Well the first two episodes of DBGT aired here today. It was ok, but there was some annoying bits. For starters what was with the opening song? LOL! And with Vegeta's moustache and hair, he is not as cool as he used to be. I kind of like Pan though although I can see her voice grating on some people... One thing that caught my attention though was that it appeared that the people who dubbed it are much more lenient than before. Are they different from those who dubbed Z? I picked up on this with the gunfire in the first ep and the gay guy too who said that Trunks was pretty fine, or hot or something like that. Overall it was quite good but I'll give it a try and see if it gets better.

I'm almost positive you watched the Ocean (I think thats who did it.. I saw some clips of it..) dub of GT. They've already released their version, and funimation isn't done dubbing yet.

PS- while we're on the subject, I was starting to think Funi was doing a good job dubbing Z, but I've lost all respect for them. Has anyone heard the english opening that funi is slapping on the show? It's rap for gosh sakes! I have nothing wrong with rap, I'm just not to fond of it, and the song sounds REALLY bad. Also, they are skipping the first 20 episodes when they air it on cartoon network, and they will not be available until after GT is done aring.. ONLY in a box set. You can not get them seperately.. only in the entire box set of GT *sigh*

Im seriously disturbed by what ive seen of GT.

Vegeta looks like a German porn star, Bulma is a wrinkly granny, Videl looks more and more like Chi Chi each time we see her......do i need more.....oh yeah, Gohan's a Nerd.

Ok so i know its only minor faults (Pan's voice is annoying) but it seems to have made alot more drastic changes. I mean, they went into space and found another planet in ONE EPISODE

Back in the days of Z it took a whole Saga.

I dunno i just arent comfortable with it in General, although Goku is pretty Funny.....as always.

I prefer to think of it as a spin off, rather than a continuation of the dragonball series, since the original creator and writer wasnt involved in GT.

After seeing a few more episodes I still think it is ok. Although it is quite mediocre as it's obvious where they have cut things out or abandoned the original script completely. The other night Pan was screaming and her mouth was moving a lot and it was REALLY obvious that she was supposed to be saying something.

I agree, that GT is more of a spinoff. I don't really care for it...but how are the movies going to tie in with Funimation? Will they continue to show all 13 movies between the end of Z and beginning of GT?

I only consider a few episodes of GT as worthy of my viewing. Some of the fights had some interesting ideas. One of the coolest things in Gt is when SS4 Vegeta and Goku do the fusion dance while making multiple images of themselves all over the place and becoming Gogeta.

BTW, I own the Janemba movie: original sub too.

Toriyami was involved in character design for GT....but not the script which is why you have to watch GT as if it has nothing to do with Z in order to enjoy it more.

i wish they used the same to dub trunks as they did with futuer trunks in Z. i miss his slight lisp. and wahts with him looking like a 12 yr old?.
i think GT is fun but is missing the seriousness that Z had. GT is too childish
and the opening and ending music is dire. what were they thinking?

generally GT sux, Vegeta(who is my fav character)is an old man, Gohan is a nerd, Videl looks like ChiChi, Trunks looks like he's 12, Goten sux(like always), Pan is VERY VERY annoting, the storyline sux BIGTIME and the animation isnt much of an improvement if not a decline from the animation that was there around the end of the Buu saga. what other things? oh, all the villains look kinda gay(look at General Lock when he turns to that steel thing)

EDIT: i've seen the Janemba movie, and it aint that great. imo the Lord Slug movie>all

Yeah i downloa.......i mean, aquired (totaly legally) the Janemba movie......i never realised how annoying Goku's voice was in the Japanese version.....and its nice to see some swearing other than 'Darn it'

I'm not sure that there is all that much swearing in the DBZ movies. I've heard that most of the more foul language was not in the original.

Baby is a crappy villain, he just isnt evil enough for my tastes.

the fights are crappy, all they do is fire ki blasts at each other and the way this saga is goin is just wrong, i thought Goku would have to through some some sort of training to become SSJ4 but he doesnt, and they kinda killed the concept of the Oozaru. its supposed to be uncontrolable and violent.

and why the hell isnt Pan dead yet?? :mad:

There really isn't that much swearing in DBZ. The subbers are just compelled to add in the "f**k you you stupid f**cking monster b!tch!", when really the worst it can go in DBZ is probably a$$.

And Toriyama works on the DBGT design, but he also writes the storyline for the Shenlong saga, the final DBGT saga (outta like THREE lol).

I dont know GT is wak on so many levels...lets see
1) Original DB creator (Toriyama) has little to do with series....
2) Super Saiyan 4....What the ****?????
3) How times is Vegeta going to a victim to evil forces...this man's been controlled all his life.....
4) The fights suck
5)Gokou is a kid....again...but less funny than in DB....
6) The whole storyline abandoned a lot of the things Z established, therefore more plot holes were added to accomodate these...mistakes.

Lets see the good about DBGT....

I do admit though,the SS4 thing sux but I don't mind SS4 Gogeta, that is actually kinda cool.

GT is just odd....It dosent fit, I think the series should have never existed, but if it HAD to...Gohan should have been like Gokou in Z and Goten,Uub,Trunks,and Pan could have been the new "Z fighters" or something like that...kind of a Next Generation DBZ thing.....

And lets not even talk about Final Bout....That game is Ok......I guess.....

LOLOLOLOL. the worst is how goten wears that shirt that says goku's son.. so GAY. imo dbz died after the frieza saga.
