Poll's a coverup on a selfish request actually. Anyway, for me at the moment, WMP, version 10 i believe, since i got no other player than can play AVI.

Anyway, my question. I've heard of a certain player which, instead of using codecs installed in the computer, has its own codecs installed in it, which means it can play virtually every type of format including OGM and MKV, the 2 newest types of video file types. But since the codecs are in-built, playing the same video on other programs still require the codecs to be installed.

So like, I'm looking for this player, if anyone can direct me to it. Just the name if I can't have the link to it. Installing codecs in my computer is clogging it up, and I would rather install just one player than 20 codecs should my computer crash.

So yeah, thx.

Check the Binary District. I use Windows Media Player 10 and the VLC Player. I use Cyberlink PowerDVD 4.0 to play DVD's and screen captures.

What this has to do with Other Anime is beyond me...

I don't really have a default media player, since sometimes things I play work in only one of them.

Winamp 2.95 and VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc) are my players of choice (VLC is even better because it's native to both *nix and Win32 platforms). For codecs, DefilerPak (http://hellninjacommando.com/defilerpak) is unbeatable and wins hands-down against any other codec pack.

foobar (http://www.foobar2000.org/). 8) does what i want to without all the bloat of winamp, etc. :)

Whatever, the standards do me. For music I use iTUNES as it has lots of music I transferred onto it. Although it is annoying how it changes to the next track a few seconds from the end. For videos, I don't usually watch much but its either windows media player or some dell program that is default on my computer, whatever one auto starts first.

if it changes to the next track before the first is finished, check if crossfading is enabled
For me, I tend to use creative mediasource, the media player that came with my MP3 player. It's the only one that gives crystal clear output to my stereo. Winamp and WMP both produce buzz on my tweeters.

Forgot about Winamp for music.

I use The Core Media Player (http://www.corecodec.com/) for viewing video and Winamp for listening to music. I occasionally use DivX for video, but that's rare.

Um, sorry if I wasn't clear enough, I meant what player do you use to watch your anime. I'll edit it in my first pst to prevent further confusion.

Sorry
