mr_pikachu
9th September 2005, 01:10 PM
Does there have to be a rule that requires it? Shouldn't a worker just consider it his or her obligation?

Lady Vulpix
9th September 2005, 01:15 PM
But why?

Knight of Time
9th September 2005, 02:09 PM
Do you guys think the subject needs to be changed right about now?

Lady Vulpix
9th September 2005, 02:16 PM
Why? Does it make you uncomfortable to have the conversation revolve around you?

mr_pikachu
9th September 2005, 02:25 PM
Would being the center of attention make you uncomfortable, Gabi?

Knight of Time
9th September 2005, 02:33 PM
Why would a conversation have to be uncomfortable around me when that isn't always the case?

mr_pikachu
9th September 2005, 03:16 PM
Wasn't that the reason why you wanted us to change the subject? If it wasn't, then what was the reason?

Fett One
9th September 2005, 11:06 PM
Is there ever a legitimate reason to change the subject?

Lady Vulpix
10th September 2005, 04:08 PM
Why not? Would you rather be talking about the same thing for the rest of your life?

Knight of Time
10th September 2005, 04:18 PM
Would you hate to get bored if you always talked about the same thing each time?

mr_pikachu
10th September 2005, 07:23 PM
When would a person not hate being bored?

Fett One
10th September 2005, 07:35 PM
How about when they want to go to sleep?

mr_pikachu
10th September 2005, 08:50 PM
Are you bored when you go to sleep?

Lady Vulpix
10th September 2005, 08:51 PM
Or how about people who never get bored and therefore don't know boredom enough hate it?

mr_pikachu
10th September 2005, 08:56 PM
Is there a reason my post was ignored? Should I take offense at a small affront such as that?

Lady Vulpix
11th September 2005, 10:36 AM
Did you know your post wasn't there when I typed my reply?
Wasn't the question directed at Jeff anyway?

Fett One
11th September 2005, 11:41 AM
Should people start checking the time that post are made to avoid accusing people of ignoring their post?

mr_pikachu
11th September 2005, 01:49 PM
Don't you realize that I was being facetious?

Lady Vulpix
11th September 2005, 03:54 PM
What's the use of being facetious?

mr_pikachu
11th September 2005, 04:02 PM
Don't you think it's a fun personality quirk to have?

Lady Vulpix
11th September 2005, 08:11 PM
Do you think so?
Did you know that facetious was Word of the Day on May 7, 2000 on Dictionary.com?

mr_pikachu
11th September 2005, 08:14 PM
Doesn't my use of it suggest my enjoyment of it?

And how did you find that fact out?

Lady Vulpix
11th September 2005, 08:18 PM
Why don't you see for yourself (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=facetious)?

Fett One
11th September 2005, 10:26 PM
Did you come across that because you were looking up the meaning of the word or were you just curios to see if it was used as a "word of the day"?

mr_pikachu
11th September 2005, 10:26 PM
Do you think she always looks up unfamiliar words on dictionary.com?

Lady Vulpix
12th September 2005, 09:16 AM
Don't you think I have more than one source of information when it comes to words and their meanings?

mr_pikachu
12th September 2005, 09:34 AM
Are you referring to the Lingo Lexicon?

Lady Vulpix
12th September 2005, 09:46 AM
Where in the Lingo Lexicon can you find the meaning of a word?

mr_pikachu
12th September 2005, 10:46 PM
Isn't it a general source of information on words? Does a vocabulary source have to include definitions to be useful?

Fett One
13th September 2005, 07:18 PM
How can it be useful if it doesn't include definitions?

mr_pikachu
13th September 2005, 07:21 PM
Don't you think that proper spelling is important?

Shinryu0
14th September 2005, 08:04 AM
Eh, isn't mango juice more important than spelling or definitions? Or Lingo Lexicon?

mr_pikachu
14th September 2005, 04:12 PM
How can you compare mango juice to knowledge of the English language?

Knight of Time
14th September 2005, 07:19 PM
Why compare mango juice to the knowledge of the English language? Doesn't that sound a bit silly?

Fett One
14th September 2005, 09:40 PM
Do things that sound silly bug you?

Knight of Time
14th September 2005, 09:43 PM
Why would silly things bug me when they hardly even affect my mood at the time?

mr_pikachu
15th September 2005, 12:41 AM
How were we supposed to know that they don't affect your mood?

Lady Vulpix
15th September 2005, 02:08 PM
Do you think he expects everyone to know him well?

Shinryu0
15th September 2005, 02:35 PM
Maybe he's a little ticked because of something that happened to him recently? Why else would he say "at the time"?

Knight of Time
15th September 2005, 03:05 PM
Why would I be upset at anything that just happened to me when I am actually not upset right now?

Lady Vulpix
15th September 2005, 03:24 PM
Will you please stop assuming that people already know how you feel?

Fett One
15th September 2005, 07:41 PM
Are there other things about people that we should stop assuming about, besides feelings?

Knight of Time
15th September 2005, 07:47 PM
Shouldn't people be careful about making assumptions regarding someone, whether or not those assumptions are right?

mr_pikachu
16th September 2005, 12:35 AM
Is there ever an appropriate time to make an assumption about someone you only know from an internet forum?

Shinryu0
16th September 2005, 05:13 AM
Why do I have a feeling that Knight of Time highly dislikes me? Is it because I made an assumption about him?

mr_pikachu
16th September 2005, 05:17 AM
Why would you think that Kyle dislikes you?

Shinryu0
16th September 2005, 05:20 AM
Don't you think it seems he was a little angry at me for making an assumption about him?

mr_pikachu
16th September 2005, 05:30 AM
What part of his post seemed angry? For that matter, which post seemed angry?

Shinryu0
16th September 2005, 05:35 AM
Hmm, could it be that I made another wrong assumption?

mr_pikachu
16th September 2005, 05:36 AM
Do you think that assuming the emotions of other people based on posts in an internet game is a wise idea?

Shinryu0
16th September 2005, 05:38 AM
Now I think you're a little mad at me, maybe I should just stop making assumptions? And why are the posts going betwwen you and me? And why are we switching topics, from this one to hangman? WHERE IS EVERYONE?!

mr_pikachu
16th September 2005, 05:41 AM
Could it be that most people are asleep? Did you know that it's 5:40 in the morning where I live?

And why keep making assumptions when you appear to be wrong time after time?

Shinryu0
16th September 2005, 05:42 AM
Did I make an assumption in my last post? And don't you think you should be asleep? Don't you have work or school or something?

Fett One
16th September 2005, 01:39 PM
Could it be that most people are asleep? Did you know that it's 5:40 in the morning where I live?

Why are you up at that time? Do you enjoy sleeping in the afternoon or something?

Did I make an assumption in my last post? And don't you think you should be asleep? Don't you have work or school or something?

Doesn't you thinking that he is a little mad at you count as making an assumption? Why are you so concerned with what everyone else thinks?

mr_pikachu
17th September 2005, 03:44 PM
Why are you up at that time? Do you enjoy sleeping in the afternoon or something?

Do you think I might just have a really, really weird sleeping schedule?

Doesn't you thinking that he is a little mad at you count as making an assumption? Why are you so concerned with what everyone else thinks?

Isn't thinking that I have work or school also an assumption? Does his making an assumption matter if that particular assumption happened to be right?

Shinryu0
18th September 2005, 08:45 AM
Why are you so concerned with what everyone else thinks?

[color=orange]...You don't care what other people think of you? Do you walk around in a hot pink shirt, scarlet pants, orange socks, and high heels or something?

[b]Isn't thinking that I have work or school also an assumption? Does his making an assumption matter if that particular assumption happened to be right?[color=orange]

AMGAWD0RZXZ do you mean to say that I finally got an assumption right? Really??? I don't need to pinch myself?

Lady Vulpix
18th September 2005, 10:22 AM
Why would you have to pinch yourself, even if you'd made a wrong assumption?

Fett One
18th September 2005, 11:06 AM
Don't people usually pinch themselves to make sure they aren't dreaming?

Shinryu0
18th September 2005, 11:39 AM
Don't you think I meant that I was dreaming? And since I got my last four or five assumptions wrong, what's wrong with expressing my joy for getting one right?

Lady Vulpix
18th September 2005, 02:28 PM
Who said expressing your joy was wrong?

mr_pikachu
18th September 2005, 03:10 PM
Weren't you the one who insinuated that pinching yourself is bad, Gabi?

But why would you pinch yourself, anyway? If it was a dream, would you want to wake up from it, Shinryu0?

Shinryu0
18th September 2005, 03:28 PM
Wouldn't you want to know if you're only dreaming or if it's happening in real life?

mr_pikachu
18th September 2005, 03:29 PM
Why would you want to know? Isn't ignorance bliss?

Is anyone angry that I'm bringing up the "ignorance" topic again?

Shinryu0
18th September 2005, 03:37 PM
Isn't ignorance...well, ignorant? You can't live in ignorance all your life, can you?

mr_pikachu
18th September 2005, 03:59 PM
Why couldn't you?

Fett One
18th September 2005, 04:39 PM
Would the people that know you even allow you to live a life of ignorance?

mr_pikachu
18th September 2005, 04:45 PM
What if you don't know anyone?

Lady Vulpix
18th September 2005, 04:52 PM
How is "you can't live in ignorance all your life" supposed to be a question?
Do you really think ignorange is bliss anyway? And can a person survive without knowing anyone?

mr_pikachu
18th September 2005, 05:12 PM
Do you think Shinryu0 wasn't yet a member of TPM when we had our discussion about how adding a phrase like "right?" to the end of a statement didn't count in making it a question?

What if a person was abandoned in the wilderness as an infant and had to survive there? Does anyone see a similarity between that and "The Jungle Book"?

Fett One
18th September 2005, 06:17 PM
How does being "abandoned in the wilderness as an infant" count as ignorance? Is this an attempt to get us to talk about the "The Jungle Book"? If it is, then why do you want to talk about "The Jungle Book"?

Lady Vulpix
18th September 2005, 07:41 PM
Can those babies survive if there isn't at least a wolf or a monkey or someone that decides to take care of them?

Fett One
18th September 2005, 10:13 PM
Wouldn't a wolf be more likely to eat a baby rather than take care of it?

Lady Vulpix
20th September 2005, 03:13 PM
Doesn't that only happen in fairy tales? When did you hear about a real wolf eating a person?

mr_pikachu
20th September 2005, 04:55 PM
Would a wolf eat a person if it was starving?

Fett One
20th September 2005, 07:27 PM
Why wouldn't it? Wouldn't you eat a person if you were starving and had no other choice?

mr_pikachu
20th September 2005, 07:36 PM
Wouldn't that be inhumane? And isn't it a little different since I'm a human, too?

Fett One
20th September 2005, 08:44 PM
In that case then, would a wolf eat another wolf if it was starving to death? Also, do you believe that a person can turn into a Wendigo if they eat a lot of people?

mr_pikachu
20th September 2005, 08:58 PM
What is a Wendigo?

Fett One
20th September 2005, 10:08 PM
How is it you have never heard about the legend of Wendigo? Didn't you ever hear the native american legend about how a person can turn into a Wendigo (an incredibly strong and immortal creature) by eating other humans?

mr_pikachu
20th September 2005, 10:13 PM
Where on earth did you hear about something like that?

Chris Watarimono
20th September 2005, 10:39 PM
Would it be cool if such Wendigo was sighted in real life?

-Chris R.

Fett One
20th September 2005, 10:50 PM
Where on earth did you hear about something like that?

Why don't you perform a google search if you don't believe me?

Would it be cool if such Wendigo was sighted in real life?

-Chris R.

How would discovering a creature that will eat you be cool?

mr_pikachu
20th September 2005, 11:12 PM
What if I don't have time to search the internet?

Knight of Time
21st September 2005, 06:35 PM
What if nobody else had time to search the internet?

Fett One
21st September 2005, 08:02 PM
Shouldn't atleast one person have the time to perform a search?

mr_pikachu
22nd September 2005, 12:25 AM
What would happen if everyone on the planet was simultaneously too busy to perform an internet search?

Fett One
22nd September 2005, 08:34 PM
Wouldn't that signify the beginning of the apocalypse?

mr_pikachu
23rd September 2005, 02:45 PM
Why would you think that?

Knight of Time
23rd September 2005, 02:51 PM
Why would anyone think about an apocalypse when it unfortunately might never happen?

mr_pikachu
23rd September 2005, 02:52 PM
Why would that be unfortunate?

Knight of Time
23rd September 2005, 02:57 PM
Why would you ask if it's unfortunate when you realize that there might be no chance of a certain organization that virtually nobody likes getting put out of the picture forever?

mr_pikachu
23rd September 2005, 03:16 PM
What organization are you talking about? And even if that organization is destroyed, isn't it all for nothing if humanity isn't around to enjoy their absence?

Knight of Time
23rd September 2005, 03:21 PM
Why would you ask the name of the group, which happens to be al-Qaida? Does anyone think they will never be able to destroy the whole world, meaning they will fall apart someday?

mr_pikachu
23rd September 2005, 03:24 PM
Why would you assume that they couldn't destroy the world? Aren't there possible circumstances in which that could happen?

Knight of Time
23rd September 2005, 03:27 PM
Do you realize that they seem to mainly intend on destroying major cities of the United States? Do you believe me when I say that they will never conquer the world, on account of that one place they probably won't attack is Canada?

mr_pikachu
23rd September 2005, 03:34 PM
Do you believe that they're sane enough to only bomb strategic targets? Aren't their "reasons" for the attacks proof enough that they're out of their minds?

Fett One
23rd September 2005, 06:21 PM
Even so, if they got their hands on a nuclear weapon, isn't there a chance that they could kill off all of humanity by accident?

Knight of Time
23rd September 2005, 06:47 PM
Wouldn't they have to get an ultraton of nuclear weapons to do such a task that is definitely impossible?

Fett One
23rd September 2005, 08:13 PM
Haven't you ever heard of nuclear fallout? Under the right circumstances, couldn't the fallout from just one bomb cause a nuclear winter all over the planet?

mr_pikachu
24th September 2005, 07:33 PM
How big would that one bomb have to be? And what do you mean by "the right circumstances"?

Knight of Time
24th September 2005, 07:59 PM
Why discuss the size of a bomb when they are another disliked thing? And does anyone realize there is no such thing as an eternal aka permanent season?

mr_pikachu
24th September 2005, 08:11 PM
Isn't the size of the bomb important if we're discussing what it would take to create nuclear winter around the globe? And isn't anything possible?

Chris Watarimono
24th September 2005, 08:24 PM
Why does size has to matter? Doesn't anyone realize that the biggest things come in small packages?

-Chris R.

Fett One
24th September 2005, 08:27 PM
Isn't a world wide nuclear winter only caused under certain type of wind patterns not the size of the bomb?

Aren't women the ones that think size matters?

mr_pikachu
24th September 2005, 08:39 PM
Wouldn't a bomb have to be big to cause devastation on a worldwide scale, regardless of wind patterns?

And do you think that size matters?

Fett One
25th September 2005, 12:01 PM
Why does it matter if I think it matters?

Lady Vulpix
25th September 2005, 12:15 PM
Who says women think that size matters? Aren't men the ones who are talking about sizes all the time?

mr_pikachu
25th September 2005, 08:18 PM
How can you be sure that all men think that way?

Lady Vulpix
25th September 2005, 08:35 PM
Are all men or all women likely to share any kind of thoughts?

mr_pikachu
25th September 2005, 08:55 PM
If they're not, then what good would it do to generalize about their thoughts?

Fett One
25th September 2005, 10:17 PM
Who ever said anyone here wanted to do something good?

mr_pikachu
25th September 2005, 10:26 PM
Don't you understand that when I asked about "what good it would do", I was referring to whether it would be worthwhile?

Fett One
26th September 2005, 06:37 PM
I understand but who ever said everyone will be interested in rather or not it's worth while?

mr_pikachu
27th September 2005, 04:59 PM
Does your interest level have anything to do with what I said?

Fett One
27th September 2005, 07:15 PM
How does my interest level relate to what you said?

mr_pikachu
27th September 2005, 07:16 PM
How am I supposed to know that?

Lady Vulpix
27th September 2005, 07:40 PM
Shall we stop discussing Jeff's interests since he doesn't even seem to want to say what they are?

Fett One
27th September 2005, 08:32 PM
When was I asked to list my interests? Anyway, weren't we talking about interest levels which are a completely different thing?

mr_pikachu
27th September 2005, 09:33 PM
Aren't your interests at least related to your interest level?

Knight of Time
28th September 2005, 06:43 PM
Do either of you two have common interests, I'm assuming?

Fett One
28th September 2005, 07:40 PM
I don't know, so should we try and find out?

mr_pikachu
29th September 2005, 01:11 AM
Is it legal to post a statement and make it part of a question by continuing the sentence? And is there actually a list of rules for this game somewhere? Can I see it?

Lady Vulpix
29th September 2005, 04:18 PM
Do you know it's actually against the rules?
Aren't the rules of this game "stay on topic" and "never say anything out of a question"?

mr_pikachu
29th September 2005, 06:52 PM
But how do you define a question? Couldn't someone argue that any sentence ending in an inquiry qualifies as a question?

Fett One
29th September 2005, 08:29 PM
Why wouldn't a statment ending with an inquiry count as a question? Anyway, since this is my game shouldn't I be the one who decides if it does or not?

mr_pikachu
29th September 2005, 11:56 PM
Are there any other workers? Where is the worker list, anyway?

Lady Vulpix
30th September 2005, 06:15 AM
Wasn't SygmaXE the creator of this game?
And wouldn't the inquiry itself be the question, rather than the statement before it?

sesshomaru
30th September 2005, 12:53 PM
Doesn't it depend what the inquiry was?

Fett One
30th September 2005, 12:55 PM
Since I replaced SygmaXE a couple of years ago, doesn't that technically make me the guy in charge of this game?

Lady Vulpix
30th September 2005, 01:18 PM
What would you say the rules are, in that case?

Fett One
30th September 2005, 01:31 PM
Is there any reason for why an inquiry coming after a statment shouldn't count as a question? Without a good reason, wouldn't making a change to the rules be pointless?

sesshomaru
30th September 2005, 02:21 PM
Why is that so?

Knight of Time
30th September 2005, 02:44 PM
When does anyone suppose questions and answers came to exist?

mr_pikachu
30th September 2005, 04:36 PM
Do you think it would be before or after the invention of language?

Knight of Time
30th September 2005, 05:24 PM
But when would language have been invented? And shouldn't a new version of this game be posted eventually on account of the near-400 posts in here?

mr_pikachu
30th September 2005, 05:39 PM
Why are you telling me about it? Isn't it Fett One's responsibility, if he's the only worker?

Fett One
30th September 2005, 09:18 PM
Didn't you know that you're suppose to wait until a game reaches 25 pages before starting a new version?

mr_pikachu
30th September 2005, 09:20 PM
Wasn't that under the old server, in which each page had 15 posts? Have you noticed that there are 25 per page now?

Knight of Time
1st October 2005, 09:34 AM
Do you two think that enough is enough already?

mr_pikachu
1st October 2005, 09:43 AM
How would we know? Is enough equal to enough in all mathematical situations?

And why would enough be enough after only four posts on the subject? Haven't we had back-and-forth banter on much more trivial points for far larger amounts of posts?

Fett One
1st October 2005, 01:55 PM
Don't those banters usually get boring after awhile?

Lady Vulpix
1st October 2005, 01:59 PM
Then why do we keep having them?
And why isn't anyone playing Lingo when I offered the next poster the choice between a 6-letter word and an 8-letter word? Don't people on this forum like freedom?

Fett One
1st October 2005, 08:05 PM
What would you do if somebody answered no to "Liking Freedom"?

Lady Vulpix
1st October 2005, 08:15 PM
What could I possibly do?

Fett One
2nd October 2005, 01:46 AM
Couldn't you tell them off?

Lady Vulpix
2nd October 2005, 06:19 AM
What right do we have to tell people off for not liking something?

Fett One
2nd October 2005, 12:20 PM
I never said you had the right to do so but doesn't it count as something that you can do?

mr_pikachu
3rd October 2005, 01:02 AM
Haven't you heard the old saying that just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should do it?

Fett One
3rd October 2005, 03:56 PM
Who came up with that saying?

Knight of Time
3rd October 2005, 04:12 PM
How should anyone know where a saying came from, especially if there is the fact that some people may not know much about the saying?

mr_pikachu
4th October 2005, 12:11 AM
What would you say if I told you the original author of it was unknown?

Lady Vulpix
4th October 2005, 12:38 PM
Would I ask this question http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/8914/wink26st.gif?
Can you be sure that no one knows?

mr_pikachu
4th October 2005, 02:12 PM
Is it possible to simultaneously read the mind of every person on earth?

Fett One
4th October 2005, 08:14 PM
Wouldn't that require a person to be a telepath?

Piff man
4th October 2005, 08:19 PM
probably, but what if the person wasn''t thinking about anything?

Carrot
4th October 2005, 08:39 PM
I, myself, as long as I'm awake, always think.

mr_pikachu
4th October 2005, 10:38 PM
Didn't you read the rules (http://www.pokemasters.net/forums/index.php?topic=35049.msg591340#msg591340) of this game? Do you think you could be a little more careful in the future?

Chris Watarimono
5th October 2005, 05:05 PM
Yeah, but he's a newbie around here, so should you give him a bit of leeway? =\

-Chris R.

Knight of Time
5th October 2005, 05:18 PM
Yeah, don't you guys know you should be careful around people that are new here?

Fett One
5th October 2005, 07:22 PM
How careful should we be around newbies? How much time should go by before they are no longer considered newbies?

mr_pikachu
6th October 2005, 12:34 AM
Isn't newbieness a relative measure?

Knight of Time
6th October 2005, 08:53 AM
Do you guys know that we also were newbies once? How long do you suppose it would take for anyone here to no longer be considered a newbie?

mr_pikachu
6th October 2005, 01:26 PM
Can there really be a standard time for such a statement? Aren't the quality and quantity of one's contribution to the forum also important? And can a member be a newbie in some subforums and not in others?

Fett One
6th October 2005, 07:51 PM
Wouldn't those people be considered subform newbies instead of your average newbie?

Lady Vulpix
6th October 2005, 08:44 PM
What's a subform newbie? And since when is being new to a forum an excuse for not reading, not only the rules, but even the topic title?

Fett One
6th October 2005, 08:50 PM
In that case, then shouldn't mods (in general, not just here) stop going easy on newbies?

Lady Vulpix
7th October 2005, 06:33 AM
Doesn't that depend on how 'understandable' what they did was? Shouldn't mods take into account whether the offense was accidental or intentional rather than how long the member has been on the forum?

mr_pikachu
7th October 2005, 09:42 AM
Aren't the two concepts related? Wouldn't newer members be more likely to willfully disobey the rules than older ones if they've been on wilder forums before?

Lady Vulpix
7th October 2005, 02:04 PM
And do you think willfuly disobeying the rules should be accepted when the member is new?

Fett One
7th October 2005, 02:08 PM
Why would anyone think that that should be accepted? Anyway, how can you prove that a person willfully disobeyed the rules?

mr_pikachu
7th October 2005, 02:46 PM
Would the context of their statements and the number of times they've been told the rule in question (as well as "Read the rules!") be a method of proving that beyond a reasonable doubt? And is "beyond a reasonable doubt" enough proof?

Fett One
7th October 2005, 08:10 PM
Isn't "beyond a reasonable doubt" basicly all of the proof that you can find?

mr_pikachu
7th October 2005, 08:33 PM
Couldn't you potentially prove something beyond all doubt?

Chris Watarimono
8th October 2005, 08:56 AM
Is proving that a newbie is indeed a newbie all that important? Can't we just infer from what we got?

-Chris R.

mr_pikachu
8th October 2005, 09:39 AM
But why infer something when you can prove it? Isn't proof more reliable than an assumption?

Lady Vulpix
8th October 2005, 10:56 AM
But what about the vast majority of things you can't prove beyond all doubt?

Knight of Time
8th October 2005, 02:48 PM
Do you guys believe that it is impossible for someone who is a genius to prove any kind of theory?

Fett One
8th October 2005, 03:44 PM
Isn't that true to an extent since no genius has yet to discover a cure for all known diseases or how to time travel?

mr_pikachu
9th October 2005, 01:49 AM
Why would that statement be limited to geniuses? And is it really true?

Lady Vulpix
9th October 2005, 07:34 AM
What do you mean 'no genius has yet to discover a cure for all known diseases or how to time travel'? Do you mean they've already discovered it, or it will never be discovered? Or was it a typo?

Did you know it's been proved that a large part of arithmetical properties cannot be proved, even if hey hold?

mr_pikachu
9th October 2005, 10:02 PM
Isn't that obvious since many of the basic theorems which the more complex ones are based upon are only considered true because their "provers" said that they made sense due to intuition?

Was that too long of a question?

Lady Vulpix
10th October 2005, 09:49 AM
Why would the question be too long if there are no rules about the length of questions?

And aren't those axioms rather than theorems?

mr_pikachu
10th October 2005, 07:49 PM
Even if they are axioms rather than theorems, aren't later theorems based upon essentially unproven axioms? And doesn't that make those later theorems every bit as dubitable as those axioms?

Fett One
10th October 2005, 08:47 PM
Where did you guys learn all of that science stuff?

mr_pikachu
10th October 2005, 08:48 PM
Haven't you taken algebra?

Fett One
10th October 2005, 10:06 PM
How am I suppose to remember something that was last taught to me seven years ago?

mr_pikachu
10th October 2005, 10:11 PM
Isn't that the whole point of school?

Knight of Time
11th October 2005, 02:48 PM
Isn't the real point of school to learn things, not remember them?

mr_pikachu
11th October 2005, 02:49 PM
What future purpose could the information serve if you don't retain it? Are you saying that school is a waste of time?

Knight of Time
11th October 2005, 03:00 PM
Do you realize that there is always a chance you can remember something you forgot? And why would I say that school is a waste of time, when it is never a waste of time, even if you were just a teacher?

mr_pikachu
11th October 2005, 03:01 PM
How am I supposed to know your personal opinions when you portray them in a false light?

Fett One
11th October 2005, 07:39 PM
How were they portrayed in a false light?

mr_pikachu
11th October 2005, 09:08 PM
Have you ever heard of a concept called sarcasm?

Fett One
11th October 2005, 10:45 PM
Don't you realize that it is difficult to understand sarcasm on a message board?

mr_pikachu
12th October 2005, 01:36 PM
What if you're being sarcastic now?

Fett One
12th October 2005, 08:37 PM
Would you believe me if I told you I wasn't being sarcastic?

mr_pikachu
12th October 2005, 11:42 PM
What if I thought that statement was sarcastic as well?

Fett One
13th October 2005, 09:35 PM
Why do you think it's sarcastic?

mr_pikachu
14th October 2005, 12:58 PM
Did I say that I thought it was sarcastic? Wasn't I merely presenting a hypothetical scenario?

Fett One
14th October 2005, 01:39 PM
Can't a hypothetical scenario be partly based on what you're currently thinking about the subject?

mr_pikachu
14th October 2005, 01:42 PM
Does it have to be? Isn't a person capable of thinking of things that they may not actually believe to be true?

Fett One
14th October 2005, 06:55 PM
Is that the case with you?

Lady Vulpix
16th October 2005, 07:41 AM
Do you doubt his imagination?

Fett One
16th October 2005, 04:24 PM
How can you doubt an imagination? Aren't imaginations fiction thus making it impossible to doubt them since there is nothing to doubt? Wouldn't a better question have been to ask if I doubted his theory?

Chris Watarimono
16th October 2005, 05:06 PM
If his theory is doubtable, then is it fallable?

-Chris R.

mr_pikachu
17th October 2005, 12:32 AM
What's the difference?

Lady Vulpix
17th October 2005, 01:36 PM
Aren't all theories doubtable/fallable?
Wasn't it clear that I was referring to the ability to imagine when I said 'imagination'?

mr_pikachu
17th October 2005, 04:33 PM
How did you distinguish your context from that of a failure to generate original thought?

Fett One
19th October 2005, 06:41 PM
Could you explain what you said you a bit more clearly?

Knight of Time
19th October 2005, 06:44 PM
Can you all try to be a little more specific of what you say here that may be mind boggling?

mr_pikachu
19th October 2005, 11:22 PM
What if the things we say require deep explanations to really be understood? Should we waste everyone's time by making massive, question-filled posts?

Lady Vulpix
20th October 2005, 06:28 PM
What's wrong with that? Can't people just look away if they don't want to spend their time reading questions?

Fett One
20th October 2005, 06:31 PM
Couldn't that cause fewer people to want to play this game?

mr_pikachu
20th October 2005, 06:32 PM
And how could people construct a reasonable reply to continue the game if they didn't know what had been said?

Knight of Time
20th October 2005, 06:33 PM
Yeah, wouldn't it be a good idea for someone new to this game to look around the game for a little while before possibly making a post?

mr_pikachu
20th October 2005, 06:38 PM
Are you aware that this discussion applies to frequent players, as well?

Knight of Time
20th October 2005, 06:42 PM
Do you think that there may be times that some of us frequent players might not post in here as much, because of possible vacations?

mr_pikachu
20th October 2005, 06:46 PM
Why would you bring that up? Were you recently on a vacation?

Fett One
20th October 2005, 09:42 PM
Have any of you been on a vacation recently?

mr_pikachu
20th October 2005, 09:49 PM
Is anyone on fall break? Do you all even get a fall break?

Fett One
21st October 2005, 03:14 PM
Does getting 3 days off for Thanksgiving count as a far break since it technically isn't winter yet?

mr_pikachu
21st October 2005, 04:55 PM
What's a "far break"?

Fett One
21st October 2005, 06:59 PM
Isn't that usually referred to as being a spelling mistake?

mr_pikachu
21st October 2005, 07:00 PM
Don't you understand what sarcasm is?

Fett One
21st October 2005, 08:38 PM
Don't you understand what a joke is?

mr_pikachu
21st October 2005, 08:41 PM
Why are you asking that when it is your sense of humor which is at question?

Lady Vulpix
22nd October 2005, 07:00 AM
Why are you two questioning each other's sense of humo(u)r?

mr_pikachu
22nd October 2005, 10:40 AM
Isn't questioning the point of this game, so to speak?

Knight of Time
22nd October 2005, 01:05 PM
Yeah, why would this game have only questions, and no answers, on account of there usually is an answer to any question except here?

Lady Vulpix
22nd October 2005, 03:01 PM
Haven't you found any answers here before? Do you have trouble looking for answers within a question? And why do you still play the game if you don't like speaking in questions, Kyle?

Fett One
22nd October 2005, 03:05 PM
How often do questions get legitimate answers in this game?

Knight of Time
22nd October 2005, 05:39 PM
Since when would I hate speaking in question form, when I don't mind it, but sometimes can't think of something related to the previous post? And why should questions have answers here, when this game is supposed to be questions only?

Lady Vulpix
22nd October 2005, 08:03 PM
Can't a question answer another question? And haven't I asked that before?

mr_pikachu
23rd October 2005, 04:09 PM
Isn't it obvious that Kyle was unable to understand your previous explanation, Gabi?

Fett One
23rd October 2005, 06:53 PM
Should it have been obvious?

mr_pikachu
23rd October 2005, 06:57 PM
Am I the only person who thinks it was obvious?

Lady Vulpix
23rd October 2005, 07:35 PM
Why does he find it so hard to understand, obvious or not?

mr_pikachu
23rd October 2005, 07:43 PM
Shouldn't you be asking him that?

Fett One
23rd October 2005, 10:24 PM
Has anyone stop to think that maybe I had nothing better to say which is why I said what I said?

mr_pikachu
23rd October 2005, 10:30 PM
Why say it if it wasn't worthwhile?

Fett One
24th October 2005, 04:59 PM
Is being bored a good reason?

mr_pikachu
24th October 2005, 11:18 PM
Would making useless posts just to alleviate boredom be an example of spamming?

Fett One
25th October 2005, 09:19 PM
Is it really spamming as long as the rules aren't being broken?

mr_pikachu
25th October 2005, 11:08 PM
What is the exact definition of spam, anyway? Wouldn't worthless posts count?

Fett One
26th October 2005, 07:09 PM
Would that definition apply to this game? How can it be spam if the post is a question and it is related to the previous question?

mr_pikachu
27th October 2005, 12:14 AM
Should the spamminess of a post be defined by its relation to the topic or by its usefulness? After all, couldn't someone post all over TPM with identical posts as the ones immediately before them in the threads? Wouldn't that be considered spam?

Lady Vulpix
27th October 2005, 01:09 PM
Wouldn't that be stupid, pointless and annoying after all?

Knight of Time
27th October 2005, 01:23 PM
Does anyone realize that spam is spam no matter what kind it is?

mr_pikachu
27th October 2005, 05:02 PM
Isn't it clear that we are discussing what qualifies as spam in general, rather than attempting to distinguish different types of spam?

Fett One
27th October 2005, 08:14 PM
Could it be he has a case of not reading all of the previous posts?
