I am sure that this is old news for some of you, but I figured I would post it anyway, since, hopefully, it should be released this year. I tend to admire Alienware products from a distance, due to the often high price, but I would probably buy this.

the damn thing was supposed to be released on Q4 2004, and instead it winds up in Wired News' 8th annual Vaporware Awards (http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,66195,00.html?tw=wn_tophead_1#cdesc1)

Aye, SLI will kick ass. Now we get to find out who can afford two decent PCI express cards ~___~ and have all the gaming power they need.

Edit: Just found out that there will be a quad 6600gt SLI system here (
http://www.digit-life.com/news.html?112573#112573). The way they said it would work is that if you have Two dual boards in SLI, each GPU gets X4 PCI Epress bandwidth and renders 25% of the screen.

Unfortunatley tho 2x6600GTs < 1x6800GT

They both used to be cheaper. That 6800GT was $500 around Christmas and that 6600GT was $150.

And yeah it IS expensive.

Well, there isn't really going to be a point to this for awhile. Right now the only thing good about it is that hardcore gamers can get the extra power if they need it.
