Releasing your Blissey and Blastoise, -they both turn toward the heavy sound of something banging against the manhole covre you recently pushed aside. It slides over enough and a blue hand clamps onto it, before sliding it off to the side.

Timidly, eyes peer put and revolve until they spit Venus and Hydronix. It looks to be a Lucario, oddly enough.

I'm going to see if the Lucario is friendly, if it is, I'm going to tell it how much I admire it and the aura it gives off. If not, I'm going to ask it for a battle so I can eventually catch it.

You step in front of Hydronix, and calmly ask and comment about the Pokemon, as it warily climbs out of the hole. This Lucario seems a bit timid, maybe it just evolved? In any event, it stands its ground and looks at Venus and Hydronix.

Maybe this guy would make him stronger. He nods to the idea of a battle, and his aura flares up intensly. He beckons for all you have to try him. If he deems you worthy, he'll end the fight.

I'm going to shake the Lucario's hand and tell him he's got a deal.

From there, I'm going to have Hydronix go into battle (with Venus on the sidelines just incase I need her help), and tell him not to hold back no matter what, before having him use Muddy Water, followed by a couple of Brick Breaks.

The wager set, you extend your hand in cordiality. Lucario extends his, and shakes, though Lucario is not too sure what that meant. However, when Hydro steps up and bellows, Lucario is all but fearful.

With you and Venus to the side, Hydro aims both cannons at the steely fighter, who begins to move his arms around his body slowly. Hydro fires a deluge of water at the sandy ground, creating a Muddy swath that strikes Lucario as he dashes through the surf. Lucario lunges past Hydronix, who simply thought he issed.

But it was Lucario's right foot that connected with Hydronix's face, sending the massive amphibian down face first. Lucario cartwheels into a standing position, and merely beckons the fighter to stand.

Hydronix stands up, shaking off that kick, and runs at Lucario, fists shining. Lucaio meets him head on, and both begin exchanging blows and parries. Lucario knows he's faster than his opponent, and drops his guard for a second, leaving Hydro open to step in and slam his fist into Lucario's gut. The power behind the punch, gave Lucario enough resolve to NEVER let that happen again.

Hydro pushes for the follow through to his gutbuster, but Lucario grabs the offending arm and twists it behind Hydronix's back. Hydro bellows in pain, and Lucario then begins to bend Hydro's back by pulling his left turret down to meet the twisted arm. After a few moments of being held that way, Lucario releases Hydro, who stumbles forward, pained incredibly from that.

Hydro backed up and rotated his cannons until they both felt stable again. Lucario gave the tortoise its space, and watched with baited breath as that shell gained a deeper gloss. It extended around all Hydronix, and he felt much better about continuing. Hydro then realized he didn't see Lucario move at all....did he miss something?

No matter. The cannons geared to fire, and then Hydro felt what he percieved to be his lungs exiting his cannons instead. Even with his defenses heightened, that Focus Punch left him scatterbrained. As an exit strategy, he fired off water shot after water shot-the muddy concoction hitting and forcing Lucario to stand his ground. Lucario glared at the tortoise and slammed his fist into the ground, forcing an Earthquake that bounced Hydronix up and at 'em.

Added danger, that quake was a bit beefy, almost loosening the cliffedge.

Standing up, Hydronix stared down his competitor, and fired a well aimed blast of water that would skip and create a huge Muddy Surf. Lucario slid one foot back, and tucked his hands in to his right side. A mass of energy was produced as that wave of energy came railing for him. He threw his Aura Sphere right at the Muddy stream, watching as the sphere blasted through the water, and headed straight for Hydro. Both Pokemon were hit by the offending attacks, but Lucario still stood there, aura glowing. Hydro was on his knees panting.

This Lucario was playing him from the start....

Good grief, this Lucario's a tough one. No matter, I'm not going to let Hydronix get hurt any worse than he already is, so I'm going to switch him out for Venus, and have her go after the Lucario with some Flamethrowers to scorch him good.

Hydro stood up, and was ready for his commands, but none came. He looked over to you, and you just waved him over Lucario seemed confused,, and then seemed put off kilter when a swath of Flame came from that giant egg! He flipped backwards, and held his left arm, feeling the burn against his cool skin. That egg just committed a horrid act. Retaliation came in the form of a full out assault, just hard enough to shove Venus backwards, and land her on her tuckus.

Payback.

Venus wobbled up and went after Lucario again, keeping him back with a second Flamethrower. Seeing that she wasn't letting him anywhere near her, he fired off another powerful Sphere at the lapping flames, and scored a Direct hit. Venus stopped firespitting and held her face, it felt like he cracked her shell!

Venus didn't quit though, and she tried for one last hefty Flamethrower. Lucario ran up to the Fire, but before it hit, he threw a different energy at the flames. this energy pulsed oddly, and the Flames seemed to bend backwards because of its strange energy. Halfway through its Flame deflection, the Pulse exploded, leaving Venus with a shorted out Flamethrower.

Lucario still patted his arm..those flames were really hot. But he wasn't done yet, as signaled by the Aura he gave off.

Lucario's Aura was outstanding. He stood up, eyes yellow with rage. Venus was taken back by that, and watched with a bit of fear as Lucario walked toward her. That burn singing him, he seemed to ignore it.

Venus took a few jolly hops back, and remembered her instructions, that being to fry him once. That she did. However, Lucario ran around to the left, evading the Flamethrower.

Venus kept the flames going, and Lucario surprised her by jumping out of the Flamethrower range, and lunging skyward. Venus pushed her flame upwards, only to see Lucario blast down an immense Beam. You look on in amazement as Venus is engulfed by the beam and the resulting explosion causes smoke and dust to fly about in a whirlwind.

Lucario lands, confident Venus is out for good, and looks to you in brash confidence. You grip that Great Ball, and then smirk, as you and Hydronix hop backwards. Lucario opens his eyes when he feels you two bounce back, and turns to see flames cloaking him. He cries out and flips backwards, fur singed even more. You don't waste a moment and throw your Great Ball-hitting Lucario in the left ankle. It absorbs him, and shakes once...

shakes twice..

*PING* Lucario is caught! Venus looks like shes been through the ringer though. But you clap as that sphere evaporates, leaving you with one last catching sphere.

You stumble back into town, and look around. A Wigglytuff skips by. You take a deep breath, glad to be back in sunshine and slightly protected from the harsh sun. Overhead flies a Zubat, into a building.

You chase down the Wigglytuff whom stops and waddles back to you.

After you get Venus to inquire about where they can be healed, the Tuff points in the direction out of the Village, and toward the forest. Sorry, no healing things here. Venus relays this back to you, and sighs.

You look around sheepishly, and see a Grimer ooze along. Safari Zone gets tougher by the moment.

As you reach this area, you notice the humidity rice exponentially. An Ekans slithers past, and you stop when you reach a sign that says *Feizhi Outpost ahead*

Well then! You march right on in, Venus and Hydronix following. You hear cries and buzzes extrodinaire-and whoa, there goes a Nuzleaf!

Hydro shoots a jet of water, catching the plant's attention. It looks down from its loft, and wonders what the hell ya'll want. Venus relays its concern, and Nuzleaf laughs, before running off. Apparently, he was of no help.

By Hydro's not so sure, and goes plodding after him! Venus however points in the other direction, where she thinks she smells something sweet.

You drag Venus after Hydro. Splitting up is not a good idea. Smart ploy by you. Hydro stops after a brisk pace and crouches down. You peer over him, and see that wily Nuzleaf was collecting all sorts of Berries for himself! There was a HUGE mound of berries about 50 meters away. He ran off again after a moment, and a Shiftry shifted in its sleep right next to the stash, as a guard of sorts.

You and your troupe break through the clearing, and see the mound in all its glory. The Shiftry is fast asleep. The Nuzleaf turns at the sound of footsteps and is not happy to see you three here. He begins spouting off about how he's not sharing.

Venus though, begins walking away again-obviously allured by some infections scent.

Huh, luck likes you. Nuzleaf is suddenly swooped upon by a Yanmega, and taken away. Oh man, nature's cruel! There seems to be a mix of berries here...and that Shiftry isn't getting up anytime soon. You look up and as your gaze rises past the Kakuna in the trees, that Yanmega heads toward something in the distance....

You keep an eye on Venus as you kneel down and start perusing through this horde. For the most part, these seem to be Mago and Aguav berries-ones you'd find in this type of climate....ahh but there's one Sitrus.

Few Oran berries, though they dun look so good.

You grab the Sitrus and keep moving, thinking now would be a good time to get Venus. You hike along the path she's making-and note that for a jungle, its pretty quiet. A few Paras skitter by, and Weepinbells hang from the trees.

Venus passes a tree abut when you reach it, yer stopped by a Pinsir. It clacks its headclaws together, which are saturated in berry juice. Its not looking for a fight.

Hydro walks up to the Pinsir and relays your question.

Hydro tells you that the Pinsir is not sure abut a specific type of berry, but that the one you hold doesn't grow that often here, and they're prolly scattered around. Pinsir then points to high up in the tree, where you an see a branch that has another Sitrus berry on it.

He goes on to say that they grow in small batches, but then Treecko's and Chatot's and Munchlax's eat them kinda quick. You look around you and then have a sudden heart racing feeling.

Venus is nowhere in sight!

You take off like a shot, with Hydro behind ya. Soon, you run into a clearing, and note the scent is intensly strong here. But, all that are around are petals and leaves! Oh and there's Venus, completely enamored with the scent...of a Honeycomb. A Vespiquen flutters from the comb, and watches this curious interloper carefully.

Over by the large petals, a Meganium emerges from the trees, looks down at one, but then shakes its head at it and walks away.

You run over to Venus, who is trying to get to the honey, and that strikes you as brilliant. The Vespiquen then comes down to you, Combee's following her. You ask if you could maybe ask for her blessing so that your team could be completely healed. The queen ponders this and then nods, saying she'll heal one and give enough honey to another to help considerably.

Well, I'm thinking Venus and Hydronix need healing the most, so I'll ask the Vespiquen if she can fully heal Venus, and possibly help Hydronix as well.
