Actually, shazza, he's not a liar. He was a colonel in Air Force Intelligence and was assigned to write some codes to protect military information sharing from mainstream traffic. The codes were used in the creation of the early military and civilian internet. It was a miniscule part, but it was still a part.

People in the air force and stuff did make the internet, it was made originally for millatary uses and to comunicate with out enemys being able to pic up on it.
