Return of Rhita Gawr
It’s the year 2003, centuries after the great battle at Estonahenj, now known as Stonehenge, on the legendary Isle of Fincayra. The young wizard Merlin then left the Isle, destined for greatness. After his departure, the Island disappeared.
Until now.
A strange island has mysteriously appeared in the North Atlantic Ocean, filled with strange creatures. Any scientists who try to get near the island have mysteriously vanished in a shroud of mist.
Meanwhile, a group of kids in England have woken from a nightmare.
You are one of those kids. You wake up in the night, and something is wrong. You feel strange, drawn to the sea. You run/ride/whatever to the ocean to discover several others there as well. You all set to work building a raft. By morning, it is finished. You cast the craft into the sea and set off. To where, you don’t know.
ABRIDGED VERSION:
Fincayra has mysteriously appeared off the coast of the UK. You and some others, feeling drawn there, build a raft and set off. And, of course, you don’t know it’s Fincayra till you get there. There's more to the plot that will be revealed once the RPG starts.
Form:
~Name:
~Age: 12-15
~Gender:
~Race: Fincayran, Deer-person, Dwarf, Goblin (only one), Wood-elf, Dragon (only one, must be small)
~Looks: How you look in Fincayra. Yes, you’d be wearing normal street clothes, not tunics and stuff.
~Personality:
~Weapons: Medieval-style only, please.
~Powers: Ooh, magic…
~Relations:
~Other:
Info on the races:
Fincayran:
Fincayra’s main race, they look like regular people, except their ears are slightly pointed and wings protrude from between their shoulder blades.
Ailments: This is what’s wrong with you when you wake up at night. Fincayran characters will awake to find their ears a tiny bit more pointy than usual and their shoulder blades aching.
Deer-person:
Fincayrans who have the ability to become a deer by running fast. Their chins are narrow, and they usually have brown hair.
Ailments: Same as for Fincayran, plus a slight stiffness in hands and feet. Boys will have a headache.
Dwarf:
Dwarfs are very short, only about three feet tall. The older men have long, snarled beards. Dwarfs are expert tunnel-diggers and axe-fighters. They are fierce fighters with a bad attitude.
Ailments: Dwarf players will find themselves a few inches shorter, and will be in a bad mood.
Goblin:
Once again, only one. Goblins are burly warriors with green-tinged skin. They are nearly as fierce as Dwarfs, and most are pretty uneducated (they talk badly). They can lift very heavy loads, and most heft large broadswords or crossbows.
Ailments: The Goblin character will probably notice a slight green color to their skin, and will be a little more muscular than they were before.
Wood-elf:
Wood-elves are short, not much taller than Dwarfs. Most are girls. They are good at hiding, especially in forested areas with lots of trees. Wood-elves are great archers and problem solvers.
Ailments: Like the Dwarf, the Elf character will be a bit shorter.
Dragon:
Again, only one, for porposes of not having a charecter as big as a mountain. Some dragons can talk. They can breathe fire and smoke, and most are cold-blooded killers.
Ailments: A faint tingling in the skin, and a faint soreness between shoulder blades and lower back.
Ok, finally, here’s my sign up. You can only have one card.
~Name: Arnen
~Age: 12
~Gender: F
~Race: Deer-person
~Looks: Sort of tall, light brown hair, large grey-green eyes, narrow chin. Wears a green top with holes in the back for her wings and khaki cargos.
~Personality: Quiet and thoughtful, and good at solving problems.
~Weapons: A pair of daggers in scabbards that hang at her sides. She also has a blowgun and feather-tipped darts. Later gains a lilac staff (ya' know, from a lilac tree, it's thick and smooth, with light grey bark, and is strong and sort of flexible--it's not magic at all, just a staff)
~Powers: To become a deer, flight, and can make light green fireballs in her hands.
~Relations: None yet.
~Other: Blah.
I suggest reading T.A. Barron's Lost Years of Merlin series, at least The Wings of Merlin, the final one.. If I can find a map of Fincayra, I'll post it.
