View Full Version : Poll: Bring me my Weapon!

Agent Elrond

...Felt like making a poll... heh.

So:

1: What's your favorite type of weapon? (I.e. Swords, axes, bows, brick filled purse, etc.)

2: What's your favorite weapon from a movie, videogame, TV series, book, etc?

3: What is your favorite Spell of Mass Destruction? (If you make up your own, please give description.)

(Optional) 4: If you could make up a unique weapon, what would it be like?

My Answers:

1: I'm gonna say swords, they have a lot of grace and versitility, and I just like them.

2: Hiraikotsu, that's Sango's boomerang (from Inu-Yasha).

3: Hadoken, from 8-but Theatre. Simple, but effective!

4: Two small throwing axes, joined together by a long chain. They would be used rather like Kohaku's chain and scythe (again from Inu-Yasha). I haven't really founds a good name for them yet, so for now I'm just calling them axe-chucks (yo).

Cheers!

1) Katanas. Efficient yet graceful. Just drawing it is an attack in itself.

2) Shishio's Mugen-Jin from Rurouni Kenshin. That thing was sweet, a katana which you could either set on fire by slashing it across the ground or turn it into a flaming inferno by slashing it against the sheath.

3) Diamond Dust, Shiva's spell from FFX. Very cool looking

4) Basically a sansetsukon (Chinese weapon, pretty much a nunchuck with three sections instead of two) which can form into a staff, split into two nunchucks, and with sheathed blades on either end so it can become a niginata/glaive as well.

1. I like guns. Yes, they take little skill compared to melee-based weapons, but if you want to take out someone at long range (or make a complete mess of them at close range), guns are the way to go. I like the look of some of them, too. I hope I never have to use one, though.

2. I like the Gluon gun from Half-Life. It completely destroys enemies with a thick blue ray. I also like the chainsaw Ash wields in Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. One of the most original weapons I've came across (well, when he has it strapped to his arm at least).

3. I like the Bahamut Zero summon from FFVII. Bahamut fires a beam from space that does a heavy amount of damage. I'm glad Bush doesn't have access to it. lol

4: I'll edit if I can think of one...

1: What's your favorite type of weapon? (I.e. Swords, axes, bows, brick filled purse, etc.)
While a brick filled purse does sound rather interesting, I think I'm going to have to go with a sword. They're very versatile - They can be heavy and cumbersome yet pack one hell of a punch, or they can be light and swift and be used for quick swipes. I wouldn't use them to fight though, because I would rather not fight at all - I only do if I have no other option, and believe me, sometimes that happens!

2: What's your favorite weapon from a movie, videogame, TV series, book, etc?
Elbow blades. I'm talking about the weapons of choice of Talim from Soul Calibur II - I find them swift and powerful, and they can be used in a variety of different combos and tactics. They're really versatile - It seems like one of the key qualities in a weapon for me is that it's got versatility (is that even a word? O_o).

3: What is your favorite Spell of Mass Destruction? (If you make up your own, please give description.)
Oooh, I don't know. I think if I cast a Spell of Mass Destruction then it would be with a staff. I know, it's clichéd, but staffs are so cool for that sort of thing! It's have a spherical indigo globe at the top, and the staff itself would be made of gnarly wood. Its specialist spell would be something to do with water... Maybe to make it rain twice as heavily as any opponent I may face has come across, and to completely obscure their vision, so that I could focus on raising magical energy or something. Maybe I was drifting away a bit with my imagination there thuogh!

(Optional) 4: If you could make up a unique weapon, what would it be like?
I don't know. Maybe some sort of metal staff (something like Kilik's weapon from Soul Calibur II) with curved, sharp claws on each end. Then I could show off and twirl it about like a majorette and look all cool, and then when I'd finished showing off the claws would be in pristine condition, even if I'd just slayed a monster or something. That'd be amazing!

2: lol, that'll be light saber. =D

(Optional) 4: If you could make up a unique weapon, what would it be like?

1. What's your favorite type of weapon? (I.e. Swords, axes, bows, brick filled purse, etc.)

Bombs or missiles dropped from the sky. Unless you could make a bomb that would dig through the earth and obliterate the opponent from below... that'd be sweet. :D

2. What's your favorite weapon from a movie, videogame, TV series, book, etc?

The "Armoire of Invincibility" in 8-bit theatre. And if that doesn't count, that sword that heals things from that one show. (Hey, I only ever watched one episode of it! I can't be expected to remember everything about it!)

3. What is your favorite Spell of Mass Destruction? (If you make up your own, please give description.)

3: Hadoken, from 8-but Theatre. Simple, but effective!

Holy cow, you read my mind. O_O; But it's 8-bit Theatre. Typo! :P

4. If you could make up a unique weapon, what would it be like?

It would trap the opponents, then slowly squeeze them until they were the size of a small marble. (Note: The enemy would be dead by this point.) Maybe it'd be like one of those K-nex balls that would can enlarge by pulling on it (thus extending the segments)...

And Elrond, you used another 8-bit Theatre thing. Except it was sword-chucks... but it's close enough!

1. Guns.
2. I don't watch television much, and I don't know the names of many weapons in video games, to be quite honest. Most of the ones in video games are pretty cool though.
3. The instant death spell. No explanation necessary.
