As we enter what could perhaps be the last pairing of the battle, Chaos and Ayeun toss their Pokeballs into what has to be the most rain-soaked field in the history of the entire universe. With bursts of red light, out pop a chunky pig and a terrestrial tortoise. Can Frost help keep his Gym Leader from suffering a loss? Time to find out!
Frost begins stomping around in circles. What poise! What rhythm! Without warning, Springie casts a black, spectral hand across the field that attacks Frost in a Snatching motion. It doesn’t hurt the Torterra, but curiously, it leaves Springie feeling unusually strong.

Pissed that his beautiful dance was in vain, Frost crosses the field in one epic bound and wraps his jaws around Springie’s upper body. As the fangs bear down upon him, Springie puts some of that newfound strength to good use by prying Frost’s mouth open. Then, holding the big turtle by the jowl, he tosses Frost so that he smashes against the bridge. If Torterra tossing were an Olympic sport, I’m pretty sure Springie would have just gotten a top score.

Frost: <-19 HP; -6 EP>
Springie keeps the heat coming… figuratively, at least. A blossom of icy energy surrounds his fist as he marches right up to his opponent and clobbers him in the face. Ooh, that looked painful. Frost responds by shaking things up with a bit of an Earthquake. Springie loses his balance and lands hard against the side of the bridge as well. It’s gonna take more than that to quash porky’s fighting spirit, methinks.

Chaos’s widdle piggy keeps the fisticuffs a-comin’, clobbering Frost in the rear with another Ice Punch. Frost lets out a pained bellow before closing her eyes and concentrating. Psionic waves spread from the Torterra and begin to play tricks with Springie’s mind. She scratches his head. Something’s off.

As the rain continues to fall, Springie tries to remember what move she’s supposed to be performing. Nice Hunch? Rice Lunch? While she ponders, Frost catches the piggy in her jaws and begins to gnaw away. Mmm, undercooked bacon. Because it’s not being Countered, it’s a little more powerful than it was last time and carries the added benefit of bringing Springie’s Defences down a notch.

Without shifting a muscle, Frost continues to exert pressure with his jaws. Om nom nom.

Continue crunching, Subbing to bite should he try Tormenting/amnesia-ing us back.
Speaking of which, should Ice Punch come out of Amnesia, and he start abusing it, Re-apply Amnesia over it.

‡ Round 19 ‡
Frost appears to be playing to win as he keeps his jaws pressing down with ridiculous strength upon poor Springie. Once again, the piggy taps into some secret reserve of strength and wrenches those mighty Torterra jaws open. Holding Frost by the face, she tosses him halfway across the garden.
Suddenly, Frost begins to glow as his ability kicks in. Too little too late, maybe?
Springie: <-12 HP; -8 EP>
Frost: <-22 HP; -6 EP; Overgrow>
Once again, Frost goes om nom nom upon widdle Springie. The Grumpig once again Counters the attack and sends Frost flying toward the pond. With a splash, the Torterra—and the Gym Leader’s chances of success—are officially sunk.
And that’s the match!

Game, set and match! Admittedly, that wasn't the most exciting battle to ref (spamming super effective attacks = zzz) but such is just the way some matches go. Since the points are distributed on the grounds of this being six separate one-on-ones, Chaos gets eleven points and Ayeun gets seven. I get twelve. Chaos also receives the Golden Leaf Badge and access to the house TM, Grasswhistle, to use on one of his Pokemon.
Adios, amigos!

Sorry for the boring matches. But Ayeun just kept on sending out pokemon with 4x weaknesses. What was I supposed to do?
In any case, thanks for reffing. Although you usually do jump in on any match between Ayeun and me.
Thanks for the battle, Ayeun. And the gym badge. And the TM .
