Discord is a programme for PC/Mac or App for iOS and Android that was set up for people playing MMO's to voice chat during raid content. That doesn't mean you HAVE to use it for games. I'm often just talking to friends on it while not playing lol.
I dunno how to set up a server though. Probably fairly straightforward.

Yes, for those of you who have tried Discord (or want to try it), you don't need to download it to your computer if you don't want to. I'm also using the web version.

Discord is still good for voice chat though, it's certainly much better than the abomination that is Skype.
