There's been a discussion here about Ash's Pikachu and almost everyone agreed that he was male. I'd say the Butterfree he used to have is almost certainly male too. I don't know about the others, though.

yes his butterfree was male , there was an epi where it fals in love with a female , pink butterfree and rescues it
