View Full Version : ~*Yes or No*~ The RPG Idea Topic ....Everyone Take a Look

First let me say that all credit for the creation of this thread goes to Ginger wherever she is. It's her baby on the rpg forum and we should still remember her when using it. It was getting drastically oversized though so I felt compelled to restart it with a couple new features.

So, this is a topic for RPG ideas. How does it work? Very simple. If you have an idea for an rpg, post it here and see whether or not the idea will fly. How?

First, you post a tentative title for your RPG along with the idea and a basic summary of the plot. Then, others will post whether they like the idea or not and why they feel the way they do about it.

Hopefully, by doing this you'll be able to decide whether or not you want to go ahead posting a sign-up for the RPG. Maybe you'll even be able to work out a few problems with the idea based on feedback. Perhaps you will be able to explain why your RPG'll be a good one.

If you want to post an idea for an RPG use this form.......

Tentative Title:
Basis: (basic idea for the world)
Genre:
Characters Needed: (what kind of beings need to participate)
Basic Plot: (basic idea for the story)

While your own idea, please comment on those of others.....All feedback is good.

Now for the new features. Previously this topic was left alone to grow and grow and grow into infinity. Now, it will be read and monitored. Ideas won't be left in here forever. Ideas will be left here untouched for two months. After two months, the idea and all posts related only to that idea will be pruned to save space. The idea here is that everyone should save their own ideas.

Tentative Title:Legend of the MAGI
Basis:Final Fantasy Legend 2(Aka SaGa 2)
Genre:Heroic Journey
Characters:Humans, Mutants, Monsters and Robots
Basic Plot: MAGI, the legendary 77 pieces of the Isis statue that are the legacy of the ancient gods who made all the worlds, able to bestow great power unto those who use them, turning them into new gods. Huge wars have been fought over them, entire civilizations have been made and died thanks to them.
Once, a group of brave adventurers assembled all the pieces together, making the statue of Isis, and saving the worlds from the destructive imbalance that the new gods brought about. But, in time, people's memories faded, they forgot the dangers of this power, and sought the once again scattered pieces of MAGI to make new gods once more.
You are one of the denizens of a small village at the end of the chain of various worlds. One day, the peace of your village is shattered by minions of a god, hoping to get MAGI for him, thus you are propelled into an adventure, bearing the town's treasure, a MAGI that can detect other MAGI.

Tentative Title: Return of the Pantheon
Basis: Greek, Egyptian, and Norse Mythology, with a little extra myth from elsewhere.
Genre: Action/Adventure, Comedy, maybe some Romance later on... Mystery too, I guess.
Characters Needed: Several teenagers, gifted with the powers of the Gods.
Basic Plot: You're just a normal teenager, living in the city of Otakun, population fifty-seven thousand. It's a pretty peaceful city, on the western coast of the USA. To someone your age, it is the epitome of boredom.

Well, that's all about to change...

Your high school is taking a field trip to the local historical museum, the principal going on in his usual drone about the wonders of the ancient Mesopotamians. You and a group of other students, less than enthralled, manage to sneak off into the mythology wing. There, among all the depictions of ancient gods, you find in an ignored corner an obsidian orb. It's covered in strange markings, and surprisingly isn't in a case. One of you touches it, and a bright light flashes, blinding you all momentarily.

When you regain your sight, the orb is gone. Thoroughly freaked out, you quickly slip back into the main group of students, who are returning to the buses that will take them back to school. You get out of school go back to your homes, not suspecting that your life is about to change...

The next day, you wake up to quite a shock. You are no longer yourself. You have, somehow, transformed into a completely new person. Quickly, you call your friends, and they give you similar stories. You all convene at one of your houses, trying to figure out what's happened to you. Some of you are even beginning to notice that you have strange new powers. The motley assembly is about to erupt into chaos when another bright light shines from the middle of the room.

When the light fades, standing in the middle of the room is a young girl dressed in a school uniform, smiling at you all. She introduces herself as Gaia, and says that you have been gifted with the powers of the Gods. The Gods have, apparently, died out over the ages, and the evils they once kept at bay are now stronger than ever. Gaia is one of the last of the Gods, the other remaining ones being Isis, Hades and Odin. She tells you that she has come to train you and prepare you for the impending tide of evil.

With that, you begin to learn of your new powers, and soon unravel a plot that encompasses more than any of the Gods suspect...

And just because I already have it written...

Kalad: with the right group it'll make a great rpg. It probably sounds so familiar because it is close to verbatim from the FF game you based it on. I'd work the plot a little more to lower the similarities. Otherwise, good luck with it.

Krystaline Kabutops: Love the idea but I can't help but think it looks familiar. Did you try this idea before? If you did, sounds like it's time to give it another go. Hopefully this time you'll get enough of the right people to make it work. Great as it is.

Tentative Title: X Pokes something or other...
Basis: Kanto.
Genre: Action, adventure, maybe romance, but I doubt it.
Characters Needed: different type of pokemon, all totally new and no way related to the others..
Basic Plot:

Sitting silently in the echoing glass tubes filled with a lime green liquid, were creatures, Un-recognized by anyone, un-named by any man. They were left alone to sulk in they’re own misery, and they’re past lives, and they’re own thoughts. No sound came from them, hardly a heartbeat remained, of once were very lively and happy children.

The sky was just turning a bright golden color when a mysterious man entered the white lab on the island. His eyes were a deafening dark brown, his hair a long black, skin very pale. But wore black clothes, and a long trench coat to make himself appear more intimidating.

Stopping in front of the creatures, he smiled, as each creature silently hoped for a new word. They’re thoughts running through his mind… He was no Telepath. He was a powerful Empath, the power to use emotions and eventually hear thoughts, he had used his power to get this far in his plan.

But as he looked one creature up and down, the one on the far right began to stir. Shaking its head violent, eventually crashing it into the side of the tube. A light “thump” sound was heard, as in a shocking turn of events the creature opened its eyes. And focused them on the Man.

“Anger…” the Man said, turning away from the creature and walking by the lowly scientists. “How could they hold so much anger against me? they wanted a new life…” He sighed, as a orange and green helicopter landed in front of him, he turned to the scientists. “Goodbye.”

In the scientists looked through they’re glasses, and watched, in complete amazement, as the other creatures followed the first. Waking up, and eventually using they’re unknown strength to start to crack the glass.

“Get out of there!! We’re locking it down!!”

It was two late for the scientists who were caught in the lock down, the angry creatures, consumed by hatred, and misery, destroyed them, ripping them again, leaving body parts every where. The creatures, unscripted by any documents, not seen by any alive, expect for the few that fought to keep them contained. Were alone, only trusting each other, and no human.. they were left to survive and solve they’re problem…

-Miles away on Main Land-
“Sir..”
“Yes?”
The room was dimly light by the one lamp that stuck out in the corner, the same mysterious man sat at the desk, his feet on his desk. Devious Brown eyes hidden behind black shades, his gaze was focused on the cowardly man in front of him.
“The… Creations.. Have..”
“Broken out, like expected.”
“But… They’re Generation-“
“X.”
“What will Trainers think?”
“They’ll think new legendary pokemon have returned… What else?”
There was a silence, after years of creation, and failure, they had finally done it. They had finally created and Perfected the Pokemon Generation. They had created…
X Pokemon…

I was going to make a story on this idea... might as well see if an RPG would be good too.

Tentative Title: Faith
Basis: Modern Day - with references/roots back to Ancient times
Genre: Adventure, Romance, Mystery, Action (A modern RPG with a fantasy twist. )
Characters Needed: I'll give the RPG more freedom than what my story puts forth. lol. But we'll need humans, generally college students or a few older high school students from one place in America and once place in Europe. (In other words, if you're living in America you'll be from the same place as the other people living in America.) I'll allow a few foreign exchange students to each as well.
Basic Plot:

Long ago, in ancient times... two twin angels were created by God- Devidar and Nevika.

The male twin angel. He was created by God to create miracles, not too later after Adam and Eve gave birth to their first son. He lived an immortal life, disguising himself as a human (as soon has human population became great) and went about forming miracles for God's followers when they weren't looking. Eventually however, he fell in love with a human and claimed her. He was apparently happy and turned his back upon God, ignoring his duties and completely giving his attention to his family. However, his wife soon died and his one child had left to travel the world. Defeated and utterly alone, he soon went and confessed his ignorance to God. Instead of punishing Devidar, God freed the Angel of Miracles and allowed him to rest from his duties in heaven.

Then, there was the female twin angel - Nevika. She was created at the same time as Devidar, but instead of creating miracles she created tradgey when God needed it for his greater plans. She too, went about the world disguised as a human and she did the bitter work of creating sadness. It was in this way, that people found their inner selves or found their true purpose in life for God's bigger plans. Nevika never saw Devidar except upon creation, and they were to never meet because of their opposite motives. They could still feel each other because of their twin bond. When Devidar stopped creating miracles for a time, great tragedy consumed many parts of the world. For this, Nevika was saddened and she too stopped her own work. As soon as Devidar claimed the human and created another human life, she felt a rise in his powers and thus another unbalance tilted the other way. She then found a suitable human as well, and allowed herself to be claimed by him. They too gave birth to a child, and Nevika did not abandon her duties but instead abandoned her family and child. Because of her absorbance in her duties and pity, God freed her from her tasks as soon as he had freed Devidar and allowed her too, into heaven.

The legend of the Angels of Devidar and Nevika were unheard of. No one who aided to write the bible had ever been told by God or had seen Nevika and Devidar at work. Thus, their legacy was forgotten. However... it was soon to be discovered by the most unlikely source.

Eventually, a huge event will take place when a few students from Europe meet the students from America in a choir concert. This event... will change lives forever. It will lead the characters upon a journey- a journey to discover the legend, and go on a journey to try to solve a hidden secret about the two twin angels. Through this journey, relationships will be discovered, myths and truths will be revealed, and ultimately one thing will be decided.

Does fate truely condemn those to their purposes? Or if you're strong enough... do you carve your own purpose?
Yet... if the later can be true, the only way is if you're faith is strong enough to defy fate itself.

And fate... can be unforgiving.

On a side note, there will be a twist in this RPG other than the plot line. Everyone will sign up as a student- but each character will have an important role. Some will have more important roles, but this will be selected by me based on the character and upon the RPGer's history. I will PM their other info, and they will decide when this 'information' about their character will be revealed.

Tentative Title: [still working on it...]
Basis: Digimon, first season. No made-up digimon, no elements. Just...basing off the first season.
Genre: Action, Adventure, and Fantasy...as well as whatever is blended into the mix.
Characters Needed: 8 children/teenagers just randomly pulled into the Digital World. No destiny, nothing.
Basic Plot:

Between the physical and digital realms...knowledge was confusing. Whilst the digital inhabitants had knowledge of the physical world, the mortals of the other realm had no information on the existance of the Digital World. This, by the Digimon, or Digital Monsters, which inhabited the digital realm, was considered true harmony of the universe. But as karma goes, every perfection has its flaw. A "seed" of dark energy managed to take root between the worlds, and flourished, to this day still growing with power. Beneath it's demonic aura existed a Digimon composed of sin, Myotismon. With his origins, he began his one mission: to make both worlds a mortal hell.

...Of course, every evil has a cure. This, however, laid within stones of mystical power, believed to have been born from the eight traits of personality that one could have to live a pure life: Courage, Friendship, Love, Knowledge, Reliability, Sincerity, Hope, and Light. Seeing that the power of these stones could weaken him, he scattered many of his denziens around the areas of these "crests", the population still increasing. As destruction reigns, eight mysterious machines called the Digivices were sent through the barrier into the physical realm. The cause? To bring eight random children into the Digital World in order to purge the darkness.

~~~~~
It's the year 2005, summer...normally a time of fun, but the miserable area of Texas considered a town you live in is practically the epitome of boredom. You have pretty much fallen victim to this plaguing problem, but somehow...things will turn aroudn just before you know it. Without warning, the sky turns the bleak color of lead, a chilly gust blowing through the air. With that, inevitable rain falls, making the scene rather ominous now. But it becomes queer indeed, only with how a device suddenly falls into your hand. Unlike any you've seen, you embrace this "thing" of color and continue forward, somehow passing out.
Awakening, you're no longer in the pit of your residence. Instead, you're not even in the physical world at all. Shocked, you encounter seven others, familiar or not, as well as a creature claiming to be your ally "Digimon". With their guidance, you learn your supposed purpose...in hopes of saving your world and your life...
Thus, reservations...
Courage ~ me/Jonathan "Gabe" Gabriel
Friendship ~ me/Laura Deirdre
Knowledge ~ The Muffin Man/Tycho Brahe
Reliability ~ The Muffin Man/Mike Silvern
Kikyo: it's been a while since a decent Digimon rpg came along. Good to see it returning to it's simple roots. When you have specific elements or characteristics required for each character though, having five of them reserved (a couple of the best in my opinion) before you even post a sign up topic is not a very good way to recruit. Checking out the rpg and seeing someone elses form posted with the element you wanted might encourage a person to pick the next element. Checking out the rpg and seeing the element you want taken when no one's even put in a form is likely to turn them away entirely. A lot of what makes rpg's so fun for most of us is choice and when you've eliminated over half the choices you present before anyone's technically signed up for it.........
A side note for this thread: This topic isn't meant to be used for making reservations in anyone's rpg. This topic is meant to be used for people to get feedback on their ideas and to see if there is enough support to post it. In the future, only ask for a reservation in an rpg by PMing the creator or posting in the actual sign-up thread.
Kalah: when are any of your RPG ideas bad? Sounds great! I remember a mildly similar rpg you tried a long time ago and it was great too. I think this one could work out if you decide to go ahead with it. Looking forward to the fic and maybe? the rpg.
Crystal Tears: X-Poke was one of many rpg's I was sad to see die before it really got going. I wish I could remember what type of x-pokemon I played back then cause I would love to revive it for this RPG if you go ahead with it. I say great as is.
Title: I haven't thought of one yet.
Basis: from the depths of my dark mind
Genre: Comedy and a bit of Fantasy
Characters Needed: 6 elemental demons and high school students.
five hundred years ago, the world was experiencing a time of terrible fear and suffering. This is because of six demons who roamed the world, spreading chaos and fear wherever they went. Each represented the six forces of nature: fire, wind, water, earth, light (believe it or not) and darkness. These demons used everything in their power to cause mayhem. Burn down buildings, killing random people, knocking on people’s doors and running. It certainly was a harrible time to be alive. However, these six demons mysteriously dissappeared. Many rumours sprung up involving their dissappearance. Some say that they were slain by a demon hunter, while others believe they just got bored and went home. Whatever it was, the human race could now enjoy peace and the demons soon faded from history.
But now, the day that anyone who knew of the demons would have feared is finally here. They’re back! But this time, the demons are doing something that could be both good or bad for the human race…
…They’re being sent to school (Thought it was something dramatic didn’t you?)!
The bad thing is that all six demons are attending the same school, which could mean chaos for everyone within a ten kilometre radius (or maybe not. Hard to tell).
But now only one, er, two questions remain. How will the school survive their new demon students? and how will the demons survive their new school? Only time has the answer, and may God have mercy on us all.
Tentative Title: I Don't know >_< Any ideas would be welcomes.
Basis: Well, its from my mind. And probably to much FF has influenced it.
Genre: Fantasy/ Sci fi
Characters Needed: Warriors to fight the Blood Clan. Peferably one of each type.
Basic Plot:
“Yes General Yoto. The Rebel Armies have fallen. The Fields are yours once again.” The fields that which the Captain spoke of, were the Fields of which great and powerful warriors once fought for the freedom of Sias. Sias was they’re home, and they wanted to protect it from all evil, but as age, and time caught up with them. They fell, one by one. .
The Clans of which surrounded the fields had always disagreed with each other, saying that the fields belong to them, and no one else. They fought, and fought over the green grass lands until patches of the grass, fuelled by blood, and hatred, turned red, A Red color that reflected the countless numbers of innocence’s that had spilled upon them.
For a time, the Clans stopped the wars, because of the tainted land, for the fear of if they were to continue, the grass would be a blood portal for the ancient evil to travel. But as 2000 years passed, and no evil monsters came through. The wars sprouted up once again, but with more powerful weapons, Airships, machines. It would seem that everyone had forgotten the old way of life.
This brings us to the present state of Sias. Yoto. A tyrant and overwhelmingly powerful General. He now rules over 3 of the 7 clans of Sias, and is even going as far as taking the Fields away from the 3 remaining clans. But as he does this, the fields are being stained with blood, and more then just the Inhabitants of the Clans are being upset.
Buried deep below the fields, is a city, empty, and deserted, this city was once a great monument to all of Old Sias, but they did what the General is now doing, and the ancient powers of Sias buried them, to forever drown in they’re owns sorrows, and to protect the fields from the same happening.
Slowly, and surely, the lights of the city are turning back on, preparing for the 7th day of war on the fields. For that is when it will rise up from below, and reveal that there is one army, no one can defeat….
Dear (Enter Name Here),
It has come to our attention that General Yoto, leader of the now, newly Formed Clan Blood. Has declared war on the three opposing Clans left to fight for the freedom of the fields.
As you may or may not know, We are on short supply of warriors, and we have noticed that your Tage has trained you well enough to fight on your own.
This letter is to inform you that you are now a warrior of the Clan Shadow. Which is made up of the remaining 3 clans that are not under ruthless control of Yoto.
You are to fill out the Form below, and report immediately to the pick up point, which is a bit south of God’s Tower. Be careful, as there are rumoured reports of Yoto’s men patrolling the path there.
Goodluck.
Signed,
General Arc
You blink in total confusion, yes your Tage(trainer basically) had recently let you out of training grounds, but you were not fit for fighting a whole war, how could they do this to you? Your not even part of the war, and already you and your family are being dragged into it.
You sigh to yourself, and look at the rest of the forms, there are ‘Types’ of warriors listed underneath, all of which are equally important. Another long sigh, and you start to fill out the form below…
The Types are as Fallowed:
Arch-Mage: Focused purely on the ancient ways of war, the Arch-Mage relies not on technology, but the 4 spirits of Sias. Earth, Wind, Water, Fire. As time progresses, more advanced and secluded Spirits come into play. Such as Dark, Light, Thunder. At the most advanced sage, an Arch-Mage can even call forth the powers of which are not naturally his to control. Such as Death, or Life.
Summoner: Unlike the Arch-mage, the Summoner has two main areas where he or she excels in. Summoners though weak in mostly ever type of magic, can do one thing no other type can. And that is summon Beings from beyond. Though weak at first, and almost completely useless, the Summoner can also use the Spirit Life right off, instead of earning it.
Gunner: Gunners have to be the most versitial Type out there. The ability to watch and learn, allows them to eventually become a Arch-mage, or even a summoner if they trained hard enough. Though weak with a Staff, the Gunner can basically use any weapon like fires a object. (Like a crossbow)
Hacker:Though physically weak, and most of the tim emotionally unstable. The Hacker can be a very powerful Ally. Seeing as he or she can bi-pass security systems, crash mother computers, and even turn the Blood Clan’s Machines against them, the Hacker is as equally power as a well trained Arch-Mage. Unlike the Gunner though, Hackers can’t learn to Summon, but can excel very quickly in magic. (There’s nothing better then a Hacker that can shoot a fire ball)
Pure Warrior:The and only true warrior, This Warrior uses stealth, staffs, and the tradition Death Spirit to fuel its power. They are very cunning, and very talented with learning more and more Death Based Spells. Though they hate technology, they can learn basic driving and hacking skills. But have the hardest time with guns.
Pilot Fighter: Though very flexible, and can learn many other tricks, these people have chosen to drive the infamous Vehicles of Sias for they’re power. Equiped with basic Hacking knowledge, and how to use a gun. This Type is very powerful when inside a any type of machine. Rumor has it they can even pilot the new BlackBird with ease.
Tell me what you think please. If enough people Like it, I will start it. After I get a frickin Title..
Tentative Title: The Truth of Balance.
Basis: A collection of ideas
Genre: High fantasy
Characters needed: Experienced warriors and sorcerors willing to walk face first into the relatively unknown.
Basic Plot:
In ages long past, I made this world, placing within it, the gods, with their dragon servants, the demon lords with their hordes, and man, the wild card, bearing no allegience. They were the fulcrum, the chaos in the middle that kept the pattern flowing.
But then there was the clan of balance, those that sought to aid and were hated and feared for their abilities, which were not magic and made them immune to the direct application of such. They hid where few others would not go and gods and demon lords, as well as their minions, could not go.
But now has come the time for the world to see balance, the truth within it, and the change it will bring to the world. And these people, these so called "Adventurers" shall make it all happen, gaining the powers of balance and bringing the knowledge to the world outside...
This is just an idea I've had, and i've not put a great deal of thought into an actual plot yet, but I see it as a chance to be wild and nasty for a change, instead of questing to save the world. Basically, it's set in a prison, a high tech prison, where the occupents are pokemon, convicted guilty of the worst types of crimes. Arson, murder, rape, tourture, stuff like that. They wear inhibitors, that completely disable their elemental abilities. A psychic pokemon cannot use psychic abilities, a fighting type can punch, but not with the force or strength of it's normal attack. Basically they become utterly normal, without any abilities.
Then, a handful form an unlikely and very thin allience, in order to escape. Much backstabbing, murdering NPCs, stuff like that. Should they get out, what happens on the outside is left to the RPGer's imagination.
Razor_Leaf: An idea after my own heart. Everyone plays a villain with little to no moral inhibitions. Not sure I'd do it as a pokemon rpg but I would definately love to see the prison escape rpg. A suggestion on the inhibitors, they should prevent special attacks (ie could still punch, kick, tackle but not do double kicks or elemental attacks) and limit the characters strongest abilities (ie a super strong character would be brought down to normal strength, fast made slow, strong-willed made docile, etc). Please work it out and do this rpg! It's fun to play a bad guy once and a while!
Tentative Title: Arcanum Resurrectio
Basis: Tarot
Genre: Adventurous Journey
Characters Needed: 12 Characters, one for each Astrological Sign
Basic Plot:
When the Universe was created, Light and Darkness fought against each other. Then the creator decided, after eons of war, that they were of equal importance and required such balance. The soul of Light was given to the human spirit, knowing that it would be forced into seclusion by the subconscious; the essence of Darkness was locked deep within the energy of a sacred Tarot ritual. In these forms, nobody knew anything of their presence in the universe, let alone on a single planet.
That is how the ancient stories go.
The cards used for this ritual were locked within demons and monsters of every kind. This made it nearly impossible for any person to unlock the destructive power of Darkness from the gathering of the deck. And with the, although superior yet, lackluster mind of mankind, Light’s holy greatness was locked deep within the id.
But one man rose above them all. He was a Shaman from the east, a rather distinguished man in all his practices. In a study of ancient scriptures, he recalled the war and seclusion of Light and Darkness, yet the story he discovered was different from the myths and tales told in the day. It described of the worlds destruction when all 78 cards were shuffled together. This intrigued the Shaman and increased his interest in finding one. Now that he knew of them, it was easy for him to sense them with his Shamanistic aura.
Through an arduous duel with a Chimera, it was finally slain by his skills. As a reward, his soul was both blessed and cursed by the power of the Judgment card; the eternal rebirth of a now tainted soul.
With his newfound life, he craved more. By the time he could no longer travel under the influence of his still aging soul, he had fought and obtained all 38 Major Arcana and Court cards. Although he was still dragging himself about, the Shaman went into seclusion to live until the end of his eternal days. With the Shaman’s legacy placed into the fable around Light and Darkness, all that could be done was to believe or disregard all of it...
Several millennia in the future, the stories have fallen from society but are still known by most from the telling of bedtime stories and in clique that still believe in Light, Darkness, and the Shaman. Even YOU know it! And, unknowingly, are pulled into its legacy.
In a dream one unsuspecting night, an omniscient calls to you. "I am Xyn (Zin), brother of Erebos. His power has grown too strong from the cards. You must collect the rest to defeat my brother and spread the cards so the devastation of Darkness can never be released upon the universe again." You feel restlessness as the voice booms deeper in your fantasies. "The spirit of the Stars is strong in you. You need not search for the cards, as they will come to you as you venture to the Forbidden Lands of the Keres. There, you will meet Erebos. I will assist you on your journey to the full extent of my weakening powers. Please..."
The voice drifts away and you are left with the lingering sensation that you must go...
Tsukasa: Sounds excellent and unique, it sorta seems like a card-collecting RPG in some sense with the cards[and havign to get them away from Erebos]. I'd love to join it and can't wait to see how this one turns out. Journeying-RPG's are always fun.
Tentative Title: N/A
Basis: Digimon
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Characters Needed: 8 children/teenagers randomly chosen to be the Digidestined.
Basic Plot:
In the beginning, the digital and physical realms were separated by an unknown celestial force. This force was composed of the eight main elements that preserved order in the worlds: Fire, Ice, Wind, Electricity, Water, Forest, Holy, and Light. Eventually, the Digimon(Digital Monsters) that inhabited the digital realm took these eight elements and designed stones, the crests, to connect each element to a character trait that kept signs of a good life. These crests were Courage, Friendship, Love, Knowledge, Reliability, Sincerity, Justice, and Light.
Of course, in every serenity there is a storm. Around the new millenium on Earth, a "seed" of darkness was planted into the digital world. Over time, it took root and the "dusk of the Digital World" shortly began. What was born from this growth of evil was a new Digimon unlike any before, Myotismon, which originated from a simple discarded virus created by hackers in the physical world.
This virus, however, established a connection between the physical and digital worlds. And in a storm of destruction, the crests lost some of their power. However, this power was scattered across the world into the eight purest teenagers found. What was hidden in the power was a core which when activated in transfer to the Digital World, altered the physical appearance of the child in some way.
------
Summer 2005. Your time off from school was supposed to be filled with adventure, but instead was a boring hell. What you don't realize is that you are one of the eight implanted with data, and an adventure of a lifetime was about to occur. Deciding to give up for the rest of the afternoon, you head home to get the mail and do whatever possible.
Heading inside, you set down the bills, magazines, and other common junk, until you come across a letter without a return address, marked to you. Seeing it as odd, you open it and manage to stumble across a small device unlike any other. Even more bewildered, you pass out.
Awakening, you realize that you're now outside, not even near your home, perhaps not even in your world. You find yourself complaining of an uncomfortable feeling, and then you come across two things: a weapon, and a creature unlike any before. They speak to you, telling you why you're here, why you experienced physical change, whatever question must be answered. And then you meet up with seven others who have those same complaints. Feeling that this was your duty to save both realms from the plaguing darkness of Myotismon and his denziens, you and your allies set forth, out into the open.
Basis: My own idea, some from hack, FF's, and Matrix
Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci Fi, Fantasy
Characters Needed: One 'Hero' so to speak of each class. (Archer, Heavy Blade, Heavy Axe Man, White Mage, Black Mage, Twin Blade, Shinobi, Street Fighter, Gunner) To go and defeated the Virus.
Basic Plot:
System 2000: FFxTreme
The room was dimly lit by the small flickering lights, a large sphere-like room with a floating panel in the middle. As the lights soon stopped and floodlights focused their gaze, ten teenagers, all very different, were hooked up to menacing looking chairs; a weird headband was constantly sending sparks through their temples, delivering them information. But the scene was dim and dull. As they sat there, their minds in another place, their bodies twitched as a sharp needle-like object attached to a tube was jabbed into the back of their heads. The sounds, smells, and feelings of the real world disappeared...
A young woman appeared in front of them with long, blue hair, large elf ears, a beautiful blue silk dress, and pale gray eye that seemed to send a calming sensation, yet she was of pale skin.
“Welcome...” she began, her voice kind and gentle as light gathered around the bodies of the children. As her figure started to fade, her voice remained and echoed deep into their minds, “...to System 2000…”
But as the voice fades, the world around the teenagers appears, just like reality. They sighed, but suddenly, everything shifted, and the world around them flashed, becoming distorted...
“Mufufufu,” a giant winged dragon roared, crashing through a building. But defying the rules of the game, the bits and pieces that should of fallen hovered there, frozen in time. “Ahaha! I’ll trap you here too,” he roared again, even louder than the last, his red scales shining so brightly that people found themselves covering their eyes. “YUTA!”
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
You couldn’t believe it... You stared at the television screen in awe as the news had just been released. The new virtual reality game, “System 2000: Final Fighters Xtreme,” which was the sequel of the highly adored game, "System 1000: Fighters Xtreme,” had been cancelled. This was due to a virus that had infected the BETA servers.
Sighing heavily to yourself, you turned off the TV and looked down at your PS2. The cover of FxTreme was covered with anime characters that captured the imagination of the players, allowing custom characters that it would convert to anime for them. FxTreme was the best game of 2010 and now, in 2013, its highly anticipated sequel, which you had been planning on buying ever since the news of it coming out, had been cancelled due to the infamous "YUTA Anti-Virus" not doing its job.
“Oh well...” You sigh to yourself until your computer (or laptop) blinks on. Confused, you walk over to it. Suddenly, your computer announces, “You Have Mail,” with a small mail sign.
Opening it curiously, you are stunned when you find out that the email is from Naki Inc., the very founder, creator, and distributor of FxTreme. You quickly open it, although nervous at what exactly it was going to say.
Dear [Enter Name Here],
We, of Naki Inc., are pleased to announce that we have noticed your earnings in the latest gaming competition held late last September. Seeing as you are the best the world has to offer, we have a request for you:
Despite our best attempts re-configurations, it stays and has become a part of the game. We require you to play through the game and rid it of the virus, seeing as how it follows the basic principles of the game.
Title: One wierd Oddesy (If you've got a better title I'd like to hear it).
Basis: Inspiried by 'Abe's Oddesy' (that game is so cool).
Genre: Adventre, Comedy, some action.
Characters needed: Some of the wierd inhabitants of Terra.
Basic Plot:
“The planet Terra. It’s big, it’s round, and it’s without a doubt the wierdest place in this galaxy, at least, that’s what an old Joulin tought me. And after the events that happened just a few months ago, I’m starting to believe that guy. By the way, my name’s Sparc, a Macras bounty hunter and narrator to this tale in which I played a huge role in. A huge, GIGANTIC role!
…Okay, so it wasn’t that big.”
“Just get on with the story Sparc.”
Who are you, my mother now?”
“No. Just someone who’s afraid you’ll bore all the people to sleep before telling the story.”
“Okay, okay. Anyway, it all began when I was walking along the outskirts of Gamma Sigma, the biggest mineral mine and power plant on Terra. I wasn’t allowed to be on the grounds after a certain incident a year back (I have a flare for property damage, so sue me!). I had heard a number of rumours about the place. That the Mechani that ran it used Macras like me as slaves, and that a number of wild animals had been seen being taken into the plant for some unknown reason. Of course, I haven’t checked into these rumours myself. Anyway, I was walking along the outskirts, minding my own business when some crazed woman ran into me. She seemed scared out of her mind and ranting something about experiments and stuff.”
“I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that.”
“Anyway, If I had known what was going to happen next, I would have fled for the hills, changed my name, and pretended I had never seen said psycho chic.”
“I'm not a psycho!”
“But, I didn’t. And as a result, we (me, her and a number of others) were thrown into an adventure that would reshape Terra as we knew it.”
Title: Echoes of the World: Dark and Light
Genre: Adventure/Action, suspence, some horror.
Basis: Loosely based on Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Characters Needed: 6 "Portal Keepers".
Plot:
Aether, the one planet that no one dare lands on...few have survived the planet, and why it flashes blue and purple is unknown..save the humans that have made a living there. How they live in harmony, is not known.
But the planet has a secret, closely guarded by the race of the "Portal Keepers", those who can open portals freely and go to another location, and time almost instantly to the normal human. The secret that the Portal Keepers hold dear is that one fatefull day, a huge chunk of the mutanious element Phazon hit the planet, and caused a diemensional rift between the Light Side and the Dark Side of Aether. Ever since, humans from both sides have been seperated for centuries.
The Light Side is peacefull, not threatened by evil forces such as Space Pirates, who have constructed an underground military base there, but it remains hidden. Humans in settlements in the Light Side live in perfect harmony, and have everything they need when they need it.
The Dark Side is a whole other ballgame. Storms of unimagineable magnitudes tear up the once beautifull landscape, and forcing the humans who live there to devolp sheilds that protect the precious settlements from being harmed. The air itself of Dark Aether is deadly to the touch and mouth when breathing. So, just standing in Dark Aether can be fatal. The humans have set up many sheilds so they can stray from their settlements to find what little they can find among the dark surface. Even so, forces of pure darkness like the Ing, who have evolved to survive without the protection of the sheilds. They can even breath the air, and their appearence is as twisted as the landscape itself, disolving into darkness when threatened and change their appearence into more twisted forms.
The Portal Keepers have been trying to keep both sides as safe as they can be.
They make sure the secret is kept safe, so no human knows the true nature of the "world" as it stands. Even though, more Portal Keepers have been found among the normal humans as young as 5 years old. Lately, more mutations of the Ing have evovled, becoming more twisted with every time they absorb the Phazon from the impact centuries ago, and can now go to the Light side and possess beings. With more of them and more Portal Keepers becoming Ing after entering Dark Aether or getting possessed, the Keepers have found 6 "special" Keepers, 3 from the Dark Side, 3 from the Light side. After a couple strange occurances, they are sent to the only place where the 2 worlds meet, the World Temple, they were given staffs, each end was decorated with material from both worlds, one end was labeled "DARK" and the other "LIGHT". After being tought to focus their power to repel foes and being taught to open portals, they where sent to the Light World to begin the hunt for Ing, and the elusive and canny Space Pirates, who continute to plauge both sides.
If the Ing are not defeated and the Space Pirates destroyed, peace will become no more than a dream..and destruction of Aether inevitable.
The fate of Aether is in their hands.
Tentative Title: I'll take suggestions from you guys.
Basis: Digimon (primarily the first season), with some influence from the Legend of Zelda series (mostly Ocarina of Time. lately, I've been hooked on that game)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy.
Characters Needed: 20 children chosen by the Digidestined. 10 taken under the celestials, the other 10 taken under the Dark Lord, Myotismon.
Basic Plot:
From the beginning, life in the world was composed of the ten basic elements: Fire, Ice, Wind, Thunder, Water, Wood, Light, Spirit (a sub-light, in a sense), Earth, and Metal. Many cultures had adopted various elements and decided to use them as guidance to life. But predominately, this took place in Japan, where there was a priestess named Tsukiko, and a samurai, Yoshimitsu, who dedicated their lives to being th sole guardians of the elements. Through alchemy, crests were designed based on a suited element: Fire and Courage, Ice and Friendship, Love and Wind, Knowledge and Thunder, Water and Reliability, Sincerity and Forest, Hope and Spirit, Light, Kindness and Earth, and Miracles and Metal. Three angels from the Sacred Land(Digital World), claiming to be the Celestials, recognized the duo for their work and sealed the crests within an orb containing their power, called the Trinity Seal.
But then, civil war broke out in Japan, resulting in the death of the samurai and priestess. Before her death, Tsukiko managed to leave a final prophecy within her ocarina and sent it to the Celestials: "If ever there was a time of darkness bringing peril in both worlds, may two children, reincarnated...from the western lands, descended of the Emerald, arise and challenge the threat."
Eventually, Tsukiko's prophecy did click into effect. After the souls of herself and Yoshimitsu drifted away into time, an evil "seed" sprouted in the Digital World: the Dark Lord, Myotismon. He broke the Trinity Seal in half, taking one piece away with him, and designed it to his liking. New crests, and two new elements, were born: Cowardice and Fire, Remorse and Ice, Lust and Wind, Ignorance and Thunder, Hypocrisy and Water, Vanity and Forest, Sin and Unholy (the new Spirit), Darkness, Cruelty and Earth, and Fate, the Metal. These new crests were aligned with ten children on Earth and Digimon, Digital Monsters, and for fun decided to take in the reincarnate of Tsukiko. The Celestials followed suit, also bringing in Yoshimitsu's reincarnate, in hopes the prophecy would be true.
Tentative Title: A Masked Tempest
Basis: A crossover of Pokemon and Legend of Zelda(mainly Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask).
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Characters Needed: Trainers taken into the Sacred Realm and fused with one of their Pokemon. Divided into three sections: The Heroes, Minions of Ganon, and Rogues.
Basic Plot:
A millenia of prosperity had passed generously, but suddenly the ancient, mythical land of Hyrule began to plunge into a sudden hell. From the western deserts, darkness came in the form of one man. This was Ganondorf, King of the Gerudo Thieves. Though allegience towards Hyrule's king he claimed, clearly he was not sincere.
Slowly over time, within seven years, he took control, sealing the sages away into the temples scattered across the land. Only one choice was left within Hyrule: drag children pure of heart into the Sacred Realm to fight off this darkness. And so the three divine goddesses: Farore of Courage, Din of Power, and Nayru of Wisdom, set out and did so, finding children who did believe in the ancient tales. Ganon saw this, and managed to take in some himself, interrupting the procedure by altering the appearance of the children with one of their companions, sealing away the others between dimmensions.
------
Summer of the year 2005 sits on the Pokemon world like pure laziness. In a sweep, you decide to just go along on a hike, alone or with companionship, into the wilderness with your Pokemon. Doing so, you manage to spot a glimmering figure buried in dead leaves. Picking it up, you examine it thoroughly, questioning yourself on its purpose. Moments pass, and you then feel the life drain out of you, hearing cries begging for help as you fade into darkness.
You awaken, finding yourself alone or amongst others. Depending on your side, you see one man in front of you, and you learn your purpose. Rogues are just left alone for now, but still roam freely. You come into shock as you see that your clothes had been altered, and your appearance...partially reminiscent of one of your Pokemon. You learn why, and the fact that scattered across the realm are masks in which you can fully become your Pokemon. Taking in this information, you set out with your equipment, on the quest of a lifetime...
It seems since revival (or before) the idea topic has become somewhat unreplied to. Evil, bothersome, rpers... not replying to the idea topic... *grumble* And so, I take it upon myself to evaluate the last five ideas.
System 2000: I like the idea, though that isn't saying much. The plot is interesting nonetheless, and I certainly would join.
One Weird Odyssey: I like the format you presented the plot, but it shows a little vague. I suggest elaborating a little before you move to final product stage. Once again though, I like it and it is otherwise quite sound. Nothing based on these games has ever showed up, interesting of you to base them there.
Echoes of the World: I recall the plot of Metroid Prime 2 and I must say it borders in the territory of "highly" loosely based. I like the idea at the core, but I'd say the idea of the staffs for EVERYONE doesn't exactly encourage individuality in character design. Personally, to submit a form for this I would want a bit more of plot distinction and the ability to be on either the Space Pirate or the Evil side.
A Masked Tempest: Though the crossover is otherwise solid, I was a little confused as to why the hybridization of human/pokemon would be required in the Zelda universe. What purpose does it play? I otherwise enjoy this plot and would join should I have the room in my RPG schedule (which I do not at the moment).
Darkness Within Paradise: Because of the futuristic element I would like the technology explained when this gets to the enlisting process. Otherwise it seems pretty sound plot wise and is good and concise. I would enjoy this RP. The possible roles could also stand some elaboration.
Now that I've been uber critical of all of you (well, mostly). I feel the need to post my own idea. I'm curious what the character limit is... (kidding)
Now for my idea, bare with me. I've somewhat fleshed out this whole thing to the point of creating my character, but I require some suggestions or constructive criticism. Looking at it, the plot might be a little cliched and the basis too fantasy-esque.
Tenative Title - Eternal Exile
Basis - The desire to be a sociopath, my critical mind, various fantasy elements
Genre - Fantasy, Action/Adventure, etc to a point. SURVIVAL may play a key role.
Characters Needed: At least the eight (number may be reduced if I redo the plot a little, which I might) various other humanoids of other alliance or even creatures would be acceptable
Eternal Exile
When the world was created the goddess Ire swept her hand across the fertile soil of the east and said, "Let this be the land of the humans!" And so it was, and when the first couple was created they began an empire forged of stone and steel, an ironclad monarchy that would take hold of the region and bring technology unique to only themselves.
Again she designated the western mountains with a shining hand, "This shall be the land of Dwarven kind!" And so it was, as it was with Humankind, that when the first couple of dwarven would settle and create a vast labyrinth of tunnels and underground kingdoms using the fire of the forge to form a warm and welcoming system of clans, a tight bond of brotherhood.
With a third pinprick of her index finger she designated the South, and the newborn forest soon to grow into ancient tree and ent alike. "For the elven, this is their land forever and for eternity." And soon the treetop villages grew with the vast city of Selin at the center, a glowing wonder of the worshippers of nature and moonlight, and a sanctuary to the people that were the wisest and those that would live longest.
A final kingdom lie to the North, the vast ocean of the fledgling world. A newly created merfolk couple was pointed there, "Here my children, your children and their children shall live forever in the vast blue, this shall be the land of Mermen." And so was the final home, a watery metropolis of seahorse drawn carriages and the towering coral cities that gave home to a council driven government of the people of the sea.
The goddess nodded at her work, but gasped as her right hand, the hand of all creation, slipped to touch the abyss beyond the light of Irid. Here gray mist arose and she quickly reached to smear this abomination of her own handiwork, but was surprised further as her hand went clear through the new world. Devilish cackling rose from the depths, and the mists rose to settle just underneath Irid, tendrils poking the bottoms of the kingdoms every now and again...
That was thousands of years ago but now the tender alliance of the four races has shattered. Recent natural disasters have struck at the heart of each great realm, an earthquake, a goblin menace from the deeps, the slow death of the trees of old, and the rising of the coral to dry in the sweltering heat of the sun.
Each race blames the others for losing the favor of the goddess, of magic. Humans spread toxic oil through the ocean, polluting the home of the merfolk. Dwarven armies raze the treetop homes of the elves. Merfolk flood the tunnels and underground of the mountains with their water magic. Even the peaceful elvenkind force their trees to crack the stone and mortar of the human citadels, spreading dense woodland throughout once fertile farmland and causing the tumbling of structures of stone.
The war has waged for ten years, no side winning on any front, and it seems it is destined to war for eternity, as the pact between the four was meant to be. A single creature of gray lies in wait, to take the world when it is at its weakest, and his hellspawn wave their claws and bare their teeth in anticipation. The demonic lord Melic laughs atop his citadel of bone and the most unfortunate souls of each race, and laughs as more and more pour into his caverns. Their cold killing has deterred them from the kingdom of heaven, and instead they slide sickeningly down the gray tendrils that linger beneath.
The goddess is not blind to such madness, but she has only come to slowly understand the true power of her adversary. She has realized the real weakness of the demon lord, and witnessed just how much her power could not affect the gray citadel on the day Irid was birthed. Her powers have waned since the creation of the world, and she can only send guidance to eight individuals, two of each race, to follow her lead from the madness of their kind and to slowly discover the way to reach the lord of the gray and how to destroy him. For now she can only send them a dream of her and a nightmare of what is to come as they slumber, and the guidance to the true key. In the center of the world, past the defense lines of every race lies a single onyx tower and the key to the hellish underworld of Irid, the way down the gray tendrils.
The true instruments of Melic's demise are instruments in that. The goddess sends eight spheres to the young, but hoped saviors of the world. Each instrument is specifically garnered to the individual and she knows not what they will become once they leave her clouded precipice high above Irid. She can only hope they discover the tune which there heart beats by, the tune which will weaken Melic the rest left to the prowess found through the journey. But even the goddess is no epitome of perfection and corruption during transport of the artifacts may have misdirected them.
The minds of humanity are easily corrupted, and temptation is around every turn. Hard challenges lie ahead as the eight united must go through their own kind to reach the tower. Worse is that what will stand in there way is not creatures from the depths but their own kin. It is sure that they will have to be slain should the group progress but do the heroes have the mind to see the blood of their own race on their hands? Soon if they choose to follow this path they will be shunned, marked as the prey of bounty hunters by every race with no chance for redemption. False rumors of evil circulate the tower and when mention of it and the group that seeks it spreads they will soon become the prey of every race, and their downfall may just become the new center of the war. Soon the eight will face... eternal exile...
All the while Melic will be waiting... waiting for the first to fall. In their weakness he will see how an instrumentalist might be used as an instrument themself; an instrument that shall destroy Irid.
[End]
Though the plot is a little to obvious Good vs. Evil I am planning on adding some underlying themes that might have the characters in a moral debate in what exactly is evil and if what they are fighting for is worth the cause, what they are willing to sacrifice. Character emotion is a focus here, and corruption. The idea allows for a moral sandbox since the key is that the goddess makes mistakes and that the instruments may end up in the hands of a sinister individual(s). If this were to make it to the end I would take all the paths and swirl them around a bit, and conclude with an ending that is altogether unpredictable. Plot twists are planned if possible, and I want you to invent side quests and elaborate histories for your character to give the person signing up near absolute freedom.
It seems since revival (or before) the idea topic has become somewhat unreplied to. Evil, bothersome, rpers... not replying to the idea topic... *grumble* And so, I take it upon myself to evaluate the last five ideas.
System 2000: I like the idea, though that isn't saying much. The plot is interesting nonetheless, and I certainly would join.
One Weird Odyssey: I like the format you presented the plot, but it shows a little vague. I suggest elaborating a little before you move to final product stage. Once again though, I like it and it is otherwise quite sound. Nothing based on these games has ever showed up, interesting of you to base them there.
Echoes of the World: I recall the plot of Metroid Prime 2 and I must say it borders in the territory of "highly" loosely based. I like the idea at the core, but I'd say the idea of the staffs for EVERYONE doesn't exactly encourage individuality in character design. Personally, to submit a form for this I would want a bit more of plot distinction and the ability to be on either the Space Pirate or the Evil side.
A Masked Tempest: Though the crossover is otherwise solid, I was a little confused as to why the hybridization of human/pokemon would be required in the Zelda universe. What purpose does it play? I otherwise enjoy this plot and would join should I have the room in my RPG schedule (which I do not at the moment).
Darkness Within Paradise: Because of the futuristic element I would like the technology explained when this gets to the enlisting process. Otherwise it seems pretty sound plot wise and is good and concise. I would enjoy this RP. The possible roles could also stand some elaboration.
Now that I've been uber critical of all of you (well, mostly). I feel the need to post my own idea. I'm curious what the character limit is... (kidding)
Now for my idea, bare with me. I've somewhat fleshed out this whole thing to the point of creating my character, but I require some suggestions or constructive criticism. Looking at it, the plot might be a little cliched and the basis too fantasy-esque.
Tenative Title - Eternal Exile
Basis - The desire to be a sociopath, my critical mind, various fantasy elements
Genre - Fantasy, Action/Adventure, etc to a point. SURVIVAL may play a key role.
Characters Needed: At least the eight (number may be reduced if I redo the plot a little, which I might) various other humanoids of other alliance or even creatures would be acceptable
Eternal Exile
When the world was created the goddess Ire swept her hand across the fertile soil of the east and said, "Let this be the land of the humans!" And so it was, and when the first couple was created they began an empire forged of stone and steel, an ironclad monarchy that would take hold of the region and bring technology unique to only themselves.
Again she designated the western mountains with a shining hand, "This shall be the land of Dwarven kind!" And so it was, as it was with Humankind, that when the first couple of dwarven would settle and create a vast labyrinth of tunnels and underground kingdoms using the fire of the forge to form a warm and welcoming system of clans, a tight bond of brotherhood.
With a third pinprick of her index finger she designated the South, and the newborn forest soon to grow into ancient tree and ent alike. "For the elven, this is their land forever and for eternity." And soon the treetop villages grew with the vast city of Selin at the center, a glowing wonder of the worshippers of nature and moonlight, and a sanctuary to the people that were the wisest and those that would live longest.
A final kingdom lie to the North, the vast ocean of the fledgling world. A newly created merfolk couple was pointed there, "Here my children, your children and their children shall live forever in the vast blue, this shall be the land of Mermen." And so was the final home, a watery metropolis of seahorse drawn carriages and the towering coral cities that gave home to a council driven government of the people of the sea.
The goddess nodded at her work, but gasped as her right hand, the hand of all creation, slipped to touch the abyss beyond the light of Irid. Here gray mist arose and she quickly reached to smear this abomination of her own handiwork, but was surprised further as her hand went clear through the new world. Devilish cackling rose from the depths, and the mists rose to settle just underneath Irid, tendrils poking the bottoms of the kingdoms every now and again...
Max Blaze, you stole my idea! I was gonna make a Pokemon school RPG. Only very different. Er, I'll post it here, once I get my notebook which contains the plot back. >> <<
I like your RPG, Mire. Of course, I'm always partial to anything with elves, dwarves, etc. I might pop out of retirment just to give this a try.
BTW, what about people who are already morally ambiguous? I've got way too many characters I might want to use.
The key is that it is meant to be a sandbox. If you don't desire to corrupt your character, and want to follow the plot to the letter so be it (not that these go hand in hand). I'm just giving the option for the players to decide the ending more than "We found teh artifacts, we winzors!1112%." I went back to the drawing board, but I'm finding everything is relatively solid. One thing I desire is to find a way to implement the use of mythological creatures.
Completely allowed, the word Sandbox does of course delegate salad bowls (people with their good/evil/crunchy bits).
I've completed the plot in its finality and created both my forms and the complete enlist topic. I've changed the number of instrument holders at four at first, eight later (possibly). I won't be posting it soon though, as it is I'm in four roleplays which is more than enough without me hosting one.
Name: Baten Kaitos: Essence of the Soul
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure
Now, to warn everyone before they read this, it does contain Disc Two
* SPOILERS *
for certain plot details. Not the ending, because I haven't even finished the game yet, but it does contain some details that are part of a plot development in Disc Two. So if you Haven't got to disc two, or you don't want to get spoiled, don't read this.
You have been warned
Plot:
This is very In progress, since I haven't finished the game, I can't write a detailed plot. Basically.. We learn in Disc Two that the trapping of an essence in a magnus is a creation of the warlocks of old, and that though everything with an essence can be trapped, a living creature cannot be trapped and summoned without them becoming deformed and warped. After Dr Georg tried and successfully created a living being from a magnus, secret experiments unknown even to the Emperor of that time continued after his death was faked. There, working with magic they collected from the dimensional tears that were formed after Malpercio's release, they finally created the Soul Magnus. A card capable of holding a living creatures essence, with the ability to summon it at will.
That, is the very basic plot. As you can see, there are no details to it yet, something that will be developed over time. There's going to be a hell of a lot of working out to do in order to incorporate the magnus battling into the rpg. What is going to be fun though, is that the RPG character and the RPGer themselves will be able to interact, the same way as the gamer is, treated as a Guardian Spirit.
Tentative Title: M A J I C K
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure
Characters Needed: Mythical Creatures! ^_^
Basic Plot:
~-M/A\J|I/C\K-~
Brought to you by:
Crystal Tears and Tsukasa
Quickly now, in the wicked, dark forest full of creatures not yet seen with human eyes, the followers of the footsteps now go down the path that once was travelled by a heroic group of creatures that wanted all for the good of their own kind.
They came from all over. A rumour of death and ultimate destruction bound them to a cause which, in all hopes, seemed like a great challenge. As the secrets revealed themselves to the ones gathered ‘round... Yes, these creatures were all there for the same cause...
Come, sit down by the dimly lit fire, and I shall tell you the legend of the Mythical Creatures, and the great journey they embarked upon. They were forever forgotten in time... Until now...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They were all gathered in the middle of the ancient ruins, visions of hatred and despair had haunted their dreams. They all joined each others presence when a strange, rather tiny, cat-like creature appeared; wisdom and magic flowed through his emerald green eyes and shined like the sun in high noon.

“I am Fei, Elder of the High Order of Realms.” He stated in concern for those who gathered near, “I am here to inform you all of the grave danger that now haunts your dreams and itches at your soul even in the brightest of nights. Please, listen to me... For this... Is your fate.”

Tales of a cursed device spewed from the mouth of the philosophic cat. A machine capable of the destruction of every mystic and mysterious creature on the planet! Fear struck the gleaming eyes and beating hearts of all that heard of the deadly threat to all of their kind. As the rumour’s story came to an end, Fei’s mysticism began to fade.

“For now, I must leave. But know that only efforts of the heart will save all of the Mythical beings. Save us...”

With that, in a cloud of glimmering smoke, he vanished... Only the glow of his emerald eyes reminded them of his wise words.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And so the legend continued, told to those surrounding the flickering campfire. The eyes of the people that sat in the silent forest, listening to the tales that unfolded, were glazed over in concentration.
This story is told to help us realize our mistakes in the past, and I tell it to you now as a favour to our own curiosities. In this sacred moment, I shall share with you the rest of this ancient saga.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In their bleak fear of the looming future, they began to formulate. Formulate a plan. A plan to save their future. An adventure would ensue to ensure the deactivation and utter destruction of this treacherous mechanism...

Hope you all like. ^_^

It's not a bad idea at all CT! The mysteriousness of the RPG can really leave it open to the participants to describe and invent the storyline as it goes along.

To be honest with you though, I'm not such a good RPGer--find it rather difficult to roleplay with characters that aren't from video games or shows I watch or used to watch.

But...I think I might sign-up for this one, just because "mythical creatures" is totally open to any mythological animal you can think of. It's real spiffy. See, the only real issue I have with these RPGs is remembering the looks of the other characters.

All in all if you keep the openess of the RPG intact I'll sign-up and do what I can. i just hope we don't have overload and then a washout where we have to remember 15 made-up appearances for a week till 8 of them finally concede to dropping out =x

GLuck CT! (and Tsukasa too)

I know that Star Wars is typically avoided, and that the very thought of it might cause some of you more experienced roleplayers to draw back in disgust, but I believe I might present a format that may indeed work. I do not justify this with the fact Episode III is on its way.

Tenative Title - Far IV
Basis - A portion of Star Wars, mostly dealing with the Force, and my own crooked mind.
Genre - Science Fiction, Action/Adventure, etc.
Characters Needed - Six Jedi pupils.

Far, Far, Away

Wait, wait... considering the unlikelihood that any of us can know all there is to know about the Star Wars universe (too many questions about why they still use ept "pee on this", why yoda cannot walk any damn faster, ept...) I think it would be more adept to create a micro universe. We will take all the aspects [*takes*] of the regular Star Wars universe and instead put them in a universe not far, far, away, but far, far, far, far, away due to its unconnection from the main. So again I try...

Far IV
Much better, and so...

The citizens of the newly colonized planet Irid were witness to a technological revolution. With the defeat of the Vong and the rise of a new Jedi order, things were on the up and up and scientific discovery at its peak. However, as it is with most good things, they must come to end... after all as taught by the universe's previous history, evil always wins first.

And so it is correct, so on the fateful day a retreating group of Vong came across this planet on their flight of the dominant republic the citizens of the single Irid settlement were not surprised (at some level of their deep subconscious) when the Vong fleet attacked an orbiting fleet of ships of the planet and landed their own fleet on the planet for an emergency (and hasty) refuel.

Thankfully, or not so much, Jedi master Ode was resident on the planet on the time. Some called him a madman, others a saint, and it was plausible he was both. A decrepit old hero of the war with the Vong, it was safe to say this man was likely both.

In short, Ode proceeded to demand to have a visual planet to the commander of the fleet's ship who were orbiting the planet to keep control of any leaving vessels (they would be killing but time was of the essence). The conversation began and Ode kept his tounge more than you might expect the veteran too, or at least what the observers defined as "keeping his tounge." In reality it was hard to discern whether or not he was actually using his tounge in his communication, and thus a short time later the conversation ended abruptly with an angry outburst of clicking from both parties. With a flick of his wrist and a psychopathic look in his eye, Jedi master Ode spoke only: "That is taken care of." Which carries more sinistry then you would believe.

In later observation (though observation is usually rather instantaneous) it was found that the Jedi Master had planted a hyperspace drive on the planet, a massive undertaking which he had been working on since his youth (far, far, away), which left an obvious plot hole to be filled due to the fact that this settlement was the supposed only one ever on Irid. Regardless, the planet was put into hyperspace but Ode had not designed a mechanism to stop the drive, which he announced would eventually burn out. His solution to an obviously confused but vaguely grateful Irid was carbon freezing and comatose force induced sleep. All were put into a deep sleep, to which they hoped they might later awaken from...

=[One Hundred Year Gap]=

For the many things he was not reliable, Ode could certainly build a hyperdrive to last. Regardless, the planet landed in a galaxy in which the force promptly placed it in a new orbit with the twin suns later named Koro and Jir and the settlement began anew with technology that had all nearly malfunctioned with the hyperspace due to its primivity. Ode later dies with his life undocumented (or so it seems) and so the mini universe goes on...

Three hundred years later citizens of Irid have salvaged and created a new civilization with primitive hyperdrives, slow ships, and basic automatons. They are no longer cavemen (dump a cup of confetti on their heads why don't we)!

With the technological race of forever restored, the people of Irid have colonized the few planets that they can reach in their galaxy with more yet savage. As it is with the established government, founded on a particular lush planet and now the center economy (the Lith as it dubbed) and land, human tendencies beg war. With that, we find that a new people have broken from the Lith and established their own settlements on otherwise uninhabited terrain and in secret build up for a war to topple what they view as "oppressive" and "totalatarian," the Lith government.

=(Eleven wars, various disputes follow...)=

With the war on the Lith, sides have been taken on what seems an eternal battle due to both civilizations actually having more resources than either wants to let on. The Asunder, or split from the Lith, people have held their own and a treaty has been established momentarily for trade rights between the two and a complete ceasefire. Recently Jedi have first appeared in the galaxy since Ode's death and master Laq Ire has covertly established an academy on which he believes the "aggresive" and "passive" sides of the force (rather than dark/light) on a small planet, a new enclave inside Ode's tomb. Due to Ode's undocumented life and the force dying with the old technology from the original settlement, every Jedi is learning what they know from scratch. Power is here, but there are no lightsabers, only less efficient (though better than most weaponry) shielded vibroblades.

A disturbance in the force (despite the cliche) has grown and Laq wishes to instruct the youth Jedi for tomorrow's battle before it is too late. His academy can only do so much, however, and once the pupils begin their real missions they will not be so sheltered by Ire's wing. Only time can tell what shall follow in the coming months...

[END]

As explained there will be no lightsabers (vibroblades instead) and no dark or light side as of the beginning. So, what do you think? Does it still struggle to fight past the words "Star Wars?" As it is, this is a possible alternative to Eternal Exile. I'm unsure which I might like more, but we'll give it to the people to judge.

WARNING! CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE GAMES FINAL FANTASY X AND X-2!

~Title: ~*~'*To Be Hope*'~*~
~Basis: Final Fantasy X and X-2
~Genre: Action/Adventure, Drama, Romance (?)
~Characters needed: A summoner (taken by me), 8 guardians, and an antagonist (whose purpose will be revealed later)
~Plot:

They call it Sin.

It appeared 1000 years ago, during the Great Machina War between the two cities of Bevelle and Zanarkand, destroying the latter. Though created by the crazed Summoner Yu Yevon, it was widely thought to be punishment for the people of Spira's sins, and the religion of Yevon sprang up.

The Teachings of Yecon state that machina, machines, were forbidden, and the Al Bhed people who use them were evil. The Teachings also include strict instruction on how Sin was to be defeated. Summoners and their Guardians were to pray at all the Temples until they had aquired all of the sacred Aeons -- hole creatures, the incarnations of those who had died to save Spira from Sin. Then they would go the the Ruins of Zanarkand and receive the Final Aeon.

What the Teachings did not state was the Final Aeons nature. In order for the Summoner to receive the Final Aeon, one of her guardians must be transformed into it. And upon Sin's defeat, the Aeon would destroy the Summoner, as well as Sin. Yu Yevon, who uses Sin as a protective shell, will then warp the Final Aeon into the new Sin, thus Sin's Rebirth. So Spira's spiral of death would cycle on.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summoners come in all forms. Men, women, young, old, even Ronso (blue humanoids resembling lions) and Guado (people with large hands, brightly colored hair, and raised face markings). They excel in the magical arts -- they have to, to be able to summon the powerful Aeons. Their Pilgramage to the Temples leads them all across Spira -- Besaid, Kilika, Djose, Macalania, Bevelle, and, finally, to the ruins of Zanarkand, City of the Dead. They are invaraiably accompanied by their Guardians, trusted friends, sometimes family, whose purpose is to protect the Summoner, even at the expense of their own life, and sometimes, though they don't know it when they start their journey, to become the Final Aeon, and eventually Sin. They are Spira's hope, hope that someday Sin just might be defeated once and for all.
You are one such Guardian. You know that the Summoner you have sword to protect till the end will die if you succeed, and you may or may not accept this. She has chosen this path. Your story is about to begin. Are you ready?
This RPG will take place as if the events in Final Fantasy X and X-2 had never happened, including the journey of High Summoner Braska. At least general knowledge of FFX is strongly reccomended, and this RPG is rated 14+ for extreme violence, some language, and probable use of alchohol.
I love your loose but strict concept Nab--based on the game but not confined to the events that happened there--it's a near-perfect setup for any1 who's played it in the past three-four years! =)
Considering that I'm already in 3 RPGs I probably won't be able to sign-up till they evaporate, but I'm finding that since plots move along a little slow these days and I keep coming every day to check on them--maybe a 4th RPG wouldn't hurt--I think--not sure-- =P
Best of luck starting it up.
Tentative Title: Hikari High, the School of Heroes
Basis: My own mind.
Genre: Action/Adventure, a little humor, as well as the school atmosphere and sprinklings of other genres.
Characters needed: Students, usually individuals with unique powers or levels of potential.
Plot:
Throughout the histories of the myriad universes, there has been but one constant. Strife between good and evil, with champions for each side ending up leading the forces of both. For ages, both Heroes and Villains have been made by coincidence and circumstance. One day however, that changed. A Heroine and a Villainess caught in mortal battle accidentally tore open two holes into other universes, and ended up in completely unformed universes, made purely of potential.
With nothing better to do, each shaped the universes potentials into a shaped they liked, and thus both Hikari High and Detestia High were born. Since then, fate has drawn individuals to each of the universes, so that they could learn to be heroes and villains, usually individuals that were unusual, even for the race they came from.
You are a student at Hikari High, most notably being in Mission Group 17. Going to classes, and on the occasional supervised mission to do real good, you are learning to be a hero.
Interesting kalad, but the fact that it is a "school" roleplay may deter its development. I suggest giving the plot a little more direction.
===
I know that Star Wars is typically avoided, and that the very thought of it might cause some of you more experienced roleplayers to draw back in disgust, but I believe I might present a format that may indeed work. I do not justify this with the fact Episode III is on its way.
Tenative Title - Far IV
Basis - A portion of Star Wars, mostly dealing with the Force, and my own crooked mind.
Genre - Science Fiction, Action/Adventure, etc.
Characters Needed - Six Jedi pupils.
Far, Far, Away
Wait, wait... considering the unlikelihood that any of us can know all there is to know about the Star Wars universe (too many questions about why they still use ept "pee on this", why yoda cannot walk any damn faster, ept...) I think it would be more adept to create a micro universe. We will take all the aspects [*takes*] of the regular Star Wars universe and instead put them in a universe not far, far, away, but far, far, far, far, away due to its unconnection from the main. So again I try...
Far IV
Much better, and so...
The citizens of the newly colonized planet Irid were witness to a technological revolution. With the defeat of the Vong and the rise of a new Jedi order, things were on the up and up and scientific discovery at its peak. However, as it is with most good things, they must come to end... after all as taught by the universe's previous history, evil always wins first.
And so it is correct, so on the fateful day a retreating group of Vong came across this planet on their flight of the dominant republic the citizens of the single Irid settlement were not surprised (at some level of their deep subconscious) when the Vong fleet attacked an orbiting fleet of ships of the planet and landed their own fleet on the planet for an emergency (and hasty) refuel.
Thankfully, or not so much, Jedi master Ode was resident on the planet on the time. Some called him a madman, others a saint, and it was plausible he was both. A decrepit old hero of the war with the Vong, it was safe to say this man was likely both.
In short, Ode proceeded to demand to have a visual planet to the commander of the fleet's ship who were orbiting the planet to keep control of any leaving vessels (they would be killing but time was of the essence). The conversation began and Ode kept his tounge more than you might expect the veteran too, or at least what the observers defined as "keeping his tounge." In reality it was hard to discern whether or not he was actually using his tounge in his communication, and thus a short time later the conversation ended abruptly with an angry outburst of clicking from both parties. With a flick of his wrist and a psychopathic look in his eye, Jedi master Ode spoke only: "That is taken care of." Which carries more sinistry then you would believe.
In later observation (though observation is usually rather instantaneous) it was found that the Jedi Master had planted a hyperspace drive on the planet, a massive undertaking which he had been working on since his youth (far, far, away), which left an obvious plot hole to be filled due to the fact that this settlement was the supposed only one ever on Irid. Regardless, the planet was put into hyperspace but Ode had not designed a mechanism to stop the drive, which he announced would eventually burn out. His solution to an obviously confused but vaguely grateful Irid was carbon freezing and comatose force induced sleep. All were put into a deep sleep, to which they hoped they might later awaken from...
=[One Hundred Year Gap]=
For the many things he was not reliable, Ode could certainly build a hyperdrive to last. Regardless, the planet landed in a galaxy in which the force promptly placed it in a new orbit with the twin suns later named Koro and Jir and the settlement began anew with technology that had all nearly malfunctioned with the hyperspace due to its primivity. Ode later dies with his life undocumented (or so it seems) and so the mini universe goes on...
Three hundred years later citizens of Irid have salvaged and created a new civilization with primitive hyperdrives, slow ships, and basic automatons. They are no longer cavemen (dump a cup of confetti on their heads why don't we)!
With the technological race of forever restored, the people of Irid have colonized the few planets that they can reach in their galaxy with more yet savage. As it is with the established government, founded on a particular lush planet and now the center economy (the Lith as it dubbed) and land, human tendencies beg war. With that, we find that a new people have broken from the Lith and established their own settlements on otherwise uninhabited terrain and in secret build up for a war to topple what they view as "oppressive" and "totalatarian," the Lith government.
=(Eleven wars, various disputes follow...)=
With the war on the Lith, sides have been taken on what seems an eternal battle due to both civilizations actually having more resources than either wants to let on. The Asunder, or split from the Lith, people have held their own and a treaty has been established momentarily for trade rights between the two and a complete ceasefire. Recently Jedi have first appeared in the galaxy since Ode's death and master Laq Ire has covertly established an academy on which he believes the "aggresive" and "passive" sides of the force (rather than dark/light) on a small planet, a new enclave inside Ode's tomb. Due to Ode's undocumented life and the force dying with the old technology from the original settlement, every Jedi is learning what they know from scratch. Power is here, but there are no lightsabers, only less efficient (though better than most weaponry) shielded vibroblades.
A disturbance in the force (despite the cliche) has grown and Laq wishes to instruct the youth Jedi for tomorrow's battle before it is too late. His academy can only do so much, however, and once the pupils begin their real missions they will not be so sheltered by Ire's wing. Only time can tell what shall follow in the coming months...
[END]
As explained there will be no lightsabers (vibroblades instead) and no dark or light side as of the beginning. So, what do you think? Does it still struggle to fight past the words "Star Wars?" As it is, this is a possible alternative to Eternal Exile. I'm unsure which I might like more, but we'll give it to the people to judge.
The superhero esque feel is a little cliche, and the idea of a "school" and posts containing information about going to classes isn't the best. I suggest changing the plot to emphasize on the missions, as "school" roleplays tend to crash and burn. I do like it, though.
Okay. It's been awhile since we last had a TPM-based idea. If A Masked Tempest fails, this would be my next resort for an RPG.
Tentative Title: The Gods That Failed (temporary)
Basis: TPM
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fatasy, etc
Characters Needed: TPMers, Misc. characters
Basic Plot:
Time and time again has darkness clouded itself over our peaceful world, but never has it caused as much turmoil as this...
You yourself agree with that one statement. The oracles have predicted it numerously, and the prophecy had been fulfilled. In our world where past and future meet the present, and where reality meets fantasy, residents have gone missing for unknown reasons...as if they had been vaporized.
Before it was too late, the oracles again met and decided that some shall become the chosen ones of the world, and those chosen ones will go through perilous quests with power, wisdom, and courage in order to save the souls of those who have disappeared.
It turns out that you are one of those chosen by the oracles. After an odd nightmare or dream, you wake up in a fret in the middle of the night. Gasping, you wipe the sweat off your face and glance in the mirror, seeing those images again. In your ears, you constantly hear "Help those missing...". Resigned, you gather your gear and other things and set forth alone or with others on a quest of a lifetime.
Tentative title: The Prophecy...well, actually, that's the title!
Basis: For anyone who's seen the film, The Prophecy, well, it's based on the second one! And for anyone who hasn't, it's based on the second Prophecy film! Go watch it...it's bloody great!
Genre: Action/religion(ish)
Characters needed: Angels! Including Gabriel, possibly Lucifer, some Humans, and some Angel/Human half-breeds called Nihilim.
Basic plot: Ok, there's a second war of heaven prophesised, set off by the Angel Gabriel, who has begun to rebel against God and his will. This war can only be stopped by the Nihilim, a race of hybrid Angel/Humans with supernatural abilities. The Nihilim have not been seen on Earth for many centuries, however, a small number of them have been found, scattered around the world, preparing themselves for the incoming war against one of God's most powerful Angels...
Hmm, I'm not sure on that one...but I don't think he's been called anything other than Lucifer! He won't be in for much...as long as you don't mind that, then sure! You'll have to wait for a while, though, the story needs tweaking and I have Dragonsouls II to conted with, along with a host of exams! But when it's written, I'll keep you in consideration!
Well, I might join if I think I can handle the responsibility. I'm going to be gone for quite a time in June though.
I think other people would join, Razor Leaf, regardless of they played the game or not. They just must be too lazy to post in here, lol.
I have another tenative idea, again. Eternal Exile is still sitting in a compressed folder in my documents.
Tenative Title - Born Again Beast (Formerly Animalia: The Mutation; Permission to use given by Illiad/Aeges_Ateri)
Basis - Just science fiction and issues on human cloning...
Genre - Science Fiction, Action/Adventure, etc.
Characters Needed - I'm planning for eight hybrids total, probably no other characters unless someone has an idea for something a little different.
Basic Plot -
This roleplay is indeed the work of the mind of Illiad (Aeges_Ateri) and has been approved for my use and alterations.
Born Again Beast
In the near future a new tide of genetical research has risen. The rigors of moral disagreement on cloning are far from solved, but a different, even more complex research continues far from the light of day. A single genetic expert has discovered a method to splice the deoxyribonucleic acid of one being with another.
Oh, semantics? He can convert humans to hybrid animals.
His research lab was perfect, far from civilization and heavily hidden, with only a meager payroll of several guards to keep it secure. No eyes could find him here, or so a certain crackpot scientist Guru Ore believed. Unfortunately, nothing can forever escape the vigilance of certain "secretive" government organizations. When Ore went farther than just theory and blackboard equations and a present embryo appeared, the world underground went frantic. It was only a month after that he was discovered and connivingly made an offer America couldn't refuse. The promise of a superhuman army.
Why not? No rebellion or war would ever overtake them, he thought, they would meld enough, Ore decided. Too bad it was all just a shameless bribe. Secretly, Ore knew he hadn't the know-how to actually create a human hybrid. The embryo had failed. Was their another way?
Yes, and it was only seconds before it had come to his mind. A living host would be perfect for the painful change... yes, yes. Youthful they must be, for maximum potential and stability, and still unmatured enough to have a willpower to be bent. Bent to all hell, that is. Soon, a greater organization would come into being while a certain government had its back turned. May they die via ambush, sincerely Guru Ore.
The tubes were prepared perfectly. It was only a matter of time before they arrived, were transformed, and achieved the epitome of combat prowess. Bullet-resistant skin and "talents" would be more than enough to destroy any opposition. Ingenious!
===
You find yourself encased in a tube of virile material and filled with a healing intensive orange liquid, giving you an almost encased sinking feeling. The trauma from being in a test tube is more than enough except there is more. Oops, you seem to have gained animal features. Wait a second... Animal Features! Panic is widespread and you thrash uncontrollably as if your new fin or wings might fall off any second. Nope, still there. Your eyes are still wide with horror, but you calm enough to perceive the tubes nearby through your blurred orange vision and realize other subjects within. It isn't hard to know they all have the same thing on their mind, escape. But, where is there to go? Certainly the villian behind this scheme is due at any moment. What plan has he concocted and how can you ever hope to blend in with society again?
[END]
So, what do you think? Comments, criticism, please.
I wouldn't mind joining. It has been a long time since I tried a gene-fusion RPG. Also, I've always wanted to see Ark/Archwood as a deer-man.
Furthermore, as another player of Baten Kaitos (loved the music, decent story, Lyude's Light Finishers) I would love to play an RPG based on it. Just please let me use the words Presto, Concerto, Intermezzo, or Finale in any major fight sequence, and I'd be happy.
Even though I don't post in this topic often, I wanted to find out if anyone would be interested in a realistic Harry Potter, pre-series. I'm thinking either Marauder era, or Bill and Charlie's years. By realistic, I mean not everyone as an Animagus/Metamorphmagus/main character's best friend/love interest/owner of a very unusual magical pet/werewolf/half-breed of something weird.
The plot and concept of this one is a bit obscure (and a bit more freeform) than any of the other ones I've constructed. I wanted to do something somewhat different.
Tenative Title - The River
Genre - Everything except Science Fiction, I suppose. Were speaking relatively work-safe genres, though, heh.
Basis - Boredom, Field of Dreams, Insanity, etc.
Characters Needed - Six Humans + various sentients
The River (Mature)
Deep in a secluded woodland on the North American Continent lies a sacred and malignant river where our world merges with another. Here, at the stream with one bank, it becomes very clear that the most treacherous of the elements is not fire.
The world beyond the river is a chilled land, like the first days of fall, and seemingly devoid of all "human" life. It is a small world, situated on a great flat continent that flows to the edge and over to the abyss in a stunning waterfall. A giant rock wall, unnaturally smooth and infinitely tall, rises at what is described as the back of the habitat. Here is the place those that cross the river will be exiting, atop a snow laden knoll with the incorrect temperature for the flakes and with a great evergreen forest beyond, halted only by the the sea of gray that leads to the edge of the world. The mists that rise from the sea are not pungent with salt, but with melancholy.
Brought together by what must have been chance, six humans from Modern Earth become the first of their species to ever set foot on the dreary island. You are on of the unlucky ones and for the first days you manage to pass the time by telling stories of your past, your dreams, and above all, the ones you left behind. Here in this world, your loved ones cannot reach you. Some of you might desperately try to escape but eventually realize your inability to do so. The inability to return to your own world.
As the days pass on your suddenly realize that none of you feel the slightest bit of hunger or thirst and show no signs that food or drink was ever absent from you. Transformed by the change, it becomes only the beginning of discovery.
The local wildlife is like that of Earth and they come to see you and your motley crew with curiousity. They have never seen a human before. Sometimes you see the eyes of the more predatory or the more watchful late at night, green, blue, and brown eyes wistful in the darkness.
Soon boredom comes as there are no more stories to tell, or none that anyone wishes to reveal. In your dreams that night you see something different, imagining the creatures watching you, red eyes instead punctuate the gloom. Red eyes malignant against the black forest. You wake up, shaking in fear, and find a weapon in your lap. A weapon you find, that seems to embody you in some way. As the next day passes, magic becomes apparent in each of you in your motley crew.
With the first manifestations of this you feel something different. It was just boredom and homesickness before, but you realize that this magic must have some purpose. Thinking of the demon eyes in your nightmare, you realize for the first time that some of you might not survive on this island.
======
Concept and Ruleset
At first glance it seems just your average survival roleplay, doesn't it? The addition of magic and weaponry is the first sign towards a more ultimate storyline that I plan to evolve in time. However, the point of this roleplay is to put some pressure on the other players to begin creating some mythology of the world for themselves. The only rules here are that you are the only humans and otherwise your character basically has free reign to create what they want. Are there strange creatures of myth in the forests? Other humanoids? A secret empire evolving beneath your very nose? What you create becomes a constant in the ultimate plotline and is free game for other roleplayers to use and abuse. Will your character's magic evolve? Will they try to kill the other players or make a pact with the demons in the woods? Anything you create can happen here as long as it fits in a medieval setting and is kept relatively reasonable.
I will act as both the omnipotence and as a player, but my purpose will be more to just nudge the roleplay along if it slows to a crawl. Don't want to be one of the humans? Fine. You could be a woodland creature or tree spirit, demon or strange secluded race. There are plenty of possibilities to be explored. Basically, I've given you the wall and the paint you put on it is your choice. Freeform is a daunting idea, but I'm hoping that this will go rather smoothly with the number of intelligent people we have at this board. You have free reign over anything that I have not fully explained or already created.
Noted, this roleplay is intended to be mature (as tagged). I'm perfectly fine with violence (not too vivid) and romance (don't go farther than implyed sex) and whatever existing curses or new curses your character might want to use. Things I will not tolerate is characters that have even the slightest godliness about them or posts that manipulate other player's characters without proper knowledge.
The death element is certainly a card I might draw on later, so be prepared if your character is randomly chosen (by a roll of the dice, actually) to die. Dead characters aren't useless, however. Death opens a whole new window of play in ghosts and other supernatural aspects. Also, deathmatches that are intended to leave only one standed by two players can be decided by all participants over private message, or I will act as an omnipotence if you can't decide. There is always a chance that something random might happen to your character, so don't be surprised if it does.
Tentative Title: The Amulet of Altheaka
Basis: Took a couple of concepts from Sokora Refugees
Genre: Fantasy, Comedy, and Boarding School (Yes, I am relatively sure that school RPGs constitute their own genre xp)
Characters Needed: Eight teenagers, four demons, and four elven sorcerers/esses (Each RPer plays a teen and a demon/elve)
Basic Plot:
You are a student at St. Benivere's Boarding School, a correctional facility for troublesome students. You've just recently been enrolled, and you're not exactly eager to see your new temporary home. Despite what you thought, it's built on a beautiful campus with a lake, forest, and even a mountain or two. Plus, the teachers are all stuffed shirts, and it'll be great fun playing pranks on them.
One night, you are out exploring the woods because you've heard a rumor about the existence of a gigantic hollow tree, which would be ideal for storing items that would otherwise be confiscated, and for lying low when the heat's up. After a few hours of searching, without any success, you begin back in the direction of the school. However, before you can leave the forest, you are greeted with a strange sight.
The first four students that arrive at the wooded glade are greeted by the sight of four beautiful people in strange clothing, hunched over on the ground. They appear to be fatally wounded, but despite the profuse amounts of blood, they are strangely calm. You make eye contact with one of them for what seems like an eternity, then there is a bright flash of light, and they are gone. You hurry back to the dormitories, not sure what you've just witnessed.
The second group, having seen the bright flash, arrives at the same spot a few minutes later. There is nothing there now, but for a few spots of blood on the grass. However, you get an ominous feeling, and the glade seems darker than the rest of the forest. You rush back to the school, anxious to get back indoors, where it's safe.
The next day, you awaken to find that all is not as it should be. You've changed and quite drastically. If you were one of the students to see the Elves, then you've become the one whom you made eye contact with. If you were one of the ones to show up afterward, then your body, while still human, is noticably demonic in nature.
As you go through your school day, the teachers accept your story that you are a late arrival to the school, but insist that you get registered at the office and acquire a copy of your scheduale. Eventually, one by one, you find that there are triggers that cause you to transform between your normal self, and the wholly new one.
In your dreams that night, you are contacted by either the elve or demon whose appearence you've taken on. They tell you that they are from another realm called Arudynae, and are seeking a sacred artifact that lies in the school, so that they may use it either to destroy the portal between the two worlds or open it up as wide as can be. It appears that you've become their vessel, as they're too weak to be able to use bodies of their own. Instead they guide you, telling you how to summon and use your new powers. They also tell you that there are enemies in the school, and that it is your job to stop them before they can get the artifact.
And so you embark on a quest to keep up with your dual set of classes, ensure that the teachers and students don't notice that you're really two people, and save/destroy the world. Hey, no one said High School was easy.
Bored. And tragically, school will start soon for me (well, tomorrow). Wanted to get this up beforehand.
Tentative Title ~ Ressurection of Desire
Basis ~ Digimon, with minor influence from The Legend of Zelda...but LoZ has no other involvement other than small references.
Genre ~ Action, Adventure, Fantasy, and others
Characters Needed: 10 teenagers chosen to ressurect the elemental crests, the essences of the spirits needed to overcome the darkness spilt into their hearts by a new sort of evil.
Plot ~
Long ago, when the world was only young, the spirits known as the gods became the guardians over the elements: Fire, Ice, Wind, Electricity, Water, Forest, Time(also known as Magick), Light, Earth, and an element some considered unnatural, but Metal existed through the minerals used to create weaponry and other sorts of items used in life. The crests, however, contained their powers as a mortal avatar, resting within random locations across the world, kept the world in line, as if they were the religious icons of the world. However, the shadow of the world spawned yet another element, Shadow, which became the divine element of the demons which spawned from these leftover objects from the Creation. Despite this existance, the shadow creatures were scared back to their pool of origin by the force of the light. And from that point forward, peace continued
Those were the tales told by those growing up in the world. While it was true, it was still told through stories in which became nothing more than almost forgotten while the religions were created. Conflicts were fought in the name of the leaders of these faiths. And from the hatred brewed a demon so vile, and so powerful, that the light did not even dare to afflict him. This was Gigyasmon, who could be called anything from Lucifer, to even Hades. Using what powers he had, he stormed into the grounds which held the crests, and tainted them, somehow tainting the souls that would someday be risen by destiny through reincarnation. And in order to save their world, the gods divided the spirituality in the world from the mortals. And, like the past legends, became long forgotten of their actual existance.
The Fire Spirit of Courage developed into Fear...the Ice of Friendship became a depressing Loneliness...Windy Love was transformed into hate...and Electric Knowledge became Insolence. Water Reliability created Hypocrisy, Sincerity of the Forest spawned Pride, Time's Magickal Hope became Pessimism, and Light, however, became the Shadow of Darkness. Earth's Kindness became Cruelty, and the Metallic Miracles became Destruction. That was the result of the wrath and greed of Gigyasmon. And through the passage of time, the souls that were afflicted came into newer bodies, which the gods promised would somehow be revived to their true state.
Winter 2005. Tokyo, Japan. You somehow feel like your main traits pointed out by people are becoming more and more apparent. Whether or not you feel like it's a random streak of paranoia, or just criticism, you continue with these prepreations for Christmas. Heading home, you take in the mail with you. Once you get inside, you realize that there is one in an unusually colored eveloped, unlabeled, and no return address. Curiosity coming over you, you open the envelope and read an unusual little story...about spirits, the avatars, and the ultimate evil taking the avatars into darkness. You look down to see a symbol in a darker varient of the envelope's color, varying by letter. It unusually glows...and suddenly, you fall to the ground, passing out as you cling to the letter as if you depended on it.
You awaken to an unfamiliar setting. It doesn't even seem like any part of Japan, either. Confused, you sit up and see an unusual animal, carrying a small device, next to you. Dropping it into the palm of your hand, it begins to speak. It tells you that it is a spy for the gods, working under the ultimate evil known as Gigyasmon. Odd enough, you remember the legend in the letter which somehow brought you here. It continues on with how it is a Digimon, or Digital Monster, an inhabitant to this world. You're then told that before you're tracked down by the telekinesis of Gigyasmon, you must find the others brought here into this world. Standing up at an instant, you set forth to find this group who, like you, were "tainted".
Hmm, not a bad idea Sango (notices signature) what's the RPG mafia? Anyway, I've got an idea for a comedy RPG, but I want to make sure it will at least get some attention before I put my time into it. I'll give you the title
"Resident Wonka"
This was just an idea a friend and I were kicking around.
Thanks, Mystic. I'll more than likely try to fit the idea into my already jam-packed schedule. x.x;; Your idea seems a little interesting, too.
And the RPG Mafia? Well, ask the Donna(Drusilla) if you're interested in joining, but basically the RPG Mafia is a group of us good/veteran RPGers.
*Tentative Title Power Above God
*Basis Basically...Bleach (google it if you don't know what it is, I'm to lazy =))
*Genre Romance, adventure, fantasy, might entwine with religious matters...
*Characters Needed 7 teenagers entrusted with special powers to overcome darkness and defeat the evil God Apocolypse before he can defeat the "good" God and make Earth into one of his slave planets
*Basic Plot
It is time...
God (that's our God, the good one :smilie:), sent his archangels down to Earth to choose the destined ones, ones with high spirit power and potential to defeat Apocolypse, to save all the slave planets, and Earth, and to rid the universe of Apcolypse!
In the town of Tokyo, 7 teenagers live their normal life as high school students, hanging with friends, procrastinating homework...until one night, when they were all asleep, a strange light came to each of them and with a sudden flash, each teenager had the same dream…
[b]There was mayhem in some place…far far away…the sky was red and everyone was running from dark monsters, which were casting dark spells upon anything that stood in their way…Soon, everything was annihilated, every living creature and structure was obliterated. Then, the second wave came, more dark creatures with strange tools, scurried into a large circle. One of them hurried into the middle, and threw a pole in the air; in mid air the pole spun around and small parts came out of the bottom of it. They extended far, looking like a tripod for a camera, and a large black sphere emerged from the tip. The massive “thing” that used to be just a pole settled down on the floor, not breaking or falling or anything.
The other minions quickly ran up the legs, literally, towards the sphere, and inserted wires into holes of the sphere, holding onto the other end of the wire. They raised their free hand and murmured an incantation. Small rods shot up the floor, they absorbed electricity from the atmosphere, and put the other end of the wires in every rod. The sphere started emanating energy, and a dark purple laser shot into the sky from the sphere…feeding power to the mighty Apocolypse.
~~~

[b][i]On a large throne somewhere in a different galaxy, near a massive portal swirling in the darkness, sat the Apocolypse...He hid in the deepest of shadows, only his blood red eyes shone from the dark...Next to his throne sat a small crystal orb, which if broken would destroy the Apocolypse, for it fed him with the many spheres of power he planted all over the universe. It was the only way to defeat him.

~~~
[color=orange]As the dream ends, they all jolt out of their beds in the middle of the night, sweating and pondering about the dream they just had. There was a small voice in their heads, telling them to meet at a certain place.
It was a stormy night.
:biggrin:
Shinryu0: hmm, not bad. Needs a bit of work though.
I've put the "Resident Wonka" idea on hold for now. Here's another idea I've been kicking around.
Title: Rocket Acadamy
Basis: pokemon, anything else spawned from my twisted mind.
Genre: a bit of everything really
Characters needed: students at Rocket Academy
Basic Title:
Things have not been going well for the once proud Team Rocket. Once the most feared criminal organisation in Kanto, Jhoto and Hoenn, Team Rocket is now on the verge of disbanding, all because of the lack of members. Members of Team Rocket are dropping at an alarming rate, all for a number of reasons. Team Aqua and Magma, the police and variou other disasters including a certain trainer and his pikachu. As you can see, being a Rocket and be very hazardous to your health.
so, why not recuite more members? Well, a powerful organisation like Team Rocket needs powerful members. But, as talent scouts find out, most powerful trainers have developed something called "morals" and instead decide to go against Team Rocket. At this rate, they're gaining more enemies then allies. It seems that the end is near for Team Rocket.
Then they got it. Why not start an academy to train young, inspiring trainers into cunning and powerful members of Team Rocket. If this plan works, a new generation of Rockets will be appearing very soon. They succeeded in gaining a number of students (by any means necassary). The first term of the year is appraoching and the new students are goign to need all the luck they can get to make it past the first week.
Welcome, to Rocket Academy.
What do you think? I'm still tinkering with the plot.
Title: The Age of Dragons- Birth of the Tamer
Basis: my own idea. With a bit of Reign of fire idea in it.
Genre: Fantasy >_>
Characters needed: Dragons and human survivors.
Basic Title:
"And which part did you not understand?" A large scaled beast hissed at another, his eyes gleaming emerald that fades to a beautiful gold. Large spike like horns come from the back of his head, located right behind the elf like ears. Giant reptilian wings sprout from his body. The scales on him brilliant silver, long thick whiskers on his face fade to black, much like his long slender tail. "Humans are not prohibited to see us! No matter how trustworthy!"
The one he hissed at was a smaller beast, bronze in colour, small ram like horns just beginning to grow. His wings connected to his forearms, making his walk almost exactly like a bat. Large muscular back legs carry the weight of a huge tail. His eyes were red that faded to a black.
"I do recall you trusting humans..." The Smaller one snapped, glaring into the Elders eyes. "How dare you hiss your tongue at me when you are guilty of the same crime."
"And we paid the price!" The Elder hissed, trying his best to hold himself back from tearing the youngling apart. "We had to go in hiding!"
"Only because you wouldn't fight back!" The Youngling snarled, slamming his tail onto the cold cave floor. "You wouldn't let us fight! The humans would be nothing if you were to let us destroy their pathetic kind!"
"Killing off another species... No matter how pathetic, is not the way of the dragon. Dragon's have honour."
The youngling had enough of the Elders words, slamming his head into the Elders neck, he watched the Elder topple over. Smiling his whispered to the elder. "Honour? Hiding in a hole is not honourable... I will restore the dragon's honour."
"Vercingetorix..." The Elder hissed, barely managing to stand up straight o meet his opponents face. "Exactly how many dragons do you expect will rally to your cause? You attacked an Elder..."
Vercingetorix turned to the Elder and growled towards him. "I remember a time when you called me Son. I remember the time when I was proud of you father. But I have grown up, and many dragons are sick of hiding from a race whose power is nothing compared to ours..."
He attacked; Vercingetorix opened his mouth to bare the sharp incisors that many dragons feared. He breathed in sharply, and then, blew out, wicked flames spout from his mouth, licking his fathers face, and burning it, The elder cried out in pain, so loud, that every dragon in the cave heard, and knew Vercingetorix plan had begun. With the plan in motion, the human race begins to experience and odd chain of events...
* * * * * * *
You sit on board the plane, doing whatever, you just happen to look out your window and swore you saw a giant scaled bird flying beside your plane. You brush it off though, thinking it's just your imagination playing games with you.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, We will be arriving at our-"
A loud crash and tearing noise is heard, and the next thing you know, wind is rushing around you and when you look out the window, your tumbling down towards a charred black city, which you can see has burning cars, and buildings.
Another loud crash makes you turn around, a beam of fire slams into hull right behind you, incinerating everyone, and then, causing the tail to fall right off.
You scream, and cover your face, now free falling towards the ground, you feel a rough lurch, loud screeches, and then silence.
* * * * * * *
One of the few survivors of the plane crash, you are left to fend on your own as Beasts of Fire terrorize what's left of your used to be world. Around you, you feel the heat of the fire; hear the screams of victims being eaten alive or burnt to ashes.
Your goal, your mission is to survive. You must use any means necessary to survive the dragon's ruthless attacks, and attempts to devour you. Somewhere in the charred world, may lay the secret of the dragons, and how to tame them...
* * * * * * *
The brethren of Fire, your mission is to burn human civilization, and anyone who tries to stand in your way. Vercingetorix has given you the honour to fly in the skies you once ruled, make your leader proud.
Shinryu0: Sounds cool. Me like.
Mystic Clown: Oooh. Me likes. Rocket School sounds fun. ^^ Hehe violence, and stealing pokemon. Whats not to love? ^.^
Tentative Title: Reign of Eternity
Basis: Dragons!!
Genre: Fantasy...soesn't the 'dragons' give that away?
Characters Needed: Four leader dragons, and about five others per clan.
Basic Plot: Set on the world of Pandora. Obviously it isn't finished yet, but playable characters will be mostly dragons unless anyone wants a human ^^ There are four clans of dragons; Dawn, Midday, Evening, and Midnight, all with different attitudes to humans. The mentioned box (Pandora's box, heh heh), needs chaos to survive and so it lures a human into opening it and so unleashing dragons on the world of Pandora.
---------------------------
It was lonely.
The runes on the side of the box glowed and pulsated gently, as if in boredom.
It waits, beyond the mortal world, yet inhabiting it at the same time. Waiting for it’s time.
Hiding its precious secret. Its precious cargo of another plane.
Suddenly, the runes begin to glow a ferocious red, as if they were steeped in blood. It no longer had an air of anticipation about it. Now, it knew. Its time was near.
Pulsing in glee, the box waited its last. Reaching out with all its might, it snared a gullible and easily manipulated soul from the Human world of Pandora.
Soon, they would experience chaos. And it would fuel the box until it grew powerful enough to release its precious cargo. And then, there would be true chaos.
Once, the box had been likened to Loki, the trickster god of Norse Mythology. Loki had destroyed the Human world of Earth long ago, but it still revelled in the name.
Loki. A God of Chaos. All it needed was this final world, and it would become all-powerful.
The runes glowed brighter, deeper red than before, and an eerily smug aura came from the box.
-------------------------------------------------------
The world of Pandora is inhabited by Humans, left behind by the Creator Race to tend their planet until their return. However, not many now remember the Creators, viewing them as myths to scare children in the depths of night.
Usually quite a boring world, Pandora sits, rotating gently in its atmosphere, unaware of events happening on its surface. The comet that has just punctured its flesh and air is quickly forgotten as the atmospheric hole heals itself and long ago the planet decided not to bother with the tiny things that scuttled over its mantle. They were insignificant. But as the planet rotated, the insignificant beings were gathering round a magical occurrence that had fallen from the sky.
A comet, leaving a trail of hot dust behind it as it fell, landed smack at the bottom of Mount Xenon and, snug in its crater, it cooled.
A nearby pair of scouts had espied the comet as it fell and scurried to the landing site to investigate. Upon their arrival, the comet had cooled enough for a small piece to break off invitingly, leaving a fresh and shiny surface underneath like clean cut lithium. Just beneath the surface of the rock was a corner, poking out enough for one of the scouts no notice.
Chattering to each other in their own language, they approached the corner curiously, reaching out hands to touch it. Quite cool, they began to scrape away the surrounding rock, chiselling at it with small chisel-like implements until the last chunk of rock fell leaving the corner fully exposed to be realised as a box. A slight whispering sound began as the box was slid out of its snug casing, whole and covered with twisting runes of many colours.
The scouts gaped in awe. Nothing like this had ever been see before and it must be taken to the Chief of their tribe. Holding it with reverence, they proceeded to the village and then to the tent of the chief, decorated with eagle feathers and spirit stones.
The scouts dropped to their knees as the chief exited his tent, for he had heard the news and wished to see the mysterious artefact.
EDIT: Dang notepad...And I really feel like changing my name...
Hello, everyone. Long time...no see, I guess. An idea I got last night while dreaming. :eek: Weird...
Title: Cheating Death: The Horrors of 2046
Basis: My freakish idea, from my dreams. Ya. That's right. Read on...please?
Genre: Horror, Suspence, Fantasy, Scifi(somewhat).
Characters Needed: One Ascended Human, about 6-7 regular students-turned-freaks, and a couple military generals, and troops.
Summary:
The Year is 2146...a dig site has uncovered an ancient science lab...
"It's amazing what some people leave behind..." One archeolosgist said.
The dark hallway was crumbling. The ceiling was cracked. The place was old...
"The sonar said that this was some sort of lab." His partner said.
As they got to an open room, dust was everywhere. It was getting hard to breathe easily. In the center of the floor, a circliar platform was mysteriously untouched, it's surface smooth. Next to it, a console was also untouched by the erosion of 100 years. The buttons on the console appeared to be working, the lead archeaologist pressed three buttons in order on a panel. The labels were not in english, but Latin.
"Whoa!"
The circliar platform hummed to life, a bright, holographic image of a strand of DNA appeared on it, spiraling upwards. The light lit up the room. At certain points in the image, a label in the same Latin was popping up all over it.
"This is an image of Human DNA..." The lead archeologist said.
He looked onto a screen behind him, and lines and lines of Latin text were scrolling up, down, and sideways across the screen.
"I know Latin...I can read it, but I wouldn't be able to keep up with it." The second archeologist said, who was still gawking at the hologram of DNA.
He went up to the screen, and started to read the first lines on the top...
"This is Auroran Tallon's Research Log...Project:Ascension Day 1" He read.
-----------------
DAY 1:
Already, my colleages are questioning my reasearch...I have just put up all the equipment...and now they want me to take it all down, they say it is "inhumane to
try and reach a higher plane of existance...we were ment to stay here"...it is rubbish to me. I will succeed, even if the test subject is myself...the DNA Manipulator
will respond to me and me only. Even my closest friends are questioning whether to stay and watch me, or go on with their experiments and such...I will continue to
reasearch, test, and succeed, even after death on this plane of existance.
DAY 2:
I have managed to keep the demolition crews at bay...I started to use the machines at my disposal. The DNA Manipulator manipulated it's first sample-a virus known
back then to be "Influenza", I made it harmless by changing several strands in it's DNA, but now the true test has begun. I need a human test subject. But who?
DAY 3:
I have no other choice. I have slept on who...who will subject themselves to have their DNA manipulated? I even promised to revert their DNA when I was done!
I swore by the Holy Bible!! WHY? It is no matter. When I finish this log, I will put the machine on full auto. The DNA implanted will force my mental self to evolve at
a much faster rate. My research has said that the normal human brain uses about 5-10% of it's capabilites at one time. 80-90% is requried for ascension. If all goes
well, with enough treatments in the machine, I will reach that point. The next step will be after I fully implant the strands needed into my brain, to have it adjust until it
approaches 50-60% useage. Then in a time of extreme danger, I will walk into the hibernation chamber, and be frozen in space, and age. But I will be safe until I
ascend...farewell.
---------------
"It ends on Day 3. Maybe...ah! Here we are. ending notes..." The second archeologist said.
-----------------------
FINAL NOTES:
It is June 6th, and all seems to be going well. I am preparing the enter the hibernation chamber. The rest of the school is getting ready to watch an experiment with
the top students in the school. Their plans are to combine human and beast DNA via a gas. They are taking every precaution, but I disgress-I declined to watch. More
important matters of cosmic theory are taking place. Here, in this lab, far below the surface and floors of the school. Farewell, my esteemed colleages, I shall see
you on the next plane of existance...life beyond death. It is only the beginning.
-----------------------
"That's it? Did he succeed?" The lead archeologist asked with a tint of worry, like at any moment the lab would collaspe.
The second archeologist looked at the following lines with sheer terror appearing on his face...
"It's terrible..." He said glumly.
----------------------
There has been an accident with the experiment...the students who watched were exposed to the fusing gas. They are now all changing...but I have sealed myself in.
I now finish this log. I will enter the hibneration chamber, scramble my notes, and translate into Latin, so no one could ever operate my machines. Farewell. For the last
time.
----------------------
"That is terrible...the air is clean above, right?" The lead archeologist asked.
The second nodded in a hastefull manner.
"No abnormals detected in the air. It's clean...but still? What happened on that day?" He asked.
The lights flickered on a distant wall. The revealed chamber was offline, the opening was covered in solid ice. It was cold to the touch.
The lead man walked over, his flashlight revealed the face of a man locked in the ice. He had a gray robe with no shirt, and dark gray jeans. His eyes were closed,
and he hair was a shade of blonde and brown, but his expression made him seem innocent, locked in ice forever.
"This isn't Auroran, right?" The lead man said as he reached for a button on a panel.
The second archeologist, staring at the screen, managed to read out more-
"His name's Khalek Tallon. He kidnapped him while ascended and did the same thing he did to him as himself. So he's almost there, as well." The second archeologist
said.
The lead archeologist pressed a button on a panel. The ice glowed with the light flashing behind it.
"Hey! Don't touch anything!" The second archeologist yelled.
"I was just looking for a light switch!" The lead one said back.
The ice seemed to ripple and disentergate into nothing. The man fell over onto the ground, and the lead archeologist called up the men above on his radio.
"This is Johnson, get a medical team down here ASAP..."
=====================
(100 YEARS AGO)
=====================
You are one of the students at the School for Youth Scientists, heading for an experiment session with the entire school, except for one named Auroran Tallon, for
he wanted to finish up his own first as soon as possible. The experiment shown will involve fusing of human and beast DNA to show to that kid that he didn't need
any "tech-toys" to change DNA. Little do you know, your life will be changed for the worst...forever.
-------------------------------------
Pretty long, eh? Discuss, and no reserving. At all. Okay? I just had to get this out here, see what you thought of it...later.
Tentative Title: Otherworld
Basis: My own brain!! Mwahaa!!
Genre: Fantasy
Characters Needed: 8 maximum
Basic Plot:
Otherworld.
The Border is failing.
Torran Ylldier fled Telone, tripping over the torn remains of his robes as he went, not looking back. His eyes were blurred with tears of pain and incredulity, and what remained of his wing trailed behind him, limp and bloodied, banging against his shoulders now and again. He winced in pain at each bang, but still he ran.
Torran Ylldier ran as if the very demons of hell were chasing him.
The souls of the dead wailed in glee, their howling terrible to hear for the inhabitants of Telone.
‘Free!’
They dived away form the Border, errant souls hell-bent on revenge. For they hated the place in which they were imprisoned. They had been promised an eternity of paradise. Beyond the Border, there was only pain and sorrow. They would take any opportunity that presented itself to them, and here it was. The perfect opportunity, a weak link in the Border, a crack ripe for the exploiting.
And outside, there were souls waiting to be replaced, bodies to be stolen. Minds to take over.
The opportunity was ripe, and the evil ones took it.
The souls of the dead have escaped their prison, and now they roam Telone freely and unhindered, for there is no way of telling that a body is inhabited by a soul that is not it’s own.
No way but one. Each wrong soul leaves an almost undetectable stigmata in the form of a tattoo. Usually swirling in shape and complex, these tattoos are easily hidden, allowing the souls to do their evil work unnoticed.
The evil ones plan to destroy the Border completely, and when they take over a body, the occupying soul is ousted into oblivion, for without the ritualistic rites of death, they cannot pass beyond the Border.
But first, there is the problem of Torran Ylldier. He flees Telone for the knowledge is too much for him to take. He is one of the few who can detect the stigmata of the wrong souls without seeing the tattoos. This power comes in the form of Aura-Sight, an ability to view a person’s aura as it radiates from their soul. A wrong soul has a negative aura, black or deep purples in colour, and they tend to pulse slightly.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Each player has a pick from four races; Demal, the Falith-Hai, the Rae, and Old Humans. Race descriptions can be found below.
There are five wrong souls that can be had, and anyone who wants one should say in their sign-up form, in which they should also put the original name of their character, the race of the character, and the name of the soul which now inhabits the body.
Each wrong soul has a single power, but it’s entirely up to the player as to what it is. PM me of you’re unsure as to what’s allowed...but obviously nothing godlike or ‘uber’ will be allowed.
A few characters will have the ability of Aura-Sight, to a limit of three characters. PM me if you want this ability.
Races.
Old Human: Well, Humans, as the name suggests. No specialised powers, but a select few are born with odd traits or weak magical powers. When magical powers are apparent in Old Humans, they range from being healing, to destructive in nature, the intensity of the power based entirely upon the person.
Include any magical powers in you sign-up, but the character must have a good reason for having them...eg: Their family has some Falith-Hai blood in it.
Demal: The Demal are a winged race who are capable of flight. They are a serene race who tend towards meditative studies and they are quite ritualistic in their daily life, often taking hours to prepare something that could be done sooner by any other race.
The Demal are the Guardians of the Border, and so are more susceptible to being taken over by wrong souls, and they have a rudimentary magic based upon the mind which meditation helps to improve. Abilities such as telekinesis are some of the more common magics.
Include wing colourings and markings in your sign-ups, please.
Rae: The Rae are a swamp-bound race who love damp and dark places. They tend to be quite short with pale hair colours.
They are a magical race, but their magic finds it’s power from the soul of the wielder. Because their magic comes from the soul, there isn’t really any way for it to be evil, as no soul is intrinsically evil. The Rae magic takes the form of healing in most, but some have been known to have other powers, such as weak illusion.
Include magic type in your sign-up and the strength of it.
Falith-Hai: The Falith-Hai are a symbiotic race who join with plants upon their coming of age. This was originally done as a survival instinct, but it has become a tradition that is fiercely continued. The Falith take their home in forest country and they are very close to nature. They have rudimentary magic, as the Demal do, but the Falith magic is natural based and involves tree-speech and communicating with other natural beings.
The Falith-Hai’s symbiotic plants have their own natures and names, so be sure to include them in your sign-up, along with the type of magic your character possesses.
That's it so far...but hey! Anyone interested??
Tentative Title: Blurring of the Line
Basis:Sparked by the RPGMaker game, A Blurred Line
Genre: Sci-fi/fantasy, with an emphasis on how good and evil can be hard to percieve.
Characters needed: 4-5 minimum, will take more if they can be gotten.
Basic Plot:
The group hurried up the tower, a massive complex that heralded the might of technology. The entire building creaked with the strain being put upon it, if they didn't hurry, The sabotuers would release the Power Colony, and everyone would be without power. In the ride up the elevator, they fretted, if the colony was released, not only would they lose their entire power source, the thousand people on board would die. The elevator beeped, and they rushed into the control room. They were almost done. "Stop!" shouted the leader of the group, "Those people don't need to die today!"
One of the sabotuers turned and shouted, "You don't care about those people any more than we do!" And the rest continued releasing the Colony's electromagnetic link.
Then, two of the group rushed them, being fended off just as the last section was released, the sabotuers then fled down an emergency exit...
I don't have time to write it all out now, but I'll get up the form as soon as possible...
I'd like to make an RPG based on World of Warcraft. Any suggestions on how this might work? I'm thinking that we should all be Alliance or all be Hoard... it'll make things easier.
Again, any suggestions?
Haruko.
Yero thropp-- Its a good idea Yero. I think you'ed have to set alot of ground rules though. OR people might get out of hand, and you also have to realize, there has to be a plot of why this rpg is taking place. I don't see many rpgs that give you the free will to 'live another life' so to speak. IT might be cuz they never last.
But still a good idea, I'd probably join. ^_~ Hope you get it up soon.
Kalad- Interesting, but it needs some work. I guess I'm having trouble filling in the blanks. But its a good plot none the less!
Tentative Title - Rain After Dusk
Basis - Pokemon(in a different time) mainly, but with some twists inspired by the Legend of Zelda series, Paper Mario, and as well as my twisted fantasy world.
Genre - Fantasy, Action, Adventure, Drama.
Characters Needed - Various roles expanding from minions of darkness, followers of the gods, and mere rogues involved in the "war" for their own destiny.
Basic Plot -
Life has changed vastly in the Pokemon world ever since the legendary deaths of Maxie and Archie 500 years in the past. Political empires have crumbled, leaving rule only to clan leaders of nomads. Pokemon is still a staple use of people, yet another major reliance of survival depended upon weapons and magic. Magic wielders who had tamed the elements became the Heavenly Sages, who made sure that their gods were pleased and that darkness was kept in tact.
However, the sage who tamed Dark magic became corrupt, and the other sages had to assasinate him. The god of evil ressurected him with his power and magic, making him an immortal almost "Redead", known simply as Dazh(pronounced Doz). Dazh managed to wield various Pokemon and possessed the souls of many people, creating an army of darkness who sealed away the sages in a comatose state, and it was said that the heart of a pure one would revive them...
Believing that it was them, an army of commoners came together, believing that the Fates of Time would allow them to overcome this new wave of evil. However, being mortal, they were also doomed to die. And still, it was believed by the gods that the pure one would be only at random, yet did not say if it'd be one alone, or a selected few would be blessed by the gods' magic. Tentative Title: Crossover Crisis
Basis: RPGs and my own twisted mind
Genre:Fantasy, Sci-fi, adventure, and a bit of everything else thrown in the blender.
Characters needed: Characters from other RPGs you've been in.
Basic Plot:
Three beings, born since the dawn of time, observing all the myriad universes, desperate for a solution. These beings being the very status of perfection were tasked with maintaining law and order for all of eternity. Yet a flaw had happened, the Nexus was in danger, and if anything happened to it, it wouldn't be pretty, for anyone. These three beings who had once marveled at their own perfection now looked upon what had happened in fear and anticipation.
"I say we make our champions out of nothing! It would be wrong to pluck them away from their worlds!" Spoke the red mist. He was the intellectual of the three always looking to create and expand to fix any problem.
"But, if the nexus is harmed, they will suffer greatly! I say we pluck them up, we don't have the time to make new ones!" Declared the blue crystal. She was the impulsive of the three not wanting to waste any time to solve a problem that could be solved today.
"I fear Blue is right, my friend, as much as I hate to inconvienience them, it would take far too long to make champions from nothing. Besides, we can return them nanoseconds after they left, so it will not disrupt their world's fates." Stated a yellow liquid. He was the level headed of the three bringing order and balance to them.
The two other entities thought for a bit, and agreed. They began scanning the worlds, ready to pluck up promising ones. The situation would have to be handled delicately and with great care, yet time was of the essence.
Meanwhile, at the world of the nexus, a storm raged over a mountain. Within, a black entity raged, seeking to break free.
Tentative Title: Anime War XII: Anniversary edition
Basis: All Anime/Video games
Genre: Battle
Characters Needed: Anything, as long as it's a legit character.
Basic Plot: All credit for the original idea goes to World Collision, may he rest in peace. Essentially, everyone who signs up picks an anime/VG character to do battle with. You are placed on a team, and, using your wits and creativity, try and eliminate your opponents. Each character is given an equal number of "Health Bars" and some "Potions" and make posts describing their attacks on an opponent. Last person left with health bars wins! More specific rules will be posted in the topic, just wanted to see if people wanted the ol' Anime War back, since it just reached its 5 year anniversary.
Alright first post in the Yes or No topic in the new RPG Lounge, Well I have been throwing back and forth a idea for a new Mewtations RPG. I got the okay from the original creator to try it, and here is the plot.
Tentative Title: Mewtations 5: Out of the Ashes they shall come
Basis: The Mewtations series from 2001 - 2003
Genre: Pokemon, A little bit Sci Fi, Adventure/Action
Characters Needed: Pre-teens to Teens, the original had kids ranging from I believe 15 and lower so lets try and keep with that.
Basic Plot: It all began with a group of outcast children living on the far side of Mt Moon. It only took one night for their lives to change. On that one night a Team Rocket extermination squad chased one of the last legendaries into that camp of children. The children found that Pokémon, battered and beaten. That Pokémon was Mew, and with its last ounce of strength it bestowed on the children the powers of Pokémon. The children were now thrust into a world that they had tried to escape, a world in which Team Rocket ruled all life with an iron grip. Yet with a little bit of luck and teamwork, the children who had dubbed themselves “the Mewtations” brought down Team Rocket and restored peace and order to the world.
All was well until Mew called upon them again. This time they were sent across the universe to battle an unnatural evil that threatened the lives of Pokémon on another planet. Again they were victorious in battle and returned home. But on their way home they were thrown back into the past and later into the future to battle the last force that would threaten the Pokémon world. Yet the battle was not with out consequences; Annika, one of the first members of the Mewtations, was lost in the future.
With peace restored, the Mewtations settled back down into their lives, only to find a mysterious force threatening them and their children. They soon discovered that Annika had come back from the future and wanted revenge for the Mewtations leaving her there. Annika and the Mewtations fought several battles across the Pokémon world. Those battles ultimately claimed the lives of one of the Mewtation’s children. Annika was finally brought down, and a demoralized group of friends swore off fighting and left the world to its own devices.
20 Years Later
The Mewtations have now retired from worrying about the world. Each of them lives with their families, trying to make the best of their lives. Annika’s death still hangs like a dark cloud over the group of friends, and so they almost never see each other. Meanwhile, the Pokémon world is coming out of the age of chaos. Disorder and power struggles ran rampant when the Mewtations retired, and so one group stood above the rest and restored order to the Pokémon world.
Now that one group, a revitalized Team Rocket, stands to succeed where Giovanni failed. Its extermination squads have slowly been eliminating the legendary Pokémon across the world. Now only Mew, the one Pokémon Team Rocket never caught, remains to be destroyed. Its death would be the final key to call forth the mighty Pokémon from the planet that the Mewtations traveled across space nearly 30 years ago to rescue. Although the tales and exploits of the Mewtations have been reduced to mere fairy tales, the leader of Team Rocket, the terrifying man only known as Mask of Ice, slowly tracks down the Mewtations, capturing or killing them until he finds Mew.
Mew, sensing the death of its friends, rushes away to find help. Desperate and on the run from Team Rocket, it rushes down the streets of Viridian City. It zig-zags through the streets as fast as it can, dashing over buildings and under crawlspaces. Yet the Rocket Extermination squad continues to follow. In a last ditch effort, Mew flies into a junkyard. However it only manages to find a group of children there who are also hiding from a Rocket Extermination Squad after saving a group of Pokémon from being killed. With no choice left, Mew bestows upon these children the power of one Pokémon’s power. These eight children have become the new Mewtations.
Also I want to note that although some characters might be returning, this is mostly a restart with new people and new characters.
Tentative Title: The Forgotten Children
Basis: Pokemon, yet it's mostly from the story I'm about to rewrite, Sooner or Later.
Genre: Action, Fantasy, Angst
Characters Needed: Trainers, Sinners(Team Rocket), Virtuists(Team Aura), and others.
Basic Plot:
When God created his nine children, it was planned that his third child, a daughter named Gaea, would be a perfect place for the descendants of his children to live. Centuries past, and Gaea had given birth to many children, humans and Pokemon alike. God smiled down upon his grandchildren, and Gaea remained protected by her siblings.
That, of course, is a vague description of an old creation tale, where God had created his children, gods and goddesses, the primary being the Mother Goddess, the Earth. Many since time had first been recorded have looked deeply into the creation myth. It had been commonly accepted until the arrival of God's "Perfect Child", a prophet too infamous to state his name. While many had began to follow the faith of this new prophet, some kept faith in the Mother Goddess, and discovered new beings that truly did exist.
Mother Gaea had also given birth to souls without bodies, and each represented personality qualities. Called the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Holy Virtues, there was a trace of these in every person and Pokemon. The Sins were Pride, Lust, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath, Greed, and Sorrow, which was adopted by the followers of the new faith, yet over time they replace Sorrow with Sloth, or laziness. The children known as the Virtues became known as Humility, Chastity, Abstinence, Kindness, Patience, Liberality, and Diligence, which is commonly mixed with Happiness depending on faith.
2005, A.D.(in the year of the Prophet)
Times have greatly changed since the beginning of life for Gaea's children. While many practice the belief in the Prophet and the Mother Goddess, a new cult-like faith worshipping a fallen angel, the nemesis of the Prophet, has arrived. One of these leaders is suprisingly Giovanni Medici, notorious leader of Team Rocket. An old colleague of a man named Joseph Benedict, the two theologists had constantly debated, and rather became enemies, Benedict starting up a team known as Team Aura. Despite the good image of Team Aura saving followers from the sinning of Team Rocket and other cult followers, many hypocrisies had taken place since the beginning, but have not been widely known. Because of that, a new belief of the Mother Goddess followers, called Wiccans, came to be.
Sin, Virtue...both balance to form Purity as past and future balance to create the present. The pure heart of a child may be balanced, as well as an adult scarred with experience. However, the one to balance sin and virtue and create a state of peace called Purity will not be either a child nor an adult, but rather a mix of the two. In other words, an old soul with a young face, or an innocent adolescent who is wise beyond their years. Either could save the world from its fate.
In the midst of the crisis, many Wiccan mothers had taken their teen-aged children to be tested before the leader of a coven, a faith group much like the churches of the Prophet-followers, named Christians. While many had been denied, mothers still had faith in their children, and sent their children on quests to find themselves within the eyes of Pokemon companions. Will the true child ever be found? Only the threads on the blanket of time can reveal...
Kikyo: hmm, I remember that story.
Title: Time Hoppers
Basis: something I came up with while playing Ape Escape
Genre: comedy. mainly a super hero RPG
Characters needed: some of the most rediculous super heroes/villians one can come up with
Basic Plot:
What do you do when a group of totally wacked out and bizzare super villians hijack a time machine and set out to re-right (or rather destroy) history? Send a group of equally wacked out and bizzare super heroes after them stupid!
The year is 2745. Mankind has finally developed the first functioning time machine (that doesn’t reduce the user to a pile of mush). Mankind was now able to go back into the past and find out whether what was written in the history books was true, or just a load of bullcrap.
However, as stated by Murphey’s Law, “If something can go wrong, it will.”
In this case, a group of the most insidious, the most insane, and the most ridiculous super villians imaginable, have siezed control of the time machine and are now intending to do God-knows-what with the fabric of time.
Now, it’s times like this that you need a super hero to save the day.
Unfortunately, none are available, well, at least, none of the good ones.
So, being left with no other choice, the government has called upon the only “super heroes” they could find. Basicly, they just rounded up some random kids that happened to have super powers.
Now, the fate of all mankind, and time, rests in the hands of these “heroes.
…in other words, we’re screwed!
Yeah, I'm tempted to restart one of my RPGs that never got off the ground...
Tentative Title: Kinyu suru no aru Ryu Kokuo (Book of the Dragon King... and yes, the Japanese was jsut an attmept to try and be a pit productive..)
Basis: Own imagination.
Genre: Fantasy, Sci-fi, action/adventure, pre-post Apocalyptic
Characters Needed: 6 Dragon Gods, various players to be pawns or wild-cards during the conflict.
Basic Plot:
[color=red]
Dragon Claw, and Dragon Scale.
Always Fighting, Tooth and Nail.
From the Farthest Reaches.
Thou shall fight till Time Ceases.
When the Grand Dragon will Revive.
Heralding the End of All Time.
Dragon of Dark, Dragon of Light.
Still thou must fight.
Water and Fire, Still teetering.
Whether one wins, the other losing.
Winds from the Sky, the Earth Quakes.
Breaking the land in your wakes.
Forever, you will be sealed.
So the land can be healed.
But the bonds, Time will break.
And once again the ground shall quake...
(An ancient Scripture found in a Remote Chinese Temple)
Over the centuries, tales of Dragons and their deeds have sparked imaginations over the globe. But in the present day and age of computers and mechanics, such ancient tales are forgotten or ignored.
While tales are recounted in books of lore and myth, there exists a single book, which can revive, if not create Dragons.
This book, known only as the Book of the Dragon King has sifted through history and found it's way to the present.
The sons and daughters of the Grand Dragon, unhappy at their siblings but yet need each other for balance, had to be sealed up because of their constant feuding. Since then, their bonds have been kept in check by the Book of the Dragon King, which holds the key to the locks.
Items also exist in connection with this book. Able to unlock certain potential within an individual. Such potential can manifest itself into a physical form, the form of a dragon.
These items take many forms, some in the ancient Pearls of Wisdom, some Dragon Kings held in their hands, others included Jewels, scales, fangs, bones, and other artifacts, used as family heirlooms or for spiritual channeling.
Ancient Magic that protected the Dragons of yore still lives. Magic so old that it comes from a Grand Dragon, the Father of all ancient and old Dragons.
A Dragon so old and so powerful, that if he was released, the world could crumble.
There is an organization, with a single ambition. Using genetic engineering and modern science, they have broken down the magic into easier forms to be used on a much more massive scale. They are obsessed with dragons, and have cloned or created dragons of their own, with no will other than to serve their creators. Their one goal, is to revive the Grand Dragon and have him cleanse the planet of all human civilization.
The “book” can only be ready by those that have the potential to overcome the evil in the world. To unite and purify it's people. To find out what it truly means to be Dragons.
Yeah, I'd like to start this thing back up again ^^
Here's a little something I came up with while playing Soul Caliber 3
Title: Souls (if you've got a better idea for a title, PM me)
Basis: Soul Caliber, TPM (yep, another TPM RPG)
Genre: hmm, a little bit of everything really.
Characters needed: members of TPM who are after the swords White Soul and Black Soul (for one reason or another).
Basic Plot:
In a time long forgotten, but yet still remembered by few, there was a conflict of epic proportions that threatened to rip the TPM apart.
An evil god, whose name has been long forgotten forged a weapon from the souls of those corrupted and tainted with evil. A weapon whose power was unrivaled. While the real name of this weapon was forgotten, but today, it’s known as Black Soul.
However, another god, one of light, forged a second weapon, one from the purest souls this world had to offer. This weapon is now known as White Soul.
The two gods faced off and while whoever came out as the victor was long forgotten, both weapons were sealed away and the planet, along with all life, survived. Many believed that this was the end of all this madness.
However, they were wrong…
Hundreds of years later, one man set out to release the power of Black Soul. One of the three Emperors of TPM, a man named Mike, became hungry for more power. He desired to rule TPM instead of sharing the power with the other two emperesses. When one of the emperesses, Ginger, dissappeared, his ambition for power grew even stronger. He then learnt of the legend of Black Soul.
He set out to retrieve the evil weapon and after a year finally succeeded. With this power, Mike set out on his campaign to conquer TPM. However, it was foolish for him to trust in the power of Black Soul. As he continued to fight, Black Soul’s will crept into Mike’s mind, slowly taking control of him. Eventually the weapon posessed Mike completely.
But all was not lost. The second emperess of TPM, Kalah sought to defeat Mike and destroy Black Soul. In order to do so, Kalah sought out and released the second weapon, White Soul. The two fought in the ruins of the old castle. After a long, tiring battle Kalah succeeded in vanquishing Mike and with White Soul, shattered Black Soul. She had the fragments of the dark weapon scattered throughout TPM.
However, one of these fragments ended up in the hands of Benjamin, one of Kalah’s allies and the chief alchemist of TPM. Desiring to learn more about this weapon, Ben took the fragment back to the castle for study. He studied for years, learning the legends and rumours behind the two swords, eager to learn all their secrets and how they were even made.
His thirst for knowledge became an obsession, even to the point that he desired to rebuild the weapon. With the help of friends and subordinates, Ben managed to gather enough fragments in secret to rebuild it. However, when he placed the final peices, the will of Black Soul awoke. Slowly, the weapon managed to creep into Ben's mind and eventually took control of him. Sealing Ben's will away, deep inside of him, the newly revived Black Soul named himself, Maccabre. The first thing this demonc being did was ransack the castle, shattering the only thing that could threaten it, White Soul, and sending its pieces to the far ends of TPM.
However, even though Black Soul was powerful, it was still incomplete, and lacking the power it possessed before. And so, Maccabre set out to collect the remaining fragments and complete Black Soul.
Although, there are numerous others who have grown aware of this and set, either to collect the fragments of Black Soul or White Soul. Their reasons for this may differ, but their goals are similar.
A grand tale, of swords and souls, is about to begin.
What do you think? I'm still working on it.
Genre: It's a bit of everything really.
Title: Lullaby's Consequence
Basis:My own warped mind
Genre: Fantasy and Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Characters needed: varied protagonists (plot holds more details on this)
Quick Summary:
In the year Empire's Birth 3493, a strange occurence happened. Throughout the varied worlds and colonies of the Arcadian Empire, small Dimensional storms, more commonly called D-Storms, popped up. People caught in these small, five foot radius fluxes of reality fell unconscious, and refused to wake up. This was worrisome, due to the high number of young children involved. And all attempts at using standard MysTek scanning systems brought no clues.
Little did they know, but the minds and souls of those people were dragged to a world in an alternate universe, known as Korotala. Here was a world of swords and sorcery, primitive and unusual. They had gained new bodies, and were found and aided by the natives the encountered. For them, twelve long years passed, and many forgot their origings almost completely as they adapted to a new life. Many rose to prominent positions, ones of fame and fortune. But... it was not to last.
Now, in the year EB 3496, the minds and souls of the people suddenly return. Twelve years for them, but three for their original bodies, they have a long road ahead of them. Complicating matters, the Arcadian Empire is now at war with a previously unencountered race, the Skraa, a beastial and lizardlike race, seeking to make all the Arcadian Empire into their slaves. Peace cannot be guarenteed for those who have awakened...
Back in Korotala, the sudden vanishing of these people does not go unnoticed.....
Alright. Decided upon a remake of an old RPG, so here it is...
Tentative Title: I'll probably go for its original name, "Forgiven Memory."
Basis: Digimon, and my inner world
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, and maybe a little Angst along the road.
Characters Needed: At least 10-15 Chosen Children, which can be a total mix of characters. With 20 crests, I don't expect all to be taken.
Basic Plot:
Ten elements, two worlds. Fire, Ice, Wind, Thunder, Wood, Water, Soul, Light, Earth, and Metal were the elements which stood, providing a divine law of the land in which the lives of people and spirits were based off of. The worlds were Earth and the Divine Realm. Since time had began, these elements had ran wild, beasts often running across the countryside, without anybody to tame them. This remained until a young priestess, a woman known to her region as Chinatsu, was called upon by the gods and responsibility thrust upon her. Wise and pious, she learned the secrets hidden behind these elements, and somehow managed to master them.
However, this peace lasted only a few years. Civil war broke out in the country, the origin of this war being a vampiric man who only called himself 'Myotismon.' He convinced many into believing his virtues considered the sins, which he promised those who followed him eternal life and power. Seeing the dangers of this, Chinatsu and a simple shinobi named Katsuro, together sought out Myotismon, and an ultimate battle was waged. Even though victorious, the heroes perished. However, before their death, the spirits of the elements appeared before them. Taking their favored elements, the two inscribed their names upon their choice, and then their souls faded into the blanket of time.
Most of the elements mourned over the death of the heroes of the world. However, the proud element of Light decided to create three spirits powerful over the others. These spirits became known as Seraphimon, Orphanimon, and Cherubimon. Seeing inferiority in the spirits, they goaded them into the Divine Realm and separated the two worlds, the legends of the priestess, ninja, and of the spirits forgotten.
In panic, the elements divided into two and razed the border in order to find an escape. Saddened by their failed attempts, they waited patiently. And then the technological age came on Earth, and they were mysteriously reunited. However, at the same time, an angelic child known as Lucemon was born. Of an evil mind, being the reincarnate of Myotismon, he captured half of the elements as his own, and seeing how Light wasn't in his grasp, created the element of Darkness from the shadows. He then created the crests, the essence of his elements, and sent them to random children on Earth. Seeing this, the trinity of justice did the same, and wondered if this was another attempt at war.
These crests all represented a trait inside the children's hearts. They were Courage and Cowardice of Fire, Friendship and Loneliness of Ice, Love and Lust of Wind, Knowledge and Ignorance of Thunder, Reliability and Betrayal of Water, Sincerity and Vanity of Forest, Hope and Sin of Soul, Light, Darkness, Kindness and Cruelty of Earth, and finally Miracles and Fate of Metal. While the fact of eleven elements remained, the twenty crests remained balanced, causing no worries to neutral Digimon.
Basis: Underworld, The Matrix, AeonFlux, The Island.
Genre: Sci Fi / Fantasy
Characters Needed: ShardS. (Explained in Plot)
Basic Plot:
白與黑
White and Black
In the far future, the world will be dominated by a single controlling government that keeps everything from going out of hand. Let alone let anything relatively exciting happen. The Government, called ‘Noir”.
No one really knows why, as this government came to power at the beginning of the 21st century, and ever since, has had dominance over every single piece of land on Earth.
Noir has had this power, even when a rebellious organization calling themselves “Blanco” opposed them 50 years into their reign. The ‘Blanco’ organization fell, defeated as Noir had superior numbers and technology.
But soon enough the persistent rebellious organization struck back again, this time, digging a well sized hole into the Noir power system, and shaking the beliefs of the Noir followers…
Mysteriously throughout the night, your house, as well as a couple of others in your sector, have break ins, you panic, not knowing what to do due to the usually serene and dull life your used to. When the Intruders tell you to pass them your ID bracelet, you do, so many horrible things crossing your mind as they scan it into a small computer, before handing it back to you, and tell you to keep your mouth shut about this occurrence… Or else…
In the morning, when your parents ask you what happened, you shrug, and say you have no idea. Having lied for your first time, your surprised them the bracelet does not flash red, and instead, flashes blue, indicating you were speaking the truth.
That night, at exactly 9:31 pm. The bracelet that you’ve worn for so long, undoes itself. Falling from your wrist, onto whatever surface is below you. You blink, not understanding the resent events; you desperately try to put the bracelet back on. Instead, it doesn’t clip, and fries, burning you hand a bit.
You’re once wonderful life takes a horrible turn to the worst, when Noir finds out you have no bracelet; they immediately begin to hunt you down, viciously capturing you, and locking you away, inside the Cyro Prison…
Your life pauses. As you don’t age, don’t learn, only dream…
That is until; your dark slumber is rudely interrupted by a message…
Your Journey Begins Now
We your eyes open, you’re astonished to find out that you, and the others that had break ins are in a white room surrounded by what you presume are ‘doctors’, they analyze you, inject an odd liquid into each one of you.
Immediately you collapse, falling into the well-known darkness that you were in just shortly before.
Welcome. You are about to begin your training. Let me inform you that anything you feel in this world will be directly linked to the outside. This is to train you to believe that what you see around you is nothing more then electrical signals and pulses from the fooled mind.
Before that, let me update you on what has happened during the time you were in Cyro-status…
2015: 08/12- Noir uses chemical weapons on Blanco populated Sectors.
2016: 01/01- Blanco Retaliates with the X Virus to turn 13 out of 20 Noir Sectors in massive grave sites.
2020: 31/05- Noir creates a virtual world in which they have control over many minds, ShardS were not included, left in Cyro-status.
Apologies, Years 2020: 01/06 to 2100:01/01 are CLASSIFIED
2101: 20/04- ShardS were recovered from Noir. Training will began shortly.
Now… Prepare for Battle…
Shortly after you finished uploading your training into your head, your feel a weird sensation as the program disappears, and you awake to have a hefty ‘plug’ pulled from the back of your head.
“Welcome…” Says a rather chilling man dressed is all white robes, and long white hair tied in a neat braid. His crystal blue eyes showed age, while his face reflected wisdom. But something about him seemed… off… “My name is Blake Blanco.” He bowed. “You all have been chosen to become the ‘ShardS’."
Remembering the Title, one of you raises your hand. “ShardS?”
“Yes… ShardS: creations that have the power to wield the Shards of the White Sword.” He seemed to look you all in the eye simultaneously. “The Sword that will liberate our kind from the Darkness…”
Well I promised a friend I would try my hand at a Yu Gi Oh plot, so here goes.
Tentative Title: [i]City of [i]White
[b]Basis: Yuu Gi Oh GX * Japanese Plot *
Genre: Card Game, Action, Adventure
Characters Needed: High School teens ranging in the age of 14 to 18
