Round EIGHTY-FIVE
As you continue to converse with the grass pokemon, a flash of lightning overtakes the peaceful sky and a sudden torrent of rain comes down from the skies.

"This... this is part of his doing, yes," Gallon explains, while rummaging for something underneath his counter, "you must wear him down." He pulls out the something, and hands it over to you -- it's another great ball, "and then catch him with this. If you can do this... then we'll see about that vial..."

You nod in agreement, accepting the great ball. As you turn to brave the storm, you hear a ridiculously loud roaring sound coming from the outside. "Good luck, stranguh," Gallon says as you step outside with your two pokemon in tow.

The rain is heavy, but not enough to overwhelm you. The lake remains calm as the pellets of rain fall into it -- but that calm is interrupted as the largest serpentine creature you've ever seen emerges from underneath:

CHAMPION OF THE SEA

The professor steps forward, eager to show this behemoth who's boss. Jones wants to move quickly, but Bugg's ability unlocks as he swiftly shines a ray of confusion at him. This, however, seems to just enrage him more as he strikes the bug with a swift pair of ice beams.

Buggenfield reels back, but he's able to pull together long enough to fire off two successive charge beams at the larger-than-life gyarados. Jones, quite displeased, dives back into the lake and you begin to wonder what he's got up his sleeve. Almost a minute passes, and nothing happens...

...until it happens. The leviathan surges out of the water vertically. He flies through the air with amazing strength before coming down upon your tiny bug pokemon like a tower. SLAM!

That's gotta be painful.

The serpentine pokemon quickly crawls back to his lake, quite tired from that display of power.

As Jones recovers lost energy, your lightning bug takes advantage and snaps his fingers once more. Within seconds, Jones is surrounded by several blades of weakened electricity -- they slash into his scales, leaving him paralyzed greatly -- giving the professor ample time to hit him with a pair of stronger electric attacks. Jones howls in pain as the electricity surges through his body.

When it rains end, Jones glares at your pokemon angrily, summoning a torrent of dragon-based winds straight for your team. The dragon rage sweeps up Bugg quite easily, throwing him into a tree. Bugg pulls himself out of the daze, but he's assaulted with a water pulse immediately after.

You recall your damaged bug to his poke ball in favor of Tweety, who is refreshed and ready to battle. She jettisons high into the air and sails close to the gyarados, chirping in an infuriating manner. Jones is perturbed, but his body ain't doing him any favors. Tweety retreats higher into the air and stares at her adversary before diving down. As she gets closer and closer, she surrounds herself in an aura of flying energy before colliding with the sea dragon. Both pokemon hit the lake water; Jones is in a lot of pain, and Tweety barely manages to escape the waters.

Loyal to the cause, Tweety charges back towards the lake with a protective barrier around her frame. She dives into the ocean and collects the great ball just before the shield fades, and she struggles to get back up. After a few seconds, she emerges from the water and... paddles to shore, great ball in talon.
