I will die a happy Oslo if I get to see a Fire/Grass dual-type this time around. Perhaps not as a starter (actually, preferably not as a starter) but... yeah, Fire/Grass. And since every generation so far has introduced a tree Pokemon, I think a burning tree Pokemon would be awesome times a kajillion.

Yeah, but it's a CACTUS. That alone makes it one of the few cool Grass types that isn't just a generic flower, lizard, ball-with-leaves/vines, or fruit-based abomination of nature (Ludicolo and Exeggutor, I'm looking at you tropical freaks.).

Here's a thought Charles. Explain to us what mythos are you trying to keep as a core to your team? Is it sticking to sea mythos, to somehow fit the Pirate theme? Or are you collecting just random legends and Mythos alongside Pirates.

In any event, Looking from your list, I'd say the only ones that fit your pirate theme is..

Bulbasaur & Gloom (poison buckets), Poliwag (scallywag), Machoke (deck swabbers), Farfetch’d (swordsman), Tangela (mass of rope), Kingdra (dreaded mermaid temptress), Jynx (Siren), Red Gyarados (Unnamed Leviathan), Lapras (??), Ditto (Private quarters), Porygon (Plundered booty), Dragonite (purveyor of the skies), Hoothoot (Obligatory owl on deck? Maybe), Chinchou (ominous lights at sea), Ampharos (Lighthouse), Murkrow (Bad luck), Wingull (this is a given), Corphish (Shellfish, check), Rotom(phantom ghost that bugs people)

Id suggest a Misdreavus for your team to keep with the Pirate theme, and a Wailord cause I mean Moby Dick?

In addition to the ones DL mentioned, your Chatot is pretty darn piratey.

The Duskull and Cubone lines might be nice additions, the latter especially. (Cubone has a skull to match a Jolly Roger and a bone to mimic a sword. As well, Cubones are Ground-type and can therefore dig for treasure!)
