Tremors rip through the arena as Archelon slams one of his muscled flippers against the ground, causing the otherwise graceful Skitty to uncharacteristically take a pratfall. Pulling herself up, she begins screeching and crackling with electricity. The sparks seem to have no trouble choosing between the Tirtougas as they sail through the air. Voltage rips through the turtle as the attack makes contact, causing his clonie-clone to go poof. Just like that.

With remarkable agility, Archelon assumes ramming speed and throws himself at Serah. The Rock-type tackle collides with the kitty who shows her pain and anguish by... breaking into song? Her high-pitched warbling fills the arena and sounds absolutely excruciating to everyone but Archelon who seems strangely soothed by the sound. His eyelids grow progressively heavier until he rolls over and falls asleep.

As Archelon slumbers away, he begins muttering under his breath. Suddenly, a cyclone of water materializes in front of him and beelines right toward Serah. At the last second, the Skitty does a little spin and brings four clones into existence. Two of them are decimated by the charging Whirlpool, leaving the real Serah unscathed.

Archelon lumbers toward Serah with his backside spewing water. Wait, what? This guy has access to Aqua Tail despite only having the tiniest nub of a tail to begin with? Either way, that nub is put to full use as it cracks across Serah's back, causing the two remaining clones to pop away. She compartmentalizes her conscious mind and sets it adrift somewhere far away from here. Somewhere... peaceful...

One more Sleep Talk causes Archelon to huff and puff about the arena as though he owns the joint. His cocky Swagger causes Serah to grind her teeth and get so angry that she forfeits all sense of logic or reason. Damn it, Wonder Skin... what good are you? However, anger doesn't stop her from crackling with electricity and releasing a cone of it at Archelon. His whole body goes stiff and rigid as Paralysis sets in.

Suddenly, Archelon gives a stir. He wakes, yawning as he gets ready for more.

The battle keeps on pressin' on as Serah lets out an enraged kitty-bark. A fist composed of spectral black energy leaps from her body and collides with Archelon, doing relatively significant damage. The Tirtouga lets out a wail and retaliates with a rock-hard tackle attack. Serah responds with a few choice swear words which will not be reproduced here for fear of damaging the young lady's reputation.

Paralysis kicks in as Archelon suddenly becomes a whole lot more statuesque, and not in the complimentary way. Still fighting off the bitter cocktail of rage and rage that's keeping her head spinning, Serah starts electrocuting the Tirtouga with as much strength as she can muster... and that's a whole lot of musterin' she's doing.

Confuson finally gets the best of Serah as she begins swatting at Archelon with every random physical blow in her arsenal. The Tirtouga's Rock-typing keeps the Normal-type damage at minimum, but at least she feels a whole lot more placated. With an opportunity to strike now available to him, Archelon lets off a blast of AncientPower that carries a happy side-effect. His already impressive collection of modifiers suddenly gets a whole lot more impressive.

Yeah, I dunno. I guess on one level it makes sense that a swagger would enrage someone rather than confuse them... but that kind of logic is probably misapplied in the Pogeymon world. So I don't really have a preference with whatever you choose to do with it.

Unless the 'enragement' is the aspect of being so mad you don't know what you're attacking, as in being Confused.

Aqua Jet to dodge that Thunderbolt, then use a Double Team to dodge the Shadow Ball before putting the hurt on with another Stone Edge.

With Serah closing the health differential between her and that fossilized tortoise, Archelon knows it's time to kick things into another gear altogether. The tortoise patiently watches as his opponent sizzles and sparks as she fires off a bolt of electricity from her tail. Water erupts around Archelon as he skitters across the field, narrowly avoiding the Skitty's attack by mere inches. He assumes ramming speed and clobbers Serah without mercy.

Mewing furiously (which sounds way scarier than one might think), Serah hacks up a fur ball... made of swirling shadows? Mmkay. Archelon is sent sliding backwards from the attack but doesn't bother to retaliate. He seems awfully comfortable doing nothing at all, in fact.

Mobility returns to Archelon at last as he prepares to tackle Serah... only to wind up getting smacked in the face with a Secret Power. Well, at least he resists it, right? Once again, he prepares to tackle Serah and succeeds this time. The rocky tackle makes Serah think nostalgically of the last two times he did that. Yeah. That really brought her back.

As his body prevents him from moving Serah starts Singing an unseasonal rendition of "Jingle Bell Rock" which gives Archelon a "wtf" moment before he succumbs to a "zzz" moment. Once again, he's asleep... but since he's well-rested, his sleep doesn't seem to be especially deep. The little guy wasn't even remotely tired, after all.

Serah scrunches up her eyes and performs a bad bit of hocus pocus. She taps into Archelon's subconscious brain and begins going to town on the Tirtouga's good dreams, munching away on them until nothing but bad dreams remain. Archelon starts kicking as his nightmare turns especially dark.

The snackdown smackdown occurs as Serah keeps gobbling away on Archelon's dreams. Suddenly, Archelon wakes up prematurely from his light slumber. He slams a flipper against the earth and causes the arena to shake and shimmy like crazy. Serah is tossed into a nearby wall. Curses! Turtle boy was supposed to be napping still!

We've made it! The final round! Lols for all the naysayers who didn't believe we could do it. Lols, I tell you! Lols!

Archelon and Serah stare one another down as they prepare for one final spurt of action. Panting due to low energy, Serah senses an oncoming attack and lashes out with a preemptive Sucker Punch. However, despite the high priority of this move, it's trumped by the even higher priority of Archelon's Protect. Serah's attack slams against the sea turtle's blue barrier, which leaves him free to retaliate. Bulging with energy, Archelon hurtles toward Serah and crashes against her with all the force of a tidal wave... made of boulders. The Skitty tumbles backwards, lets out a weary meow and then collapses.
