Default 4th gen reference in FR/LG?

I've been playing through my brother's LeafGreen version to get Mewtwo and noticed something interesting on Five Island. If you check the computer monitor in the rocket warehouse, you'll notice it says "The Influence of Magnetic Waves on Pokemon Evolution". In the 4th gen Magneton and Nosepass evolve under a strong magnetic field, like the one in Mt. Coronet. So maybe Diamond and Pearl were already being planned and this was a nod to them. More importantly, I wonder if there are any other references like this.

It's a possibility, but it also could be a reference to Team Rocket's experiments in Gold/Silver/Crystal that screwed up the Lake of Rage (and thus created the Red Gyarados). Either way, it IS a nod to something.

FR/LG also makes a reference to Silver (someone in the Rocket Warehouse mentions Giovanni having a son with red hair, and we know by manga continuity that Silver is Giovanni's kid, so...)

Of course, D/P/Platinum in turn makes references upon references to the other games, so maybe they're just having fun.

It couldn't have referred to G/S/C as that had yet to happen.

It is very interesting though. There could have been references in Gen I about Gen II, Gen II about Gen III. It's possible.

    um...LEAF green was after GSC...

And yeah it most likely was. These games dont just go 'we need a new generation *poof* yay its finished'. They do these things way in advance, video games take years to make.

Chances are the next Generation is already in planning stages if not further and by 'next gen' i mean whatever theyre planning to release AFTER the new version of Gold/Silver.

Game wise it was after Fr/Lg but timewise G/S/C is 3 years ahead. So they couldn't have known about it. Team Rocket had split up in G/S/C but in Fr/Lg they were still together so Hg/Ss will be set 3 years ahead of Fr/Lg.

Well what I meant was those could have been notes for the Lake of Rage experiment in the planning stages, in other words, a reference to future events. However, yes, it could just as easily be a reference to Magnezone and Probopass (or maybe both, who knows?).
