    Okay, thanks. That is helpful. And just so I'm clear, Creeper is timed to explode during action three, right?

    Flonkey, when Psyshock tosses the bomb at you, Fling it back to their side of the field. Then, once Leo has Sketched Pain Split, use Amnesia so he forgets how to Sketch it again. Finally, once Creeper has exploded, use Fire Blast on Leo.

    Pingu, start with Hydro Pump on Psyshock. Follow that up by Protecting against the Pain Split ball. Finally, once Creeper has exploded and Flonkey has used Fire Blast, use Signal Beam on Leo. (If Leo has fainted at this point, direct the Signal Beam at Psyshock.)

    Flonkey: Fling (Creeper) ~ Amnesia (Leo) ~ Fire Blast (Leo)
    Pingu: Hydro Pump (Psyshock) ~ Protect ~ Signal Beam (Leo/Psyshock)

    ok then sketch pain split-sketch creeper-receive pain split equalizing
    and ralts is going to put a protect around itself as well as using the teleport relax-teleport-protect it will also deploy the pain split as it will be closer (it just throws it leo actvates it remotely)
    this is what i meant to happen

    Generally you should wait at least a week or two before you bump.

    It's when you make a post purely to "bump" something to the top of the forum. It's usually frowned upon, but in this particular forum, it's necessary to remind refs or other battlers about the battle.

    However, it wasn't necessary to bump this thread since it was still on the first page and it had only been three days since the attacks were made. Ash, you've gotta be a lot more patient when it comes to this sort of thing.

    Usually when I see what matches to ref, I do the ones that were waiting the longest, so this would have been next. Though I have been dithering, so I apologise. But I will get on this tomorrow.

    Round 8

    Arena
    A heavily forested mountain, pretty small, but it has a lot of stuff - large forest, dark cave filled with water and a large crater at the top, just 'cause.

    We begin this round with Oslo sending out his last Pokemon Piplup. The stage is now set for the final confrontation. Leo sets to work and paints into reality a green hissing thing. But this time, it's got a strange blue aura around it and it keeps hissing. Yeah, great. Psyshock eyes glows blue and the creeper vanishes and reappears on the other side of the field. Flonkey smirked, grabbed hold of the creeper and threw it back. The creeper flashed white a couple of times, then exploded, hurting Leo, but thanks to Psyshock's ability, he gets off scot free. Newcomer Pingu sees his chance and barrels a chuck ton of water at Psyshock...which misses. How surprising. Around Flonkey and Leo, the faint vortexes fade away.

    Leo sets to work again, this time creating a strange purplish ball. Shadow Ball? NOPE! Chuck Tes- er, Pain Split Ball. She fires this towards the opposite side, but it bounces off a strange forcefield. Well that worked. Flonkey takes his chance and using a strange psychic power, makes a connection with Leo, when it should have increased his Special Defense by 2 stages, but what do I know? The connection is abruptly cut off by another strange forcefield by Psyshock. Huh, isn't that move popular today?

    Now stuff gets serious, as Leo chills out, getting back her lost energy. Psyshock also does the same, but the opponents won't let that happen any time soon. Flonkey lets rip a large star of fire that...misses Leo. Flonkey speaks some harsh monkey, which, if translated, would have to be censored. Piplup opts for firing a pretty multi-coloured beam at Leo, which does hit, much to Leo's chagrin.

    Flonkey: Heat Wave, Energy Ball then Heat Wave... all at Leo.

    Pingu: Waterfall, Drill Peck then Waterfall... all at Leo.

    If/when Leo faints, direct those attacks at Psyshock. If either of you find yourselves in danger of some Pain Splittin', Protect.

    Hmmm how did that happen? The fling should’ve hit before the tp and psyshock was supposed to protect their side anyways, and by virtue of sketch(at least the way you say you interpret it) the pain split should’ve been thrown on turn three when no protects are issued (I wouldn’t mind the other way but you did say…)

    This is why I have absolutely no intention of ever buying a Smeargle. They've versatile and fun and everything, but they have the potential to seriously break refs' brains.

    Also, Rossy said "Psyshock will just be using Teleport, apparently, to move everything over to your side." I based my commands around this statement, so I'm not clear on why Psyshock was using moves that weren't Teleport?

    I used this post as a basis as the attacks on the bottom made it a bit more clear to me what was happening.
    And the Fling should have hit before the TP as Flonkey has a higher base speed than Psyshock, but Oslo's orders were to throw back the creeper, so Flonkey waited until it was at their side of the field.

    it could've thrown it by jumping to our side then back it is a monkey after all saying to fling the creeper just says what to fling, now if he'd said fling the creeper when it's on our side of the feild, then I could understand it (and it doesn't change the fact Pingu somehow wasn't damaged by a selfdestruct)

    I didn't say to just Fling the Creeper, though. I said to Fling the Creeper back when Psyshock throws the bomb, which places the command after Teleport. Also, Creeper is clearly listed as Egg Bomb, not Selfdestruct.

    Though I'm not sure what happened to the 25 HP you were supposed to give it.

    To be fair, your commands were pretty contradictory/garbled, so I think however Rossy chose to decipher them is legit.

    it has to be a sub or selfdestruct wouldn't do anything (damage based off of health) the tp can go into protect' (I think) and the last one doesn't matter the way rossy said he would interpret it

    You can only get one move every action, so you can only issue one attack for Sketch. You can't have Leo use Sub and Selfdestruct (and SD is higher power wise for an explosion then Egg Bomb, though if you know of a better move then let me know), so it had to do one of the other.
    Also, choosing an actual move for Sketch helps too, as sometimes I'm just not really sure what you're issuing. I admire your creativity, but you seem to expect things to go a very certain way, which causes me difficulty to select other options.

    Pingu, use Aerial Awesomeness on Leo (Aerial Ace + Aerial Ace + Aerial Ace).

    Flonkey, start Taunting Psyshock as loudly as you can so that no matter where he is he'll be able to hear you. Then sharpen your little monkey talons with Hone Claws and tear into that pesky Ralts with a Shadow Claw.

    We begin this round with Leo, the tip of her tail glowing, paints Psyshock in invisibubble paint and does the same to her. Flonkey doesn't seem to care either way and unleashes a hot wind onto the field. Although Leo and Psyshock can't be seen, they still feel its effects. However, the effect of Camouflage gave them both the rock typing, reducing the damage. Pingu attempts to remember where Leo had last been, but misses his Waterfall. Aww, diddums. Psyshock sees his chance and with a flash, teleports to a different part of the cave.

    Putting herself into a safe place, Leo relaxes. Flonkey tries to guess where Leo might be and creates a green ball in her hands. Choosing a location, she throws the ball, but suddenly a Wobbuffet appears from nowhere and reflects the attack back. Seems Flonkey can't learn Energy Ball legitimately. Pingu also tries to guess where Leo is and his beak elongates and he leaps at where Leo might be. No luck. Psyshock also wonders where Leo is and uses his psychic abilities to find her. When she is found, he goes over to her and a pink pulse radiates from her, healing Leo...at the expense of Psyshock's energy. It just becomes to much and he collapses to the floor, defeated.

    With Psyshock down, the paint drains off him, revealing to Pingu and Flonkey they've got one adversary left, who at that moment, was just chilling behind some rocks. Flonkey unleashes more heat, which still doesn't affect Leo that much. Pingu is getting bored of trying to find Leo and tries again, but still fails. Leo's having a good day today. Now that the round's over, the effects of Sketch wear off and Leo returns to normal.

    Destiny Bond will only activate on direct damage, so you're good no matter what Pingu... but I still don't like that Lunar Dance.

    Pingu, combine a speedy Agility with a Quash to prevent Leo from doing anything. Follow with a Brine.

    Flonkey, while Leo is Quashed, hit her Taunt. Follow with two Low Sweeps.

    Pingu: Agility + Quash ~ Brine
    Flonkey: Taunt ~ Low Sweep ~ Low Sweep

    (PS: I'm the only Cresselia owner here so Lunar Dance is strictly for Oslo, bitches. )

    Well, Sketch and Lunar Dance are both Status moves, and Taunt prevents Status moves, so... *lets sentence hang*

    We'll have to wait for Rossy to ref it, but assuming my plan works, Quash should allow the Taunt to work before the Safeguard.

    Round 10

    Arena
    A heavily forested mountain, pretty small, but it has a lot of stuff - large forest, dark cave filled with water and a large crater at the top, just 'cause.

    Team of Novice Ash (OXXX)
    [M][Psyshock] || [Leo][F]
    HP 55 || 23 HP
    EN 0 || 28 EN
    *Knocked Out* || *N/A*
    *Telepathy* || *Own Tempo*
    [Psychock: N/A ~ N/A ~ Psychic]
    [Leo: Sketch (Destiny Bond) ~ Sketch (Lunar Dance) ~ N/A]

    Team of Starter Ability Wielder Oslo (OOXX)
    [F][Flonkey] || [Pingu][M]
    HP 71 || 100 HP
    EN 31 || 52 EN
    *N/A* || *N/A*
    *Blaze* || *Torrent*
    [Flonkey: Taunt ~ Low Sweep ~ Low Sweep]
    [Pingu: Agility + Quash ~ Brine]

    We begin this round with Leo starting her drawing skills, creating a bond between her and Pingu. Just before she can finish, Pingu suddenly rushes towards her and grabs her, pinning her down. Leo tries to throw him off, but when he glows with a dark energy, he weighs an absolute ton. Flonkey starts shouting abuse that, if written, would have to be censored. Leo, in her angered state, throws Pingu off and charges into Flonkey. Psyshock just lies there, still out cold.

    Taunted]
    : -3% health, -7% energy; -11% energy, -0% health:
    [N/A] - [N/A]

    Leo wants to help her team-mate, she really does, but she was just too angry at Flonkey and smacks into him again. She doesn't appreciate that and trips her up using a low sweep and lowering her speed. Pingu then attacks with powerful salty water and it does quite a bit of damage. Leo gets up, but it's been a long match and she's had enough. She falls to the floor defeated.

    Wait, was Pingu damaged at all this match?

    Thanks, Rossinator. That couldn't have been easy to ref!

    And good work, Ash. Your tactics are fresh and completely out there. Keep it up.
