I think abattage isn't such a common guess.

I did Paroxysm before the last Igneous, by the way.

Zak
13th November 2005, 07:25 PM
Oh right...

mr_pikachu

I'll add comptoir for good measure.

Zak

Lady Vulpix
17th November 2005, 04:46 AM
Ok, what about forcarve?

Zak
17th November 2005, 02:05 PM
Forcarve: 2-2-4

EDIT: Gabi, can you please respond to my PM right now while you're online?

Lady Vulpix
17th November 2005, 03:54 PM
I like the word valkyrie.

Zak
17th November 2005, 04:12 PM
I like that word too. I was actually planning to use it a couple times in the past but changed my mind at the last minute. I guess now's the time. :)

Lady Vulpix
17th November 2005, 04:50 PM
Ok, so now, let's look for a word that's not on the plushie list...

Alright, 6 letters.

mr_pikachu
17th November 2005, 04:56 PM
Let's use some lateral logic on this one.

Lady Vulpix
17th November 2005, 05:04 PM
Sorry, I made a typo and then my connection slowed down too much as I tried to fix it. You can post another guess, sorry about that.

mr_pikachu
17th November 2005, 05:43 PM
Heh, okay, then.

Did you know that a zythum is an ancient malt liquor made from malt and wheat? Neither did I!

Zak
17th November 2005, 06:04 PM
Larynx

Lady Vulpix
18th November 2005, 05:08 AM
zythum: 2 misplaced, 4 wrong.
larynx: 1 misplaced, 5 wrong.

Zak
20th November 2005, 02:06 PM
I finally learned Ultima.

mr_pikachu
20th November 2005, 10:54 PM
Do you understand the idea of cause and effect?

Lady Vulpix
21st November 2005, 03:44 AM
Zak: learned? What do you mean?
Brian: did you know you've made me feel likt this was Questions Only?

ultima: 2 right, 2 misplaced, 2 wrong. :D
effect: 1 misplaced, 5 wrong.

Zak
21st November 2005, 01:38 PM
It's usually the most powerful non-elemental magic throughout the Final Fantasy games. But it's also the name of another game.

Yesterday I went to an alumni dinner.

~Zak

Lady Vulpix
21st November 2005, 02:09 PM
alumni: 3 misplaced, 3 wrong.

Zak
21st November 2005, 02:30 PM
Stigma?

mr_pikachu
21st November 2005, 02:32 PM
I'll add Slugma for comparison.

Lady Vulpix
21st November 2005, 03:31 PM
Hehe, nice comparison. Brian, I saw you added me on MSN, but I've never caught you online since then. When do you normally go online?

stigma: 2 right, 1 misplaced, 3 wrong.
slugma: 1 right, 1 misplaced, 4 wrong.

Zak
21st November 2005, 04:02 PM
The amount of possible words are starting to reach the limits...

Lady Vulpix
21st November 2005, 04:09 PM
I can imagine.
limits: 2 misplaced, 4 wrong.

Zak
21st November 2005, 07:05 PM
Now they're even more limited... this took me a while to think of a word that could fill the blank spaces in my possibilities, but thinking along the lines of common letters we haven't used yet...

Utopia

Lady Vulpix
22nd November 2005, 04:09 AM
You got it right, Zak. Congratulations! Enjoy your Utopia Plushie!

Zak
23rd November 2005, 09:13 AM
Okay, I have a word of eight letters. Hopefully it hasn't been done before. But... well, here we go.

mr_pikachu
23rd November 2005, 04:20 PM
I'll make the ever-predictable guess of aardvark.

Zak
23rd November 2005, 04:59 PM
~R-M-W~

Aardvark: 2-1-5

Maybe I should have thought through...

Lady Vulpix
24th November 2005, 03:10 PM
Since we're making predictable guesses...
aardwolf

Zak
24th November 2005, 03:19 PM
Aardwolf: 1-1-6

Lady Vulpix
24th November 2005, 05:23 PM
Hmm, let's see what happens with abastard (it's in the lexicon).

Zak
24th November 2005, 06:52 PM
oO;; what does it mean?

Abastard: 1-3-4

Lady Vulpix
25th November 2005, 04:42 AM
No idea. The lexicon is odd like that.
asterisk

Zak
25th November 2005, 11:51 PM
Wow... holy SHIT that was fast. In case you have the filter off... holy ************************************************** ****

Four guesses for an eight letter word? ******.

Lady Vulpix
26th November 2005, 05:36 AM
Wow, I didn't expect to get it so soon! I still had over 8000 words on my list. Asterisk was the first one I saw in it that seemed to match, but it was also the only one I checked against the Lingo calculator (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/lingo.php). I don't know why it caught my attention.

Hmm... 6 letters now.
_ _ _ _ _ _

mr_pikachu
26th November 2005, 05:46 AM
That was amazing, Gabi! Nice job!

Let's start with cirrus this time.

Lady Vulpix
26th November 2005, 06:01 AM
Thanks. Do you ever get on AIM or MSN? I can never find you there.

So much for the palindrome postcount. Why bother looking at a number that will only last till your next post? :P

cirrus: 1 right, 1 misplaced, 4 wrong.

mr_pikachu
26th November 2005, 06:07 AM
I get on the messengers occasionally, but not as often as I used to.

And too bad about the palindrome postcount, but you have a good point. It's good to know that the loss of it hasn't affected your psyche.

Lady Vulpix
26th November 2005, 06:12 AM
psyche: 1 right, 1 misplaced, 4 wrong.

mr_pikachu
26th November 2005, 06:15 AM
It's time for the most obvious comparison guess ever: psycho.

Lady Vulpix
26th November 2005, 06:18 AM
psycho: 1 right, 1 misplaced, 4 wrong.
You always get some information out of comparison posts, even if they both give you the same result. :)

mr_pikachu
26th November 2005, 06:29 AM
It's not good to eat in excess, even on a holiday.

Zak
26th November 2005, 02:21 PM
Citrus :P

Lady Vulpix
28th November 2005, 04:09 AM
What was that :P for, Zak?

excess: 1 misplaced, 5 wrong.
citrus: 1 right, 2 misplaced, 3 wrong.

mr_pikachu
28th November 2005, 04:15 AM
What about except?

Zak
28th November 2005, 05:00 PM
I'll try... stones.

Lady Vulpix
29th November 2005, 04:50 AM
except: 1 right, 1 misplaced, 4 wrong.
stones: 1 misplaced, 5 wrong.

mr_pikachu
29th November 2005, 01:13 PM
What do you expect to receive for Christmas?

Lady Vulpix
1st December 2005, 04:36 AM
Nothing. I'm Jewish.

expect: 1 right, 1 misplaced, 4 wrong.

mr_pikachu
1st December 2005, 06:52 PM
Okay... how about accept?

Zak
1st December 2005, 07:02 PM
Xkylyr

If you don't believe me, you can Google it. It's actually a name. Xkylyr Rauh composed a lot of music from a couple of my favorite games.

Lady Vulpix
3rd December 2005, 11:47 AM
Wow, that's an odd name. It helps, though.
accept: 1 right, 2 misplaced, 3 wrong.
xkylyr: 6 wrong.

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 06:01 AM
If I'm lucky, we can eliminate a few more letters with a larynx.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 06:38 AM
larynx: 1 right, 0 misplaced, 5 wrong.

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 06:51 AM
Okay, stores should reveal a lot.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 07:01 AM
stores: 1 misplaced, 5 wrong.

Did it?

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 08:32 AM
I have no idea what it means, but maybe vaadim will help.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 08:58 AM
vaadim: 1 right, 0 misplaced, 5 wrong.

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 09:10 AM
You know, caught just might work here.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 09:24 AM
You've definitely caught it! Congratulations, Brian!

Have a Caught Plushie!

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 09:32 AM
Wow! Thank you, Gabi! That marks the first plushie I've legitimately won! Thanks! :D

Heh, I've had this word planned for a long, long time...

*clears throat*

This one's got the lucky number - seven letters! Good luck! ^_^

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 10:46 AM
Once more, congratulations.
Hey!, who would have thought aarrghh would be on the lexicon?

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 10:49 AM
I laughed when I saw that word, myself.

aarrghh: 0 right, 3 misplaced, 4 wrong.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 11:21 AM
Ok, let's try...
behaver.

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 11:26 AM
As in, someone who behaves?

behaver: 0 right, 3 misplaced, 4 wrong.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 01:41 PM
I guess.
And chandry as in... chandlery.

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 01:45 PM
Wow, we've got a lot of variation in results here...

chandry: 0 right, 3 misplaced, 4 wrong.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 01:54 PM
Wow, that's amazing!
How about humoral?

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 01:57 PM
o_0

Before you even ask, I checked all four results first on the official Lingo checker and then by hand.

humoral: 0 right, 3 misplaced, 4 wrong.

Lady Vulpix
4th December 2005, 03:22 PM
XD *Bursts into laughter.*

Ok, what about oregano?

mr_pikachu
4th December 2005, 03:42 PM
O_O

Um...

I don't even need to consult the Lingo checker on this one, because, uh... you've won an oregano plushie, Gabi!

That was... an unusual round...

*scratches head confusedly*

Lady Vulpix
5th December 2005, 02:58 PM
Indeed it was. O_O

I would have never managed to get those results if I'd tried.

Thanks, Brian. Now I have another 7-letter word.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _

mr_pikachu
5th December 2005, 09:28 PM
The lexicon has some very weird words indeed... like zyzzyva, which is a genus of tropical American weevils that are often very harmful to plants.

(Yay for dictionary.com!)

Zak
5th December 2005, 09:36 PM
That's really a word? Amazing!

Lady Vulpix
6th December 2005, 03:53 AM
zyzzyva: 7 wrong.
amazing: 1 misplaced, 6 wrong.
Yay for 2 players posting guesses! :)

mr_pikachu
7th December 2005, 05:31 AM
Make sure you have a full woodbox for the coming winter!

Lady Vulpix
8th December 2005, 08:27 AM
Oh, but here the winter won't come until June!
woodbox: 1 misplaced, 6 wrong.

mr_pikachu
9th December 2005, 02:23 PM
How about insists?

Lady Vulpix
10th December 2005, 06:17 AM
insists: 2 right, 1 misplaced, 4 wrong.

mr_pikachu
25th January 2006, 05:13 AM
Maybe imaging will yield some insight.

Magmar
25th January 2006, 05:41 AM
It's about time someone brought this back to life. Thanks! :)

I'm gonna guess a musical guess, you'll never guess what I'm guessing. {sounds like a jingle!}

Lady Vulpix
25th January 2006, 01:40 PM
I'm afraid I lost the word in all the time no one's been playing, but I found another word that fits, so I'll go with that.

imaging: 1 misplaced, 6 wrong.
musical: 1 right, 2 misplaced, 4 wrong.

Thanks for playing again.
