Still bum-puzzled about where you ought to be heading, you continue roaming about aimlessly. As you do, you pass a couple of rock formations shaped like loop-de-loops. Seriously, how the frak does something like that even occur in nature?

After a bit more roaming, you come out upon a stretch of beach. Various Pokemon are scattered up and down the coastline. They all look... quite familiar.

Their reaction is a little hard to read. On one hand, they certainly don't look upset to see you. On the other, they aren't exactly jumping up and down with joy. This shouldn't come as a surprise, though. You can't exactly imagine that you would love being put out to pasture. It might be your imagination, but you're pretty sure Marauder is receiving a couple of envious looks.

You and the Pokemon who once served as your loyal partners share a final emotional goodbye before you part ways from this place. With a graceful leap, you swan-dive from the rim of the island. The air whips against your face before Marauder swoops in and saves you. Looking back, you watch as Angel Island is eclipsed by a screen of clouds.

When the clouds at last part, the island is gone.

Marauder, who must have flown halfway across the world within the past twenty-four hours, beats his powerful wings and heads east. Everything down below becomes gradually more grey and despairing as you approach a rather unhappy corner of the Safari Zone. The sun is beginning to set as you touch down upon the arid ground. You see nary a soul around you.

However, a couple of squawks catch your attention. You turn your head and see a gaggle of Vullabys perched around an injured Gothorita. They children are Taunting the injured Psychic-type and pelting her with the occasional Fury Attack. She lets out a weary moan.

A flash of red light heralds Zentillion's return to action. The birds take one look at your giant and begin waddling away as quickly as their stubbly little legs will allow. However, one Vullaby isn't quite so fast: she trips, leaving her unable to defend herself against Zentillion's powerful Stone Edge. The Diapered Pokemon (best. species. name. ever.) is tossed into the air before tumbling back down to the ground. She only starts to clamber back up to her feet as you net her with one well-aimed Ultra Ball.

Wiggle.

Wiggle.

Wiggle.

"Thank you," Gothorita says, slowly pulling herself up. "Those nasty vultures caught me unawares. My Psychic-type attacks were useless against them. How embarrassing to be defeated by children!"

You continue to press on. The lack of identifiable landmarks makes it tricky for your to identify exactly how much distance you've put behind you, but you put one foot in front of the other nonetheless. The rare disfigured tree you pass makes you happy you weren't around when whatever horrific happenstance caused all this occurred.

Suddenly, you hear a throaty cackling noise but see nothing around you but curls of sand snagged on the breeze. Then, unpredictably, Zentillion is hoisted into the air by some unseen force. She is promptly whipped about and shaken violently. The cackling continues.

Zentillion squirms free from his captor and unleashes a trio of Ice Beams. All three of the Goletts take the hit, but the one in the middle seems to have the worst luck. Ice crystals form around his body and Freeze him solid.



The other two ignore Marauder and discard your balls. They start slamming their fists against their ally's icy prison, trying to thaw him out.

Release Harial, and he'll use Shadowball. Marauder, use Air Cutter to blow them back and Zent, keep them back with Ice Beams. I want that one to stay frozen!

You and your teammates prevent the Goletts from successfully thawing out their friend. Harial takes to the field with a flash and joins Marauder and Zentillion by hammering away at the golems with a series of powerful attacks. Just when you think you have the Ghosts defeated... they lift their ice block of an ally off the ground, raise him over their heads and begin running away with him!



For weird clay robot lookin' things, they sure are light on their feet...

Though darkness has settled, you still have a visual lock on the fleeing Goletts. Marauder kicks up a Whirlwind, which blows the two running golems clear off their feet. Their frozen friend spins through the air and falls to the ground. A chunk of ice surroundings it legs breaks off.



Suddenly, before it can pull itself to its feet, one of the Goletts waves its hand through the air. Surrounding, a heavy storm of sand swoops in over the site of this battle, entirely obscuring your vision. You have no idea where your opponents could have gone.

After everything you've gone through, you just don't have the patience for these shenanigans. Harial clears the Sandstorm with a Sunny Day which also carries the unfortunate side-effect of completely melting out your little Golett friend.

The Ghosts go on the offence. They lunge toward your Pokemon and slam at them with DynamicPunches. Your Pokemon take damage on a sliding scale: Zentillion takes quite a bit, Marauder not so much and Harial not at all. Apparently these Ghosts forgot their own immunities, proving once and for all why Pokemon should have trainers.

Suddenly, Zentillion and Marauder begin rolling around on the ground. Their brains have been fried.

With Marauder and Zentillion incapacitated, Team Golett think they have this in the bag. Your Pokemon continue rolling about like Confused lunatics as the Ghostly golems begin the self-congratulatory pats on the back. They don't seem to expect Harial to hobble up to them and erupt with a storm of fiery might... which is exactly what he does. The swell of flames encroaches upon the trio and blows them backwards.

You leap upon this opportunity and hurl the final Ultra Ball at the central Golett. The ball wiggles back and forth on the ground before a telling click signals your victory. Suddenly, you and your teammates are teleported to the front desk. Your Pokemon are by your side and the balls containing the new additions to your team sit on the counter.

"Have a lovely day," the Abra behind the counter says.

With that, I'm going to close Oslo's Ostensibly Outrageous Outings until May 1. Reffing SZ Adventchas is way too much of a fun distraction and I have so much crap coming up in the next while.
