Games you ended up buying again after losing your first copy

Hi all,

Hopefully this hasn't been a necessity too much of the time for anyone here, but has anyone here ever gotten a replacement copy for a game that they lost?

For me, that's a definite yes. Several years ago (maybe a decade ago or so) I had a CD-ROM of the PC game Return of The Incredible Machine: Contraptions that I accidentally crushed under the wheels of a previous computer chair I used, and of course as some of you may recall, I lost a copy of Pokemon Silver I had (which is pretty much long gone now).

Anyway, at some point after I ruined my first copy of the PC game I bought a new copy, and as of today I have another copy of Pokemon Silver.

So yeah, were any of you guys here successful in replacing a lost game?

I've either lost or sold games from my NES, Genesis, GameBoy, GBA, Nintendo DS, and PC libraries. I've reacquired some of those games in recent months and years, such as X-Men, Toy Story, and Taz: Escape from Mars for the Genesis, Pokemon Yellow for GameBoy, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga for the GBA, and Sonic Rush for the DS. The others I either have yet to replace or just am not interested in repurchasing.

To date, I never had to re-buy a game. I guess, I just been lucky in that department.

Having lived my teenage years in a substitute family, I have had to re-buy almost every game I enjoyed there. I also have spare copies of several games and consoles.

I never lost a copy but there are many old, boxed PC games that I have which I later on ended buying once more on Steam or GOG.
