Adware prob

Yeah um, dunno what happened to my older topic, but meh. Anyway, a hijackthis log, can someone PLEEEAAASE help me?

For those who haven't seen this, it's this adware that causes popups to appear, websites to be hijacked, and most obvious symptom, is that certain words are suddenly highlighted green linking to some advertising website. Words like spyware, computer, free... see the pattern?

the green linking is a form of advertising most sites are using nowadays so that isn't caused by adware. i don't see any suspicious services either. have you scanned with more than one adaware scanner to see what comes up?

Actually, no. But about that theory, I don't think so. For one, when I use other web browser, the green links don't come up. Only in IE.

And yeah, I don't see any suspicious services, as I said. That's why I'm having problems identifying the adware/spyware/whatever, much less trying to find our how to remove it.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm buying a 80GB harddisk to back up my data before I leave for thailand for 6mths, I might reformat the whole computer and see if that helps. But it's still a last option.

For now, since I'll be backing up my data, and all, I'll let my brother handle it, since he started it (sorta).

green links come up for me in firefox and i know for a fact i don't have any adware. reformatting is always nice but only if you can't get rid of it any other way.
