Teach me something about the Safari Zone I don't know yet. There's so much to learn and I bet you know loads more then me, ancient dragon god! I need to find a new purpose.

    Round THIRTY-THREE
You approach the smartest-looking pokemon, Metang, and ask it why it seemed to be immune to the effects of the previous EMP.

    "There was an EMP?"

Curious, you become, but Mawile and Excadrill have some words for you.

"This facility is heavily grounded so that EMPs can't effect anything inside."

"Yeah -- whoever shot it off wasn't inside -- it came from out there."

Here, you will find exceptionally strong Pokemon in the various rooms and spaces of this ancient land set high in the sky. If you are lucky, you may stumble on a Legend or two?

    Round ONE SIXTY-ONE
    THE TITANS OF PLATRIN
    Yasuharu Takanashi - Girei

You ask the legendary pokemon to tell you more about the wonders of the Safari Zone, and he sounds very pleased to be able to tell you the tales, especially after selflessly protecting the throne.

"The Safari Zone is an amazing place -- impossible in most other regions in the world. You wouldn't be able to see tropical beaches so close to icy tundras in any ordinary place...

...the legendary pokemon that govern this place are the cause. The ice golems and birds -- regices and articunos -- lie dormant in the tundras and the mountains, while the fiery heatrans keeps the volcano at bay.

The Creator made the Four Dragons, and we created the legends that govern the volcanos and the lakes and the quarries. We are tameable, yes, and in such a way that we never compromise the ecosystem when captured. You see -- when one of us falls, there will always be another to replace us."

Feeling confident, you send the conveniently summoned Tweety to do battle with this large behemoth of a fighter. The off-colored bird is delighted to aid you, having quite an easy type advantage. However, the sumo wrestler doesn't look like he's budging from his position of cockiness.

With a snap of your fingers, Tweety darts closer to her opponent and squeals harshly in his ears -- creating a sound so sharp it pierces his ear drums. Hariyama is displeased and swats a few times at the bird to no avail. Tweety merely climbs higher into the air before dive-tackling him to the ground. Ouch! She pulls herself together quite well and finishes with a blade of wind that slashes his torso quite nicely.

Harry's not too pleased with this endeavor, no-no, and throws his entire body into the bird, grounding her. With a confident glare, he then strikes her with a cross chop! But fortunately for you, it didn't land critically. What a relief.

You marvel at the battle going on -- Hariyama's a tough pokemon, indeed, but Tweety's not backing down either! The emerald-colored swallow dives down from her heightened throne in the sky, tackling her opponent once more before hitting the earth below. She takes the damage well, but fails to notice that Hariyama's already pulled himself back together enough to wail on her back with thunderpunch! How dare he!?

Tweety cries out before lifting back into the sky out of range of the burly fighter. As she climbs higher into the air, her wings glow brilliantly and she dives down once more -- striking Harry with her enhanced appendages.

Harry stumbles back before slapping his palms together. His eyes are closed and his energy erupts into a certain strength that is mimicked by your bird. Both pokemon roar out as their battle prowess increase dramatically.

Your bird's already feeling the effects of the battle, but she remains vigilant. Unfortunately, Harry managed to find a large stone, and begins using said stone to bash the bird. She hits the ground harsh, but keeps herself together. Once more, she takes to the skies and power dives into the fighting pokemon with increased strength. Harry hits the ground fiercely this time and you release your grip on the found Great Ball -- hurling it at the downed fighter.

Hey, just because I expect my 2'04", 47.3 lb. bird to air taxi me around the Safari Zone doesn't make me a jerk. (Except it totally does.) Tweety, return. You've done exceptionally well today.

Professor Buggenfield, come on out. Hit that shiny Trapinch over yonder with a SolarBeam followed by a Seismic Toss!

    Round FORTY-SEVEN
Out of mercy and respect for your tiny (yet incredibly strong) bird, you replace her with the professor, who is more than eager to get out of that cramped condo of a poke ball.

You make your commands clear, and Bugg readies himself for battle. As the sun lays lazily overhead, Bugg begins absorbing its rays long enough to fire a powerful blast of energy right at the green-hued trapinch. The blast is shocking as all three pokemon stare at you. Wingull quickly flees the scene, but Dwebble remains at Trapinch's side. Looks like you've got a two-on-one going on now...

    What's your next move, Oslo?

    Issue commands.
Bring out Junior to make this a fair fight. Then issue commands.

Oslo Jr., come on out! Roll circles around Dwebble to distract him. Jeremiah, use Zen Headbutt followed by Mega Kick and then Giga Drain all on Trapinch.

Easily outnumbered, you send out Junior to distract Dwebble, making it a fairer fight. Bugg, meanwhile, protests the help, but secretly appreciates it when Trapinch summons a sudden storm of sand to overtake the beach. Unable to see very well, Bugg can barely overcome his handicap. The lightning bug shrugs before bolting forward, striking Trapinch with his massive cranium. The antlion falters before getting kicked, and then drained.

Trapinch shrugs it off before summoning a boulder to crash down upon your buggernaut. The professor cries out as the heavy rock brings him to the ground and the sandstorm slashes against his weak frame.

Junior, meanwhile, seems to be having some good luck against Dwebble -- she almost seems hypnotized by his movements.
