged noded his head, but I'm sure he was thinking something Sneaky. and now at the Pokemon center, and this is where I rest with my Pokemon
