DQ: 1 Week.. but we all know that's not bound to happen... right?
Arena: The beach of a man-made lake in the country. Hard rocks make up cliffs and several platforms along the edges of the lake. There is some water run-off into the atrificial lake, but it's minimal. The lake is deep and cool, and can support a variety of large Water Pokemon.

On the shore of a manmade lake, two combatants stare each other down. One is a overall large dinosaurs from the prehistoric age, while the other is an ancient ghost from the distant past…

Spectrum goes first, turning into a blurry shadow of deep purple and green the ghost sneaks around faster than Tarasque can keep up and strikes from behind (5 DMG @ Tarasque, 1 ENG @ Spectrum). Tarasque responds by spinning around, and slamming the ghost type with its dark mana infused tail (10 DMG @ Spectrum, 3 ENG @ Tarasque).

Now both summons decide to use the *exact* same move on each other. Both of them charge and release a wave of electrical energy that slams into either one. (6 DMG @ Tarasque & Spectrum, 3 ENG @ Tarasque & Spectrum).

Now its time for the final spells. Spectrum uses his limited knowledge on bug mana, he manages to call a silvery, bug-energy wind that sweeps through the field and creates long scratches on Tarasque’s skin (6 DMG @ Tarasque, 3 ENG @ Spectrum). The dinosaur responds accordingly, she roars as brown wisps of energy begin to rise from the ground and form into a perfect brown sphere. Spectrum groans as the ball careens into him, dealing good damage (9 DMG @ Spectrum, 5 ENG @ Tarasque).

Tarasque decides to pick up the pace, ignoring the fact that Spectrum looks ready to do something devious, she begins to look at shiny and new (3 ENG @ Tarasque)… That is, until Spectrum zooms in and snatches the benefit away with some dark mana trick (3 ENG @ Spectrum [+2 Spd])!

With his new found speed Spectrum quickly splits into six (2 ENG @ Spectrum[+5 (Temp) Evade]). Tarasque roars, and stomps her foot, summoning a rock tomb on one of the copies, alas, the other doubles remain, leaving Tarasque to assume she missed (2 ENG @ Tarasque, [-1 Evade @ Spectrum]).

Thoroughly annoyed, as she remembers the last ghost she fought was this frustrating, she watches as all the Spiritombs use fire mana to shoot bright blue embers at her! They singe her skin but it didn’t reveal which Spectrum was real (2 ENG @ Spectrum). Tarasque tries her luck again, hoping for the best she charges at the ghost on the end and… Her attack flies right through the copy! Oh no (3 ENG @ Tarasque [-1 Evade @ Spectrum)…

With increased speed Spectrum goes first and calms his mind, thoughts of chaos flow away and all that is left is beautiful serenity (4 ENG @ Spectrum [+1 Spec. Def, +1 Spec. Atk]). However, he is torn from this serenity when a wave of electricity zaps him and destroys his clones (5 DMG @ Spectrum, 2 ENG @ Tarasque).

Using his boost to his advantage, Spectrum summons a wind that’s laced with dead spirits and afterlife mana. The wind brushes by Tarasque who finds herself being torment by spirits for a short while (10 DMG @ Tarasque, 2 ENG @ Spectrum). The dinosaur roars in again and claws at Spectrum with dark mana (5 DMG @ Spectrum, 3 ENG @ Tarasque).

Now comes the final actions, Spiritomb still has the speed advantage and takes advantage of this. Water mana gathers before him and fires a pulse of pressurized water right into Rampardos’s face (12 DMG @ Tarasque, 3 ENG @ Spectrum). For payback Tarasque slams her opponent with dark mana again (10 DMG @ Spectrum, 3 ENG @ Tarasque).

Okay Tarasque, so much for our break, back to work!

This whole burn thing's a bit of a pain, however most attacks aren't going to work on a Ghost Type. So, spread the pain. Go with a Flamethrower, Ice Beam and Thunderbolt line-up, keep up the pressure! If he tries to use Double Team, then Sub in a Shockwave.

And here we go again, Tarasque, rather frustrated that once again a ghost has the advantage, sets about evening the odds. However, Spectrum is faster, and as she stares at him to aim, the ghost suddenly glows as bright as the sun (2 ENG @ Spectrum [Blind: 80% chance of a miss]). Rampardos blinks, shaking her head she begins to panick! I’m Blind! I’m Blind! But her orders were clear, taking a guess at where Spectrum could possibly be, she spews out a stream of flames that misses by a mile and sets a tree on fire… (5 ENG @ Tarasque).

Waiting for his opponent to go first, Spiritomb watches as an aqua, icy beam flies into the lake, freezing a patch of the water (5 ENG @ Tarasque). The ghost takes his chance now; he concentrates, sending out hypnotic waves that quickly begin to lull the beast to sleep. With a resounding crash the Rampardos hits the ground and begins to snooze (3 ENG @ Spectrum).

With his opponent snoozing, Spectrum’s eyes glow with dark mana as he begins to concoct the nastiest of plots (3 ENG @ Spectrum [+2 Spec Atk]).

With the speed advantage, Spectrum focuses in on Tarasque so is beginning to stir in her sleep. He enters her dreams and sees her friends, family and trainer… And eats them. The entire scene is enveloped in darkness (13 DMG @ Tarasque, 5 ENG @ Spectrum, 7 HLH @ Spectrum). Tarasque gets up, eyes still closed she burrows deep into the earth, leaving a good sized pile of dirt behind her. Then it happens, surprising Spectrum she rises out from under him and sends the ghost FLYING over to the water’s edge (8 DMG @ Spectrum, 4 ENG @ Tarasque).

Annoyed, but overall okay, Spectrum prays to the Water God and suddenly the sky turns horribly dark. The snoozing dinosaur turns over in her sleep, uncomfortable when it suddenly begins to pour down water (4 ENG @ Spectrum). Tarasque gets to her feet again, and, with better aim than she has when she’s awake, slams the ghost with ground mana (8 DMG @ Spectrum, 4 ENG @ Tarasque).

Now for the final actions, as Tarasque focuses her inner energy (3 ENG @ Tarasque [20% Chance of Crit. Hit])… The ghost type uses the rain to his advantage, gathering the watery mana he sends a pulse of pressurized water at the dinosaur. Who is hit square in the face by the attack (15 DMG @ Tarasque, 3 ENG @ Spectrum).

Going with the speed advantage again, Spectrum enters Tarasque’s increasingly lighter sleep, and devours her dreams once again (14 DMG @ Tarasque, 5 ENG @ Spectrum, 7 HLH @ Spectrum). However, the dinosaur then splits into 6, effectively making it much more difficult for the ghost to hit (3 ENG @ Tarasque).

As the six slumbering dinosaurs stir a little more in their sleep, Spectrum is forced to try his luck. He tries on the second clone, but alas, his mental magic finds nothing but a blank slate! He’s been fooled (5 ENG @ Spectrum)! Tarasque then concentrates, and summons the overpowering sun. It breaks through the clouds and rain, raising the temperature considerably (4 ENG @ Tarasque).

Annoyed, Spectrum tries again, this time on the sixth clone. But that Pokemon fades away! Spectrum growls, the energy around him wavering in anger as his attack has failed *again* (5 ENG @ Spectrum). But now the remaining clones and the dinosaur gets up, it stomps its foot threateningly and then charges, Spiritomb yelps as the ancient Pokemon gets it revenge and SMASHES the ghost type, and sends him flying 15 feet back (18 DMG @ Spectrum, 4 ENG @ Tarasque).

Swooping down from above is a familiar powerhouse player of Mew Master’s team. Ziz, the almighty Aerodactyl hovers over the field, eyeing the ghost Pokemon with evil intent. As he hovers his eyes emit a red beam that begins to sweep over the field (4 ENG @ Ziz). Spectrum, not wanting to be locked in a physical state, uses disappears in a dark blur and slams Ziz from the side (9 DMG @ Ziz, 2 ENG @ Spectrum). However, Foresight keeps going, the red light scans the entire field, and Spectrum blinks as suddenly his ghostly body is locked in the real world. Both Pokemon glow a faint red, rendering either of them incapable of casting illusions.

Ziz takes off, doing a quick loop he picks up pace and dives at the ghost. Spectrum cringes as the prehistoric bird smashes into him, sending the ghost type toppling over, but the bird isn’t done. He roars, making the ref and DL cringe as it clamps its dark-mana fused teeth onto Spectrum and shakes his head viciously (21 DMG @ Spectrum, 6 ENG @ Ziz). Ziz bit the poor ghost so hard that his defense dropped! Spectrum grumbles, righting himself he begins to plot the enemy’s demise (3 ENG @ Spectrum).

Now for the last move, sparking wildly the ghost releases a wave of electricity that zaps the poor prehistoric Pokemon badly (16 DMG @ Ziz, 3 ENG @ Spectrum).

And here we go again, now locked in reality Spectrum goes on the total offensive, he sparks wildly and a wave of electricity once again zaps Ziz (17 DMG @ Ziz, 3 ENG @ Spectrum). The flyer roars in anger, he swoops down and slams the ghost again, pushing it towards the lake’s edge (11 DMG @ Spectrum, 3 ENG @ Ziz).

Spectrum grumbles, this enemy is fairing a little better than Tarasque. He goes for the type advantage again and blasts a pulse of water (3 ENG @ Spectrum) towards the flyer who does a magnificent barrel roll and makes the attack completely miss. Ziz roars and slams ghost again (7 DMG @ Spectrum, 3 ENG @ Ziz) and sends the poor Pokemon tumbling into the shallow waters of the lake.

Using the darkness and ghostly energies Spectrum sneakily attacks the flying type from behind (4 DMG @ Ziz, 1 ENG @ Spectrum), but regrets it when the ancient dinosaur gets it’s revenge via tail swipe to the face (11 DMG @ Spectrum, 3 ENG @ Ziz). The ghost goes *flying* into the lake, and fades away, defeated.

At the end of this round, the sun dims a little as cloud cover blows over.

Ziz, a Dragonair's a tough on to beat, but I know we can. We had River's on the ropes a while back, just keep it away from the quarry water-hole and we'll be good. Start off a Taunt to keep her attacking and using any status prevention moves, then Rock Polish to out pace her attacks, then finally Supersonic to confuse her even more. If she tries to make a break for the Water, use Pursuit to knock her back onto Dry Land. If she tires any Ice-based moves, then Bide and send the energy right back at her.

Emerging onto the field is a beautiful dragonair, she eyes her opponent and recalls him from a previous battle. Both ancient pokemon star each other down for a brief second before Ziz begins to throw insult after insult her way (2 ENG @ Ziz), however, Whiplash has already foreseen this entire scenario and how she should get angry. She silences Ziz by stating how he lost badly to a Duskull called Atripe (7 ENG @ Whiplash).

Wanting to gain the upper-hand on speed, Ziz sits on the ground for a moment and begins to shine up his appearance, helping his speed (2 ENG [@ Ziz, +2 SPD, 10% miss @ Whiplash). Whiplash decides to go defensively, summoning a faint turquoise dome around herself (4 ENG @ Whiplash, Ribbon).

Now begins the actual fight, Ziz takes off, leaping into the air he then swoops down and sends out horrible sound waves (2 ENG @ Ziz), but they do nothing! The dome around Whiplash shines bright for a moment and absorbs the confusing notes. In return, the Dragonair chuckles and sends wave of electricity at her opponent, who screeches as the attack hits home (10 DMG @ Ziz, 3 ENG @ Whiplash).

Ziz takes a seat, a faint white aura beginning to surround him (6 ENG @ Ziz). Whiplash seems to take little to no notice of the glow, and sends a thunderbolt from her to the flying type (14 DMG @ Ziz, 4 ENG @ Whiplash). Ziz roars, flapping his wings a white bolt of energy flies from to his target, and pushes her back towards the fire.(14 DMG @ Whiplash).

The ancient bird roars, and takes to the air once more, flapping his wings once again he sends a violently twister towards Dragonair, who is caught up in the horrendous storm (8 DMG @ Whiplash, 2 ENG @ Ziz). The violent winds pick up the flames and feed them, spreading hot embers and flames everywhere, while it throws the poor dragon type into a rock.
Whiplash blinks, she’s forgot what she was supposed to do!

Final moves now, Ziz uses his speed to his advantage and cries out to the rock God, the ground around Whiplash shakes and suddenly pillars of stone enclose around her (7 DMG @ Whiplash, 1 ENG @ Ziz, TRAPPED @ Whiplash). Trapped inside the dark cave of sorts, Whiplash’s tail turns to iron and she slams one of the pillars, causing cracks to appear on the once stable slab (5 ENG @ Whiplash).

The fire is quickly spreading.

We're gonna hafta take a few hits here Whip. But we're gonna give it right back.

Iron Tail the rock until it breaks, or until he Hyper Beams it and sets us free.

If we clear an opening after the first hit, then a Hyper Beam is coming out way. Eat the hit, and when its gliding along, Blizzard it. Hard. No more games, I want it dead. It'll still be alive, so then Agility. Let's play speed for speed.

If we clear an opening at the second hit, then use Agility to rocket out the hole-so Hyper Beam misses and he gotta recharge >D.

If it takes to the third hit...we'll stay inside. Not gonna fire if he dun see us right?
