mod questions.

i downloaded a covenant elite for JK:JA from polycount, and i put it in the gamdata base folder thing. i checked in the options for mods, but i didn't see anything! this IS my first time to mod, but do i have to make a shortcut and put something in the target or should i just play the game without it? also, would any of you know what gfx_palettes for half-life would be?

You're only supposed to put mods in the gamedata folder, not the base folder.

EDIT: nope. i put it in gamedata and that didn't work. i think i'll give up.
