Im not sure exactly why TPM still has a pbs forum :) even though the name has been changed to online battling forum a little while back.

anyway, for anyone interrested here, even tho TPM is dead and clearly isnt getting new members that could possibly be interrested, there IS a graphic simulator on the internet to battle using pokemons.

it simulates the pokemon battling program quite accurately.

I'll try to find a tutorial somewhere as Im way too lazy to write one knowing nobody comes to his forum :D.

(btw forget about the PBS, gsbots and rsbots, those are pretty much things of the past)

well the tutorial on the NB site is terribly outdated and was made for a much older version and I remember seeing a much better one somewhere else.

I don't understand what do you mean online batteling??

what do you need to do it, do I get to use pokemon that I've raised ?

or is it like the stadium games where you have to use computer generated ones?

Anyway this sounds like fun, I've pretty much run out of people to battle with here 'cuz well all my friends still play

but not as much anymore 'cuz we're goin' to college soon...yes I realize that makes me seem UBER geeky 'cuz I still play pokemon.

but what can I say, it's an addictive game and they brough back Meganium and Miltank...yeah revel in the geekyness of me.

you are basically allowed to use any pokemon with any move it can learn, any item, and any possible EVs distribution.


Basically, you can build anything that it is possible to get in the game..

so you build what you think is the strongest team possible to test it against other trainers's.

it is a battle simulator, so once you're set, you can use your team to battle.

If there is a GSBot no one uses it. I don't think there is, but I'm probably wrong. Im running a RBYBot on me right now, but no one uses that either. I think as far as GSC goes, almost no one plays that ever now, it sucks. Always sucked. RBY is still fun, though.

Pokemasters.net can have a server in Netbattle and come back to live. Serebii don't have one. I'm the host of a server there if any mod or the Adm want to make a server there I can help them get the server scripts. That way if people didn't know of pokemasters they will know that way.

Well, it's close to a year since that link was posted, and sadly, it is now dead.
Could some kind soul post a link to where NetBattle can be acquired these days?

/added later/ Okay, I just read this Wikipedia article on NetBattle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_NetBattle) and learned that TV's Ian has halted work on the program...does this mean I'm out of luck and will have to use the IRC Bots or wait for the new Pokémon Competitor to be released?
/added even later/ Nope, NetBattle is still downloadable from the home of its most popular server! Hmm...I'm not sure if Smogon.com counts as "another Pokémon main site" as per the TPM rule against links to them, so I'll just tell you the URL for Smogon.com is very very guessable. ;)

I have it downloaded, and I made a team and everything, but when I click on start battling, no servers come up and I get an error. Am I messed up, or is no one on it?

what you need to do is click on the "Advanced button" when the Server Registy pops up...

then type nb.smogon.com for the regular battling arena

or rpg.smogon.com for the rpg version

these are the most used servers mainly because they are english-speaking servers and are hosted in the US, but there are others servers for people from all around the world if you prefer them ... :what:

It's like a crappy version of Netbattle, but it has every Pokémon.
