Why Samurai Champloo will be either MA15+ or R18+ *spoilers inside*

I've seen ten episodes so far, and the rating debate surround Champloo is now beginning to mnake sense. Here's what issues have surfaced so far:

Episode 1 - Capital punishment and corrput politicians
Episode 2 - Seduction, attempted murder and ogres
Episode 3 and 4 - Brothels, gambling and the Yakuza
Episode 5 - The sex slave industry and erotica
Episode 6 - Homosexuality
Episode 7 - Cocaine and thievery
Episode 8 - Date rape (actually, in the reverse mode!) and con artists
Episode 9 - Marijuana and freak cults
Episode 10 - Misinterpretation of religion


So hence, Champloo is either going to get MA15+ or R18+. I think it deserves MA15+ because none of the stuff so far is too outragoeus or graphic to warrant an R rating under current standards.

Hmm, maybe this is why the Adult Swim vote is rigged...

Samurai Champloo rocks. The vote is definitely rigged, an R rating? That makes absolutely no sense. Scary movie 2, with more "inappropriate material"- homosexuality, drugs, rape, profanity, etc. than any other movie I've ever seen, was rated PG-13. MA-15 seems kinda high to me.
